Nickelodeon Brazil is a cable and satellite television channel, counterpart of the American network Nickelodeon. It is oriented to brazilian . It is owned by Viacom Networks Brasil, the Brazilian branch of MTV Networks Latin America.
History
The channel was launched on December 20, 1996 in Latin America as a toon-oriented channel, being the main competitor of Cartoon Network, who was launched 2 years before.
The First Years(1995-2000)
The 90s were considered the best time of the channel when they showing animations and series classics of Nickelodeon American, including the blocks Nick GAS Snick and Nicktoons, most recorded at Nickelodeon Studios. The most famous Nicktoons, like Doug Rocko's Modern Life,Rugrats,Ren and Stimpy,Hey Arnold!,KaBlam! were shown at that time. It was also the era of hit shows such as Kenan & Kel,Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, The Adventures of Pete and Pete,Cousin Skeeter,Sister,Sister and Allen Strange.
Partnership with Multishow
In 1995, Nickelodeon when doesn´t have the Brazilia feed.Nickelodeon has entered into an agreement with Globosat. Thus, 3 of the best sitcoms were broadcast on the Nick channel Multishow (channel Globosat). Were shown: Clarissa, The Adventures Pete & Pete,Randhouse and Wild Crazy Kids. So in 1996, months after the premiere of Nicktoons on Nickelodeon, the Multishow began to exhibit some of Nicktoons, including Doug,Rugrats and Ren and Stimpy in a session named Babaeletronica. Multishow has stopped displaying the programs in 1996 when Nickelodeon starts your Latin American channel,later the Brazilian Feed, plus the agreement with Globosat still present: some programs are broadcast by Rede Globo children shows.
Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards
The American Awards Kids' Choice Awards Nickelodeon, known as the KCA, which star many stars of public international youth category television film and music, was dubbed for display in Brazil since 1999.
Meus Prêmios Nick
The brazilian version of American Kids' Choice Awards was launched in 1999. The My Awards Nick was created by Viacom Networks Brazil and MTV Networks. The viewer must vote in various categories and the artists receiving the most votes Zeppy, the trophy of the awards.

- Nick Jr.: The early morning schedule of Nickelodeon Brazil was originally dedicated to the pre-school public, since his debut in 1999, has gained the public between the ages from 2 to 7 years. Recently, Viacom Networks Brazil and the MTV Networks created the Nick Jr. Channel, which is only available in the operator Via Embratel.
- Nick @ Nite: In 2006, like a block, arrived in Brazil.On 05 April 2010 at the Nick @ Nite Brazilian underwent overhauls, in addition to displaying American classics shows from the 60s to 90, was included Nick Toons Classics. It was the Fusion Block with Nick Hits so far shown on Saturdays and Sundays starting from 10 PM.
- Teenick: Brazilian TEENick is a programming block that displays the Nickelodeon series American raised since 2004. Currently displayed is from 6 PM to 10PM and is repeated the next day, from 1 PM to 3 PM.

- Fantabuloso: Is a block of programming was created in 2005 and withdraw in 2006. The block was in the style of TEENick.
- Friday Night Nicktoons: In the period 2004 to 2006, during a reformulation of channel.Many programs were removed from the air and that several programs were retirados.Hopefully, the complaints of the older audience, was created a new block Friday Night Nicktoons, which ended in 2006, with the creation of Nick Hits.

- Snick: Was the main and first block of the Nickelodeon series from 1996 and 2000. In the programming, were shown the series: Clarissa Explains It All, Ren and Stimpy Show, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Kenan & Kel; and others.

Casa da Praia
Brazilian version of Summer Beach House is a marathon of Nickelodeon aired on weekday afternoons during the summer on Nickelodeon from late december to early april (summer in most parts of Brazil). It featured Nicktoon cartoon characters hanging out at a beach house during the block. The block was seen weekdays from three to seven PM
Fantabuloso
Fantabuloso was a block played on Sunday and Saturday nights, similar to TEENick. The block was aimed toward children ages 12–17. The block was replaced for Nick-at-Nite on Saturdays and Nick Hits on Sundays.
Nick at Nite
Nick at Nite was launched in 2006, replacing Fantabuloso, aired weeknights from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. The block was aired seven nights a week until July 2009, when Nick Hits, featuring classic Nicktoons and some live-action series, took over weekend nights.
