Speedy deletion nomination of OO7 (hand game)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on OO7 (hand game) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. AfC reviewer?
Hi! Are you an AfC reviewer? I ask because I see that you've been accepting drafts, but I don't see your name on the list of reviewers. So then I wondered if you had read the bold-face message that reads "PLEASE NOTE: Editors whose usernames are not on the list are strongly cautioned not to review AfC submissions". May I suggest that if you want to be a reviewer (and more are surely needed), you should make a request in the usual way? I think that'd be better. I'm not particularly comfortable with some of the pages you've accepted, and am going to ask what others think of them, and whether they should be moved back to draft. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 22:08, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
@Justlettersandnumbers: My bad, I didn't realize I had to apply. Thanks for letting me know. — BrandonXLF (talk) 22:21, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
- Well, OK, then, please do that if you wish; as you've probably seen, I've started a discussion on what should be done. Just for future reference: one of the most important parts of AfC review is checking for copyright violation; but you moved Draft:Richard Moya to mainspace even though there was substantial copying in all versions. Whatever else, please be more aware of copyright issues! Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 22:37, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
Ways to improve Torakusu Yamaha

Date templates
I see you are editing many date templates but there are several types of errors:
- Changing output of existing templates so current uses break, e.g. changing month and year in {{LastMonth}} to only month when you redirected to {{LASTMONTHNAME}}. You also removed the option to specify the start month to subtract a month from. Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:LastMonth may look like there are no "real" uses to be compatible with but all six templates listed there are used by an active archiving bot which uses substitution to make navigation headers in archive pages. E.g. at Wikipedia:Help desk/Archives/2018 June 29 where the May link correctly goes to Wikipedia:Help desk/Archives/May 2018 but would have been broken in your version. I have reverted your edits to four templates {{Lmonth}}, {{LastMonth}}, {{Nmonth}}, {{NextMonth}} so the next archiving run of the bot doesn't save broken substitutions.
- Preventing substitution from working. See WP:SAFESUBST. For example,
{{subst:NEXTMONTHNAME}}
currently saves the code{{#time:F|+1 month}}
which always renders as a month after it is viewed.{{subst:NEXTMONTHNAME}}
should saveAugust
now so it always renders asAugust
. Date templates are often used with substitution. - Referring to named parameters as
name
instead of{{{name}}}
, e.g. in [1]. See Help:Template#Handling parameters. - Placing noinclude after a newline which will then be included in pages using the template, e.g in [2]. This often gives unwanted whitespace. A noinclude part should nearly always start at the end of an existing line and not a new line.
PrimeHunter (talk) 21:54, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
@PrimeHunter: I didn't realize that those templates would be need for substitution (my bad). I have specified that the templates I created are NOT to be used with substitution. BrandonXLF (talk) 22:35, 3 July 2018 (UTC)

Hello, I see you keep changing my Rachel Greene page, as I have stated her name is commonly mistaken for Rachel Green, when it is actually "Greene". I don't think that you are very nice.
Hello Brandon, I was very confused when I was watching FRIENDS the other day and found out Rachel's last name was spelt "Greene". I went to wikipedia to check if what I saw was true. When I saw that it said "Green" I created a wikipedia accont to see if I could change it to what I saw on TV. Once I made the edit, I was showered in rude remarks and limricks from you! I really thought that wikipedia would be easier to talk to and make edits on. I have absolutly no faith and hope in wikipedia and hope that you learn from your actions. You're canadian too, arent you supose to be nice?! Thank you for reading. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kailynpalmer (talk • contribs) 04:36, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
@Kailynpalmer: Unfortunately wikipedia has polices, a lot of policies. I had many of my edits undone when I first started (hundreds of edits). The issue was that your were changeling the name of links that messed up the page (making them red) If you can provided me with a reliable source (already on the page or not) I can do the renaming and/or page moving process for you. I understand this is frustrating, but we all have to start from somewhere. — BrandonXLF (talk) (Please ping me) 04:54, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
That has nothing to do with boldfacing. I've restored the proper template code and documentation. Wikipedia does not have templates as wrappers for basic HTML elements that are re-implemented in '''wikimarkup'''
; attempts to create them have repeatedly been deleted at WP:TFD; even {{span}}
and {{div}}
were deleted. We only have template wrappers for non-wikimarkup elements, and mostly only those used in semantic markup: {{em}}
, {{strong}}
, {{code}}
, {{var}}
, {{kbd}}
, {{samp}}
. PS: The fact that {{B}}
is intended to be substituted is irrelevant. Many templates are, and will even throw an error if you don't do it. — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 05:43, 8 July 2018 (UTC)

Irish Motorway service stations
Why create trivial, non-notable articles like Rathcoole services and Paulstown services, clogged with even more trivia about coffee machines, picnic tables, and car washes? Are you going to update each one when a Subway is replaced by a Burger King? When they're closed for servicing? Note https://motorwayservices.ie is probably not a reliable source for determining notability, even if "true". Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a travel guide, or business directory, and not everything belongs in Wikipedia. Surely your efforts are better off spent on more notable topics. If anywhere, this type of topic and detail belongs at Wikivoyage, which is a travel guide. Cheers, --Animalparty! (talk) 21:37, 8 July 2018 (UTC)

Just a service station and a few shops. WP:NOTDIR, WP:NOTGUIDE and WP:GNG
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion..

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:03, 2 August 2018 (UTC)

Your addition of a template indicating that Template:Time Zone should be added
I have reverted almost all of your additions of this template during an AWB run on August 10. Infoboxes are not mandatory, and many of the pages present complex historical information that would be hard to represent using an infobox. Others already have one or even two other, more appropriate boxes: Time in Europe, Time in the Middle East, Time in Africa, Time in Russia ... A few, such as Jet lag, are not time zones at all. I found only one page where I felt the addition of the template would be a clear improvement: Sri Lanka Standard Time, which was instead using Infobox:School with an ad hoc illustration. You could more usefully have performed the substitution of templates yourself rather than slapping on a maintenance template. In fact, since unlike me you understand templates well, I request you fix my edit, which leaves an error message regarding the "Current time". It struck me that there are some remaining regions of the world that don't have their own boxes like Time in Africa, etc., so if you really feel there should be an infobox whenever possible, consider creating Time in Oceania or Time in Asia instead. But in many cases there are informative graphics in use that are as much or more useful, such as the International Dateline one. Yngvadottir (talk) 06:23, 21 August 2018 (UTC)

Hey, Brandon. Now that things are working again, I hope we can work together to improve the merge templates and guidelines, as I appreciate your ambition. For example, the documentation at Template:Split portions could really use some better organization, maybe tables instead of the prose, and a summary of the parameters. - Once again my option, but it does different things then alternatives. If you're using multiple if statements then it pays off to use it. Just so you know it's intended to be used inside other modules and not invoked in templates. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 20:16, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- But isn't that already only one line of code? I could just as easily type
return not (args[1] == nil or args[1] == '');
if I wanted to check that. Primefac (talk) 20:19, 6 September 2018 (UTC)- Yes, but it's easier to use
if set(argument) then
rather the copying the code for every time you need it. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 20:26, 6 September 2018 (UTC)

Template/module editing needs care
I monitor Category:Pages with script errors and have had to purge several articles that were in that category due to your edits at various templates/modules. I see that the issue was discussed at VPT (permalink) where mention was made of the recent ANI discussion. A previous discussion was at User talk:BrandonXLF/Archives/2018#Time templates which involved issues raised by three editors with no response from you.
Templates and modules are not the place for bold editing. The first step should be to outline any proposals on the appropriate talk page and give time for any opinions. The purpose of any edits should always be clear from the edit summary which can link to the talk page discussion if necessary. Editing should occur in the template or module sandboxes with appropriate testing before edits that affect articles are made.
BrandonBot (talk · contribs) was created on 7 September 2018. I suppose you have seen WP:Bot policy and plan to have the bot approved before it is used. Johnuniq (talk) 01:44, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
- I'm aware of this. I read WP:Bot policy and know how to use a bot. The reason I didn't replay to User talk:BrandonXLF/Archives/2018#Time templates was because there was an other discussion about the same issue elsewhere and all the edits were reverted. I know to not make bold edits on templates and modules now, the test looked fine but were obviously not, so now I've read some more guidelines and am doing more test and making discussion first or at least making edits that were recommended by a suggestion (of course still after testing). – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 01:50, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
I reverted your edit at Module:ISO 3166 because it introduced errors in at least the following articles: Luonan Subdistrict, Page Center, Iowa, River Lydden, Seethangoli. I then checked your contributions to see if I should undo any related changes you might have made to templates or modules. However, there are far too many for me to check. For example, edits to templates shows 52 edits on or after 13 September 2018, and edits to modules shows 107 edits in the same period. Many of these are to sandbox pages so that's good, but the high level of activity is a concern. Johnuniq (talk) 00:12, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Johnuniq: I have no clue how those errors happened the edit shouldn't have introduced those errors, those pages weren't evening calling that function (must of been a bug) and it passed my testing. I'm was doign alot of edits to the sandbox because I'm trying to make a better version of the striping function, which needs a lot of minor fixes. How is this much activity a concern? – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 00:16, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
- I don't want to spend time investigating a complex set of templates/modules to work out exactly what caused the errors in the articles listed above. Before doing anything, I observed that Luonan Subdistrict (like the others) was displaying an ugly error message in the infobox. To check it wasn't a caching issue, I edited the article and previewed it with no change. The preview showed the same error. Then I looked at "related changes" and saw that you had recently edited Module:ISO 3166. I edited the revision of that module just before your edit and previewed how Luonan Subdistrict appeared with the old module. There was no error. I therefore reverted your edit to the module and that fixed the problem in each of the listed articles. It may be that your edit was not at fault—it could, for example, have revealed a problem in some other template/module and that problem might have only been temporary. However, I'm not going to examine exactly what's going on given all the templates/modules recently edited. I cannot reproduce the problem at the moment so have no idea what the fundamental cause was, but it was real as the testing showed. While briefly thinking about that I noticed recent edits to Module:ISO 3166/data/National which may have been relevant. That module is transcluded on 479,882 pages and its history shows an edit war on 12 September 2018. Don't do that. Prepare stuff in a sandbox, test that it works, then deploy the sandbox versions. There should be single edit to the main template/module, and that edit should be to copy the sandbox. Johnuniq (talk) 01:51, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Johnuniq: I know, I made the proper edit then I had to make a edit in the main module, but by the time I was able to make it my edit there was reverted. leading to that. The error could have been because the function has a number in the name of it? – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 01:54, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

A few words of advice...
Since you've had a request for Template Editor declined recently, and you're still active on the templates I'm assuming that you still have it in mind to reapply sometime. Can I offer you some advice?
- There's very little that is urgent. A new change, which isn't an urgent bug-fix, can take its time. Discussions usually go on for at least a week.
- Template talk pages are dull and overlooked places - it helps to solicit more input from the relevant WikiProject talk pages.
- Wikipedians are volunteers who have obligations in the real world, they don't jump to for each request or {{ping}}. Show some patience, & avoid creating the impression that you're in an unnecesary rush.
- Test your changes. In the proper places. Check your test results. Don't just test the conditions you're sure will work or are run-of-the mill. Don't ask others to check the results before you've checked them yourself.
- Repeatedly re-opening the edit requests before addressing all the issues raised in the previous rejection tries everybody's patience and almost guarantees another rejection.
- If you have a bunch of similar requests, make one. Wait for it to be implemented. Wait a little longer to see if it hits any problems in the real world. Then make the rest of the requests citing the first as an example. There's little that's more off-putting than going to User:AnomieBOT/TPERTable to check the work queue and seeing a bunch of changes with no testing, little by the way of rationale, and no precedent.
- Back in the day, when sitting exams, they used to say "show your working". It helps. Comments which defy any verification like "Everything looks fine, I'm done editing it." sound more like proof by assertion and do not help your case.
Feel free to ignore this if you wish, but don't be surprised if the rejections pile up and count against you the next time you apply for TE.
Hope that helps, Cabayi (talk) 21:45, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
- I feel as if I do a few of those things most of the time, but I'll do that for now on, thanks! – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 21:47, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Stichting INGKA Foundation into INGKA Holding. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. Module:Location map/data
The documentation page for Module:Location map/data is full of errors which seem to be related to your recent edits there, despite the fact that a quick look makes it appear you reverted yourself. Perhaps you did something else which is causing those errors? Please have a look. Johnuniq (talk) 05:33, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Johnuniq: I found out the only way to remove them is by removing the module (not the documentation), but I don't know how to tag it. 12:11, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
@JohnBlackburne: There is a strange problem at Module:Location map/data which was recently created and then blanked. For some reason the documentation page is showing tons of errors. I suspect that speedy deleting the page per {{db-author}} would solve the problem if you wouldn't mind. The reason for this request is that there appears to be no way to add db-author to a module page. Johnuniq (talk) 04:04, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
- Not sure why you pinged me. Yes, the problem is the page at Module:Location map/data should not exist, it serves no purpose and is causing the errors as it causes the documentation page to be generated on a page without geographic data. BrandonXLF, if we are correct there is no use for it can you see to it it’s deleted – as long as you make it clear you are the author and want it deleted an admin should have no problems doing so under the speedy deletion policy.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 05:14, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
- I pinged you because an admin is needed and I know you fix pages with errors. {{db-author}} includes "and/or blanked the page" but BrandonXLF could post somewhere to confirm they want the page deleted. Perhaps WP:AN because the technically correct WP:TFD seems over-the-top. Johnuniq (talk) 05:48, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker)
- Johnuniq, JohnB isn't an admin.
- WP:TFD is the way to go - just state that the author wants it speedy deleted WP:G7 and (if it's not Brandon placing the request) link back to Brandon's comment here (Special:Diff/861144140). I've had the same problem with WP:U5 material in users' javascript pages which had to go to WP:MFD. Hope that helps, Cabayi (talk) 08:43, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
- Re JohnBlackburne, omg how did that happen!? Thanks for the info, I must be confused about someone else. Re TFD, I posted here. Johnuniq (talk) 09:31, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
This module is 100% a duplication of existing functionality located inside Module:Math. Stop creating unnnecessary templates and modules, or I will be forced to seek sanctions against you from creating more pointless pages. Please G7 this and save us all the hassle of a pointless TFD with a foregone conclusion. Primefac (talk) 21:36, 30 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Primefac: It is NOT a 100% duplication of math as math does no support median. I made some changes in the sandbox of math that allow it to find the median of a number. If you would apply those changes I'll tag average with G7. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 22:04, 30 September 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your edits to Yonge Street, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the article will look like without actually saving it.
It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 20:27, 2 October 2018 (UTC)

I have reverted your changes to Module:Jcon. Your changes broke at least one page, Ontario Highway 11, due to violating the expensive parser function limit. Your changes also led to unnecessary duplication with Module:Jct. {{Jcon}} now uses the previous module version written in 2014, designed to mimic the original {{jcon}} functionality by acting as an interface to {{jct}}. The data for shields, links, and abbreviations should be added to Module:Road data/strings/CAN/ON, which is used by {{jct}}. Please discuss any further non-trivial changes on the template's talk page or at WT:CRWP. Thank you. -happy5214 06:46, 4 October 2018 (UTC)
- Those expensive call errors are from {{jct}} and not {{jcon}}. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 12:38, 4 October 2018 (UTC)
- If you want to use {{jcon}} then prevent it from returningn the expensive call error, make it return the same output and make it accept the parameters of {{jcon}}. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 12:38, 4 October 2018 (UTC)
- The errors may have been from {{jct}} calls, but the reason was that your version of {{jcon}} unnecessarily called too many expensive parser functions earlier in the RJL. I have reverted your changes again. Please seek consensus and test your changes in a sandbox before making any more changes, as stated by John below. -happy5214 20:06, 4 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Happy5214: I removed the expensive function calls. Please see the message at your talk page. (should of posted here). And I did do testing. Why do you think I didn't? It';s impossible to account for every use case. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 20:09, 4 October 2018 (UTC)

I have just undone your changes to the template and module as introducing errors to multiple articles, such as Kawartha Lakes Road 35. Please be more careful in future; when a module or template is already being used in many pages test your changes first in the sandbox, then seek consensus for your changes in the live versions.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 16:50, 4 October 2018 (UTC)
Template:Lm
I have undone your changes to {{lm}} as unexplained, unnecessary and damaging. The template though not much used has been used, and so changing it breaks those uses. It also contradicts the template’s own documentation under Template:Lm#Usage which says it is for Mediawiki, and breaks the examples under Template:Lm#Examples. There are already templates for use with modules, it makes no sense to modify this one to do the same.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 21:38, 6 October 2018 (UTC)
- @JohnBlackburne: Looking at it uses it is used for modules. I'll fix the documentation. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 21:40, 6 October 2018 (UTC)
- It should not be used for modules, there are already templates for that. If there is a need for another template for module links make a new template, don’t hijack an existing one that has another use.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 22:33, 6 October 2018 (UTC)
- @JohnBlackburne: I'm saying there pages that link to it already assuming it's used for modules. If you want to use it for WikiMedia pages you needed to fix all those transclusions. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 22:35, 6 October 2018 (UTC)
- It has existed as a template for mediawiki links for a long time. Again, if you want a template for modules then use an existing one or create one. Don’t hijack an existing template that has another purpose.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 22:39, 6 October 2018 (UTC)
- @JohnBlackburne: I'm saying alot of modules pages use it to link to the module pages. Look at the transclusions. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 22:41, 6 October 2018 (UTC)
- As it existed as a mediawiki template up until a couple of weeks ago, and the change was not advertised or discussed, no-one should have been using it for linking to modules, especially as there are existing templates for that. Again, you have given no reason why this existing, longstanding template has been changed like this.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 22:45, 6 October 2018 (UTC)
- @JohnBlackburne: I don't care what it does, along as the transclusion aren't broken. I changed it to fix the transclusions. I created Template:lmw that can be used if needed, else redirected . – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 22:48, 6 October 2018 (UTC)

Edit summaries
I have seen it mentioned a few times now, and looking through your contribution history I have to agree - you really need to start using edit summaries, and using the "Preview" option so you're not making 10 edits when 1 would do. The former needs to be done so that editors know what you've changed (in general) without having to look at the diff, and the latter is so that one doesn't have to scroll through a half-dozen changes when looking at diffs. Thank you. Primefac (talk) 02:55, 7 October 2018 (UTC)
AdWords to Google Ads CP move
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give AdWords a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Google Ads. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution.
The reason I have reverted or rollbacked all your CP move edits is that the title "Google Ads" has been opposed by a discussion here (Talk:AdWords#Requested move 24 July 2018. We need to confirm whether "Google Ads" is the common name, rather than "AdWords". I suggest you start a request move discussion in the talk page as I did before. For article page move problems caused by redirects namespace, it can be done here (Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests. Just submit a request here, rather than doing a CP move and requesting a histmerge afterward. Cheers. –Wefk423 (talk) 09:50, 8 October 2018 (UTC)

I saw that you have created a request move discussion in Talk:AdWords, but the problem is that the request was not made with a substituted template (see Template:Requested move). But here's a reminder on using substituted template for RMs. Cheers. –Wefk423 (talk) 15:08, 9 October 2018 (UTC)

Rollback granted
Hi Example. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have temporarily enabled rollback on your account for 1 week. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback.
Please also see my comment at your initial RfP:
The outcome of prior permissions applications gave me pause, so please use the week to demonstrate careful and appropriate use of the right. If you are not intending to volunteer much in the coming week, let me know and I shall grant a further temporary right. You can otherwise re-apply for unconditional rights at any time for any administrator to review.
Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! AGK [•] 17:45, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
- @AGK: The right has expired. How do my edits look? Note: Although Huggle doesn't use it for every edit (I think), I still need the right to use Huggle. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 21:02, 12 October 2018 (UTC)

Your changes to to "0s" decades and centuries
Check what templates links to "0s". These year-navigation templates all assume that the decade is the primary topic. You can't just boldly make the kind of changes you've been making without breaking stuff. A lot of template work was required to move the years AD 1 through AD 10 off of the primary topic for the bare number. Note that 11 the year is ambiguous, as are years/numbers up to 100, while 101 and above are years. These kind of changes should be discussed first, as they require a lot of back-end work to coordinate the changes so that they are made smoothly without too much disruption of the navigation templates and navigation between related articles. I'm going to revert some of your changes so that further discussion and analysis can be done. Please take a look at Talk:AD 1 and Talk:AD 1/Archive 1 to get an idea of the potential complexity involved in this sort of change. – wbm1058 (talk) 13:18, 17 October 2018 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Template:User in Africa. When you were adding content to the page, you added duplicate arguments to a template which can cause issues with how the template is rendered. - You need to stop your use of AWB immediately. You are introducing duplicate parameters all over the place! --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 23:06, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
Smash!
You've been squished by a whale!
Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know you did something really silly.
Seriously dude you need to just stop. You're still doing it. I just reverted another NEW one. [3] We all make mistakes, I've made my fair share, but you CONTINUE to make them. Just stop using AWB unless you are going to manually check your edits when you clearly are not doing. Also your edit summary still says you are removing duplicated params. SLOW DOWN. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 23:14, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
- I'm checking them. I have no clue why it's doing it. I'm just going to "revert" all my edits. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 23:16, 21 October 2018 (UTC)

Template:Intel
Your attempts to introduce unnecessary colouring to Template:Intel have now been reverted by two editors. this serves as your 3RR warning. Frietjes (talk) 16:43, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Userbox-s
A tag has been placed on Template:Userbox-s requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 20:58, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
- Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Template:Userbox-s. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Seriously you should know this by now. - My bad – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 21:49, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
- You really need to just stop. The test cases being broken doesn't warrant you redirecting it to another page. When you do that you are removing all of the tracking categories that us Template Editors are using to keep track of those broken test cases. You don't know what you are doing so seriously just stop. I know you are trying to be helpful but you are breaking things left and right with your incessant need to get the last word and be the last editor of record. And turning around and accusing editors who have WAY more experience than you of violating rules just because you don't like the outcome is simply ridiculous. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 21:55, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

Please slow down
Brandon, please slow down. I understand that you're editing in good faith and you want to improve Wikipedia, but you're moving too fast and breaking things. In addition to that, you're interfering when other people try to fix the problems you cause. For that, I've revoked your AWB flag, because I don't think you should be making automated edits. In addition to that, please note that if you continue to cause disruption, albeit in good faith, I may have no other choice but to block you. Salvio Let's talk about it! 22:03, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

I'd recommend that you refrain from creating any new pages (articles, redirects, or templates) for the near future (at least a month). I'm not going to request a community-endorsed topic ban at ANI yet. power~enwiki (π, ν) 01:19, 24 October 2018 (UTC)

- Again, I will defer to Salvio giuliano and EdJohnston to decide what you can and cannot do. I am NOT an admin so I cannot make those rulings. My personal advice would be spend some time looking at the wikipedia backlog and contributing in other ways. Can I recommend cleaning out Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images? This is an almost daily task...
- You were blocked because of your work on templates. Personal advice would be not to IMMEDIATELY jump right back into editing templates, even if you are being careful and only editing in the sandbox. Let some time pass. Then, slowly and I mean SLOWLY return to working on templates and modules. If you need help, reach out but make sure you are listening. Two of the editors you picked a fight with a few days ago are a few of the most senior editors with templates. Particularly Frietjes who is in a league of her own. Bottom line my friend, you rubbed a number of people the wrong way and gave yourself a bit of a reputation. Now that is nothing that cannot be mended (my first couple of YEARS on Wikipedia I was pissing people off left and right)! But you need to focus on making sure you move forward properly. I'm taking the time to give you a detailed response because I think your heart is in the right place and you could be an awesome contributor to Wikipedia. That being said, I will assure you that none of us will be very forgiving of repeated transgressions. I won't speak for anyone else, but from my point of view, if you resume your previous behavior and attitude, you will be 100% on your own. I'll have no interest in working with you or helping you out. Show a little good faith by helping out with some of the WP:BACKLOG. Consider it a penance if you want. Anyway, just my 2 cents. As I said, I'm not an admin so I can't tell you what to do or not do. This is just my advice. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 20:02, 24 October 2018 (UTC)

- I'll tell you right now that if THAT is the attitude you're going to adopt, then you are going to be just fine. I'll be keeping an eye on you and if I see good things, I'll be very happy to work with you and help you in the future. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 20:07, 24 October 2018 (UTC)

Want to make my article visible in google!
It’s really important to make my article visible because people from USA wants to read it from Wikipedia by searching that name in google! Trust me it’s really important article for an well establish artist ! Help me please Shaheba Sultana (talk) 15:43, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Shaheba Sultana: You have to wait until google's web crawler sees the article. This may take a few week or even just a few hours. Normally Wikipedia articles are put on the first page and in many cases the first spot. All you have to do is wait. Until then I recommend that you cut down on the amount of external links, so the warning can be removed and you expand the article a little more, by ME or another editor, as you have been warned sever times not to remove it on your talk page. I'm noticing on the talk page it says you are connected to Adarsh Alphons. Is this true, if you are you need to follow the proper guidelines. If you need anymore help, please let me know! – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 19:49, 25 October 2018 (UTC)

Small mistake on {{spellnum}}
Hi Brandon:
With this edit, you introduced a small error to the template: there is a line break after the </noinclude> tag that ends up as part of the template output. This shows up in particular when the output is used inside a table. You almost certainly already know this, but when you add a noinclude section to a template, make sure there is nothing, not even a line break, that gets added to the visible output. It's unfortunate that MediaWiki won't ignore such a line break, since it would be helpful to make the template code easier to read, but that's the way it is at present. —swpbT go beyond 17:37, 29 October 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for catching that! We're just going to have to live with the way it is. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 19:40, 29 October 2018 (UTC)
Nomination for deletion of Template:Point
Template:Point has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 16:20, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
Page creation again
A week ago you agreed not to create any new pages for at least a month. But only a week later and you are creating modules and templates. And again the template is one we do not need, in this case because there is already a template that does the same.
Please stop making modules and templates, as you already agreed to. Take some time to familiarise yourself with the encyclopaedia, working on other things, whether making new articles, improving existing ones or dealing with backlogs of editing tasks. Once you know your way around the encyclopaedia you will have a much better handle on what templates exist, and so be better able to spot opportunities for improvement in them. Many still could do with converting to Lua, for example.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 16:35, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- @EdJohnston: please see JohnBlackburne's comments above. I had hoped we were past this issue with Brandon but seems like it has continued. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 17:09, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

Primefac (talk) 03:27, 12 November 2018 (UTC)No editing in the Template and Module namespaces (10 and 828) with the exception of the sandbox/testcases.
An attempt will be made to use edit summaries whenever possible.
An attempt will be made to limit the edit rate per page by using the Preview option more judiciouslyA failure to hold with the final two points (assuming multiple warnings are left) will be considered disruptive editing.
It's not just creating unnecessary templates that's the issue; you've been disruptive in multiple areas recently. When you create a pointless template, it wastes time because it has to go through TFD. When you make a dozen edits to a single template or article without a single edit summary you waste the time of the people trying to (quickly) figure out what you're doing. Heck, just the fact that it takes you a quick dozen edits (even though you claim you use the preview option) wastes our time. When you refuse to accept the possibility that what you did with AWB was disruptive and kept doing it, you waste our time. I have spent an inordinate amount of time cleaning up after you, and so obviously I'm heavily involved, but you just don't seem to get that almost everything you've done is disruptive.
Now, in fairness, the overall result of some of your work has been useful - you haven't been a complete net negative. It's just the way that you edit that I find extremely problematic. Primefac (talk) 20:47, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- @EdJohnston and Primefac: I'm inclined to side with Brandon here. It wasn't ever really made clear that Brandon was not to touch that namespace after the block was lifted. Obviously I defer to you, but I'd recommend reducing this from a month to maybe a few days and making it crystal clear to Brandon to stay out of the Module and Template namespace. Don't even leave comments on the talk pages. This includes documentation pages. Just work on something else. I'm happy to monitor them. If they do it again, block for 6 months. Just my 2 cents. I think this is a case of someone who really is trying to do the right thing but just gets too eager. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 20:51, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- Zackmann08, don't get me wrong, I'm not entirely against Brandon getting unblocked (and I do agree with you re: not editing Template/Module spaces) but I felt it necessary to comment on the other things that I've noticed. Primefac (talk) 21:06, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) @Primefac: I completely understand my use of AWB was disruptive and just purely idiotic and I will never do that again (or at least do my best to prevent that). I'm trying to get use to edit summaries, but when I do use the preview option, it doesn't let me add an edit summary, It would be nice if there was a userscript for that, but I can't find one, do you know of any? I'm always open to suggestions to my editing and I can change the way I edit if you give me the tools and resources to do so. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 20:58, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- I know, and I didn't necessarily mean to say that you've been entirely disruptive with AWB, but the conversation when you started making mistakes read (to me) like you were trying to carry on editing despite being asked not to. As for edit summaries - I find it highly unlikely that the Preview option in VE doesn't actually allow for adding edit summaries, but I've also never used VE so I wouldn't know. - I ended up making the proper edit, but there were many issue I faced with communication and with AWB. As for the edit summaries with preview: https://ibb.co/gJF4a0 – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 21:10, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Primefac: Looking at it, I could press return to save form, I've alway just pressed publish changes and then realize it didn't let me enter a edit summary. Oh well. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 21:12, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- It is hard for me to trust any more voluntary assurances by User:BrandonXLF. Each time we think he now sees the problem, and will stop. But each time he doesn't stop. As User:Primefac said above, "..you just don't seem to get that almost everything you've done is disruptive." The thing about being unable to use edit summaries is particularly hard to believe. In spite of everything that's been going on, BrandonXLF has also applied to have AWB restored. I don't think he is getting the message. EdJohnston (talk) 21:13, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- @EdJohnston: I get the point. I just have to learn, now if you help me learn and not just block me and give me warnings that would be much, much more helpful. If you could help me become better editor I would really appreciate that. I was just going to use AWB to fix spelling and other clean up task as it a way to edit without getting into trouble. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 21:19, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- I would encourage any reviewing admin to check out their 2018 talk page archives. It is full of notices regarding their editing. Granted, they are almost entirely related to edits in the template/module namespaces (mostly "your edit broke things"), but in the last three months that's accounted for somewhere in the neighbourhood of 50-80% of their edits (since it looks like the vast majority of their user-space edits are to their own subpages). So... one one expect to see a high correlation between the two. Primefac (talk) 21:28, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- @EdJohnston and Primefac: I agree with a lot of what has been said. The fact that Brandon reapplied for WP:AWB is particularly concerning. I don't really care what you are doing... To apply for that back so soon after a block does demonstrate that you just don't get it. That being said, here is what I would suggest.
- 1) Brandon withdraws all request for use of WP:AWB and has all extra rights removed (no rollback, no autoconfirmed, etc).
- 2) Brandon agrees not to touch the Template or Module spaces again, for any reason, INCLUDING talk pages, for a period of AT LEAST 2 months (start of 2019). You see a problem or want something fixed, post on my talk page.
- 3) Brandon agrees to spend the next two weeks working on the backlog. I actually pinged him earlier today about collaborating on some backlog cleanup and he expressed interest. This is not glorious stuff... It is cleaning up of maintenance categories that are in the backlog. Stuff no one likes doing but that needs to be done. I'd consider this a bit of penance and might actually help him learn.
- 4) Brandon agrees that if he violates this agreement, in its finalized form, that he will be blocked for 6 months and there won't be any discussion about it.
- I realize this is not exactly orthodox... but trying to do the right thing. Thoughts? --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 21:32, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- I'd like to keep rollback and auto confirm so I can use huggle, I have to do some kind of editing. There's many template and module I created that I want to work on (such as Module:Jcon and Module:Outdent), I can restrict these edits to your talkpage as you said, but I'd need to use their sanboxes to make the edits drafts and documentations to update usage after the edit is done. I'd also like to be able to add TfD notices to templates. I feel like a lot of the backlog can be fixed with regex and AWB, but doing it manually is fine. The last part seems a little harsh, it should depend how what I do. Part 3 seams fine. For part 1, I'll withdraw the request. For part 2 I feel like that needs a lot of refining. I'm not agreeing to it, yet, but it's definitely a start. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 21:46, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- You know I'm kinda the only one advocating for you here... You can edit without using huggle. Your edit history shows you cannot be trusted to be using tools such as huggle. Frankly I don't think you should even be using a visual editor. I'm trying to propose a path that would let you come back sooner and all you are saying is that it is too harsh and not fair. I give up. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 21:50, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- @EdJohnston and Primefac: whatever the path forward, I think the extra rights afforded to Brandon should be removed. No reason he should have rollback permissions. I forgot that Extendedconfirmed is an automatic permission upon 30 days. But lets remove rollback for sure. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 21:52, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- For what it's worth this isn't necessarily a "consensus" situation, and I genuinely have no opinions on whether the responding admin decides to keep or revoke that perm (or any others). I'm happy to respond to any queries (I'm watching the page), but at this point I think I've said all I can (if not more than necessary). - @Zackmann08: I understand you're trying to help. All I really want is to know how you guys want me to edit. Everyone's just saying I',mm editing wrong, so I correct that mistake and then another thing happens. I just don't like the agreement you came up with. I'm fairly yonge and don't have the experience you have in life. If you could "mentor" me like, you said earlier that would be really helpful. I try to do my best, but with only warnings and no guidance to fix the issues, that's becoming a little hard. All I want to do is perform my edits the peoperway, but as of now, no one really helped me with that. If you could help, or anyone could, that would be really, really helpful and would mean a lot for me. I hope you understand I only want good for this wiki and mean no harm. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 22:09, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

- Hi BrandonXLF, I'm Kevin. I've spent some time reviewing this, and I have a hunch that you're understanding that the community has concerns with your edits a bit better now. I can tell you're invested in Wikipedia and want to improve this encyclopedia, so (if Primefac agrees) let's try to work something out here. For a while (that is, until you've convinced an administrator like me or Primefac that issues won't recur), you agree not to edit template/module pages, and you agree to refrain from using automated tools like AWB. Huggle, that's fine, I'm not seeing immediate issues there (unless someone else disagrees). I'm also personally inclined to let you edit template sandboxes and talk pages, but I hope you'll be judicious (don't focus on templates/modules!!) and my strongest recommendation is that you turn your attention somewhere else for now – article content work, or perhaps recent changes patrol if you must. Also, you really need to include edit summaries – make it a habit for every edit. I often use VE when doing article work; you can definitely include summaries. If you find yourself forgetting to include summaries, it's probably a sign you're editing too fast and not putting enough thought into each edit. For example, two weeks ago, you made about 30 edits on Template:ON former/testcases in about 23 minutes. There's no real reason to be editing that fast, and especially when you're editing the same page a whole bunch of times in a row – use previews! Anyway, if those conditions are acceptable to you, I will ask Primefac if they agree to an unblock here. (To be absolutely clear, these agreements will be binding and violations will lead to swift blocks – the community needs to be able to trust what you say.) Best, Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 01:16, 10 November 2018 (UTC)
- Kevin, Thank you for reviewing this, I 100% accept and agree with these conditions as they seem very reasonable. I will refrain from the template and module spaces for a while as you said. Being able to edit the sandboxes and talk pages of the spaces would be really appreciated. I will work on including edit summaries and use previews, It's completely my fault I'm not, but what I'm saying is the software doesn't force (or push) you too do so (in my opinion). I'll stay away from automated tools for a while as you recommended. I will not be focusing on templates and modules, but if you allow me to edit sandboxes can I also edit testcases to test my edits? I really appreciate your understanding of the situation and your recommendations. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 01:28, 10 November 2018 (UTC)
- It sounds like I'm only taking these as recommendation in my reply above, but I understand these are conditions (and thus not recommendations) for my unblock and they cannot be broken. As I said above, I accept these conditions. Thanks, – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 01:35, 10 November 2018 (UTC)
- @L235: Thanks for reviewing the whole situation. Nice to have someone with a fresh set of eyes looking at it. I've been on both sides of this, both supporting a block and very vocal about lifting the block. I've also offered on multiple occasions to be helpful to Brandon. The one thing I will say is that I feel very strongly Brandon should stay out of the template and module namespaces 100% for a period of time after the block is lifted. The fact that they continue to try to find ways to edit sandboxes or test cases demonstrates (at least to me) a lack of getting it. Their continued ok well no templates, but what about template sandboxes? No sandboxes, ok, well can I still update the documentation? There is so much work to be done that doesn't involve templates or modules, areas where he has demonstrated time and time again that he just causes problems. So I would support immediately lifting the block but under the condition that there is a complete ban on any edits in the Template or Module namespace until such time as an admin says otherwise. To me this includes sandbox, documentation, testcase, talk, ANY page that starts with "Template" or "Module". Just work on something else for a while.
- Additionally I find it concerning that Brandon continues to push off the blame onto other software saying that it doesn't force you to add an edit summary... Maybe stop using that software then? --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 01:46, 10 November 2018 (UTC)
- I'm not trying to push the blame to the software. I understand it's my fault for not using edit summeries, I really do not have an excuse. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 02:06, 10 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Primefac: It looks like L235 wants you say of you agree of not, so we can try to work something out. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 16:22, 11 November 2018 (UTC)

To sum up Kevin's points above, it looks like we have the following unblock conditions:
- No editing in the Template and Module namespaces (10 and 828) for 6 months, with the exception of the sandbox/testcases.
- An attempt will be made to use edit summaries whenever possible.
- An attempt will be made to limit the edit rate per page (as mentioned, 23 edits in 23 minutes on a single page is a bit much) by using the Preview option more judiciously
- A failure to hold with the final two points (assuming multiple warnings are left) will be considered disruptive editing.
If Kevin and Brandon are okay with this, I'll go ahead and unblock. Primefac (talk) 16:35, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Primefac: That's seams basically fine, but Kevin was also saying he's is inclined to let me edit the template/module sandboxes and talk pages, of course the talk pages aren't in namespaces 10 and 828, but the sandboxes are. I was also requesting the ability to edit testcases. How do you feel about that? Also, for the 6 month I can't edit those namespaces, is there a particular editor I ask to do the edit or do I just do the normal edit request, these edits would likely be small (such as adding a like to a navbox etc). – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 16:46, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- Fair point re: sandboxing, I've amended. As for making the edit - yes, you should put in an edit request. Primefac (talk) 16:47, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
@Primefac: Ok, just so I don't into anymore trouble, sandboxing includes testcases, right? I need to edit them to make a proper edit request. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 16:49, 11 November 2018 (UTC)- I now see you said testcases are fine, the rest seems ok. I may have to ask to edit documentation pages later, but for now, those conditions are accepted by me. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 16:51, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- I suggest that the restrictions, rather than lasting a finite six months, persist until an administrator determines that the issues that led to this block will not recur (which may be more or less than six months). Other than that, this looks good to me. Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 22:35, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- I just want to voice that I'm still concerned that once this block is lifted, we are going to see Brandon doing nothing but editing Template Sandboxes and testcases. I truly hope that I am wrong. I am both willing and eager to be proven wrong here! But I want to make sure that the admins here keep an eye on the edits once the block is lifted. I could see Brandon very easily failing into the same pattern of disruptive behavior with editing of Sandboxes. Brandon, please keep in mind that a sandbox doesn't mean that the template is not used elsewhere. Yes, the sandbox is for testing, but breaking the sandbox can have consequences elsewhere. I strongly urge you to avoid template editing for a while. I AM NOT an admin so I can't tell you what to do... But I have offered to help you and tutor you on multiple occasions. I can tell you right now that if your block is lifted and the first thing you do is make 500 edits to testcases and sandboxes, this is going to signal WP:NOTGETTINGIT loud and clear. You won't be in violation of you restrictions and won't be banned based on what has been said above, but it will demonstrate to people like me who were and are happy to help you, that you just don't get it. If and when your ban is lifted, please realize that you are going to under a microscope for a while. Think twice before clicking save each time. Just my advice. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 23:51, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- Primefac, what do you think about Kevin's suggestion about changing the six month module/template edit block to
until an administrator determines that the issues that led to this block will not recur
? I feel like it's better than the six month, as it's more dependent on my behaviour and less of a (random) set amount of time. Of course, it's up to you. As for Zackmann08, I don't have any plans of touching the template or module spaces for a while. Although it may seems like I don't, I really appreciate the help and advice you've been giving me, I hope you can still give me more, I know I still have a lot to learn and to do. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 01:22, 12 November 2018 (UTC)

Category creation
Hello, BrandonXLF,
I see that you are blocked and you will not be doing any editing until (if) you are unblocked. But I'm tagging a lot of empty categories you created for deletion.
In the future, please do not create categories that have no pages associated with them. You can tag articles/pages with categories that "should" exist and then the red-linked categories will be listed and we can decide whether to create categories for them then. But do not make category pages before there are articles/pages that utilize them. Thanks. Liz Read! Talk! 03:14, 7 November 2018 (UTC)

Queen Street draft
Hi. Just letting you know that I moved Queen Street (Toronto)/temp to User:BrandonXLF/Queen Street (Toronto)/temp since temp pages and other drafts don't belong in mainspace. Cheers, Pichpich (talk) 02:03, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
You should not have closed your own move proposal for Queen Street (Toronto). This is a violation of the rules at Wikipedia:Requested moves/Closing instructions#Who can close requested moves. You have a clear conflict of interest in the outcome of that discussion. The request was barely open for a day before you closed it; it should have been allowed to run for a full seven days. Then there's the issue that it wasn't really a move but a copy-paste or merge, and there are separate templates for proposing merges. You've either not read or ignored any number of rules that you've broken, without a clear rationale for why the rules needed to be broken. wbm1058 (talk) 22:03, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
- I've undone that series of edits. Primefac (talk) 22:22, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
- And here we go again... --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 22:22, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
- I'll actually expand a bit upon what Wbm1058 is saying - in addition to closing your own RM, you did a bunch of copy/paste page moves (see the section below for my feelings on that particular issue) as well as merging the talk pages, something that should almost never be done. There are very specific circumstances for that sort of thing, and this was not it. If three pages are merged together, their talk pages generally stay where they were (even though they might get replaced by a #REDIRECT). Primefac (talk) 22:25, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
The more I see of your editing actions, the more I don't like. You should not cite Wikipedia as a reference in articles, that's WP:CIRCULAR referencing. I'm going to revert your actions until I get back to the last clean version of the articles. Given what I see farther up this talkpage, you should realize you're skating on thin ice. wbm1058 (talk) 22:25, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
- OK, I see that Primefac is taking care of this. I'll leave it to them, as it's best to not have multiple editors doing admin stuff at once. wbm1058 (talk) 22:36, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
- wbm1058, I think I got everything pertaining to this particular RM, but please feel free to double-check my work. Primefac (talk) 23:25, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
Copy/paste page moves
You cannot, should not, just... stop doing them. Copy/paste page moves are 99.999% of the time not appropriate. Request a histmerge, ask for a page swap/technical merge, G6, whatever, but STOP DOING MOVES BY COPY/PASTE. In this particular case I am referring to the Draft:Deltarune / Deltarune thing, but this is far from the first time you've done this, and you've definitely been told about it before. Primefac (talk) 22:22, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
- Ok. I was confused by the wording of the G6 notice. But I'll use it. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 03:05, 16 November 2018 (UTC)

Edit protected requests for templates
If you wouldn't mind for the future, could you edit request all template-related changes (complex or not) into the edit template protected queue? That will probably bring a better set of eyes to the change you want made. --Izno (talk) 18:40, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Izno: Is it ok if I put very basic changes such as adding a link to an infobox in the semi queue and all other complex(ish) changes in the Template protected queue? – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 18:45, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- At the least. My thought was that putting them into the template queue will probably get them seen quicker by people familiar with the fact you have a topic ban and less likely to be seen by someone who is not, which would make the note you've been leaving about that topic ban a little less important. Not a big thing either way. --Izno (talk) 18:51, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Izno: I'll consider that, definitely for complex changes and maybe for smaller ones. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 18:53, 1 December 2018 (UTC)

Ok Brandon. So you still looking for a chance to shine? I might just have a task for you... Take a look at {{Chembox}} and you will see a cluster... I'm finally starting to convert it. Any interest in helping me write test cases? --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 05:39, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Zackmann08: Sure. What do you want me to do? – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 13:19, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
- I'm working on converting {{Chembox}} to use {{Infobox}} as a base. Take a look at {{Infobox chemical}}. I'm looking for feedback. What issues do you see? There there are MANY of them as this is still a WIP... But I need a second set of eyes. Additionally, if you want to start creating test cases that would be super helpful. The test cases need to compare {{chembox}} to {{Infobox chemical}}. I have a generic testcase that assumes every possible value is being supplied, but need to have test cases for some of the logic. No rush, but a second set of eyes would be great. Right now, don't waste time on documentation. That will come later. Also please remember that your restrictions are still in place. I welcome your feedback, but please confine your edits to the testcases. If you see something in the template that needs to be changed, let me know and I'll get right on it. The template isn't live so no matter how broken it is, the only place it shows up is the testcases. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 17:47, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
- Ok. I'll look into it. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 21:05, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Zackmann08: I can see that
|Section9=
is missing stright off the bat. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 00:18, 22 November 2018 (UTC)- Easy fix. What else? --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 00:43, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Zackmann08: You should add {{Chembox_parametercheck}} right into the template in my opinion, all it does is takes parameters, does some math and adds them to categories, {{infobox drug}} uses them too. It also looks like {{Chembox Footer/tracking}} needs to be added in someway. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 00:53, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
- Yea {{Chembox_parametercheck}} is a custom written a very buggy version of Module:Check for unknown parameters. I'm just going to use the standard check for unknown module this time around. Figuring out {{Chembox Footer/tracking}} right now. Any interest in helping with the template data or are you bored with this? --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 00:59, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Zackmann08: I still want to help, but my computer is down so I can't really edit. I'm still interested, but I can't at the moment, I think it's a small issue, so I sould be able to help soon. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 02:54, 24 November 2018 (UTC)

- @Zackmann08: I got my computer working again. I just got the motherboard and it stopped working I didn't even have it for a week. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 17:06, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Zackmann08: I can't really help with the template data, unless you want me to transfer it to the sandbox so I can edit it. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 17:09, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- The template data is stored on the documentation page so I think you are safe. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 19:42, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Zackmann08: I don't think because that technically isn't "sandboxing". Primefac, am I able to edit documentation pages? – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 19:50, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- No. There's no reason to be changing "live" TemplateData in a /doc until the template is actually updated. Primefac (talk) 20:07, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Primefac: The template is updated, but the TemplateData isn't. Can I update documentation pages after the template has been update? – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 20:09, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Primefac: just to clarify a bit more. This is a massive new template that I've built with another user. The template data is lacking and needs to be filled in. I specifically requested Brandon help out and he is willing. The template has already been updated, it would just be a mater of filling in the gaps in the TemplateData. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 20:10, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- Okay, if you're signing off on it. Primefac (talk) 20:23, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Primefac:Okay, just to clarify, I can update documentation pages to reflect the current version of their template and I can do sandboxing, correct? – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 20:25, 25 November 2018 (UTC)

You can update this /doc because it's a large task, you're familiar with it, and Zachmann is running the whole thing. Primefac (talk) 20:27, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- Ok – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 20:30, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Primefac: many thanks. Brandon I'm pretty sure we are all on the same page but just so there is no ambiguity I'm going to restate it below (I know part of the issue last time was that it was not clearly stated what the conditions were).
- You are permitted to update the documentation for {{Infobox chemical}} and all subtemplates there of. EXCLUSIVELY for the purpose of adding template data. All other conditions of your block remain in place for this and all other templates.
- In the event that you have any questions, do not hesitate to ping me. I should be online most of the day. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 20:55, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Zackmann08: Have you considered adding the 8 main subpages of Template:Infobox chemical right into the template? This would mean less templates would be used (faster load times maybe) and it would make sure all uses of the infobox are unified. These would be Template:Infobox chemical/explosive, Template:Infobox chemical/hazards, Template:Infobox chemical/identifiers, Template:Infobox chemical/pharmacology, Template:Infobox chemical/properties, Template:Infobox chemical/related, Template:Infobox chemical/structure and Template:Infobox chemical/thermochemistry. This would be best done before the template is used. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 03:26, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
- Yup. There are a number of reason's we aren't doing it. Mainly because the users of {{Chembox}} opposed it. So one step at a time. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 03:38, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
- Ok, I think it should be done at some point as I don't know of any other infoboxes that have this system, but as you said. one step at a time. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 03:39, 26 November 2018 (UTC)

@Zackmann08: I think I see another "issue". The infobox above parameter currently is {{#if:{{{Name|}}}|{{{Name}}}|{{PAGENAME}}}}
. The if statement is not needed can can be replaced with {{{Name|{{PAGENAME}}}}}
. I was also wondering if I can edit the Usage section of the documentation as some of the description of the parameters don't align with the parameter, making it confusing to read and understand (this is apparent at the end of Medium form and throughout Full form. I also wanted to add descriptions to a right column for Small, simple form to make using the template easier. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 05:22, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
- You have my go-ahead to update the documentation per the above description. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 06:54, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Zackmann08: I noticed that {{Parameter names example}} isn't showing the sections, so I created a template a User:BrandonXLF/B that would allow the sections to be shown. Can you create a template (maybe Template:Infobox chemical/doc/show sections?) with the contents of User:BrandonXLF/B so those sections can be displayed in {{Parameter names example}} on the doc page? See User:BrandonXLF/sandbox/4 for proof that it works. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 18:57, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Zackmann08: Or | rowcellstyle7=display:none etc could be removed? It's probably better to keep it as it prevents misuse of the section parameters, but it's an alternative. – BrandonXLF (t@lk) 03:00, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

Modules
Dear Brandon,
Recently, I have noticed you submitting multiple edit requests for the module and template namespaces. There is nothing wrong with this, but after hearing about your T-ban I read through some of your talk page archives to find out the full story. Reading about your extensive experience in both namespaces, I was wondering if you would be willing to teach me how to use the module namespace?
@Zackmann08 and Primefac: to check that this would be okay or for other suggestions about mentors.
I'm really interested in learning how modules work, but I haven't been able to find a lot of explanations.
Thanks,
--DannyS712 (talk) 08:18, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
