Spoonfuls of Stories, sponsored by Cheerios, is a program first began in 2002 as a joint venture of General Mills (owner of Cheerios) and Simon & Schuster (itself part of CBS Corporation). As part of a 50/50 joint venture, the program publishes mini-size versions of Simon & Schuster children's books. When Cheerios' Spoonfuls of Stories does its book drive on occasion, five Simon & Schuster children's books are featured in specially marked boxes of Cheerios.
