Buru language (Nigeria)
|Region||Sardauna LGA, Taraba State|
|(undated figure of 1,000)|
The only data on Buru is a wordlist collected by Robert Koops in the 1970s. The only published discussion of the classification of Buru is Piron (1998), which treats it as Tivoid, although apart from sharing some lexical items with Northwest Tivoid probably due to proximity, there is little evidence to classify it. It is treated as an isolate within Bantoid by Blench (2016).
