Welcome to the assessment department of the United States WikiProject! This department focuses on assessing the quality of Wikipedia's articles about the United States or the people of United States. While much of the work is done in conjunction with the WP:1.0 program, the article ratings are also used within the project itself to aid in recognizing excellent contributions and identifying topics in need of further work.

The ratings are done in a distributed fashion through parameters in the {{WikiProject United States}} project banner; this causes the articles to be placed in the appropriate sub-categories of Category:United States articles by quality, which serves as the foundation for an automatically generated worklist.

Frequently asked questions

How can I get my article rated?
Please list it in the section for assessment requests below.
Who can assess articles?
Any member of the United States WikiProject is free to add—or change—the rating of an article.
What if I don't agree with a rating?
You can list it in the section for assessment requests below, and someone will take a look at it. Alternately, you can ask any member of the project to rate the article again.
Aren't the ratings subjective?
Yes, they are, but it's the best system we've been able to devise; if you have a better idea, please don't hesitate to let us know!

If you have any other questions not listed here, please feel free to ask them on the discussion page for this department.

  2. 1800 United States Census - added table of data and various cleanup Sign My Guestbook! User:Sumsum2010 04:03, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Waste in the United States unsure of importance of this article, it seems like it could possibly fit in High but I put mid instead, would like someone to double check. --nn123645 (talk) 05:26, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • I concur with your assessment. Mid seems appropriate although Im kind of surprised the article is only a stub. I wonder if there isn't another similarly named article that has more content. --Kumioko (talk) 08:31, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Recycling in the United States unsure of article rating and importance, seems like a start class based on the examples in the article assessment scale, but I think based on the text it would meet C class. Article also looks like it could be High importance, though again I put mid.--nn123645 (talk) 05:26, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
