Mediawiki:Spam-blacklist is meant to be used by the spam blacklist extension. Unlike the meta spam blacklist, this blacklist affects pages on the English Wikipedia only. Any administrator may edit the spam blacklist. See Wikipedia:Spam blacklist for more information about the spam blacklist.

    Instructions for editors

There are 4 sections for posting comments below. Please make comments in the appropriate section. These links take you to the appropriate section:

    1. Proposed additions
    2. Proposed removals
    3. Troubleshooting and problems
    4. Discussion

Each section has a message box with instructions. In addition, please sign your posts with ~~~~ after your comment.

Completed requests are archived. Additions and removals are logged, reasons for blacklisting can be found there.

Addition of the templates {{Link summary}} (for domains), {{IP summary}} (for IP editors) and {{User summary}} (for users with account) results in the COIBot reports to be refreshed. See User:COIBot for more information on the reports.

    Instructions for admins

Any admin unfamiliar with this page should probably read this first, thanks.
If in doubt, please leave a request and a spam-knowledgeable admin will follow-up.

Please consider using Special:BlockedExternalDomains instead, powered by the AbuseFilter extension. This is faster and more easily searchable, though only supports whole domains and not whitelisting.

    1. Does the site have any validity to the project?
    2. Have links been placed after warnings/blocks? Have other methods of control been exhausted? Would referring this to our anti-spam bot, XLinkBot be a more appropriate step? Is there a WikiProject Spam report? If so, a permanent link would be helpful.
    3. Please ensure all links have been removed from articles and discussion pages before blacklisting. (They do not have to be removed from user or user talk pages).
    4. Make the entry at the bottom of the list (before the last line). Please do not do this unless you are familiar with regex — the disruption that can be caused is substantial.
    5. Close the request entry on here using either {{done}} or {{not done}} as appropriate. The request should be left open for a week maybe as there will often be further related sites or an appeal in that time.
    6. Log the entry. Warning: if you do not log any entry you make on the blacklist, it may well be removed if someone appeals and no valid reasons can be found. To log the entry, you will need this number - 1165177258 after you have closed the request. See here for more info on logging.

A user-gadget for handling additions to and removals from the spam-blacklist is available at User:Beetstra/Gadget-Spam-blacklist-Handler

    Proposed additions

    setmycareer.com

Too many strikes. plus Added to MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist.OhNoitsJamie Talk 04:20, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

setmycareer.net was added today; adding to spamblacklist regex. OhNoitsJamie Talk 13:53, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    seair.co.in and exportimportdata.in

Spammed off and on since 2019. Rahulseair was blocked last year, so some of this is likely block evasion. - MrOllie (talk) 12:52, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    @MrOllie: plus Added to MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist. --OhNoitsJamie Talk 13:18, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    healthline.com

Per RfC Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard#Healthline:_deprecate_or_blacklist? consensus is to blacklist the domain. I am in the process of removing as many as possible (840 pages) and when done would like to Blacklist. Will post here when ready. -- GreenC 01:27, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

All gone. Please blacklist any time. Thank you. -- GreenC 14:45, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I already blacklisted it shortly after I closed the RFC :-) - David Gerard (talk) 15:52, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    guidechem.com

Long-term low-value problem (occasional GF use by editors who don't know that) and ramping up now as simple spam. Per Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Chemicals#What do we think about Guidechem.com citations? (current discussion) with other concerns raised for over a decade. They are now also doing x-wiki (a bunch of named accounts were multi-site blocked and g-locked today) and involving widely-numerically-spaced IPs. No prejudice against deferral to global blacklist, but I have not investigated other *wiki yet. DMacks (talk) 16:38, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Guidechem is like the Alibaba for chemical products, with aggressive sales, mostly in Russia and China. On Wikipedia, its chemical information is like a Trojan horse for advertising and maybe spearphishing, appearing as a source where PubChem could be used. Recommend blacklisting. Zefr (talk) 16:52, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
All links cleared from mainspace. DMacks (talk) 18:28, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    admycity.com

Several IP users are adding this website as a reference to articles, but the references don't seem to support the information in the Wikipedia articles to which they're being added. Furthermore, the keywords for this website include "Local businesses, Local directory, Local business center, Local stores, Local restaurants, Hospitals, JCM, Real Estate, Jewelry, Movies, JCM Listing search, Medicines, India search engine, India trade directory, JCM Listing contact, Mumbai, Delhi, Banglore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Ahemdabad & more", which seems to indicate that the website is being added as a reference for SEO purposes. The fact that four of the five users who added this website summarized their edits as a "minor change", when it was not evidently a minor edit, is of concern as well. Discussion

BBC has also circulated a lot of fake news in recent days. I propose that it be blocked. There is an entire book that discusses this https://www.amazon.com/FakeNews-Factory-Tales-BBC-land/dp/1999359135 A simple search on google "fake news by bbc" will turn up plenty of results. Are we afraid to blascklist the BBC because it is so big? Will Wikipedia be controlled by the big guys? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.228.67.14 (talk) 22:44, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your first step would be to have a general discussion at WP:RSN; it may be helpful to read the prior discussions listed at Wikipedia:RSPBBC, and to avoid conspiratorial language. Sam Kuru (talk) 23:26, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
