Hadapsar is an eastern suburb of Pune City, Maharashtra, India. Hadapsar has three SEZs: Magarpatta city, Amanora parktown and Fursungi IT Park (SP Infocity). The SEZ's concern IT and ITES. ADP, Sybase, IBM, TCS, Mphasis, Amdocs, Avaya, SAS, John Deere, Patni, Option One, Accenture, Exl, Zs, Aviva, Honeywell, BNY Mellon, Zensar, Aruman who own the noqplz app and Synechron are IT companies based in Hadapsar. Apart from IT, Kirloskar Pueumatics, and Serum institute are the major industries.

Hadapsar is the headquarters of the Sanmitra Sahakari Bank. Until 1980 Hadapsar was a small village surrounded by farms. Major real estate projects such as "Magarpatta City" and "Amanora" have more recently occurred in the vicinity of Hadapsar.

Industry

Hadapsar was an Industrial suburb of Pune, and is a part of Pune Municipal corporation. Mumbai Hyderabad National highway runs through Hadapsar. This is also known as Pune - Solapur Road. Hadapsar is home to industries like Serum Institute of India, Honeywell, Bharat Forge, Gits Food Products,[citation needed] Indian Hume Pipe Factory, Kirloskar, EDP and Accurate.

Hadapsar is home to IT/ITES/BPO/KPO companies such as Honeywell, IBM, Tata consultancy, Compsoft, Accenture, Mphasis, and BNY-Mellon.

Tourism

Gliding Centre Pune

The Gliding Centre at Hadapsar, Pune (GCP) is an undertaking of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Civil Aviation Department, Government of India. Currently, three 'Super Blanik L23' aircraft, which are two-seater gliders (Sailplanes), are flown at the gliding centre.

Pilots with valid Glider Pilot Licenses can fly there, and the centre offers training to aspiring pilots. GCP is open to the general public on Sundays (excepting national holidays) and offers a joy ride. Typically, flying season at GCP starts post monsoon by October and continues until the onset of the next monsoon by May or early June.

Other tourist sites

Tourist locations in the vicinity are Theur, Kanifnath Temple and Mastani Talav (a lake). Hadapsar is located around 8.5 km from the centre of Pune. Every year Sant Dyneshwar and Sant Tukaram palkhi go from Alandi and Dehu to Pandharpur through Hadapsar where the routes get separated. Chintamani temple (Theur) is 16 km from Hadapsar. Chintamani Ganpati is one of the eight Ashtavinayakas. Kanifnath Temple: This ancient temple is believed to be one of the Navnaths, and there is a small cave opening within it, which women are barred from entering. Kanifnath temple is located around 30 km away from Pune. From Hadapsar, there are two roads that reach the temple. One is via Wadki, and the other is via Wadki and Saswad.

Theur: Theur is a pilgrimage site and houses the Chintamani Ganapati Temple. This Ganesha Temple is part of the Ashtavinayak series in Pune. The temple is the 5th Ashtavinayak. It is also believed that a restive Lord Brahma found peace of mind at this place by seeking the help of Lord Ganesha.

Tukai Tekadi: This hill is located near gliding centre. There is a temple of goddess 'Tukai' there. The area in and around Tukai Tekdi is seen as a future residential area of interest.[1]

Amanora Town Centre: This is a shopping mall comprising 400 acres of gated community.

Seasons Mall: Building up on a 17-acre plot, this mall is located on the outskirts of Magarpatta city.

Schools and colleges in Hadapsar include Sadhana college, P.D.E.A.'s College of Engineering, Manjari(Bk.) EuroSchool - Undri, Delhi Public School, The Bishops School-Undri, Annasaheb Magar College, College of Engineering Hadapsar, Ayurvedic college, ISMR, Jayawantrao Sawant College of Engineering, Jayawantrao Sawant College of Pharmacy, and Sane Guruji Vidyalaya.

Hadapsar gaon (the original village), Gadital, Malvadi, Gondhale nagar,Manjri BK,Nandini SpringField,Manjri Greens, Satyapuram, Satav Nagar, Sadhana society, Aakashwani, Sadesatra nali, Sadhunana vasti, Orient garden, Sasanenagar, Sayyad nagar, Magarpatta, tukai darshan, Kalepadal, Laxmi Cololy, Mahadev Nagar, Undri are the main areas.

Transport

Hadapsar railway station exists but is poorly served. Pune Junction railway station provides mor rail services. The nearest airport is Pune Airport.

Hadapsar is connected to the other parts of the city by PMPML buses. The PMPML also operates AC buses on the Katraj-Hadapsar BRT Route. Several State Transport buses also have a stopover at Hadapsar.

The traffic density on the roads is higher during the morning and evening rush hours due to the companies located there, and the National Highway passes through. Two flyovers have been constructed to ease the traffic and work on connecting the existing flyover to Saswad road is under progress.
