Speedy deletion: Swanest

Hi FitIndia, you recently marked the Swanest page I created for speedy deletion. I was interested to know why this is as im not related to the organisation and I made sure the piece was factual and backed by strong sources. I have found a very similar piece on a different company in the same area MoneyFarm which is what lead me to wanting to put the page up, so investors can find Swanest too (as it wasnt on Wikipedia). Edits to page: Gebhard Gritsch

Hi FitIndia, Thanks for your edits to page Gebhard Gritsch. There is one edit which is however incorrect ie the retitling of the page name and redirection. The page name should be Gebhard Gritsch, you have however redirected this to a new page named Gebhard Phil-Gritsch (as incorrectly used by some media in the past) This is incorrect as the "Phil"in the name is actually a shortcut to show that Gebhard Gritsch has a Doctorate in Philosophy. Some media have incorrectly added the Phil in the past. Once correctly reinstated it would however be useful to have a redirection from Gebhard Phil-Gritsch to the correctly titled page "Gebhard Gritsch", perhaps explaining that due to media coverage he is also known as Phil-Gritsch. I tried to undo your edit but it seems it now has a protection on it. Please can you assist me to reinstate this? Help orient this n00b

Hello, I noticed you've been making a lot of edits to Kai Degner, a page I had started a few hours ago. I don't have much experience creating Wikipedia pages although I teach computer programming and web development and have been hosting websites since 2005. I guess I'm just a little confused as to the etiquette of page creation. I had barely had any time to get the basic information on the page set up before it was flagged for deletion, and other people started making edits. I was surprised to find that most of the changes I had made were removed seconds after I had added them. Please let me know what the correct/polite thing to do is. Should I just wait for you to finish making edits before I suggest mine? Is it always the practice that people will start editing pages you create minutes after you start them? Fitindia, could you show me what policy you're referring to when you write that an editor may not remove a warning from their talk page, for having blanked an AFD template: [1]. I believe I placed the warning, and I have no problem with them having deleted it. You've restored warnings to their talk page multiple times. Is there a policy on this that I've missed? About the latest deletion on the Siem Reap Page

This article was deleted because it violate the Wikipedia rule stating that no advertisement are allowed. Creating a section in a page solely to sell a product is a clear violation of that rule. This page give general information about Siem Reap, and it would very odd if that city has only one specialty. Hi, Fitindia, I would certainly not blank a section if it would bring anything relevant to a page in Wikipedia. I live in Siem Reap for several years, and know the city very well. In this case a section was created by ONE user solely to sell a commercial product. It does indeed affect the balance of the article because you go from general information to a section created specifically to sell a product. The same person posted no less then 7 references about the same product on similar pages. If there was other listings in the same section, I would consider rewriting it, but it is not the case. I insist on the fact that that section is not relevant or useful on the page of Wikipedia, but is nothing less then an advertisement, thus violating the publication rules. Hi Fitindia, I would request that DBRacing page stays open as it is not going to be used for advetising, and certainly not intended for advertising. It will be an information page for the general public, with a basic outline of pitbikes and information binding into the history of the company. Alike the page thumpstar. DBRacing is a manufacturer and if Thumpstar exists on wiki. There should be no reason to not allow this information page. A request to you

Hello Fitindia, I would like to request you if you can use Government of India's official website (e.g. censusindia.gov.in and indiapost.gov.in) as reference to geographical articles because as per WP:UGC citing unreliable user-generated sources are prohibited and I was doing the same mistake by using census2011.co.in, onefivenine.com and, villageinfo.in as references to support population and pin codes and found all of your articles (same as mine) in that list at Punjab edit-a-thon cite these three websites. I have already started replacing these links with official government websites and came across to request you if you can do the same.

You can easily find population for any village/town here and postal index numbers at this link these both are official website of Indian Government. You recently indicated you reverted one of my Edits to Ken Dewey saying it was not constructive. I have added detail that is currently absent and will be adding a lot more. Katherine C. Hughes

By all means this was not even close to an actual Keep because all of the Keep votes were either not confident or, in fact, questionable. This is best either relisted (preferred) or closed by someone else experienced.@User:SwisterTwister I just felt it was relisted twice and it had more keeps then deletes and Katherine C. Hughes does have a VIAF Virtual International Authority File[4] so I felt keep was the right thing to do. Sorry about that, hope it was the right decision. I'm curious how this was a keep. AFD is based on the strength of arguments, not on counting keeps. Btw there are actually 2 deletes (counting nom SwisterTwister) and 2 keeps. New Page Review needs your help

Hi Fitindia,

As an AfC reviewer you're probably aware that a new user right has been created for patrolling new pages (you might even have been granted the right already, and admins have it automatically).

Since July there has been a very serious backlog at Special:NewPagesFeed of over 14,000 pages, by far the worst since 2011, and we need an all out drive to get this back down to just a few hundred that can be easily maintained in the future. Unlike AfC, these pages are already in mainspace, and the thought of what might be there is quite scary. There are also many good faith article creators who need a simple, gentle push to the Tea House or their pages converted to Draft rather than being deleted.

Although New Page Reviewing can occasionally be somewhat more challenging than AfC, the criteria for obtaining the right are roughly the same. The Page Curation tool is even easier to use than the Helper Script, so it's likely that most AfC reviewers already have more than enough knowledge for the task of New Page Review.

It is hoped that AfC reviewers will apply for this right at WP:PERM and lend a hand. You'll need to have read the page at WP:NPR and the new tutorial.

What is TTT?

New Page Review - newsletter No.2

A HUGE backlog

We now have 816 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.

Hitting 17,000 soon

The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.

Second set of eyes

Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.

Abuse

This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and

  1. this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
  2. this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
  3. This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.

Coordinator election

Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

I came across scores of wiki articles with incorrect names, specially of politicians with embellished and inflated titles in their name e.g. chaudhary and sardar etc being used as their first name whereas none of these are their official names but grandiose embellishments which are against wiki naming policies and no consensus is needed to correct such wrongs for example the titles like "prophet" has been removed from the article [[Muhammed}]. In this specific case, Manisha Ashok chaudhary (firstname, middlename, surname) is her real and correct name, even election commission webpage has used incorrect naming convention by failing to insert a comma after the surname e.g. (Chaudhary, manisha Ashok) for her and her rival (Ghoshalkar, Vinod Ramchandra). Do not be a a trigger happy bully to easily issue BAN warning to people like this is and you must use good faith first and I will have you BANNED you if you issue warning withotu due consideration and without cordially discussing with people FIRST. I will take you to the review borad for a perm ban if yo TRY TO GAME THE SYSTEM THIS WAY. I also noticed you crated many villages with extremely poor references (e.g. google map is your refrence? lol and massive copy paste from census india website) and you have created too many villages like this, I might have to have all of those DELETED and get you BANNED for mass plagiarism do not make me GO AFTER YOU and if you GAME THE SYSTEM by throwing the rule book on me I too can do the same, you better discuss nciely with people before issuing hostile and unwelcome and inappropriate BAN warning to people. MANISHA ASHOK CHHAUDHARY is her legal name so it will be her page name. I do not knwo her and i hv no conflict of interest and you must disclose your conflict of interest if you are related to her or if you are her worker or supporter interested in inflating titles (chaudhary is grandiose title and in her case it is her surname and should be last and not first as eleciton commission made a mistake on their webpage to omit comma after surname if surname is placed first). In this regard I would like to submit that Shrivardhan Trivedi is very much established and known face of Hindi Television broadcast News. He has got mentioned in India Book of Records and Limca Book of Records because of his still running crime investigation show on ABP News.

The India Book of Records felicitated Shrivardhan Trivedi for being the most successful single anchor of the longest running crime TV show. When he received the award in 2013, ‘Sansani’ had completed 2700 episodes. The cult crime show still enjoys a strong run as it airs on ABP News, every night at 11 PM. When Sansani started on November 22, 2004 on Star News. This is what I can say about the notability of Shrivardhan Trivedi.
