Hey there. I've been flat out lately with fellow stuff, do you think you could take a look at the cases requiring a volunteer and see if you can do anything with them? Steven Zhang Help resolve disputes! 20:18, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Implications

[edit]

So does this imply that you've now concluded there are no longer any Hong Kong residents and that God didn't create Manchester? And, maybe, there's something about Olivia Newton-John? Best regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 16:06, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Teahouse talkbacks considered helpful

[edit]

Hi, Xanchester! Thanks for answering Teahouse questions! You're doing fine, of course, but there is one thing. we've found in the past that a lot of people who ask questions at the Teahouse don't really know about watchlist functions or things like that, and they don't automatically keep an eye on the questions page. So, we've found it's really helpful to them to drop them a talkback when their questions are answered; otherwise, many don't even see the answer. There's a special Teahouse talkback if you prefer that over the normal one, and if scripts are your thing, there are a few at WP:Teahouse/Host lounge/User scripts that I and others have made to make the process a bit easier (the talkback-link one gets good reviews). Thanks again! Writ Keeper 05:40, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Xanchester, thank you for volunteering as a host at the Teahouse. Wikipedia is a community of people working together to make knowledge free. You are an important part of that effort! By joining as a Host, you are helping new users get a hold of the ropes here at Wikipedia, and helping old users that just have a question about how something works.

Double-AfD

[edit]

There a reason you replaced my deletion nomination of Embedded Parallel Operating System with another one two minutes later? Or did we both get the same good idea at the same time?Francophonie&Androphilie (Je vous invite à me parler) 14:09, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for notifying me, and yes, I nominated the article using Twinkle at the same time as you did. I thought that Twinkle cancels the AfD if it detects that one has already been nominated, but apparently not. I'll tag the second nomination for speedy deletion (CSD G6, for technical deletions).--xanchester (t) 14:14, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Quite fine! Two nominations are better than none! (Well, actually, since these are deletion nominations, I suppose it's the other way around, but you know what I mean. ;) )Francophonie&Androphilie (Je vous invite à me parler) 14:23, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, also, don't forget to endorse the first AfD now! It's a pretty low-visibility article, and I can't see how any informed editor could think it has any purpose, so I figure if we get a few delete votes I'll snowball it for early closure.Francophonie&Androphilie (Je vous invite à me parler) 14:32, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dispute resolution volunteer survey

Dispute Resolution – Volunteer Survey Invite

Hello Xanchester. To follow up on the first survey in April, I am conducting a second survey to learn more about dispute resolution volunteers - their motivations for resolving disputes, the experiences they've had, and their ideas for the future. I would appreciate your thoughts. I hope that with the results of this survey, we will learn how to increase the amount of active, engaged volunteers, and further improve dispute resolution processes. The survey takes around five to ten minutes, and the information you provide will not be shared with third parties other than to assist in analyzing the results of the survey. No personally identifiable information will be released.

Please click HERE to participate.
Many thanks in advance for your comments and thoughts.

You are receiving this invitation because you have either listed yourself as a volunteer at a dispute resolution forum, or are a member of a dispute resolution committee. Hi there, I noticed that you haven't been as active at DRN as you was before. DRN has been a bit backlogged lately and we could use some extra hands. We have updated our volunteer list to a new format, Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard/Volunteers (your name is still there under the old format if you haven't updated it) and are looking into ways to make DRN more effective and more rewarding for volunteers (your input is appreciated!). If you don't have much time to volunteer at the moment, that's fine too, just move your name to the inactive list (you're free to add yourself back to active at any time). Hope to see you again soon :) Steven Zhang (talk) 13:42, 25 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
