333-blue 13:39, 7 April 2016 (UTC)Speedy deletion nomination of Mikael Brandrup
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Mikael Brandrup requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. [edit]Hello! Thank you for your recent contributions to Karen Bystedt. I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:
|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]
Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:
|image=SomeImage.jpg
.
There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption
. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!! Robert McClenon (talk) 02:04, 4 October 2016 (UTC)License tagging for File:ArtistChristinaAngelina.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:ArtistChristinaAngelina.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 06:06, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:ArtistChristinaAngelina.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:ArtistChristinaAngelina.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
ATTENTION: This is an automated, BOT-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate your file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Deletion pending for File:Artist Colette Miller with her angel wings.jpeg
[edit]Hello, MissLizy1223. Some time ago, a file you uploaded — File:Artist Colette Miller with her angel wings.jpeg — was tagged with {{OTRS pending}}, indicating that you (or perhaps the copyright holder if you did not create this image) submitted a statement of permission to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. Though there is often a backlog processing messages received at this address, we should have received your message by now.
- If you have not submitted (or forwarded) a statement of permission, please send it immediately to permissions-en@wikimedia.org and let us know at the OTRS noticeboard that you have done so.
- If you have already sent this message, it is possible that there was a problem receiving it. Please re-send it to permissions-en@wikimedia.org and let us know at the OTRS noticeboard that you have done so.
If we don't hear from you within one week, the file will be deleted. If we can help you, please feel free to ask at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 15:34, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
Hanksy
[edit]Thank you so much for these comments, [[User talk:MusikAnimal|! I really appreciate your taking the time to explain the edits and now I know how to improve my edits on future pages.
Hey, thanks for your help with Hanksy! Awesome work :) A few things to keep in mind: Try to see if links you ad go to disambiguation pages. This is something we try not to do, instead linking to the actual page we want. So instead of Ovation TV, we want Ovation (U.S. TV channel). Next, I know there's a lot to learn, but there is a manual of style that we try to keep all content in line with. In your case, keep in mind that we use typewriter quotations, as with "
, as opposed to the typographic “
, and '
instead of ‘
, etc. Finally, section headings should not be in bold, per WP:SECTIONS. Let me know if you need any help, and again, thanks for your fine contributions! — MusikAnimal talk 23:41, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not use thumbnails inside of infoboxes as you did to Hanksy. Note that this is your second warning regarding this issue. Continuing to add thumbnails will be seen as disruptive editing. For more information please see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE. When adding an image, instead of doing:
|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]
You can simply supply the name of the image. So in this case just do:
|image=SomeImage.jpg
.
There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption
. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello MissLizy1223, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Draft:Serapian have been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 00:19, 15 March 2017 (UTC)

ArbCom 2017 election voter message
[edit]Hello, MissLizy1223. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Parachute (company)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Parachute (company), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Legacypac (talk) 12:05, 18 May 2018 (UTC)Mandatory paid editing disclosure
[edit]Hi MissLizy1223. I work on conflict of interest issues here in Wikipedia.
Would you please review the notice below, and reply here? Thanks.
Hello MissLizy1223. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, and that you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to Black hat SEO.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:MissLizy1223. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=MissLizy1223|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you answer this message. Jytdog (talk) 18:36, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hello and thank you for your email, I'm happy to have the opportunity to clarify your question. I do not receive compensation for my edits so am not a paid advocate. If moving forward in page creation this changes, I will absolutely cite my work in the way you outlined and am grateful you sent over that code for me to use. In the meantime, is there anything else I can do to clear up any remaining confusion so as to keep editing? Thank you for your time.— Preceding unsigned comment added by MissLizy1223 (talk • contribs) 18:49, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for replying! Quick note on the logistics of discussing things on Talk pages, which are essential for everything that happens here. In Talk page discussions, we "thread" comments by indenting (see WP:THREAD) - when you reply to someone, you put a colon in front of your comment, which the Wikipedia software will render into an indent when you save your edit; if the other person has indented once, then you indent twice by putting two colons in front of your comment, which the WP software converts into two indents, and when that gets ridiculous you reset back to the margin (or "outdent") by putting this {{od}} in front of your comment. This also allows you to make it clear if you are also responding to something that someone else responded to if there are more than two people in the discussion; in that case you would indent the same amount as the person just above you in the thread. I hope that all makes sense. And at the end of the comment, please "sign" by typing exactly four (not 3 or 5) tildas "~~~~" which the WP software converts into a date stamp and links to your talk and user pages when you save your edit. That is how we know who said what to whom and when.
- Please be aware that threading and signing are fundamental etiquette here, as basic as "please" and "thank you", and continually failing to thread and sign communicates rudeness, and eventually people may start to ignore you (see here).
- I know this is insanely archaic and unwieldy, but this is the software environment we have to work on. Sorry about that. Will reply on the substance in a second... Jytdog (talk) 18:54, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
- So... thanks again for your note. Your editing is quote promotional. Many of your articles include citations to artandseeking.com and interviews there with Lizy Dastin. Artandseeking.com appears to be a business.
- The query about "paid editing" is a broad one, asking you to disclose any conflicts of interest you have -- "interests" being relationships in the real world that benefit you or the people about whom you are writing. Would you please disclose any relevant external interests?
- Having a conflict of interest is not a bad thing in itself. Undisclosed, unmanaged conflicts of interest are a bad thing, however. We have a way to manage COI here. The first step is disclosure.
- I look forward to your reply. Jytdog (talk) 19:06, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for the etiquette explanation, I'm hideously un-tech savvy and really appreciate the help. As for my interest in editing and creating pages, I'm an art history professor of contemporary art and urban practice and when I noticed the lack of pages for significant artists in building my classes thought I could contribute something of value that would also be a resource for my students. I have met several of the artists whose pages I created; however, the lion's share of the citations I rely upon in writing their pages has nothing to do with me or my access to them. Art and Seeking is a digital archive I'm building and I do not profit, nor do the artists, from those interviews--they are entirely for edification and scholarship. If it remains a conflict of interest to include those references, then I will gladly remove them from any page I have already created and will refrain from including them in any future page. Thank you again for your questions and your help.MissLizy1223 (talk) 19:30, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. You nailed the threading and signing thing, so congrats.
- Thanks for disclosing that art and seeking is your site.
- I think I get it, that you want to educate folks about contemporary art and artists. Which is great! At the same time, artists live by selling art, and it is pretty clear that artandseeking is a business (corporate tours, etc). None of that is bad -- everybody has to eat.
- But you are dancing on a very fine line here. Do you see what I mean? Jytdog (talk) 19:39, 18 June 2018 (UTC)

- Thank you for the formatting high five! I absolutely want to be transparent in my motivation and am grateful for the opportunity to explain it. I understand how having a Wikipedia page might help artists sell and would also support that if they're important enough to have the citations and exposure to justify a page. As for Art and Seeking, I haven't offered tours for profit in years or monetized my efforts so will adjust my site to reflect that. The way that I benefit from writing these pages is by adding scholarship to the lexicon of contemporary art and trying to give my students references they can read when there's so little written about street art and graffiti practice. If there's anything else I can do to make the line of this dance less fine, I'll do it. And thank you again. MissLizy1223 (talk) 19:50, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
- Ok... that makes sense; yes it would be best if you would remove business-y parts of your website if they are not relevant.
- I need to go do real world stuff but briefly...
- You are already putting pages through AfC which is great.
- If you a) know the artists you are writing about, or b) want to cite your own blog in a draft, that is fine, but please disclose such external relationships on the talk page of the draft, before you submit it, so the reviewer reads it with the disclosure in mind.
- Please keep in mind the mission of WP, which is to educate -- to provide "accepted knowledge" about topics in the world -- information of enduring, encyclopedic interest. If you find yourself in blog-post kind of territory, writing in detail about current events, you have probably slid off-mission. I am sure you have read enough art history books to be aware of the 'encyclopedia" genre.
- If you stay on mission and keep disclosing and getting stuff reviewed, everything will be fine.
- Thanks very much for helping build the encyclopedia! Jytdog (talk) 20:07, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
- I totally get it and will be sure to act with more diligence in the future in being as impartial as possible and not slipping into self-promotion. I'm definitely familiar with this kind of encyclopedic writing and will write with that style even more in mind. Thank you for this conversation and I'm heading back to my real-world job too! Deletion pending for File:Logo for the Activist Collective INDECLINE.pdf
[edit]Hello, MissLizy1223. Some time ago, a file you uploaded — File:Logo for the Activist Collective INDECLINE.pdf — was tagged with {{OTRS pending}}, indicating that you (or perhaps the copyright holder if you did not create this image) submitted a statement of permission to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 14:45, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

ArbCom 2018 election voter message
[edit]Hello, MissLizy1223. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
Hello, MissLizy1223. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or draft page you started, Draft:Parachute (company).
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. A tag has been placed on File:Conceptual and installation artist, Rachel Lachowicz.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
Whpq (talk) 14:05, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Heather Dorak (March 31)

[edit]This is your only warning; if you use Wikipedia for promotion or advertising again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. DGG ( talk ) 05:55, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
Your explanation in 2018 above for why you were not a paid editor, that you were preparing material of artists for use in the course you teach and related purposes, does not seem to be fully correct. I note that you have also written promotional articles(now mostly deleted) for
- "Parachute a.k.a. Parachute Home ... e-commerce company that sells bedding, Interior design|home decor and furniture."
- "Heather Dorak ... an American fitness entrepreneur and celebrity trainer. "
- "Laurel House, ... author, TV personality and international dating coach with a no-games approach to dating."
- "Eyeconic, Inc. ... an online optical goods retailer "
- " Serapian an |talian luxury brand of fashion and leather goods "
- "Laura Dunn... an American fashion editor, writer and actress."
- "Jena Rose an American singer and songwriter"
I think a further explanation is needed. DGG ( talk ) 07:04, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
