Reviewer permission

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:00, 8 November 2010 (UTC) [reply]

Re:Ice hockey captains

Hi, thank you for your third opinion. Outside viewpoints are always good. I certainly appreciate your suggestion that adding a link to Captain (ice hockey) is beneficial, and had already suggested that Dolovis add such a link in context. We'll see where it goes from there. Thanks! Resolute 14:44, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Hi, Aeonx, I just wanted to say thanks for your work in assessing Military history articles. It is much appreciated. Cheers, AustralianRupert (talk) 21:37, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bernhard Deroy

Thanks for assessing Jean-Pierre Doumerc. I was afraid that the uncited German wikipedia references would preclude giving the Bernhard Erasmus von Deroy article a B-class rating. Removing the uncited material means a lot of the article will be missing, so I'm not anxious to do that and may just leave it as Start. Thanks for your thoughts. Djmaschek (talk) 02:48, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your request for rollback

Hi Aeonx. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Tiptoety talk 18:05, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sword-citation

thx for the comment, Do you think it's necessary to use such templates in order to get sword up to GA status?--84.229.106.220 (talk) 14:43, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Citation templates are not required for GA status; however they often make it a lot easier for references to be cited correct so that they conform to GA citation criteria. See: Wikipedia:Cite#Citation_styles_and_consistency.Aeonx (talk) 01:47, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I wonder if you could help me since i don't understand exactly how to create a template for the Article--84.229.106.220 (talk) 18:33, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is this in regards to the navbox suggestion I made, or to citations?
For citations, you don't need to make a template, you simply fill in the 'fields' |url= |date= |author= |page= |publisher= etc. I can change the references to use the Wikipedia citation templates if you like.
For the navbox, it may be a bit tricky for a new user; you might be best copying an existing navbox template to start then removing and restructuring the links to fix with the topic of sword. If I get time, I might start one.
And should i move all the books in the reference to the bibliography section and just mention the author's name and page number?--84.229.106.220 (talk) 21:12, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you are citing a certain section, pages or page of a book (or other resource) more than once, you can refer to it using it's ref name. However, if you are citing different sections or different pages from the same book (or resource) then you should be it to the Bibliography, and simple cite the Author's last name, followed by the page number(s). Aeonx (talk) 01:47, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sword-History Section restructuring

I was wondering what you think about the new restructuring of the history section, I'm still not settled about it- what do you think?---84.229.106.220 (talk) 11:41, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I probably won't have a chance to look at it for a few days, but I will once I get a chance. Aeonx (talk) 12:28, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

and could you please start a template for swords, I want to make one but don't know how. Once one will be created i can arrange it nicely due--84.229.106.220 (talk) 11:43, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I started on a rough draft of a navbox template for Swords; but I wasn't too sure about it. You can check it out here: Template:Swords by region navbox Aeonx (talk) 12:28, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request for access to ACC account creation interface

Confirmation that I have requested access to the ACC account creation interface and that I have read the Wikipedia:Request an account/Guide. Aeonx (talk) 13:03, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for applying to access the account creation tool. Unfortunately I was unable to process your request. The ACC tool is a powerful program, and at the present time your account is either too new for us to determine whether you would know how to properly use the tool or that you have not attained the necessary level of trust to be granted access. Please don't take this personally and feel free to contact me if you have any questions. FunPika 17:47, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am curious as to why you made this decision. I reviewed the Wikipedia:Request an account/Guide#Qualifications for using the interface which state: Usually a user should simply be trusted by the approving administrator., further I believe I meet all the minimum requirements as I have not had a block on the English Wikipedia or any wiki or sister project; I do not have any history of account-related abuse; my account on Wikipedia was created on 8/5/2010[1] and is therefore over 60 days old; and lastly I have throughly read the ACC guidelines. Further, as far as I know I haven't done anything to demonstrate anything but full trustworthiness. The reason I applied for access to the ACC account creation interface is because I work in User Account management professionally and I am curious and willing to help in regards to the en-wiki account creation process, I have absolutely no intention on misusing the tool in anyway, and hopefully my use of other wikipedia tools including STiki, Twinkle, Huggle, AWB and my role as a Reviewer demonstrate this. So I am hoping you can review my case again, or refer it to another interface administrator. Regards, Aeonx (talk) 03:28, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

First Punic war restructuring

Looking forward to your input on the newly restructured article. I'm still having some trouble with the multitude of pictures- all of them informative and great just awkwardly placed - but overall i think the main problems have been addressed.--Macarenses (talk) 18:03, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. You've done a great job editing it. I've positioned the images a bit better, yeah yes it's hard to get a good fit (What would really help is perhaps an animation, maybe that would be something to consider if the article developed towards FA/A-status). What sometimes helps is adjusting the size of your Browser window to different widths, to get an idea of what the article will look like on different people's screens. I've reassessed the article as B class. Aeonx (talk) 06:15, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

if you can blame a browser all the better :) SatuSuro 03:55, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like we are both foiled by our spelling, disiciplinary was not the correct spelling either!
I've reported the issue at [2] since the correction was semi-automated using AWB typo fixes. - Aeonx (talk) 03:58, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I saw that variant! - and I do know of one editor of some years now who spends his whole editing life either creating railway articles (poor or no sources - dubious maps etc) or going through the very very large range of typos - astonishing the number that creep in - keep up the good work!! SatuSuro 04:02, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since i'm still quite green in judging the quality of article i want to now if you think this article should be nominated for FA status.thx.--Macarenses (talk) 09:30, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure. I have very little experience with the FA process. Might be better asking someone active in FA discussions. You should also check out WP:FAC and follow the process before nominating an article. Aeonx (talk) 07:27, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I have closed the GA review as a Fail. It's a decent article, but there are still issues regarding broad coverage. I have some spare time coming up so I'm hoping to pitch in and help out, and then it can be renominated. SilkTork *YES! 11:28, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. When I nominated it I had plenty of time to do necessary editing; however things changed shortly after and I couldn't contribute as much I would've liked. I hope to get back to it at some point. Anyways, Thanks for all the hard work you put in to handling the review. Kind Regards, Aeonx (talk) 06:32, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Added template for SuggestBot

Hi,

Thanks for being one of SuggestBot's users! I hope you have found the bot's suggestions useful.

We are in the process of switching from our previous list-based signup process to using templates and userboxes, and I have therefore added the appropriate template to your user talk page. You should receive the first set of suggestions within a day, and since we'll be automating SuggestBot you will from then on continue to receive them regularly at the desired frequency.

We now also have a userbox that you can use to let others know you're using SuggestBot, and if you don't want to clutter your user talk page the bot can post to a sub-page in your userspace. More information about the userbox and usage of the template is available on User:SuggestBot/Getting Recommendations Regularly.

If there are any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me on my user talk page. Thanks again, Nettrom (talk) 16:00, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

They vandalize Greece s history!

if you are Greek man just say ur reperts too. They dont want reference the Greek history(strong example)1tabachaniotika made in Patra's area ταμπαχανιωτικα in article greek music nowhere reference it they hide Greek history 2.The zeimpekikos comes the first part of Zeus and the second from the injectors or vekos this word meaning "bread" in Herodotus as the dictionary says, after in the years of Othomany Greeks from Thrace take this name from there Its clearly that belongs in ancient Greece where Thracians later founded a colony in Asia Minor Tralleis so Its about greek ancient world and must reference it in article zeibekiko, otherwise its vandalism of Greek history and historicals will surely report all that. Now a second observation (for God sh..) its in article of "music of Greece" , specifficly in "laiko" wherever you research on google! ,whorever writer you ask!,there is nowhere! a similar "wrong" explaination about the laiko's genre coming .Where are you people when "somebody" vandalize with that ways the wiki?>??? why you all this?
