Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions nor to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as CSD G6), or in articles for deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other XfD processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions on the template or on your talk page.

Note that requests for undeletion is not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

the editor who deleteed the said entry was not competent in music/musicology (he claims to be a php programmer) and therefore is not in a position to assess the importance of a scholarly relevant source of information for foreign academic researchers -Denischetwynd (talk) 02:40, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. One does not have to be "competent in musicology" to see that an article which says only that the company is a publishing house based in Istanbul which specializes in music and musicology does not make a credible claim of importance or significance enough to justify an encyclopedia article. Wikipedia is not a business listing directory. You are welcome to resubmit the article if you can establish notability by citing references to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. Have a look at WP:CORP and WP:BFAQ, and check with Slakr (talk), the deleting admin, before you repost it. JohnCD (talk) 14:12, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. Notability is a technical term in Wikipedia, and needs to be demonstrated by references that show significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources; unless these are added to the article, it may be nominated at WP:Articles for deletion. See the WP:FAQ/Organizations and WP:Notability (organizations and companies for more advice. JohnCD (talk) 09:48, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

For the temporary purposes only of allowing me to re-review the article texts behind paywalls, and then to to take advantage of Wikipedia' process for "web archiving" for articles behind paywalls. Once they have been copied by me (they took me many days to create originally and were instantly deleted without discussion) the page can be re-deleted. Or even an email of the page to me would be fine. All I need is access to the material I originally wrote and that is now permanently gone. John Ratey MD

John Ratey · ( talk | logs | history | links | watch ) · [revisions] Please reinstate the biography page for John Joseph Ratey M.D.

Dr. Ratey has touched millions of lives through his writing, teaching and clinical work and should have his full profile reinstated in Wikipedia. Dr. Ratey is one of the most extraordinary human beings you will meet, he is known around the world, an invaluable resource and advocate promoting the health, well being and enabling individuals to reach their full potential. You have many books and articles that Dr. Ratey has written in Wikipedia, it makes no sense to delete the biography of such an important clinician and human being. Please reinstate the page immediately.

John J Ratey, MD, is an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, Research Synthesizer, Speaker, and Author, as well a Clinical Psychiatrist maintaining a private practice in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has lectured and published 60 peer reviewed articles on the topics of Aggression, Autism, ADHD, and other issues in neuropsychiatry.

Dr. Ratey has authored A User¹s Guide to the Brain(2000) and co-authored Shadow Syndromes(1997) with Catherine Johnson, PhD. From 1994 to 2005 he co-authored Driven to Distraction(1994), Answers to Distraction (1995) and Delivered from Distraction (2005) with Edward Hallowell, MD, all published by Pantheon/Random House. Additionally, he has edited several books including The Neuropsychiatry of Personality Disorders (1994), published by Blackwell Scientific.

Most recently, Dr Ratey has penned, Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain published by Little Brown. In Spark, Dr. Ratey guides the reader to an understanding of neurobiology and inspires the reader to reach for their potential, and embrace exercise that is crucial for the brain and body to operate at peak performance. Spark is fueling a movement to re-engineer school practices and medical recommendations to establish curriculum, lifestyles and corporate practices based on scientific principles. Providing the scientific foundation and research data, Dr Ratey has been drafted into the groundswell of those whose mission it is to revitalize schools, combat the obesity crisis, stave off the encroaching epidemic of Sedentarism, by returning to evolutionary principles of physical exercise and proper diet thereby combating syndrome X, the underlying causation of much chronic disease.

"Dr. Ratey's work is going to save physical education, by reforming it. Exercise and the youth of this generation will be the vanguard that will lead the nation back to health." Phil Lawler, Architect of the Naperville PE Project.

Each year since 1995, Dr. Ratey has been selected by his peers as one of the Best Doctors in America. In his dedication to the changing the world, Dr. Ratey has founded The Ratey Institute whose mission is to broadcast life changing science and establish the best practice policies first in our school and then other organizations to reclaim human health

Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain, released in 2008, is the culmination of years of experience with the brain body connection, new research data, and the synthesis of biological sciences. Spark is revolutionizing how we see the human species. A call to return to our evolutionary roots; to get in sync with our metabolic design honed through eons of survival to optimize mental and physical health. Dr. Ratey is the spark that will set your old paradigms on fire, which will clear your mind to see a new vision for mankind, and inflame a passion of commitment to create a healthy future for our posterity.

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. I will notify user Philafrenzy (talk), who proposed it, in case he wishes to nominate it at WP:Articles for deletion. Notability, in Wikipedia terms, requires to be demonstrated by references to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. You are welcome to expand the article to state Dr. Ratey's achievements, but please take care to avoid promotional language and "peacock terms" - Wikipedia requires a neutral point of view, plain facts backed up by references. Derry was in charge of the Oracle's product development for many years, and is responsible for innovations that are the heart of much of today's online industries. Thanks in no small part to Derry's contributions, Oracle has thrived in the business world to the point of now owning Java, another core technology of the Internet. I think Derry's insights and dedication to the high-tech industry merits at least these two small paragraphs in Wikipedia -- which are likely stored (or will someday be stored) in an Oracle database. -Ahall613 (talk) 12:49, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

reasoning -Medeia (talk) 14:41, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Admin,

I am currently doing my internship and I am trying to place an article on Argo Group Int., which is an insurance company. The reason is not advertising, but to have the company itself listed on this online Encyclopedia which contains information about almost everything. I have also seen many others companies and their profile, such as one of the biggest companies Axa profile as well. I limited the description in order to avoid advertisement, and if it will be deleted again, could anyone tell me why? Or what should I write, how should I write it? My source was linked as well.. Im looking forward to hearing from you, Thank you a lot for your help,

Not done and will not be done If anything, this one was even worse than the last one, and like the last one has been deleted, since it was not an article but a shameless and unabashed advertisement. We weren't done editing the biography and sources. I work for CedEnough so it is all reliable, we just wanted it on here until we can piece together which sources to use for which part. Can you please put it back on?

Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles concerning companies. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning companies will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. You should also read WP:COI; company employees are the very definition of not reliable. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:21, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

National Atheist Party

Article was originally deleted due ti its lack of external sources so more external links were added to show credibility. The party is very recent and has achieved 527 status necessary for the registration process. How can an entity achieve recognition if you erase the entry ? The party held its first national convention and has more than 5,000 members. What criteria do you need in order to keep the page up ? I also find Bella the Ball's use of religious imagery "strike this one with a bolt of lightning" disturbingly reminiscent of religious bias when dealing with n atheist page. Her use of irony "come back when you elect a candidate" also very disturbing as if notability was only a result of winning an election. Thank you for your consideration. — Preceding request placed by Flegrain (talk · contribs) 16:49, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This article was deleted by AFD consensus and therefore may not be restored by this process. Reason for deletion: person was claimed to be nonexistent.

I would like to point out that this author does exist, has had a lot of his books published, and even has been the subject of a doctoral thesis (see Vom Fundamentalisten zum Atheisten, by Jürgen Wasella). Another way to verify his existence and notability is to search for عبد ألله القصيمي on the international bookshop http://www.neelwafurat.com : one will find that they sell quite a lot of his books.

Reasoning for deletion was stated that Andy Kubiszewksi had not proven to have done enough credible work outside of the band Stabbing Westward. Andy had scored music for 5 films and over 25 TV series on numerous networks. He has also written the theme songs on 7 of those TV shows and has licensed songs in at least 60 projects including TV commercials, TV shows, films and video games. He is currently the composer on the show entitled Storage Wars on Discovery, as well as Ice Road Truckers, Ax Men and Swords. Storage Wars is the highest rated show currently airing on cable TV and he will also be scoring the spin off show Storage Wars Dallas. A Broom With A View

I am requesting assistance in being able to communicate with the editor(s) who removed three of my pages (listed below). I am a fairly new author and am still learning proper Wiki protocol.

I would like to be able to restore the three pages that were deleted, supposedly for copyright infringement (not sure what the unambiguous means).

I was not contacted about the removal, and just happened upon it tonight when I tried to enter on and update them. I was not given a chance to make any adjustments, defend, or understand the reasoning for the removal. I thought that I had followed formats from other artist album pages.

The graphics for the albums were cleared through wikimedia ahead of time, and the material used was referenced and verifiable. I will be happy to modify the text or, if there is any need for to obtain copyright permission from the artist, Kristen Lawrence, to satisfy any copyright questions. Please let me know what I need to do.

NewsWire NZ

Take a look at the website yourselves, guys. NewsWire NZ is a legitimate news outlet produced by the largest journalism school in New Zealand, the Whitiriea NZ Media Training Centre in Wellington, NZ. If you Google NewsWire NZ you'll see it consistently ranks at the top of the page. Take a look: www.NewsWire.co.nz We are averaging just under 400,000 page visits a year. Our students have posted nearly 2000 news packages on the site since it launched in 2008. Mainstream media in New Zealand regularly take content from the site to use it. Given what has happened with my first attempt to create a presence on Wikipedia, I'm guessing our web-savvy students will be taking a keen interest in how this pans out. A New Type of VTOL Aircraft

Please help me to understand why this short article was deleted.

Although it is a new idea, it has some background:

1) I made a presentation of this new aircraft concept to the January 2010 meeting of the American Helicopter society in San Francisco. Unfortunately, proceedings are not published.

2) A patent was been applied for on this new aircraft concept two years ago, but now days patent applications take a long time to produce results; I have not yet gotten the first response back from the patent office.

3) A toy used to exist which consisted of a stick with a propeller at each end and a rubber band between the propellers to turn the propellers in opposite directions. When the rubber band was wound up and the toy was released it flew at high speed. In a sense I could say that there have been many thousands of prototypes made.

So this is not an unknown or irrational concept.

This was my second submission of the same article. I tried to make the article more like reporting than soap-boxing. Did I fail in this effort? If so, how could I have said things to make them sound more objective?

Yes, the article I submitted was quite short. I could work to make it much longer if that is the main problem. Would that help?

I saw something about too many caps in the title. I thought that "VTOL" was well understood by most people as meaning "Vertical Take Off and Landing". Was I mistaken? Would any of the phrases below be better titles? If not, please make some suggestions.

a) The Lawrence Tiltplane

b) The Tiltplane

c) A New Vertical Take Off and Landing Aircraft

Sincerely, John Lawrence — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jlawren3 (talkcontribs) 14:24, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. The business of an encyclopedia is to summarise material already published in reliable sources. It is not a noticeboard for publication of anything new. One of Wikipedia's fundamental policies is Wikipedia:No original research, which includes: "If no reliable third-party sources can be found on a topic, Wikipedia should not have an article about it. If you discover something new, Wikipedia is not the place to premiere such a discovery." Also, in writing about your own discovery you have, from our point of view, a WP:Conflict of interest: Wikipedia is not to be used for advertising or promotion of any kind. • David Wrone's The Zapruder Film (2003) concludes that the shot that killed JFK came from in front of the limousine, and that JFK's throat and back wounds were caused by an in-and-through shot originating from the grassy knoll. Three shots were fired from three different angles, none of them from Lee Harvey Oswald's window at the Texas School Book Depository. Wrone is a professor of history (emeritus) at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point. ISBN 0-7006-1291-2.

So I think an article on David Wrone - which I entered to Wikipedia - would be relevant and interesting for readers, especially for people interested in one (of only two!) historians who broke The Silence of the Historians (David W. Mantik, 2000) about the JFK assassinations.

The dates about him I had gotten from himself by e-mail after I asked him for that. This, I think, should not be a reason to delete the article. Please restore the article. ~~ -Thalimed (talk) 20:16, 24 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done, but please read the Wikipedia:Verifiability policy:

"any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source... The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—whether readers can check that material in Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether editors think it is true."

Articles about living persons are automatically deleted after ten days unless referenced. I have restored this, and reset the timer, so that you have ten days to provide references. I'm afraid information "gotten from himself by e-mail" is not good enough: it must already have been published in a reliable source. JohnCD (talk) 22:07, 24 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you JohnDC for restoring the article. I entered the reference "Spartacus Schoolnet: David Wrone", where the essential parts of the information can be found. I found it there myself and then contacted David Wrone for some more information. Will that be OK? Thalimed (talk) 11:01, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. (Meanwhile I sent my e-mail correspondence with David Wrone to Spartacus Schoolnet, so their article about David Wrone will soon be more complete, I think.) Thalimed (talk) 11:01, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Emma Rayne Lyle

(extended draft article removed - it duplicated this version submitted to AfC. JohnCD (talk) 09:53, 25 September 2011 (UTC))[reply]
I have created a new article for Emma Rayne Lyle but it did not take: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Emma_Rayne_Lyle#Emma_Rayne_Lyle -- 75.192.87.28 (talk) 21:35, 24 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I followed the instructions from the administrator who told me to rewrite the article. You may find the link to the discussions for the article creation here: Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Emma_Rayne_Lyle#References and the original article Emma Rayne Lyle and its discussion Talk:Emma_Rayne_Lyle
Emma Rayne Lyle is listed as an actress in two films on Wikipedia and her name is the only one that redirects to a deleted page. It doesn't look professional on her part. I Don't know How She Does It and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Return_%282011_film%29

Merged duplicate sections below into this. lifebaka++ 05:19, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not 100% sure that Lyle meets WP:ENTERTAINER, but certainly the above (which is the proposed article) in no way meets A7. I'll move the AfC to article space and clean it up a bit. Cheers. lifebaka++ 05:25, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rituparna Bhattacharjee

Kindly visit the pages from where the facts have been collected. Kindly do not delete the name of Rituparna Bhattacharjee because she has been recognised as 'the youngest female writer' of Bengali literature. In the following pages you may verify the truth.

There are nearly all newspapers in both English and Bengali which reviewed her book 'BHUTIYA'. kindly include the book and recognise the youngest female author in your Wikipaedia page. Regards Ratan Bhattacharjee

The Bawdies

not my article, went looking for it tonight and found the redlink, notable enough in Japan I think I can fix the issues -Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 17:22, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. The PROD reason was "no indication of meeting WP:BAND. Only source does not back up claim of comparison to Beatles." JohnCD (talk) 17:32, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed I was listed among syndicated columnists and was trying to add information to my ;listing--not sure why I was deleted--I am a rather well known academic -Zagano (talk) 17:41, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
