• ADK created Gang Wars and Ninja Combat.
• Appaloosa Interactive created Cyborg Justice for the Sega Mega Drive and Three Dirty Dwarves for the Sega Saturn and Windows PCs.
• Amaze Entertainment developed Spider-Man: Web of Shadows for Nintendo DS.
• Arc System Works created Guilty Gear Judgement.
• Arsys Software, a company composed of former Technosoft employees, developed Battle Zeque Den (co-developed by Image Works and published by Asmik Ace Entertainment).
• Atari Games created Guardians of the 'Hood, a beat 'em up with digitized graphics.
• Avit, a company composed of former Technos Japan employees, developed Ridegear Guybrave for the Sony PlayStation (published by Axela).

• Capcom created the influential Final Fight arcade game, as well as Captain Commando, Knights of the Round, King of Dragons, Battle Circuit, Armored Warriors, the Viewtiful Joe series and a handful of licensed beat 'em ups.

• Data East created Night Slashers, Dark Seal, Dark Seal 2, Captain America and The Avengers, Crude Buster and most notably, Bad Dudes VS. DragonNinja.
• Division2 developed Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds for the Xbox 360, which is a spin-off of Phantom Breaker.

• East Technology developed Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone (published by Technos Japan) and Silent Dragon (published by Taito Corporation).

• Fill-in-Cafe created Galaxy Keiji Gayvan (published by Intec), Mad Stalker: Full Metal Force (published by Family Soft), and Panzer Bandit (published by Banpresto).

• Gazelle, a company composed of former Toaplan employees who worked on Knuckle Bash, only developed Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon (published by Banpresto) exclusively for the arcades.
• Givro, a company composed of former Technos Japan employees, developed Mazin Saga: Mutant Fighter and Shin Nekketsu Kōha: Kunio-tachi no Banka.

I

• International Games System created Gladiator: Road of Sword, The Knights of Valour series and a couple of Oriental Legends arcades exclusively for arcades.
• Irem created one of the first beat 'em ups known as Kung-Fu Master (Spartan X in Japan). They also created Blade Master, Undercover Cops, Hook and Ninja Baseball Bat Man.

• Jaleco created Hachoo! and 64th Street: A Detective Story for the arcades. They also created the Rushing Beat trilogy exclusively for the Super NES.

K

• Kaneko created DJ Boy and B. Rap Boys.
• Konami created several licensed beat 'em ups based on different variations of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Simpsons, Bucky O' Hare, X-Men, Batman Returns, and Asterix. They also created some original beat 'em ups like The Adventures of Bayou Billy, Metamorphic Force, Gaiopolis, Crime Fighters, Vendetta and Violent Storm.

• Leland Corporation created Brute Force exclusively for the arcades.

• Namco created the Splatterhouse series, Wonder Momo and Bravoman.
• Naps Team created Gekido and its spin-off Gekido Advance: Kintaro’s Revenge.
• Natsume co-developed The Ninja Warriors Again (published by Taito Corporation for the Super NES. They also developed beat 'em ups based on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
• Nichibutsu only created Cosmo Police Galivan II: Arrow of Justice.
• Noise Factory only created Gaia Crusaders.

• Press Start Studio created Twin Blades: The Reaping Vanguard for various platforms.

• Radical Entertainment developed the poorly-reviewed Bébé's Kids (published by Paramount Interactive and Motown Games) for the Super NES.
• Rare developed the Battletoads series (published by various publishers).
• Ronin Entertainment developed Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon (published by Universal Interactive).

• Sega created the highly rated Streets of Rage trilogy, as well as D. D. Crew, Spider-Man: The Video Game, Michael Jackson's Moonwalker arcade, the Golden Axe series, Altered Beast, Alien Storm, Die Hard Arcade, Arabian Fight, Comix Zone and a handful of others.
• Seibu Kaihatsu only created Zero Team for the arcades.
• SETA Corporation only created Downtown for the arcades.
• Ska Studios created The Dishwasher Vampire Smile exclusively for the Xbox 360.
• SNK created P.O.W.: Prisoners of War, Burning Fight, the Sengoku series, and Mutation Nation.
• Software Creations created Maximum Carnage (published by LJN) and its sequel Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety (published by Acclaim Entertainment).
• Sunsoft created Tough Turf (published by Sega), The Death and Return of Superman (co-developed by Blizzard Entertainment) and Shounen Ninja Sasuke.

T

• TAD Corporation only created Legionnaire for the arcades.
• Taito Corporation localized the Kunio-kun arcade game into Renegade and created sequels for it. Taito also created beat 'em up games starring Sonic Blast Man, and also created The Ninja Warriors, the Rastan Saga series, Light Bringer (known outside of Japan as Dungeon Magic), Growl (known in Japan as Runark), The Ninja Kids, Pu-Li-Ru-La and Arabian Magic.
• Tatsumi only created Big Fight: Big Trouble in the Atlantic Ocean, which is a beat 'em up / fighting hybrid arcade game.
• Technos Japan, a company composed of former Data East employees, created the influential Kunio-kun franchise of beat 'em ups as well as the Double Dragon franchise, China Gate, The Combatribes and Shadow Force.
• Technosoft only created Nekketsu Oyako for the Sony PlayStation and later, the Sega Saturn.
• Toaplan only created Knuckle Bash for the arcades.
• Torus Games created Jackie Chan Adventures: Legend of the Dark Hand for Game Boy Advance.
• Treasure created Guardian Heroes for the Sega Saturn and its sequel, Advance Guardian Heroes and Astro Boy: Omega Factor both for the Game Boy Advance.

U

• Ubisoft developed Game Boy Advance beat 'em up games based on Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and TMNT. They also developed Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game.

• Vanillaware created Muramasa: The Demon Blade exclusively for WiiWare.
• Vicarious Visions developed Bruce Lee: Return of the Legend for Game Boy Advance.

W

• WayForward Technologies created Justice League Heroes: The Flash for Game Boy Advance, Thor: God of Thunder for Nintendo DS, and Batman: The Brave and the Bold for the WiiWare.
• Webfoot Technologies created Dragonball GT: Transformation for Game Boy Advance.
• Westone Bit Entertainment created Riot City (published by Sega) and Riot Zone (published by Hudson Soft).
• Winky Soft created Denjinmakai and Guardians (both published by Banpresto).
