Kappil is the north-west border town of Thiruvananthapuram district, in Kerala state, India. It is located in Edava Panchayat at the cost of Arabian Sea, near Varkala.

Tourism

Scenic backwaters, beach and facilities for watersport are available. Nellatil, Edava, Paravur, Nadayara, Varkala etc. are locations in the vicinity which are worth visiting.[opinion]

Kappil is also famous for Kappil Bhagavathy Temple and a tourist spot during the festival season.

How to reach

Though connected by rail, only shuttle trains stop at Kappil. It lies on the Thiruvananthapuram-Kollam railway route. Nearest main Railway Station is Paravur at 4.5 km (2.8 mi) away. Paravur Railway Station is an 'Adersh Railway Station' and a total of 14 pairs of trains have stops here.

Bus service is available to Thiruvananthapuram (65 km (40 mi)), Kollam (30 km (19 mi)), Paravur (4.5 km (2.8 mi)) and Varkala (10 km (6.2 mi)).

Nearest airport is Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.
