Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Pedal prix has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.thosracing.blogspot.com/. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 05:17, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Yellowcake (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. QU TalkQu 09:26, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Pagani Huayra has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:Crystal: no definite details available, car isn't produced at this time.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jarkeld (talk) 12:48, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Pagani Huayra for deletion

The article Pagani Huayra is being discussed concerning whether it is suitable for inclusion as an article according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pagani Huayra until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Jarkeld (talk) 12:53, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Copyrighted images

Clearly no one has explained to you how copyright policy works. You can not simply take images of cars that you have found on the internet, upload them to your Flickr under a Creative Commons license, and then claim that the image is eligable for Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons. This is falsely changing the licensing of images that do not belong to you.

The images that you have aded to Wikipedia have been removed, and the files on Commons have been nominated for deletion. If you continue to attempt to add images onto Wikipedia through this false copyright claim method, your Flickr account will no longer be an acceptable source for images. Your addition has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. The-Pope (talk) 15:54, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Casey-Bass Coast HPV Series has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

seems to be a draft for a future event.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi. When you recently edited Dirty Karma, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Madonna and Molotov (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A tag has been placed on Australian HPV Calendar 2013 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to an article may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Werieth (talk) 01:59, 8 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:Australian football hall of fame requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page's talk page, where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. The-Pope (talk) 01:03, 29 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Help with SANFL seasons

  • To do the WAFL results for each season, I took the following steps:
  1. Place all the results in a plain text TextEdit file
  2. Use the standard AFLGame format for each game
  3. Carefully replace, one-by-one, all the elements with their proper Wikipedia formatting
  4. Take care to make sure that they will be replaced in the correct order, which I do not recall but will come with practice
  5. Ultimately I am aiming to provide details which are much tougher to get than for the VFL in as consistent a format as possible (this is why I have not been doing new WANFL seasons of late)

With the SANFL, results would have to be obtained for another site (unlike the WAFL) and might require work on a Microsoft Word file so only the final scores are kept unless you want to put all results into a detail match format which is tougher.

I hope this helps! (luokehao) 23:25, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Adelaide sister city relations

Hi Thejoebloggsblog, sister city relations are made by local government - i.e. the ones you have listed are made by the Corporation of the City of Adelaide, and are shown on the appropriate page, that is, City of Adelaide. The page to which you have added this section is for "Greater Adelaide" which contains 18 different local government areas, each of which have their own, differing, sister city relations. This has been pointed out on the article's Talk page, as others have made this error before you. Bahudhara (talk) 12:33, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Photo montages

Hi Thejoebloggsblog, I see that you've been adding photo montages to infoboxes for some locality articles. I see a couple of problems in the way you have been going about this. For example, where you have used other contributors' photos, under the Creative Commons 3.0 licence you should be attributing the original creator of each image you use - and you've used one of my photos for the Port Adelaide montage. Another problem is that some of the photos you've used, when reduced to small thumbnails, become so "busy" that it's very hard to distinguish any detail, such as in the Rundle Mall photo in the Adelaide montage. And please note that the Barossa Valley is NOT part of Adelaide, not even of "Greater Adelaide" - in fact it has recently been specifically excluded from being within Adelaide's urban growth boundary, see Legislation to protect agricultural regions of McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley from urban sprawl now in place, The Advertiser, 18 January 2013. Hi, in case you're not already aware of it, a group of Adelaide Wikipedians has been meeting on a monthly basis since April, with the aim of improving the scope and quality of articles on South Australian topics. We usually meet at UniSA's City West campus, and our 19 November meeting will have as guest speaker the president of the History Council of SA. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of 2000 SANFL season, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: 2008 SANFL season. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 14:47, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

SANFL Pages

I'm hoping you're planning to actually fill all these pages in, I really don't want to go round and delete them all as empty pages but I will if you don't create them properly--Jac16888 Talk 17:07, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Semaphore montage.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File permission problem with File:West Torrens FC design.png

Thanks for uploading File:West Torrens FC design.png, which you've attributed to (logo). I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones  (Talk) 18:00, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Dave Boyd Port Adelaide Alberton Oval 1950s.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Dave Boyd Port Adelaide Alberton Oval 1950s.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones  (Talk) 18:14, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Thank you for your recent contributions, such as 1946 SANFL season. Getting started creating new articles on Wikipedia can be tricky, and you might like to try creating a draft version first, which you can then ask for feedback on if necessary, with less risk of deletion. Do make sure you also read help available to you, including Your First Article and the Tutorial. You might also like to try the Article Wizard, which has an option to create a draft version. Proposed deletion of 1878 SAFA season

The article 1878 SAFA season has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unsourced, Article with no text in mainspace

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Please stop creating empty articles

I understand that creating articles isn't easy, and that once a shell of an article is created, then it can be filled out over time, but as you have been told/suggested numerous times previously, please do not create "empty" articles, with just an infobox and cats. Put in a sentance or two. Put in a reference - you obviously are getting all the stats and medal winners from a source - put it in the article - book, website, annual report, newspaper, whatever. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on List of SANFL wooden spoons requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Ways to improve 1879 SAFA season

Hi, I'm SparrowHK. Thejoebloggsblog, thanks for creating 1879 SAFA season!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please considering adding more content to your new article. However, you did do a great job on the infobox!

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. SparrowHK (talk) 02:59, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for adding a ref, but on the Trove website, they actually have a button on the top left hand side called "cite" that can automagically make wikipedia formatted references! They sometimes need editting a little bit, but much easier to read than a cut/paste url. Cheers The-Pope (talk) 03:19, 18 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

St. Kilda Football Club icon

Hello, thank you for creating new icons for the AFL teams; however, St. Kilda's colours are wrong. The stripes go Red, White, Black not Black, White, Red. Would you be able to fix that? Thank you. 120.144.193.107 (talk) 12:02, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Thejoebloggsblog. I just saw this article pop up in the candidates for speedy deletion. I then checked some other years (via the template at the bottom of the page), and noticed there was a fair few articles which had the infobox only. I declined the speedy deletion nomination, but realistically, unless these articles get some meaningful prose in them, they probably will be deleted over the coming weeks.

All it would probably take is something along the lines of (formatted and linked appropriately): "The XXXX SANFL season was the Xth season of the SANFL, South Australia's premier Australian rules football competition. X teams competed, with X finishing the season as premiers. X was awarded the Ken Farmer Medal as the highest goalkicker."

The article George Fiacchi has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 2015 SAAFL division one season requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Proposed deletion of Dockland Rivalry (AFL)

The article Dockland Rivalry (AFL) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Even as a Fremantle fan, this is not a notable rivalry. No significant coverage of the rivalry, as opposed to normal match reporting

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Recentism

All told, the Port Adelaide page is far from the worst AFL club page when it comes to recentism. But there is stuff in there like "the club got some important game time into the likes of Hamish Hartlett, Matthew Broadbent, Travis Boak, Alipate Carlile and Robbie Gray" and individual descriptions of home-and-away matches and early finals matches which belongs in individual season pages, not the top level club page. Ladder Progression tables

Hi, please stop making changes to the AFL ladder progression template, the changes you've made to the 2015 one is way too confusing and counter-productive. I don't doubt you're doing it for the right reasons and you're acting in good faith, but they are completely unnecessary. Also, colouring in the team does not add any new information to what is already in the table, therefore, it is not needed, it just adds extra space to an already very large article (> 120kb). Thanks, Flickerd (talk) 13:01, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:1928 Port Adelaide premiership players requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

2015 AFL season page

I don't understand why you continually feel the need to update the ladder progression table on the 2015 AFL season page before the end of the round. The purpose of the ladder is the progression of each team at the end of the round, therefore, it should not be edited before the end of the round. I have said this about four different times this year and it also provides little context having some teams blank and others with points (which I have also said numerous times). Once again, I don't understand the need for it, when you undid my edit here, you do realise that Carlton finished the round in 16th, so by having them listed at 17th for the ladder progression, it's actually incorrect. I don't know what the rush is, it should be done at the end of the round. Also, by having an edit summary, then I (and probably other people too) can understand the purpose of your edits, and they may stop being reverted. Flickerd (talk) 07:40, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Trust me on this.....

I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Actually It's from Adelaide Oval, my mistake, but still!!! Thejoebloggsblog (talk) 08:08, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that the trophy ( the central focus of your image) is a work of artistic design with a separate copyright held by it's creator, The rationale is needed for the 'subject' of the image, not the image itself. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 08:58, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Hart's Flour Mill (Hart's Mill).jpeg

Thanks for uploading File:Hart's Flour Mill (Hart's Mill).jpeg.

You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Steel1943 (talk) 22:54, 19 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Another problem with this photo is that it is mislabelled - although many people do call it "Hart's Mill", this name actually refers to the 1855 cream stone building on the eastern side of the complex, facing Mundy St - the 1888 red brick building in the photo is properly referred to at the Adelaide Milling Company building. Image source and copyright licensing problem with File:Vancouver Cougars Icon.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Vancouver Cougars Icon.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work contained within this image, you will need to specify

  1. the creator of the original work
  2. the copyright status of the original work, usually indicated by adding a licensing tag. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:26, 24 October 2015 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Proposed deletion of Big Three (Australian football)

The article Big Three (Australian football) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not a commonly used term. No references provided to prove that the idiom is notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on SS Ridge Park requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Port Adelaide players

I fully understand that the 1996 SANFL and 1997 AFL Port Adelaide club is the same club, but you can't merge the players category, as it is a subcat of Category:VFL/AFL players. The old system of Category:Port Adelaide Football Club players for only AFL players, and the Category:Port Adelaide Football Club (SANFL) players and Category:Port Adelaide Magpies players cats for SANFL players worked perfectly in terms of subcategorisation. And it's in alignment with how we deal with Richmond/Footscray VFA players. The cat system isn't perfect - ie all of the South Melbourne players are in the Sydney Swans cat, but you need to consider the bigger picture, and not just redefine things without any consultation or discussion. List of Port Adelaide Football Club players

I shouldn't even need to explain this but I will.

There are a lot of issues with having the List of Port Adelaide Football Club players with the way you keep reverting it to without even looking at the changes.

You have been notified before about trying to merge SANFL players with AFL players in the categories, and this isn't any different, there is still representation for the SANFL players in their own article (which I don't even think is notable enough, but have kept the stats rather than deleting them all). Rather than just deleting the useful updates (the main one is deleting the chronological order of debuts and updated stats), please take into consideration that I am trying to improve the article and have it appropriately represented, and understand that you can't just have it the way you want it. Flickerd (talk) 06:41, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@ Flickerd I shouldn't even need to explain this but I will.

There are a lot of issues with having the List of Port Adelaide Football Club players with the way you keep reverting it to without even looking at the changes.

  • The article is way too large and there is a perfectly reasonable split by having SANFL listed players at List of Port Adelaide Football Club players (before 1997) and the AFL listed players at List of Port Adelaide Football Club players per WP:TOOBIG.
    • Melbourne Football Clubs article size is larger.
  • Notice how the navbox at the bottom of List of Port Adelaide Football Club players says VFL/AFL players, therefore, that page should only have VFL/AFL listed players.
    • Port Adelaide is an exception as it existed prior to the AFL whilst not playing in the VFL.
  • The articles should be also representative of the categories they are in, i.e. List of Port Adelaide Football Club players is in the Category:Port Adelaide Football Club players, which is a subcategory of Category:VFL/AFL players, therefore, SANFL players should not be there, and vice versa with the split article.
    • Port Adelaide is an exception as it existed prior to the AFL whilst not playing in the VFL.
  • The statistics are completely out of whack and aren't updated.
    .
    • Help me out then brah.
  • Not all debutantes are listed and the cap order is wrong, i.e. Jimmy Toumpas is not the 152nd player to appear, he is the 158th, which means you've deleted three debutants since, and all the updated stats.
    • Help me out then brag.
  • Reserves players shouldn't be included, i.e. SANFL players from 1997–present.
    • Fair enough.
  • Having all the players in the same table is completely pointless as they are already noted for, it just adds unnecessary space, and if the list was nominated at WP:FL, that would be one of the first things to go.
    • Removed.

You have been notified before about trying to merge SANFL players with AFL players in the categories, and this isn't any different, there is still representation for the SANFL players in their own article (which I don't even think is notable enough, but have kept the stats rather than deleting them all).

    • Sod off. VFL was just another state league. SANFL and WAFL prior to the AFL should be treated equally as the VFL.

Rather than just deleting the useful updates (the main one is deleting the chronological order of debuts and updated stats), please take into consideration that I am trying to improve the article and have it appropriately represented, and understand that you can't just have it the way you want it.

    • I want Port Adelaide players listed. Is that too much to ask? How come you can do VFL/AFL but not SANFL/AFL?

Disambiguation link notification for September 23

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Harold Oliver (Australian footballer), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Observer (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). A tag has been placed on File:Gavin Wanganeen 1990.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". November 2016

Information icon Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Gawler Football Club. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! Just a few things and then...

Some of the Harold Oliver (Australian footballer) references need to be adjusted/fixed/corrected. Please look at: #6, #8, #11 - they are all user-edited sources and aren't considered reliable for Wikipedia's purposes. As soon as these are taken care of I can finish up the Review. Replaceable fair use File:Jiangwan Sports Centre 2016.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Jiangwan Sports Centre 2016.jpg.

Thank you. Ytoyoda (talk) 16:53, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:1975 Championship of Australia.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:1975 Championship of Australia.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. The article List of Australian rules football rivalries has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unreferenced, poorly defined, subject to recentism. Every contest is a rivalry.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Craig Ebert requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:1972 Championship of Australia.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:1972 Championship of Australia.jpg.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Rrburke (talk) 12:42, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Port Adelaide Football Club. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
I have opened up a discussion on the talk page, please discuss there rather than reverting. Flickerd (talk) 15:41, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:South Australian National Football League logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:17, 31 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:The Advertiser, Port Adelaide granted AFL Licence, 1994.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:The Advertiser, Port Adelaide granted AFL Licence, 1994.jpg.

Thank you. – Train2104 (t • c) 14:55, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Geof Motley 1954 SANFL Grand Final.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Geof Motley 1954 SANFL Grand Final.jpg.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
