Nat Geo Music is an English language music TV channel, owned in Italy by Fox Networks Group, and by Star India in India and South Asia, which broadcasts documentaries concerning 'the meeting between music and culture' around the world. Hollywood songs are also broadcast on this channel. Initially, the channel used to be broadcast only in Italy and Portugal. Later, it was made available in India and South Asian countries also.
In Italy it is locally available at channel 710 of SKY Italia, prior to this it was at channel 406 from the launch date until April 30, 2008. Also, in Portugal, the channel is available in IPTV and satellite operator MEO, both on channel 148. It is also available in most European countries, including the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom. This channel is also available in India and South Asian countries via Cable and DTH operators.
'Nat Geo Music' refers to the National Geographic Society's music website and record label, which work in conjunction with the TV Channel.
The Nat Geo Music website was launched in April 2006 which spotlights music from around the globe with a multimedia mix of videos, mp3 and text features, including country and genre descriptions, artist profiles, interviews, and music news.
