    Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied, restored as a draft or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.

    This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page.     • So if I simply add the name of an article that has been PRODed to this page it will be deleted? We have to provide a rationale to delete or the AfD is rejected by the closing admin. Why doesn't a rationale have to be provided to restore? This needs to change as it's clearly a waste of the project's time to restore a non-notable subject on a whim.     He has over 3200 citations (non-self citations), as per NASA/ADS database, a h-index of 39 (NASA/ADS source), he was cited several times by the Nobel prize 2006 George F. Smoot who is enlisted in the editorial board of a peer-reviewed journal, Universe, directed by Iorio himself. Also the Nobel Prize Kip Thorne cited a work of him in his latest book, and Sir Roger Penrose is enlisted in the editorial board of the journal directed by him. Wikipedia hosts articles for several other scientists in his field who are at a lower levels. It seems to me that its page was deleted because of sockpuppetry issues, not for truly scientific reasons. In any case, years have passed since then.     Mathletics (educational software)

    I just noticed that this was deleted. The deletion rationale was "G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion", which is bizarre because I made an effort to make the content neutral and informative.     @Coin945: Um... there are exactly zero edits from you in the deleted history of that article. Were you thinking of a different one? In any case, I have looked at the deleted version and while I agree it's promotional, it doesn't seem unambiguously promotional. And the creator is a long-term low-volume editor who has edited a variety of subjects and doesn't appear to have a COI, so I couldn't say for certain that the article was created for publicity purposes. It isn't clear-cut to me. But because it was deleted per WP:G11, the person to ask about restoring it (perhaps to draft space) would be the deleting administrator Dlohcierekim (talk · contribs). ~Anachronist (talk) 01:21, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    This was image was deleted as a derivative work, as it includes video game cartridge artwork. However, the artwork is only a small part of the image; the main purpose of the image is to show how two video game cartridges can be connected.     • Well, to be fair, we're all talking about it based on a memory of the image years ago, and we don't seem to have a great knowledge of Wikipedia copyright policy between us. (The editors in the discussion Joe linked, I mean.) From the sounds of it we're better off sourcing or creating a new image with less of the artwork on on display, but it'd be helpful to see the original image so we can see where the limits are.     Game art is allowed under fair use, so there must be some way that the image can be stored under a fair use license. Was the original reason it was deleted because the uploader tried to release the photo as public? - X201 (talk) 12:07, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    It was deleted because people like deleting things, with a single person calling it "derivative work of the game cartridge art" that got it removed.     We do allow game art under fair use, but only if it meets the non-free content criteria. One of these is that the image must not be replaceable with a free alternative. In the case of game art being used to show the reader what the game art looks like that is not replaceable and it is frequently OK to use it under fair use. This image is being used to demonstrate how two cartridges can be linked together, and you don't need to use the copyrighted portion for that. A picture of two blank cartridges being linked together would serve exactly the same purpose and would be a free image. Hut 8.5 19:09, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    Rype

    The page Rype has been requested for speedy deletion, even though there looks to be sufficient references from credible sources including Forbes, Huffington Post, Inc. Magazine, and more that either mentions or is featuring the brand. The first reason for deletion seems to be because it's not showing importance, but given the media exposure from credible sources in addition to the number of lessons booked on the platform: 150,000, it appears to show credibility. The second reason is because it claims to have unambigious advertising, but there is no direct call to action or references that may appear to be advertising the brand. The language used of the brand is neutral with no direct mentions on why it's better than similar products or even a mention of its main benefits.     @Jéské Couriano: Actually, WP:A7 was probably the real reason for deletion. I looked at the deleted version, and it definitely isn't written in a promotional manner. It's rather well written, actually. It seems well sourced at first glance, but the sources don't confer notability on the subject.     Massacre of Brzostowica Mała

    First, my vote count suggest 'no consensus' rather than preference delete (merge 1, Delete 6, Keep 7). Second, deleting admin (User:Sandstein) noted problems with verifiability, which puzzles me. He notes the lack of English language sources, but so what? WP:NOENG and such - an experienced editor such as him should know well no English language sources are necessary for a topic to be notable (and verifiable). His opinion that " controversial issues in WP:AC/DS topic areas do require good sources in more than one (non-English) language in order to allow as many editors as possible, and not just a few or those possibly associated with one side of a conflict, to assess the content" is totally novel and goes against NOENG spirit. We DO NOT need English language sources to estabilish notability or reliability, scholarship in Foo language is totally fine. Finally, he mentions issues with neutrality and the controversy about perpetrators ethnicity. Neutrality is never a factor in AfD when it comes to deciding whether a topic can be deleted or not, we have {{NPOV}} that suffices for content disputes. Further, as I stated on the talk page of the article where we had a relevant discussion (now deleted...), yes, there are no good sources for this controversial description of the massacre perpetrators ethnicity (regardless of language, when I reviewed this article yesterday or so I couldn't find a single source in any language for that claim, as I noted on the talk). I expected within the few days at most we would remove relevant adjectives from the article as unsourced, and should address neutrality concerns. A lot of people participating in this AfD voted 'delete' because they DONTLIKE said claims about ethnicity of perpetrators - an invalid deletion rationale, and anyway, irrelevant concern since this claim is likely not going to survive in the article because I don't think it is verifiable. But to delete the article about a notable event just because of controversy over a single claim is IMHO quite improper. To summarize: there was no consensus for delete, and I don't see any valid reasons for deletion of this notable topic, controversy over a single fact (nationality of the perps) is not relevant to the notability of the main topic (massacre did happen, nobody disputes that). —Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:34, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

In that case, in line with Wikipedia:Userfication ("For help getting a copy of a deleted article, to put into your userspace, see Category:Wikipedia administrators willing to provide copies of deleted articles, or post at Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion), I'd like to ask for this to be userfied in my userspace, since as at least one other editor suggested in the AfD, parts of this may be eligible for merging to Skidel revolt.     Initial deletion argued that she had not done much substantial work herself, but was mostly talked about in relation to her famous husband. The page was marked a deletion and redirect to her husband's, Patton Oswalt. Since then her book, I'll be Gone in the Dark, was published.     Not done – this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion.
