Casting

Nakuul Mehta was finalized to play the male lead, Ram.[6] For the female lead Priya, Kapoor's first choice was Divyanka Tripathi with whom she had worked already in the show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein (2013–19).[7] She even did the look test for her role, but later rejected it as she couldn't connect herself with the character. Then Devoleena Bhattacharjee was considered for the role, but she wasn't selected too.[8] Lastly, Disha Parmar was approached and finally locked by the makers. Hence, Disha Parmar and Nakuul Mehta will reprise Priya and Ram’s role in the new season.[3] The show marks the second collaboration between Mehta and Parmar as they had previously co-starred in Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara.[9][10]
