Behati Prinsloo (born May 16, 1989 in Grootfontein) is a Namibian model.[6] In 2008, she became the face of the Victoria's Secret sub-brand Pink and moved on to become a Victoria's Secret Angel in 2009.[7]
Early life and career
Prinsloo was born in Grootfontein, South-West Africa (now Namibia), where her father is a minister and her mother runs a bed and breakfast.[8]
While on holiday in Cape Town, South Africa, at the age of 16, Prinsloo was discovered by model scout Sarah Doukas.[8]
Prinsloo has walked in fashion shows for Chanel, Prada, and Miu Miu. She has been on the covers of Vogue, The Daily Telegraph magazine, Italy's Muse, Russian Vogue, French, Swedish & Italian Elle, and American Velvet. Her ad campaigns include Adore, Aquascutum, Chanel, H&M, Hugo Boss, Kurt Geiger, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Max Studio, Nina Ricci, Tommy Hilfiger, Gap, DKNY Jeans and Nine West as well as a Vogue Italia editorial.[4][8]
On her resume are appearances in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.[4] In 2009, Prinsloo was made a Victoria's Secret Angel.[9] She has been doing print work for the company as the face for their sub-brand "Pink". Prinsloo ranked 14th on 'The Top Sexiest Models' list by models.com.[10]
She was announced as the face of Australian swimwear brand Seafolly for summer 2012.[11]
She played the rich girl in the "Rich Girls" music video by The Virgins.[8]
The night before the 4 December 2012 airing of the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Prinsloo and fellow Victoria's Secret models Jacquelyn Jablonski and Jasmine Tookes guest starred on the 3 December "Ha'awe Make Loa" episode of CBS' Hawaii Five-0 playing themselves.[12]
Personal life
Prinsloo is close friends with Canadian model Coco Rocha and fellow Victoria's Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel.[8]
Prinsloo dated Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine from May of 2012 until March 2013.[13][14] They reunited after a brief split, and in July 2013, it was reported that the two are engaged.[15]
