Main Page error reports

To report an error in content currently or imminently on the Main Page, use the appropriate section below.

• Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
• Offer a correction if possible.
• References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
• Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 13:36 on 2 November 2024) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
• Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
• Do not use {{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
• No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
• Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
• Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed or determined not to be an error, or the item has been rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

In the description of the featured picture for Diwali, we should wikilink the mythical city Ayodhya (Ramayana) instead of the actual city Ayodhya. The reason is explained in the second paragraph of the article Ayodhya (Ramayana):

“ The historicity of this legendary city is of concern to the Ayodhya dispute. According to one theory, it is same as the present-day Ayodhya city. According to another theory, it is a fictional city, and the present-day Ayodhya (originally called Saketa) was renamed after it around the 4th or 5th century, during the Gupta period. ”

TFA Title template for Oct 19 2016

The TFA Title template for this day doesn't seem to be populated with the page title (it doesn't seem to have been created for this day), whereas it exists for all other days. Would someone mind populating it? I don't have the rights. DBrant (WMF) (talk) 13:20, 19 October 2016 (UTC)

To clarify a bit, we use this template in the Wikipedia Android app, as part of the content feed in the app's home screen. We simply noticed that it was missing today. (I can't speak to other usages of this template) DBrant (WMF) (talk) 14:09, 19 October 2016 (UTC)

(A former TFA coordinator writes): As I understand it, the original purpose of {{TFA title}} was to feed into {{TFA-editnotice}}, which produces the friendly greeting/warning when you edit the TFA. My understanding is that the bot looks for the article title in the daily TFA blurb (which always ought to be the first link in the blurb, in bold, making it easy to find). However, with today's TFA the bot must have been thoroughly confused by '''''{{lang|de|[[Komm, du süße Todesstunde, BWV 161|Komm, du süße Todesstunde]]}}''''' at the start of the TFA blurb, and given up. Pinging the current team @TFA coordinators as a pointer not to use templates to wrap the TFA title unless it is really necessary to do so, and if it is, then to sort out the TFA title daily subpage. I didn't know the details of the bot, but after reverting the {{lang}} template in another spot, I was reverted. I thought about it over a cup of tea: it should be easy to program something looking for the two opening straight brackets and taking as the title what's found from there to the closing brackets, or the separator if piped, no? Springtrap

Springtrap, (formerly Spring Bonnie) is the third evolution of Bonnies’ in [ [ FNAF World ] ] . He appears in [[ Five Night’s At Freddy’s 3 ] ] as the only animatronic after the night guard (besides the phantom animatronic hallucination) .

Springtrap is also considered the only animatronic with a human body inside a suit (as the other children bodies were never found) .

Behavior and Story

In FNAF world, Springtrap is said to be one of the most aggressive animatronics. In Five Night’s At Freddy’s 3, with limited security and protection, Springtrap often messes with the validation if the camera not rebooted enough; which can result in a dangerous outcome.

                         By legend, Springtrap is known to be the Purple Guy, killer of the 5 children who became the original animatronics, except for the mysterious 5 soul, who by theory became the Golden Freddy (brother of Freddy Fazbear)
                        As the animatronics were after Purple Guy, purple guy hides his soul by finding an old hare suit, and becomes Spring Bonnie, or Springtrap.
