Kolkata Knight Riders[edit]

Hi, I have reverted your edit as you had inserted a high resolution copy of a copyrighted image with misleading copyright status which was originally uploaded by AkashSiinha. Please do not add images to articles which have such a dubious copyright status. Thanks. Shovon (talk) 07:16, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi Anshuman, please refrain from re-adding the image of the Kolkata Knight Riders logo which was uploaded by a user without proper licensing tag. In any case, the version of the file which is presently there, has a better visual quality and of a lower resolution. If you require any help, pls feel free to contact me at my talk page. Thanks. Problems with upload of File:Assamese meal.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Assamese meal.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

License tagging for File:Badulipar tea garden.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Badulipar tea garden.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 07:06, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Stop editing Assamese Wikipedia[edit]

Hi Ashuman, Please stop editing the Assamese Wikipedia for now. Your edits have created a lot of unicode encoding issues, and has rendered the Assamese Wikipedia unusable for all of us who use the correct encoding. If you have comments, please leave them at my talk-page. Chaipau (talk) 11:58, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Nipon Goswami[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Nipon Goswami requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. GILO   ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY 05:54, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

Kongali Bihu[edit]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Kongali Bihu, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://onlinesivasagar.com/lifestyle/kati-bihu.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) MadmanBot (talk) 04:55, 8 August 2013 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Sudesh Berry[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Sudesh Berry has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unsourced biography of what appears to be a run of the mill supporting actor.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 20:38, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Speedy deletion nomination of List of awards and winners for films from Assam[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on List of awards and winners for films from Assam, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. (See section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) If a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
  • It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. (See section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.  I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 10:15, 11 September 2016 (UTC)

Non-free image use[edit]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to a page, specifically India national cricket team, may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:38, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

File:Cricket India Crest.svg is a non-free image which means that each use of it on Wikipedia must satisfy Wikipedia's non-free content use policy. The non-free use of this file was discussed at Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2016 February 18#File:Cricket India Crest.svg and the consensus was the file's non-free use only complies with the aforementioned policy in Board of Control for Cricket in India. If you would like clarification of this, please ask the closing administrator Explicit about it on his user talk page. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:43, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

Hey[edit]

Hey mate, I saw you created a page for the Assam State Electricity Board and that is fine but in the future keep in mind WP:NFOOTY. Only clubs that have competed in the I-League, Federation Cup, Durand Cup, or I-League 2nd Division are notable as those are official national leagues and tournaments of India. Things like the IFA Cup or Bordoloi Trophy do not give a team notability. Thankfully Assam Electricity Board did play in the 2nd division a decade ago so your page is notable. Cheers. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 16:02, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Gaane Ki Aane[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Gaane Ki Aane has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No significat coverage in independent reliable sources to support WP:GNG and no indication of passing WP:NFILM.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Moving Whitefield, Bangalore to Whitefield, Bengaluru[edit]

Hello. I have reverted your undiscussed move per WP:COMMONNAME, since we, per the outcome of ten move requests (which are all linked to from Talk:Bangalore) continue to use Bangalore, and not Bengaluru. - Tom | Thomas.W talk 19:04, 2 September 2017 (UTC)

November 2017[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Bhupen Hazarika Setu, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. A reference should be provided backing a name change as well. GS 01:04, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for February 18[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Romario Sharma, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kamrup (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
