Hello Malcolm
I have just edited this page, and tried to move it to The Devil's Brigade (disambiguation), which failed. I was going to request a move, but noticed on the target page's edit history that you recently moved the page the other way. So I thought I would check with you first. I thought the First Special Service Force would be the primary topic for this (it has nearly 5000 page views recorded, as does the film about them, while the band, the album and the comic strip get about 420, 115, and 4, respectively). Do you not think so? Regards, Swanny18 (talk) 17:36, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Swanny18. Yes, I moved it in response to a {{db-movedab}} request that asked for a redirect to be deleted to move a 'malplaced disambiguation page'. Essentially, the guidance is that the title of a disambiguation page is the ambiguous term itself, provided there is no primary topic for that term. There is a WikiProject that works on malplaced disambiguation pages and you can find out more about this at Wikipedia:WikiProject Disambiguation/Malplaced disambiguation pages. As I acted only in an administrative capacity, I have no opinion myself on whether there is a primary topic here. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 18:48, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
- Ah! Thanks for clearing that up. So, do I need to take it up with whoever placed the db move tab? Who would that be, do you remember (has the request been deleted now, along with the page)? Or, what would you suggest? Swanny18 (talk) 16:02, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Swanny18. Since the page was moved in accordance with the guidance, any change is likely to be controversial. I would suggest opening a requested move discussion to gauge consensus on this. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 11:37, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
- Hello, again: That's fair enough, but that does rather beg the question, doesn't it? (ie. whether the person who tagged it was correct in thinking there wasn't a primary topic). I'm happy to open a request move on it (done, here), but I would think that the editor who tagged it ought to be notified, to see if they disagree. Swanny18 (talk) 17:30, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
- OK, well, we'll see how it goes. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 17:34, 16 June 2016 (UTC)

It's one of the worst pages in this Wikipedia. So many authors, so poor the result.Xx236 (talk) 08:09, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Xx236. Yes, there's not much that can be said about this place. It exists, it has a pincode that can be found on the official India Post website; that gives some address info. I can't find any information in the 2011 census of India; I guess it's just too small. A Google search of English-language Indian newspapers is not helpful. Perhaps it would be better redirected to a 'list of villages in Lakhimpur district'. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 23:49, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
RDX Sports
Dear,
I have been trying to recreate a page after it had been removed. The page is just an introduction about a sports manufacturing company. However my efforts have been in vein as the administrators are not allowing. It is requested that the page be allowed to publish as it has no promotion material inside.
If I’m doing anything wrong please help me fix that problem. It will be highly appreciated. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidboom (talk • contribs) 11:44, 21 June 2016 (UTC)

Re: Deletion of Pradeep Gupta's Page
Dear Malcolm, This is with regards to a page that was voted to be deleted of Mr. Pradeep Gupta, CMD, CyberMedia India Ltd. The discussion for the same is here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Pradeep_Gupta
I would request for a re-assessment of this decision, as Mr. Gupta has played a key role in shaping the Indian IT industry and is a notable name in India. Am giving below a few notable achievements by him, but should you require any other info to help bring this page back, then I would be more than happy to provide. Thanks and really look forward to your response.
A few facts About Pradeep Gupta He's an Angel investor and has mentored over 150 start-ups. He is the co-founder of Indian Angel Network, Asia’s largest angel network with more than 300 members that has done over 70 deals. Currently IAN invests in 30-40 deals each year. Some successful exits of IAN include Druvaa Software, StayZilla etc.
Till 2015, he was also on the Board of UTI AMC and its subsidiary UTI Capital. UTI AMC is India’s 5th largest AMC with $20 Bn of AUM. UTI Capital ran the $ 80 Mn India Infrastructure Development Fund (IIDF).

Dear
- Hello Anilchopra1973. My role in that discussion was to determine the consensus of those taking part and then to carry it out. The challenge was that Mr Gupta did not meet Wikipedia's inclusion criteria for an article in the encyclopedia and there was unanimous agreement that this was the case. I do not see that I could have come to any other conclusion as to the outcome of that discussion other than 'delete'. If you feel that I erred in my reading of the consensus of the discussion, you may raise it at Wikipedia:Deletion review (but I do not recommend that course since the discussion is so clear).
- The basis for an article in Wikipedia is: "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article..." (Wikipedia:Notability) and "People are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject." (Wikipedia:Notability (people)).
- The page could be recreated but it would have to be sufficiently improved from the original so that the result of the deletion discussion no longer apply. If you were to come forward with multiple reliable sources independent of each other and of Mr Gupta, that discuss him and his work in some depth, then we could look at this again. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 12:50, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- Dear User:Malcolmxl5. I understand and respect Wikipedia's inclusion criteria. Please find below a few reliable sources, independent of each other and of Mr. Gupta, which highlight his contributions to the Indian IT industry:
Mr. Gupta has been recognized in the book Global 101 IITians, a book sold on Amazon: [1]
Mr. Gupta in an on-stage discussion with the current PM of India, Mr. Narendra Modi: [2]
Interviews of Mr. Gupta carried by leading online portals, i.e. Indiainfoline, rediff, WSJ, etc: [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]
I hope that the above are sufficient to re-consider publishing Mr. Gupta's page. Would request you to re-evaluate. Anilchopra1973 (talk) 08:34, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

It appears you AfD'ed Chris Keniston earlier and, I imagine, the first iteration was sourced entirely to the party's website as some of these third party candidate articles tend to be. I found a fair number of RS that have cropped-up since the AfD passed and have, I think, salvaged it but wanted to drop you a line so you didn't think it was being endlessly recreated. Articles for deletion/Thakkallapally Dayakar rao - Request for undeletion
Articles for deletion/Thakkallapally Dayakar rao Hi Malcolmxl5, Hope you are doing great ! This is anvesh, i am the author of the page Thakkallapally Dayakar rao. I have requested for undeletion of this page. The initial reason is that i have not provided enough proofs. I have all the proofs with pictures of contributions done by the person i mentioned in the page. I even have links corresponding to the articles written by him. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anveshrao9 (talk • contribs) 05:04, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
- Hello Anveshrao9. :) You understand that to demonstrate that Thakkallapally Dayakar rao meets Wikipedia's inclusion criteria for an article in the encyclopedia, what is needed is significant coverage in independent and reliable sources. That is, Thakkallapally Dayakar rao has been written about in some detail in a source that has nothing to do with him, has editorial oversight and a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy. If you would like to list your sources here, we could have a look at them. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 11:31, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
Hi --Malcolmxl5, I have many refernces , as of now i want to post a prestigious history book written by Dayakar rao : It is available on Amazon.in . It has a ISBN-10 = 8190890697 ISBN-13 = 978-8190890694. i will provide many other books. I wanted to have an article on the book "History of Velama Kingdoms Rachakonda and Devarakonda", but unable to find the author's wiki page. hence here by i request you to Undelete the page "Thakkallapally Dayakar rao". Please kindly update me if i need to provide any other sources for undeletion. Ciaran Kilduff
This page has been deleted twice on me now. He is ready to start his 2nd campaign in the Europa League which is a fully professional competition and the 2nd highest club competition in Europe. He plays for a fully professional team at the top level of domestic football in Ireland. He has won Player of the month award. I think if you restore the page then I can add the references and sources. His performances have made headlines locally, nationally and internationally.
Full article interview piece in national paper here
National coverage here and here and international headlines here
His EUFA Champions League profile his 5 appearances were in qualifying rounds here
Awards achieved here
Appearance in the Europa League already here and again likely to participate this year.
Can the page be restored please? DavidDublin (talk) 14:05, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
- Actually came on your user page to enquire about the same article, @Malcolmxl5:. As chance would have it, since DavidDublin's original post, Kilduff has scored in the UEFA Europa League group stage for Dundalk and received a lot of acclaim for this huge achievement. There are numerous articles and significant coverage in relation to the subject online from national media and I imagine more will follow. If it's possible to restore the old page to my own draft page as has been done with articles on other Dundalk who have since met the criteria for WP:GNG then I'll get to work on adding sources and references for further review. Or if @DavidDublin: would prefer to take it onboard that's absolutely fine. Thanks! --IrishTennis (talk) 20:19, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
Extended confirmed protection
Hello, Malcolmxl5. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.
Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.
In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:
- Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
- A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.
Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.
This message was sent to the administrators' mass message list. To opt-out of future messages, please remove yourself from the list. 17:48, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

Two-Factor Authentication now available for admins
Hello,
Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. A new user right for New Page Patrollers
Hi Malcolmxl5.
A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.
It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.
If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:47, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, Malcolmxl5. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. Bob Mahoney (director)
Hi Malcolm – sorry I'm a bit new to Wikipedia!
I can't work out how to add a disambiguation page, would you mind helping me?
When you search "Bob Mahoney" in wikipedia, it automatically goes to a baseball player. I'd like it to go to a disambiguation page and from there you can choose the baseball player or the film director. Many thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sellotapemaskingtape (talk • contribs) 12:10, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Sellotapemaskingtape: Hello and welcome, Sellotapemaskingtape. In a situation such as this where there are only two articles for people named 'Bob Mahoney' and one is the primary topic (the baseball player), we would usually use a hat note - a note at the top of the page for the baseball player - to direct people to the other page if that is what they are looking for. I'll sort that for you. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 15:53, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

Page protection at Novo Banco
Hello, Malcolm. I see that you placed the above-named article under protection. But it seems that this protection will not be needed. As I discuss in more detail in this Talk page posting here, the IP addresses weren't completely wrong in their actions and, by the same token, the reversions were not completely correct. I've rescued the links that were the subject of the reversions and this will likely resolve the problem. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. NewYorkActuary (talk) 02:58, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
- @NewYorkActuary:. Thanks for clarifying the issue. I'll lift the protection and we'll see how it goes. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 03:05, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
Block user talk page access for 2600:8800:FF0E:1200:150C:31B:85B8:805E
@Malcolmxl5: Thanks for blocking the wikihounding IP, 2600:8800:FF0E:1200:150C:31B:85B8:805E, but can you block that IP from accessing its talk page? It keeps on removing the warnings added on the page, and I'm tired of repeatedly removing the warnings already posted. TagaSanPedroAko (talk) 08:52, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
- @TagaSanPedroAko:. Hi TagaSanPedroAko, I wouldn't worry too much about the talk page. We can assume that the user has read the warnings/block message and is aware of what they say. We can find them in the history if we need them. I have the page on my watchlist should they make an unblock request (which I think is unlikely) or write anything else. Deleted redirects
Yesterday you quite properly deleted a large batch of redirects pointing to non-existent articles (about cricketers). Unfortunately some of the targets had semi-automatically been moved erroneously and they have now been returned to main space. For example Arthur Somerville Archdale pointing to Arthur Archdale. Others are being examined in draft space and some will be restored, possibly after improvements. A list of the articles moved is at move log. Is it possible to identify which redirects were deleted so they can be restored? Some have already been restored in an ad hoc way. It would be useful to know what redirects will need to be restored for any articles being returned to main space in future. The discussion about all this is at WT:CRIC#Draftification of over 500 cricket biographies. Thank you for any help you are able to give for this very unfortunate incident. Thincat (talk) 11:16, 1 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Thincat: Hi Thincat, that is unfortunate. The redirects are all in my deletion log dated 31 August - about 75 of them - identifiable by the tag 'G8: Redirect to a deleted or non-existent page'. There are only a few other deletions on that day so the cricket related ones can be seen quite easily. I'll have a look through for any where the target has been moved back to mainspace. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 11:58, 1 September 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you. I've reported back to the cricketers (I am not one of them – hated it at school!). Thincat (talk) 12:14, 1 September 2017 (UTC)

- ACTRIAL, a research experiment that restricts article creation to autoconfirmed users, will begin on September 7. It will run for six months. You can learn more about the research specifics at meta:Research:Autoconfirmed article creation trial, while Wikipedia talk:Autoconfirmed article creation trial is probably the best venue for general discussion.
- Following an RfC, WP:G13 speedy deletion criterion now applies to any page in the draftspace that has not been edited in six months. There is a bot-generated report, updated daily, to help identify potentially qualifying drafts that have not been submitted through articles for creation.
- You will now get a notification when someone tries to log in to your account and fails. If they try from a device that has logged into your account before, you will be notified after five failed attempts. You can also set in your preferences to get an email when someone logs in to your account from a new device or IP address, which may be encouraged for admins and accounts with sensitive permissions.
- Syntax highlighting is now available as a beta feature (more info). This may assist administrators and template editors when dealing with intricate syntax of high-risk templates and system messages.
- In your notification preferences, you can now block specific users from pinging you. This functionality will soon be available for Special:EmailUser as well.
- Applications for CheckUser and Oversight are being accepted by the Arbitration Committee until September 12. Community discussion of the candidates will begin on September 18.

Hi Malcolmxl5, hope you're doing well,
I noticed that these two articles were each deleted as a result of "one author who has requested deletion or blanked the page".
However as these two stub articles were pulled from the Video Game Wikiproject's official "Requests" page, I am unsure as to why those authors would request deletion for their own articles or blank their own pages.
I request that the articles be reinstated and instead be taken to AFD where a more complete discussion can be held to further establish notablity.

Redirect pages
Please could you compare other pages before you redirect existing pages?, you recently redirected 'List of rulers named Rhun' to 'Rhun (Welsh given name)' however, pages such as List of rulers named Henry & Henry (given name) is still up, if you're redirecting Rhun, then you're going to have to do the same with other similar pages also, but because Henry is a popular royal (and given) name, I doubt they will be fused/redirected, If you feel like reverting my 'undo', please give a reason why and give details as to how one subject has more paramount powers over the other when they hold exactly the same weight in subjects.

Italian War Crimes?
Hello Malcomxl5,
I was going through the edit history for the article on Italian War Crimes, and was wondering how your latest revision worked regarding pp/vandalism
I'm doing a presentation on the reliability of Wikipedia, and a friend directed me to the page as one that they often edited for fun. I noticed now that its impossible to edit without authorization. Could you describe the process for me? Thanks in advance — Preceding unsigned comment added by Partinazi (talk • contribs) 15:43, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Partinazi,
- The purpose of Wikipedia is to create a high-quality, free-content encyclopedia in an atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual respect among contributors. It is written collaboratively by the people who use it. Contributors are encouraged to be bold and to make an edit to improve the encyclopedia. Addition of content will usually need to be accompanied by a good quality reference so the facts can be verified. Significant coverage in multiple reliable sources about a subject are usually required to meet the criteria for an article in the encyclopedia.
- If another contributor disagrees with an edit, that edit may be undone (a 'revert'). At this point, contributors are expected to discuss the changes that they would like to make to the article, usually on the article's talk page, and reach consensus on what should be included, having regard to the policies and guidelines of Wikipedia. If they cannot agree, other means of resolving disputes may be used with the aim of reaching consensus. Controversial topics will usually require discussion and consensus before making an edit.
- Wikipedia:Contributing to Wikipedia provides useful information on editing. New editors are invited to the Teahouse, an area specifically for new users to get help with editing, article creation, and general Wikipedia use, in a friendly environment.
- Contributors whose actions are detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia may be asked to refrain from them or may be sanctioned. Pages may be protected to prevented disruptive editing between multiple users or to prevent vandalism. If a page is protected and a contributor would like an edit to be made to it, they may request an edit on the article's talk page.
- Does that help? --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 18:24, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you, that was very helpful — Preceding unsigned comment added by 18:48, 22 September 2017 (talk • contribs) Partinazi (UTC)

My page on FairFX deleted - I haven't been helped with the reasons
Hello,
I am new to this place, and I started learning things with simple edits. After too much of reading and some editing I tried to create a page for FairFX group plc, one of the services that I use regularly. I chose this subject because, it was not complex, and it had good number of references. The biggest reason was that, I didn't want my first article to be deleted( which was the reason was not lengthy).. But, now the page has been deleted.
For the first time, it was deleted, I asked the moderator subjected by writing for speedy deletion for the reason, and the answer I got was that, the content was spam. Then, I just got my content reviewed by Keith D(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Keith_D). I was asked to work on the Business Model and History section, as it was complex.
Once, I rewrote the content I got it reviewed by Keith again, and he said it was good to go, and only then was it published. It was again deleted, and then I was asked a couple questions, and I have answered them already - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:JustinSilva94
Here is the article that I have written - http://www92.zippyshare.com/v/rrX7BqHy/file.html
Could you please let me know, what I should be doing? JustinSilva94 (talk) 14:05, 27 September 2017 (UTC)
- @JustinSilva94: Oh dear, you've chosen a particularly problematic topic to work on. It has a history of promotional and conflict of interest editing over a number of years, and multiple deletions across two pages, including two community decisions for deletion, so much so that pages have been locked so the article can't be recreated. That being so, if you want to persevere with it, you will have to follow the article for creation route. I'm not sure that my advice is worth much when it come to articles about companies but for what it is worth, I would suggest writing about the history of the company, not about the services or products it provides, the company philosophy or business methods, who the officers are or awards - none of that. The problem of course, is that being a relatively young company there won't be much history, probably not enough to fill out more than a paragraph and you may be better off just moving on and finding another topic to write about. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 19:37, 27 September 2017 (UTC)

Archive editing
You asked me not to edit your archives, and I will try to respect that. Recently Wikipedia has set up a system that reveals lint errors. See Special:LintErrors. These are pages that are already causing problems, or could pose problems in the future. When I edit talk pages, I am careful to change only the lint error items. I don't "clean up" anything else. At least one other Wikipedia editor has thanked me for editing talk pages, some of which are archives.
Of course archive pages should usually be preserved, but I do edit them to fix certain blatant errors, such as failing to include {{Reflist-talk}}
sectionally, making references difficult to find. Occasionally I use page histories to "sign" and date entries that weren't signed and dated when created. Except for you, nobody has ever complained about my editing talk pages, including archives, in such careful and limited ways.
Anyway, since you asked, I will try to avoid editing your talk page archives, but if I screw up and do so, please just go ahead and revert me. —Anomalocaris (talk) 09:03, 1 October 2017 (UTC)

Hi, just letting you know there are now separate {{uw-blank1}} and {{uw-blank2}} templates for when somebody removes all content from a page, as opposed to merely removing some content without adequate explanation. You may wish to make use of these next time you find that someone has blanked a page (or otherwise left it in a state that would qualify as {{db-nocontent}} if there were no suitable version to revert to). — Smjg (talk) 12:37, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

- No problem, Beyond My Ken. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 03:21, 16 November 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for protecting my user talkpage
Thank you for protecting my user talk - that persistent spamming vandal had come back with a vengeance. He spams my user talk and some other user talk with content/coding about "LarryBoy"/"Pajama Sam/Thomas the Tank Engine"/etc.
The last time he did this to my page was March 2017. He's also done the same or very similar disruptive editing on my user talk in September 2016. Shearonink (talk) 07:07, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
- No problem, Shearonink. I’ve not heard of this vandal before, I will have to look out for it. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 08:40, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
David Cassidy
Hey,
Hope you don't mind but I changed the protection for this. Over here in Florida there's been websites falsely claiming he's died and I get the feeling this will go on longer than 24 hours. Feel free to change it though 5 albert square (talk) 02:25, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
- No problem, 5 albert square, better safe than sorry! --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 02:38, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
- My thinking too especially as it's a BLP article. His poor family having to go through this. 5 albert square (talk) 03:44, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, it’s very sad. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 03:57, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
- What do you reckon to unprotecting it in a week? Should give any hype about his death the chance to die down 5 albert square (talk) 01:32, 23 November 2017 (UTC)
- Hi 5 albert square. Yes, that should do it. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 14:45, 23 November 2017 (UTC)
Hi Malcolmxl5, I'm just working on an update for the Bill Robinson article and I'm missing a little detail. I'm trying to complete the career stats table, but I don't know of any online sources that have historical stats for Charlton players. I see from the WP:FOOTY Booklist that you're listed as having a copy of "Cameron, Colin (2003). Home & Away with Charlton Athletic 1920–2004. If you still have this and it's to hand, if you could do me a massive favour and fill in the gaps for me, that'd be great (or, if you know of any online sources, that'd also be great!). I've dumped the table on the talk page. If you can't, don't worry. I'll add it to my list for a BL visit. Thanks, Nzd (talk) 00:20, 27 November 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Nzd, I’ve filled in the Charlton Athletics stats. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 17:04, 27 November 2017 (UTC)
- Brilliant, thank you. Nzd (talk) 19:35, 27 November 2017 (UTC)
ANI Experiences survey
The Wikimedia Foundation Community health initiative (led by the Safety and Support and Anti-Harassment Tools team) is conducting a survey for en.wikipedia contributors on their experience and satisfaction level with the Administrator’s Noticeboard/Incidents. This survey will be integral to gathering information about how this noticeboard works - which problems it deals with well, and which problems it struggles with.
The survey should take 10-20 minutes to answer, and your individual responses will not be made public. The survey is delivered through Google Forms. The privacy policy for the survey describes how and when Wikimedia collects, uses, and shares the information we receive from survey participants and can be found here:
If you would like to take this survey, please sign up on this page, and a link for the survey will be mailed to you via Special:Emailuser.

learning by mistake
So an admin creates an article under a cryptic title containing an internal mailing list and you call it "learning by mistake". Wow. Yecril (talk) 09:23, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – December 2017
News and updates for administrators from the past month (November 2017).
- Following a request for comment, a new section has been added to the username policy which disallows usernames containing emoji, emoticons or otherwise "decorative" usernames, and usernames that use any non-language symbols. Administrators should discuss issues related to these types of usernames before blocking.
- Wikimedians are now invited to vote on the proposals in the 2017 Community Wishlist Survey on Meta Wiki until 10 December 2017. In particular, there is a section of the survey regarding new tools for administrators and for anti-harassment.
- A new function is available to edit filter managers which can be used to store matches from regular expressions.
- Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is open until Sunday 23:59, 10 December 2017 (UTC). There are 12 candidates running for 8 vacant seats.
- Over the last few months, several users have reported backlogs that require administrator attention at WP:ANI, with the most common backlogs showing up on WP:SPI, WP:AIV and WP:RFPP. It is requested that all administrators take some time during this month to help clear backlogs wherever possible. It should be noted that AIV reports are not always valid; however, they still need to be cleared, which may include needing to remind users on what qualifies as vandalism.
