Wikipedia:Proposed article splits

This is the page to make requests for the splitting of an article into two or more separate articles.

This process is usually undertaken to keep articles from becoming too large (and consequently slow to load on some browsers); but may also occur when an element of an existing article gains substantial notoriety in its own right. In such a case, requests for splitting-off said content from an existing article into a newer, more focused article, should be directed here.

Please make your requests for article splitting below, after familiarizing yourself with the splitting process. We will also attempt to get more people to comment on proposals, however, if the split is contested or potentially controversial, it may be best to run the discussion through Requests for Comment or Articles for Creation instead.

• Split Pipeline transport into Pipeline transport, Oil pipeline and Gas pipeline. The oil and gas pipeline may end up in one article or in their own articles. The current article is heavily based on oil and gas pipeline, while other kinds of pipelines have a much lower weight. See discussion at Talk:Pipeline transport. Please archive Champ Clark Bridge (1928) to a subpage, maybe Talk:Champ Clark Bridge/Champ Clark Bridge (1928). Then split here, with the aformentioned revision being the starting point of Champ Clark Bridge (2019). Then please move the Champ Clark Bridge to Champ Clark Bridge (1928).   ​Since this split was already executed through the cut-and-paste move at Special:Diff/910423731, I've moved Champ Clark Bridge to Champ Clark Bridge (2019), then recreated Champ Clark Bridge as a disambiguation page between Champ Clark Bridge (1928) and Champ Clark Bridge (2019). All links to Champ Clark Bridge from the article namespace have been disambiguated. I've also requested a history merge of all edits from Special:Diff/37397272 to Special:Diff/903652095 (inclusive) into Champ Clark Bridge (1928), and an administrator will attend to the request. • Split Mena (name) into Mena (given name) and Mena (surname): All the references and the prose text is just about the surname. The given name is just a list of names without information concerning the given name. Split Stagg Field concerns two distinct topics - the old Stagg Field/Marshall Field (used by a Big 10 football team, the site of nuclear testing, and torn down in the 50s/60s) and the new Stagg Field (tiny complex built relatively recently). This is not how we do things. The Bucking Bull breed and its registry have no need for a split. Currently the template includes both world-view and US-franchise templates which is a problem as the US navigation template is placed in non-US series pages which have no relevance to it.
