Sathuvachari is an area and Zone-II headquarters of Vellore Municipal Corporation. It is located in the east of Vellore city. It is situated in the bank of Palaar River. Sathuvachari, a well-developed part of Vellore with Collectorate, S.P.Office, District science center, Vellore District Co-operative Milk Producers' Union Ltd (Aavin), Vellore District Court, Tamil Nadu Housing Board Office, Regional Transport Office, TNSTC Vellore (formerly PATC) divisional office, Many Government and Private Educational Institutions are located here. National Highway(NH 46) passes through Sathuvachari making travel to Chennai and Bengaluru fast and easy. Sathuvachari is 4.5 km from Vellore-katpadi Junction, 2.5 km from Local Bus Terminus (FORT), 1.5 km from Central Bus Terminus (GREEN CIRCLE Junction), 5 km from Vellore Cantonment Railway Station and 10 km from Sripuram golden temple.


South avenue road in Sathuvachari is the longest straight road which connects phase-2,phase-1 areas and TVK nagar area. several shops and government offices are located here. Another important road in Sathuvachari is RTO road and Arcot road(NH-46),it is busy in all times due to commercial center and some hospitals are located here. Bus Route from old bus terminus(FORT) via CMC, GREEN CIRCLE(New Bus Terminus)-7,7A,F7,7J,F7T,7N,7S.

The place got its name from its first resident, Sakthi Aachari when the place was nothing but a barren land. Holy Cross Matriculation Higher Secondary School was founded in 1974. A gym in Sathuvachari is proud of weightlifters who won international competitions.

As per the religious census of 2011, Sathuvachari had 85.01% Hindus, 7.9% Muslims, 6.5% Christians, 0.03% Sikhs, 0.04% Buddhists, 0.18% Jains, 0.32% following other religions and 0.01% following no religion or did not indicate any religious preference.[2]
