The Service for Research and Documentation (Serbian: Služba za Istraživanje i Dokumentaciju; SID) was the foreign intelligence agency of Serbia. Service responsibility was intelligence gathering and other security activities relating to terrorism.

It was under authority of Foreign Ministry with headquarters in Belgrade, Serbia. On 11 December 2007 has adopted new Law on security and intelligence services of Republic of Serbia, where are determined three security and intelligence agencies of the Republic. The three existing are: BIA (Security Information Agency), VOA (Military Intelligence Agency) and VBA (Military Security Agency). Other two, Service for Research and Documentation was planned to be dissolved and partly reorganised into Department for Analytic and Support (Serbian: Odeljenje za Analitiku i Podršku), and Security Service of Foreign Ministry is now Department within Ministry responsible just for technical security of Ministry buildings and officers.

On 14 September 2013, foreign minister Mr. Ivan Mrkić have announced the restoring of the Service.
