Federation of the Philippines is a proposed new system of government by which the Philippines will shift from its present unitary form of government to a federal form of government. In change of system, the Philippines is also proposed to be divided into 22 federal states and 3 federal cities and territories. The proposed federal states was based on the geographical position of each island; its cultural, historical and language aspects were considered in binding regions to form a state.
