Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

Current requests for increase in protection level

Temporary extended confirmed: Persistent disruptive editing – Potential edit war (currently no violation of 3RR). INeedSupport (talk) 14:14, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    Semi-protected -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 14:25, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Note: Looked like negative unsourced BLP. Did not see such an edit from an autoconfirmed. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 14:27, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Extended confirmed: Persistent disruptive editing – Persistent unsourced edits made by new users such as User:Engku1973, despite the article being previously protected due to similar reasons. Vnonymous (talk) 22:25, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - @Vnonymous: This is a content dispute, perhaps you could try discussing this on the user's talk page instead of plastering their talk page with warnings, labeling well-meaning edits as 'vandalism', and misusing the rollback tool to undo them. Fish+Karate 12:20, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – I've seen multiple edit wars quietly going on here for quite some time...as well as other pages such as Corey Stewart. If you take a look at Stewart's page, it appears his campaign has a history of editing Wikipedia for elections he runs in...this seems to be the case as well since Freitas appears to be running for the same seat Stewart is running for.

I think this warrants page protecting the article until June 12th. Wikipedia is not the place to engage in political campaign or edit wars over politics in my opinion. White Shadows One eye watching you 01:07, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 02:16, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    Temporary semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Camilod and this range. EvergreenFir (talk) 02:47, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    Semi-protection: Current Hot Button topic Jewhealer (talk) 02:56, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: persistant disruptive editing by IP users. This continues despite the page being protected three times since beginning of April. I am requesting long term protection.MitchellLunger (talk) 03:45, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary Semi-protection:The article over the last couple of weeks has been vandalized quite a few times. In fact apart form IP's there even an WP:AUTOC user who's been doing it. Bingobro (Chat) 03:52, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent block evasion, relates to last protection, floating IPv6. John from Idegon (talk) 04:05, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of 1 week, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Fish+Karate 10:48, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – IP-hopping anon (could it be an open ISP because one is Brazil and the other is Hawaii). Removing referenced content without discussion. Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:41, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – ips keep adding unsourced info. Digifan23 (talk) 05:46, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 06:00, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of 1 week, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Fish+Karate 10:46, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite template protection: High-risk template – Or at least semi-protection. Today's vandalism could have been copied to multiple talk pages had it not been caught quickly. John of Reading (talk) 07:16, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    Template protected indefinitely. Fish+Karate 10:42, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary extended confirmed: Persistent vandalism – Regular edit warring and financial changes. Unproductive talk page discussions. Currently the page is in a chaos. See Talk:List of highest-grossing Indian films#Extended protection request. --Let There Be Sunshine 07:58, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Extended confirmed protected for a period of 1 month, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Fish+Karate 10:44, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Repeated vandalism by various IPs. Count Count (talk) 08:44, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Declined – Content dispute. Please use the article's talk page or other forms of dispute resolution. - you not agreeing with a good faith edit an IP editor made does not constitute vandalism. Fish+Karate 10:03, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: Persistent IP vandalism. The page often targeted with far-right vandalism. // Liftarn (talk) 09:46, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Declined – Content dispute. Please use the article's talk page or other forms of dispute resolution. Fish+Karate 10:02, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: BLP violations by IPs and new users. No such user (talk) 09:47, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of 1 week, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Fish+Karate 09:56, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – IP-hopping vandal has been vandalizing the article for the last three weeks. Deli nk (talk) 11:30, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    Semi-protected -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 11:37, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – A few different editors have reverted the IPs that originate from China citing WP:UNDUE and WP:LEAD, regarding the lead of Stephen Chow, but there continues to be disruption with the article, I reverted also only to be countered back from another IP. Probably best to protect the page for a while. Govvy (talk) 12:06, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    Semi-protected -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 12:12, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • List of military special forces units (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) - Persistent disruptive editing, particularly to a specific country's entry, from multiple IP addresses from that same country. Page was just put under protection from May 9 to May 16, and as soon as it expired, the disruptive editing continued; same entry, yet another IP from the same country. Clearly a longer period of protection is required, perhaps even indefinite semi due to the lengthy history of disruptive editing from unregistered users. - theWOLFchild 12:10, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Current requests for reduction in protection level

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
