Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

    Current requests for protection

Place requests for new or upgrading pending changes, semi-protection, full protection, move protection, create protection, template editor protection, or upload protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Temporary semi-protection: BLP policy violations – An IP insists on inserting unsourced negative information and WP:OR related to quotes misattributed to the events being detailed in the article. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 20:19, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. 069952497aComments and complaintsStuff I've done 20:02, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Full protection. Persistent vandalism. (tJosve05a (c) 19:29, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Harryboyles 19:55, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – This page has had persistent vandalism over the course of several months. The vandalism happens sporadically, but there is at least one vandalism edit a week. Epicgenius(talk to mesee my contributions) 19:14, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Several vandal edits from different IP's over the course of the past few days. Hearfourmewesique (talk) 17:54, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Constant/persistent genre warring, also it appears an ip has made an account solely for the purpose of continuing the genre war. I call the big one bitey (talk) 17:42, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – A registered user and and IP both making similar edits to this article. Suspect that they are editing under both by logging in and out. Adding bogus destinations to Garuda Indonesia. Snoozlepet (talk) 16:32, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite full protection: Highly visible template – Subpage of a new variant of the welcome template that includes a paragraph asking users with non-latin character usernames to check out WP:Username_policy#Usernames_with_non-Latin_characters. At the bottom of the template I have included translations of the contents of the template in every non-Latin character language the google translate service currently provides. Request indefinite full protection as it is a highly visible template subpage that users will click onto. Feedthepope (talk) 16:31, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite full protection: Highly visible template – A new variant of the welcome template that includes a paragraph asking users with non-latin character usernames to check out WP:Username_policy#Usernames_with_non-Latin_characters. Request indefinite full protection as it is a highly visible template. . Feedthepope (talk) 16:30, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – This is a high-visibility mid-season association football signing. Editors are changing the player's status before the official transfer window opens on 1 July. At least semi-protect until that date with the article in the state it is presently or in the state of any other Football Project member's edits. Walter Görlitz (talk) 15:43, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – Various IPs adding material and removing tags. Seems to be for and against editors. Have tried to intervene but to no real success. Apologies. . Murry1975 (talk) 10:48, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Full semi-protection: Too many IPs addressing posting vandalisim. I want this page to be limited to only registered users can edit to avoid warning IP users. ACMEWikiNet ACMEWikiNet (talk) 10:44, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite pending changes: or unprotection. page protected in 2010 to prevent spamming, I think that pending changes would do the job here. Crazynas t 08:42, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    User(s) blocked. Drmies (talk) 17:33, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Current requests for unprotection

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
