Regarding Cirque KA changes

Hello. Sorry about the changes I made referring to the 2013 accident on Ka. The reason being is that it's already mentioned in the Ka page and on the Fatalities sections, so I felt it was being repeated too many times (do check again). And I didn't mention it in the changes because I really don't know how since I'm a independent contributor that doesn't wish to register with Wiki (I like my freedom and anonymity). Again, my deepest apologies and no disrespect intended. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.136.54.8 (talk) 20:56, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I think you should be very careful when removing interlanguage links. I think bots (or a bot) populated Wikidata back in December, so there are many links not present there. You should check if every link is present in Wikidata and leave the ones that aren't. --Moscow Connection (talk) 18:15, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Read this, by the way: Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Removing Wikidata interwiki links and their reversal. Try the script recommended by Rschen7754 there. I haven't because I don't edit Wikidata yet. But I'm worried cause you may want to delete interlanguage links from all Japan-related articles. :) --Moscow Connection (talk) 19:21, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads-up. But don't worry, I checked most of my removals, and the interwiki links did show up (although in at least one case it didn't, so I have to revert it). Maybe I'll try the script too. And no, I only want to remove interwiki links from articles I want to edit ;) Happy editing! Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:27, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I don't know how to use the script, by the way. --Moscow Connection (talk) 04:26, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry to say this, but I thought I would show you an example of how your edits had damaged Wikipedia and I found these in a matter of minutes. :) Not in Wikidata: uz:Manga, kk:Elfen Lied, be-x-old:Elfen Lied. Incorrectly linked in Wikidata: eo:Mijazaki Hajao. I simply wanted to find some examples, so I looked at the most popular pages. --Moscow Connection (talk) 04:48, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You can always revert the edits, or better yet, add the missing links to Wikidata ;) I don't mind being trouted at this point. It will teach me to be a little more careful with my edits. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 04:55, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've corrected these 4 links just to show you how clever I am. But I didn't check other links. To be honest, I simply noticed (looked at creation dates) that Wikidata was populated by bots in November–December, so I just browsed through your contribution history, opened the most popular articles and checked if there were any interlanguage links changed or added to them lately. (By the way, I have your talk page in my watchlist at the moment, I always do it when I start a conversation with someone.) --Moscow Connection (talk) 05:45, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
And, by the way, in case you have difficulties with Wikidata (as I did)... First of all, I noticed that Wikidata wasn't listed in my SUL info. So I logged to Wikidata with the same password I have here, after which I found "wikidatawiki" automatically added to my SUL. (I didn't register, I simply entered the same login and password, and I found out that I was already there.) Then, I mostly use Internet Explorer, and I couldn't see any "edit", "add", etc. links in Wikidata when I was using it. I saw interwikis, but I didn't see any way to edit or add anything. Chrome and Firefox will work. --Moscow Connection (talk) 05:45, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How come you never notified me that you sent the page to AFD after declining my PROD? The article is in a shit state. The only references in the article regard the charting information for some songs from K-On. It's a dictionary definition at best. Come on now.—Ryulong (琉竜) 03:10, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry Ryulong, sorry that I forgot to notify you. Probably because I thought that the page was on your watchlist and that you would see my edit. I should have at least informed you. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 03:53, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It's sorta upsetting that the AFD closed as keep just because "we know it exists". The sources do not support the notability of the subject. They support the notability of K-On's music. And oddly enough the article was on my watchlist. I just somehow missed the AFD entirely.—Ryulong (琉竜) 03:58, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, if you don't agree with the outcome of the discussion, you can always take it to WP:DELREV, or wait a few months, then re-nominate it for deletion. Honestly, I have no opinion on the article, I only sent it to AfD because the PROD was likely to be challenged because of the sources even though your rationale had some merit. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 04:16, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
My PROD explicitly stated that the sources were bad. I don't see why you felt the need to send it to AFd.—Ryulong (琉竜) 05:57, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Two things

I'm cleaning up Attack on Titan and I'm noticing two things, the first is a continuing trend, and the second is a mistake you made. First, songs whose titles are in Japanese should not have their titles be literally translated into English. I am noticing this a lot on anime and manga articles, even though the Japanese manual of style does not proscribe this action. I think something needs to be stated somewhere to the effect that "Unless a song is primarily known by its translated title (ex. "A Cruel Angel's Thesis"), do not translate song titles" And secondly, I noticed that you mentioned that the broadcast is happening on April 7. While it is true that it airs at ~2 am on Sunday mornings, it is still considered part of the Saturday night broadcast so you should follow what the broadcaster says. This is how it works for TV shows no matter the originating nation, as I am almost 99% sure that List of The Venture Bros. episodes follows this concept, as it airs on Sunday nights, but technically on Monday.—Ryulong (琉竜) 16:18, 29 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

However, we should still apply WP:MOS. I think an RFC would be a good option to decide whether or not the official broadcast date or the actual broadcast date should be used. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 22:43, 30 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, you responded. MOS:DATE does not govern when a broadcast day ends. It simply says that if you are going to write "12:10 am" in a 24-hour system, it should be parsed as "00:10" instead of "24:10". There is nothing in the manual of style that states that if a show is said to have premiered on "Saturday April 6, 2013, at 25:58" (a date all reliable sources point to), that the English Wikipedia should report this as "Sunday April 7, 2013, at 01:58/1:58 am".—Ryulong (琉竜) 18:42, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
But it's still implied. And besides, such a practice would confuse readers who are unaware of how Japan's broadcast schedule works (even I was confused at first). If you don't mind, I'm going to start an RfC on this very matter so that proper consensus will be reached. Thank you for the heads up. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 18:48, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It's not implied at all. And this doesn't confuse readers who watch crap on Adult Swim. They have stuff that premieres after midnight but they still say it's part of the Saturday or Sunday programming block rather than the Sunday or Monday block.—Ryulong (琉竜) 19:03, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. -SFK2 (talk) 10:57, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I can't agree that 608 words are necessary to summarize a 24 minute episode, and even episode 4's 355 are too many. If you disagree, would you please state your reasoning on the talk page? I agree that the template I placed is inaccurate though. ー HigherFive | 16:26, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What I meant to say was, the summary should be concise: not too long, not too short. Also, the length of the summaries is actually more or less the average length of summaries in the episode lists I've seen. Perhaps a better idea would be simply to spin it off into its own article. Also, the template you added is partially incorrect, as some of the episodes had episode summaries that were so brief they didn't even properly explain the essentials of the episode. Sorry to bother you but I am writing about the article KickRaux which you said should be deleted. I understand you may have not heard of him but there is a lot of producers and artist and other things on Wikipedia I have never heard of. If you could please give me some advice on what can help it stay and also 24 hours to fix the problems. I have things which I can add and may be able to add whatever your looking for to not delete it. Thanks for the message! Anyway, for a person to have a Wikipedia article, he or she needs to pass WP:GNG; meaning, he or she needs to have been covered by significant reliable coverage (simply put, he or she needs to be the subject of an independent, non-blog (Blogspot or Wordpress), non-fansite or non-forum article (such as news articles or professional blogs). And Wikipedia is not the place for publicizing things (or in this case, people) who haven't been heard of yet. Sure Wikipedia is full of obscure topics, but those articles have been covered independently, or have a claim to notability (see WP:NOTABILITY for a fuller explanation). Unfortunately, KickRaux has not been covered in reliable sources, at least not yet. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:08, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewing Openowledge article

Hello! I've received a notification that you've reviewed an article that I've recently wrote, Openowledge. I was wondering whether the article passed the review and whether if the 'unreviewed' tag could be removed. Thanks you! Kkj11210 (talk) 11:50, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It means that the article has been checked by a new-page patroller (a Wikipedian who checks every newly-created article and sees if they pass Wikipedia's guidelines), and yes, the "unreviewed" tag can be removed. Sorry for the late reply, been fairly busy with stuff lately. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 08:36, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I'll remove the tags then. Kkj11210 (talk) 11:12, 28 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Tenth anniversary of the Tagalog Wikipedia

I trust that since you've been interested in the Tagalog Wikipedia's future development, you will be coming this Sunday? :) --Sky Harbor (talk) 05:51, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid I can't, since I need to go back to my home province for the weekend (I am from Batangas but I am currently studying at the University of the Philippines Manila and living with relatives in Quezon City), but thanks for the invite. Maybe if I have time I can go to a future Philippine Wikimedia event. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:23, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I should note that it's on a Sunday evening, so technically by then you should be on your way back to Manila in time for classes, no? (That is, unless UPM doesn't have classes as well on Mondays, like UPD.) --Sky Harbor (talk) 12:59,

About GACKT

Hello ! Thank you for your message about my last edit. I indeed wanted to change what some users may have "revealed" as unnecessary private details, possibly harmful for GACKT. The truth is, I am a huge fan of him, and as he is starting an international career, I thought various rumors and fantasies about him should not have been displayed on Wikipedia... I wanted to enlighten his talent instead.

I am sorry, I actually explained the reason for my edit in the edit summary... maybe I did it wrong, and it got deleted ? Do you think you can have my edit back, or do I have to write it again ?

Thank you for having taken time to read my edit and told me your view.

Regarding Attack on Titan

I am the reviewer who accepted the removal of the word "tragic" from the article Attack on Titan. I did think the anonymous user referred to a spoiler in a plot, but then decided they meant that the conclusion of "The Mist" was unnecessarily being described as "tragic". Thinking it might be a violation of WP:NPOV, I accepted the change. What do you think? Smtchahal (talk) 11:07, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm fine with reverting the change, but just remind the user that removing spoilers for being spoilers is a big no-no per WP:SPOILER. If he/she didn't mention the word "spoiler" at his/her edit summary I wouldn't have reverted the edit. Sorry, I'm just a bit trigger-happy at reverting any attempts to remove spoilers from Wikipedia articles. Happy editing. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:33, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Blanking attack pages

Hi,

Thanks for nominating Joesph benton for deletion as an attack page. Just a reminder, when you do tag these types of pages, can you please blank the text of the article as well? This prevents any potentially libellous material from remaining on Wikipedia for any longer than necessary. Thank you! Stephen! Coming... 11:57, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message. However, Twinkle already automatically blanked the page for me, so there's really no need to remind me. Happy editing! Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:03, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Just went and checked the deleted page, as it sounded like there might have been an error in Twinkle as the text wasn't deleted when I looked... turns out not to be the case. The fault lies with the daft administrator (aka "me") who failed to notice that the original editor added stuff after you blanked it. My bad! Stephen! Coming... 09:16, 29 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) Wikipedia isn't a place where you post papers and the like. Such articles probably belong in a different website. Even if it was an attempt to write an article, it mainly appears to be about a subject which already has a Wikipedia article. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:56, 29 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

OPOS

My 1st post was deleted and i'm a very new user to Wiki and trying to understand what went wrong. I hope you get this message.

One Pot One Shot (OPOS) is a cooking technique widely spreading and used in India and my page was not promoting anything. It is purely explaining that form of cooking and sharing that information online. Since it is from India, this form of cooking is covered in newspapers, articles, TV but unfortunately, it didn't reach much online. To get online as a useful resources for others to refer to, Im bringing the information from all those sources in to WIKI to share with everyone and in English language. I don't think I did anything against WIKI guidelines. Please help me on it and let me know the approach i should take in order to make this information available in Wiki. I truly appreciate your help. Thanks a lot!

Hello. I understand that Wikipedia's policies, particularly its notability guidelines can be quite confusing for newcomers, but let me put it this way. Has OPOS been discussed in a source that is reliable? As in, something you can trust? If it hasn't, then unfortunately it can't stay on Wikipedia. You can post about in on other sites such as Blogspot though, but Wikipedia is not the place for these things. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:25, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sailor Moon RfC

Hi, Narutolovehinata5. Since the RfC has only four editors supporting the motion, should we get other users involved in this matter? I attempted to inform WP:VG and WP:COUNCIL about this but there is no response so far. Thoughts? Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 14:13, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Well, there are two options. One, you could add the discussion to centralized discussion (although the discussion might be too niche to need it), and second, all of the most active members of both WikiProject Anime and manga, as well as WikiProject Japan could be contacted. What do you think? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 02:55, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Very good options, but I can decide on that a bit later. I'll go ahead and see what can be done. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 02:57, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Also, on an irrelevant note, can you please take a look at this? I'm planning to get the Sailor Moon article up to GA or FA status soon. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 00:33, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there! First of all, I don't think it's a good idea for you to have been the one to close it, since you participated in the discussion. The discussion should have been put up for a request for closure instead. (never mind this, I read the requests for closure page and it mentions that even involved editors can close a discussion) Second, you should notify all active members of WikiProject Anime and manga about the change, and leave a message on WikiProject Japan as well. Third, make sure you leave a notice at Wikipedia:WikiProject Sailor Moon and its talk page about the closure. Finally, I can't really help out with you, as I'm not experienced with WikiProject work. At most, you can ask help from some of the other members, such as Lucia Black, DragonZero or Juhachi. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 02:37, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Entry of Dr. Subrarta Dasgupta

Hi,

I have started a wiki entry on Dr. Subrata Dasgupta. The entry shows the following: The topic of this article may not meet Wikipedia's notability guideline for academics. Please help to establish notability by adding reliable, secondary sources about the topic. If notability cannot be established, the article is likely to be merged, redirected, or deleted. Find sources: "Subrata Dasgupta" – books · scholar · JSTOR · free images (May 2014)

This is a misplaced articles for creation submission. If it is not yet ready for article space, please consider moving it to project space rather than marking it for deletion. Note: If you are not an administrator please tag the redirect left behind after the move for deletion.

I am not sure how to fix these issues. I am writing to you as you have reviewed the entry. Any help is appreciated.

Spoiler

Yes my friend except that the spoiler was not in the plot section it was in the introduction ! And what i deleted was already present in the plot section !, thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mbaban (talkcontribs) 08:37, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Even so, content should not be deleted on the sole grounds that it is a spoiler. And we have a number of articles which do have plot details on the lead. There's nothing to spoil in DBZ anyway, it's just episode after episode for a battle, sometimes taking a whole episode for one attack. This isn't The Mousetrap or Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 08:56, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What you are doing is clearly a kind of pathetic power play , you are not being logical , the information I deleted was already there in the plot section don't you get that ?? , maybe you can check before rushing into showing off and deleting people's edit before even what is it based upon , and clearly you are not fan of a manga which meant a lot for a huge amount if people , I myself when I first opened the article , I didn't intend to to read the plot section because I didn't want to have a spoiler , to my surprise they put information regarding the ending on the introduction ! I dare you to see such a thing in well written specially American shows articles , but apparently you have deep problems with your real life that you try to have this weird kind of control here , be logical .. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mbaban (talkcontribs) 09:08, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Mami Kawada

Hey, I just took a look at Mami Kawada. I think you've done a good job so far. Here are some suggestions I have if you are planning on eventually taking it to GAN:

  • If you can find any sources discussing aspects of her music styles, work ethic, influence, reception, personal life, etc. it can be incorporated as additional sections in the article. Right now it mostly just talks about her career: dates when she released albums, what animes she has been involved with, etc. Although I understand that this singer is obviously not as well known as someone like, say Rihanna, so sourcing for some of these topics may be sparse or nonexistent.
  • The prose of the article will need to be improved, it's a somewhat choppy reading right now, so work on combining and the transitions of sentences. Also several of the shorter one-line paragraphs could be merged.
  • Eventually the lead will need to be expanded, although I'd recommend not worrying about that until most of the rest of the article is nearing completion.

Overall good work though! Let me know if you have any questions about my points above.

As an addendum, in regards to a "Themes" section for the Madoka Magica article, I agree that I think it's unnecessary at this point. Although there are a few other articles that do incorporate such a section, such as Cowboy Bebop, I think discussion about Madoka Magica's themes are already well integrated into the Production section, and am not sure if there is enough content to justify extracting it out and giving it a whole new section. Artichoker[talk] 01:29, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the comments. Here are my thoughts:
  • Unfortunately, you are correct in your observation: given that she's relatively obscure even in her home country of Japan (while her singles and albums do relatively well on the charts, her sales are at best good for anime releases but poor when compared to mainstream releases), sources for her, even in Japanese, will be hard to come by. Information on her personal life is limited (for example, like several lesser known anime celebrities, we don't even know her age! But it is known that she has a younger brother, which could be sourced through her blog posts, though adding that might be considered trivia), and what can be normally found of her personal life is mostly information such as her favorite food, colors, etc., which would be considered unencyclopedic.
  • The prose, I agree, is what needs most work in the article. Right now, the article is nothing more than a discography in prose. The bulk of the article content was originally written by a user who's since retired (although since he is also an I've Sound fan I was able to contact him and now we regularly talk to each other on Facebook), although pretty much all of the post-2012 content was written by me. When I started work on the article, it was almost entirely unreferenced and needed copyediting, both of which I have been doing for more than two years. I had been thinking that perhaps I could move all the information about single/album sales and charting information into a "Reception" article or the likes of one, along with critical reception of at least some of her musical work (which would be hard to come by, first because reliable music reviews in Japan are rare, and second, as I mentioned earlier, because she's a non-mainstream artist whose work is given relatively little notice by sources). Interviews of her do exist (some of which were posted on the article's talk page), which are mostly to do with her individual releases, though these could prove useful in a "Style and influences" section, which will probably be easier to write than a "Personal life" section.
  • I'm using several articles as a basis for the structure and prose of the article, such as Aki Toyosaki and Mamoru Miyano, and to a lesser extent, ClariS, Supercell (band) and LiSA (Japanese musician, born 1987), and even the articles of her friends Kotoko (singer) and Maon Kurosaki. ClariS onwards are what I used for aiming for B-class, while the articles for Toyosaki and Miyano are what I am using for aiming for GA-class. In the case of Toyosaki and Miyano's articles (both of which are GAs), they too do not have much information on their personal life, but they discuss their careers in detail, and the reception and awards they received for their work, something I plan to emulate for Kawada's article, since I believe that this is the only way her article could pass GA given that there's so little information on her personal life.
I appreciate the feedback, and when I have the time, I'll try to apply some of these comments to the article, particularly about her musical style and influences. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 02:57, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That's a good idea. Definitely emulate the styles of those GA articles. And take full advantage of any and all reliable interviews with her. There is usually a ton of great info to be harvested from types of sources such as those. Artichoker[talk] 03:10, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Artichoker: Just an update, albeit 3 months late. I finally fixed some of the transitions between paragraphs and merged the shorter ones. Sadly, I'm losing hope on finding sources for the two: critical reception for her music, and sourced information on her personal life. Assuming I'd write a second on her personal life, given the sources available, it would look something like this:

Kawada has a younger brother.

Yes, it would be that short. Even her interviews don't give much information on her style, influences, etc., and if anything, the interviews would be better off being used as sources for the articles on her various singles (which, with the exception of Joint (song) are all stubs). It seems that her obscurity and fading popularity are making me face an uphill battle to break the status quo. How can I improve the article now? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:40, 6 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article is looking better. If sourcing doesn't exist for any of her personal life, then that's okay; the article doesn't necessarily need it if nothing exists. However, not having any information regarding critical reception/commentary for her music does kind of hurt. Are you sure there are no sources with involving reviews of her albums, singles, etc.? Artichoker[talk] 03:43, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Artichoker: None I'm afraid, even in Japanese. I already searched a long time ago, and reliable reviews for her (or for any primarily anime singer for that matter) simply don't seem to exist. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 10:09, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If those sources don't exist, and you've scraped everything else, then the article would be considered comprehensive. There's nothing wrong with a small article, if that's all that existing sources allow. If you truly believe the article to be comprehensive, give it a copyedit and take it to GA. Cheers! Artichoker[talk] 17:14, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Artichoker: Is it alright if I send it to another peer review before requesting a copyedit? Because, if ever, I could need some help with the writing of some of the prose, particularly the lede. That way, any kinks can be sorted out, and eventually, I could take it to GAN. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 14:37, 8 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely. You know what state the article is in better than I do. Oftentimes prudence is the best choice. Artichoker[talk] 23:05, 8 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Artichoker: The article's peer review ended recently, and I made a few more copyedits. I hope the article looks better now; it took me 30 minutes or so to revise the grammar. I also did a partial rewrite of the lede section. I feel like putting it up for another peer review soon, but it might not pass GA given that (as mentioned above), information about style and influences cannot be found. Also, I don't think she has won any awards either (she doesn't even have a gold record). Given the backlog at GAN, even if I did nominate it, it could take some time before it gets reviewed. It's not like I could ask an uninvolved editor who specializes in music to take a look, right? What do you think? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 10:06, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

At this point, I don't think yet another peer review is going to be as valuable, as I wonder what else it could add to the table that the last one didn't. As for seeking a specializing editor, I think that's a good idea. I'm not familiar with any music editors, so I unfortunately don't have any suggestions for you, but I think this is a good path to take to get some more insight into how close the article is to GA status. Artichoker[talk] 22:55, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Artichoker: By the way: how's the new lede? Does it feel better than the old one? It's my first attempt at writing a lede that's a basic summary of article content. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:53, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's good and an improvement! Artichoker[talk] 02:19, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Aki Toyosaki singles charts

I put in the Oricon charts for Aki Toyosaki's singles discography, although I haven't looked for Japan Hot 100 or RIAJ information. I looked up her first single but it ranked 15th on the Billboard Japan Hot Singles but not on the Japan Hot 100, so could you help look through the other major singles and see if any of them charted? If there isn't information we can remove those columns from the table, but almost all her singles are clearly in that Oricon rank 11-20 category, which is good for a seiyuu singer. Also if you know of any more awards for singing that would help out too. -AngusWOOF (talk) 16:43, 28 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Flo'Ball page

why to delete the page? there is an italian page, which was admitted and it's part of the list of teamsports.

the sport is trying to gain new followers, for sure, but still it was registrated in italy, so it IS a sport.

there are many pages with less informations about other sports, this page has all the complete informations.

the second link in the notes is not promotional: is an italian sports news site, talking about the events conducted by AIFB in the past: it's not promotion, at least is social news. (and it was a goal reached by the initiative).

Unfortunately, the second link is not what we would call "significant" coverage (see WP:SIGCOV). Also, I don't know Italian, but from a glance at the page, there also seemed to have been a promotional tone to the text of the link. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:22, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Narutolovehinata5. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Demonization of Vladimir Putin, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: WP:CSD#G10 is for pages that "Pages that disparage, threaten, intimidate or harass their subject or some other entity, and serve no other purpose". Erm, regarding your edit:

As per MOS:WORKS#Ordering, lists of works should be ordered chronologically, not alphabetically. Otherwise I see no problem with your formatting. Also, I wouldn't worry about removing the year subheadings, (you can if you want i guess, unless someone advises you not to...). If the year is there, it's a lot of extra effort trying to change such a common format that's not explicitly "wrong".

Also, as a side note, usually when you order titles alphabetically, "The" is ignored, so that for example "The Garden of Words" would be listed with the "G" titles not the "T" titles. I'm not sure if that's in the Mos though. Thanks,—Msmarmalade (talk) 14:47, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oh okay. Just make the necessary fixes. You should have told me earlier though, it took me like three hours to make that edit, half of which involved rearranging the roles! I could have saved more time if I had known. Happy editing. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 14:54, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. The biography section could use some expansion, though. I'll try to do the same to Houko Kuwashima's article soon. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 16:05, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Narutolovehinata5. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular.

The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when hallmarks of copyvios in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.

If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied from the draft, rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the Wayback Machine is very useful for sussing that out.)

If you do find a copyright violation, please do not decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using {{db-g12|url=URL of source}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with {{subst:copyvio|url=URL of source}}.

Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.

I hope this message finds you well and thanks again you for your efforts in this area. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:20, 18 November 2014 (UTC).[reply]

Possible sockfarm

Good grief. I started trying to do some cleanup around the article for Haunted Party and it looks like there's a possible sock farm. The more I look, the more I see more and more SPAs that were opened just to try to re-create the article, edit it, or so on. I think I've tagged all of them and plopped them in Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of PeterJohnston12345, but I'm unsure whether or not to block the ones that haven't edited since November. What's your thought on this? I'm trying to avoid doing blocks for the time being, but the few blocks I've made just now (for the socks/meats that edited very recently) are ones that couldn't be avoided. They're not quite stale just yet but they haven't really edited recently. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:10, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Ugh... I just fell so deep into the rabbit hole that I think I broke my foot. It looks like these are all socks of User:Aron&April654321. I was looking to see if I could find more potential socks (via User:Fairytale65's edits) and found a link to User:Jackgriffo5, who edited Anthony Ilott and Joe Gaminara. An additional look showed that Fairytale65 *also* edited alongside User:PoolerBear, who is a confirmed sock of Aron&April654321. A look at the edits shows that Haunted Party is a re-titled Scary House, which was one of the articles that these socks have been trying to add. (sighs) I really don't want to open up a new SPI to look for sweepers. I'm going to tag Ponyo and Mike V since they dealt with the last SPI for these guys. I'm going to re-tag the accounts as socks of Aron&April654321 since there's more than enough evidence now to show that it's all part of that group, but I don't know if it'd be worth sweeping for sleepers or not. I'm also going to block all of the accounts since there's enough evidence to warrant blocks all around. (sighs again) Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:23, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • It looks like it got even more messy. I found evidence that this is linked to another sockfarm that predates the Aron&April stuff. Yeeks. Long story short, it looks like this guy Anthony Ferando is continually trying to add various hoax articles to Wikipedia and the tell is that he's always listed in the cast somewhere. Apparently the Scary House and Haunted Party articles were originally a hoax article for Scary Movie 6 where he listed himself as the main actor. From there it just sort of spiraled into various different things, so I guess we'll all have to try to keep an eye out for any articles that list him as an actor and have a similar writing style- odds are that they're hoaxes. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:17, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't matter anymore right now since the article's been deleted and salted. Good job. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 06:42, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Westanna (talk) 15:25, 12 January 2015 (UTC)Westanna[reply]

I think you have a pretty good chance of getting this article up to GA in its current state. The thing about the current WP:GAN process is that if you nominate it now, it probably won't be reviewed for another 6 months or more, so if you want to get the article up to GA this year, you should try to nominate it soon. I plan on doing the same to ClariS in the next month or so once I actually get around to writing a musical style and influences section (which I suspect will be shorter than the one you wrote for Kawada, but oh well ).-- 02:51, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I see. But I don't feel like nominating it for GAN any time soon. I feel that it's not yet complete. Not when there's still not enough information regarding her personal life that can be used. I'll probably wait for some major event in her career before doing so (perhaps once she announces her next album or if he holds a major concert?). Also, I feel like doing a musical style/influences section for LiSA as well (given that she's my second favorite artist), though I guess in her case it will be much easier to find sources given that she's twice or thrice as popular as Kawada. What do you think?
Also, a side-note: do you believe that ClariS (either the original one or the current one with Karen) will ever reveal their identities in the long run, or will they remain a Japanese version of Daft Punk? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 05:34, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, well whenever you want to nominate Mami Kawada is fine; she's one of my all-time favorite artists, so I'd love to see her article at GA someday. I think a musical style/influences section for LiSA would be great if you can find the sources. It was hard enough finding enough when I wrote Supercell (band)#Musical style and influences, and ClariS' is probably gonna be half that length if I'm lucky. I just haven't found very many sources which discuss their music in detail. ClariS is about to perform at the Budokan in a few days, and I doubt it'll be behind a curtain like before, so it's possible they're about to at least reveal what they look like. And since they're about to graduate high school, I don't think there will be any more reason to keep their identities secret, unless they want to retain that as their "gimmick". Alice, however, will most likely always remain a mystery, unless she comes back as a soloist in a few years (which I'm dying to happen, since I loved her voice more than Clara/Karen, who sound exactly the same to me).-- 06:46, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I see. Thanks for the comments. I really do love Mami and I wish she was more popular. To this day, the fact that Break a spell flopped horribly, both in sales and at the charts, still gives me a sad feeling in my heart. I actually visited Japan in July of last year, and despite Break a spell only being released in February of that year, not a single music store I went to (I went to about five) had it, and out of the five, only a single one (Gamers Akihabara) had her CDs at all (even Animate, which according to the book A Geek in Japan is the largest anime store in Akiba, had none of her CDs in stock, excluding the I've compilation album Outflow which I guess doesn't count). Also, it seems that virtually every Japanese I asked outside of the stores in Akiba didn't even know her. Shame.
Oh, and as for LiSA, I think I've seen that she has tons of interviews. LisAni and the like should have a few. You should also be easily be able to find sources as well. I'm also going to ask Prosperosity if he knows anything that can be used. What do you think?
And by the way, which one was Alice again? I've liked ClariS for almost 4 years and yet I still don't know which was which? Was Alice the one with the deeper voice, or the one with the softer voice? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 07:51, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That's a shame to hear that about Kawada. I wouldn't have thought she was that unknown after being in the industry for so many years. As for interivews and the like that I could scrape for ClariS, I did manage to find a few, all of which I've already used in the main article and a few of the albums/singles articles, but among them, there wasn't much that could go in a musical style/influences section that I could find. LisAni may be a good source, but most of its content is offline and thus not available to read. Alice sings at a slightly deeper octave than Clara, who has a more 'softer' voice as you put it. You can see who sings what for some songs at this blog. I feel that Alice had a more unique voice than Clara, and considering that I can't tell Clara and Karen apart, it makes listening to the new ClariS slightly less interesting.-- 08:55, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lisa articles

Translating 27 articles on a musician I'm not super familiar with would be a full-time job! I'm not sure if I have time for that, sorry! According to this, she planned to go to Animax Carnival Philippines 2013, which got cancelled due to a typhoon. She probably didn't even get the chance to land in the country then, I suppose! --Prosperosity (talk) 00:13, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You don't actually have to translate all 27 articles though. Just sections of said articles that could potentially be useful. If what's needed is only a single paragraph in an entire article, for example, then that's all that needs to be translated. Also, don't remind me about that event. I was going to go to it, but then everything went horribly wrong. Well, at least we got King Gustav and Pope Francis in exchange. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 03:02, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined

I declined your speedy deletion nomination of Goel TMT because the criterion does not applies. A7 does not applies to articles with assertion of notability. The appropriate deletion criterion is G12 because almost all the contents of the article was copied from its own website. Wikigyt@lk to M£ 14:07, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Wikicology: Does G11 also apply? In many of these cases, the "copyright violations" are actually posted by users who appear to be affiliated with relevant companies, and apparently these users create such articles as a form of promotion. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 16:05, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you on WP:COI but in the case of obvious COI, the editor involved may be advised on how to edit such article. I often point them to this guideline. However, G11 does not applies to articles with Minor promotional wording. I normally try as much as possible to remove the promotional contents to save such articles if its actually a notable one. In the case of the deleted page, Goel TMT, its actually not eligible for G11. The promotional wording may be removed if the organization. is actually notable. Cheers! This was not a hoax

Hello! I am wondering why you tagged the article Lamont Johnson (jazz bassist) as G3 - meaning that you thought it was a blatant and obvious hoax. A quick Google search would have revealed that he is real. I have removed the tag and I am in the process of expanding the article, but I am curious what made you think it was a hoax? --MelanieN (talk) 17:16, 10 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

MelanieN, You need not be curious. Although the page is certainly not a hoax and I'm sure they would have realized their mistake. Wikigyt@lk to M£ 21:06, 10 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Wikicology: @MelanieN: I did a search for the person (including his DOB) and a search resulted in absolutely no results whatsoever, which lead me to believe that it was a hoax. If it was a mistake then I am sorry for it. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 22:16, 10 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No reason to worry. this one and several other sources verified and confirmed the existence of the article's subject, therefore not eligible for G3. The criterion (G3) does not applies to article with at least one source, even if the source is not reliable as long as it establish the existence of the subject of the article. Regards! I believe that you though that my article,Crafter (character),was about a web series character, you misunderstood it the article is about a character from a popular book,I even have proof in the second paragraph of this page:http://www.skyponypress.com/book/?GCOI=61608108388690& . Please don't delete my article the book series is very popular so I believe it's worthy of an individual page.--Minedigger (talk) 13:16, 13 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

From the looks of things, the character is from a Minecraft online series, which would qualify it for speedy deletion as web content. If I am mistaken, I don't think he's still notable enough for a separate article: the book doesn't even have its own article. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:35, 13 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mamiko Noto article

I've started to convert Mamiko Noto's filmography to a table format. I've tagged all entries there as citation needed but the tags for each one can be removed if they appear on her Mausu profile or replaced with Doi's database. Will get to that later. @AngusWOOF: Well, as long as that ugly BLP sources tag at the top is removed. There's still a ton of work to do, and Noto's article is far from the only article on a well-known voice actress (or actor) whose article has major sourcing problems. You (and in fact the whole WikiProject) should work on them too, it's probably one of the biggest works that the WikiProject needs to do. This should probably include either looking for free images for people, or requesting for them (like, say, asking the agencies politely if they could donate images). I've gone through the discography portion of the article and made some heavy edits, mostly around the drama CDs, singles and albums. The albums and singles I've left only the ones that made a dent in Oricon and have her as the featured artist rather than compilations where she is only on one track (1 singles collection album, 1 sort-of album character CD, and 9 singles character CD). The drama CDs I only picked the five in Doi's database. There are a bunch of other CDs in Doi's second list that could be added but didn't see much notability for them – a lot are just supplementary material for anime titles for her most popular characters like Nogizaka or the Strawberry 100%/Marshmallow series, Tomoe / Queen's Blade, etc., so I left them out. I've checked most entries against her profile, so next is to hit some of her major anime and video game works and removing those individual entries. Should we remove the blanket tag or wait until the individual tags get down to a small fraction? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 04:36, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@AngusWOOF: Perhaps, as a compromise, until most of the cn tags are reduced, the BLP sources tag can be demoted to a BLP sources section tag and be moved to the Filmography section. Still better than having the said article at the top. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 04:59, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I've moved it to the More footnotes tag. Walking through ANN's news archive to fill in many of her roles now. Also upgraded her to Mid importance; she's in a ton of anime shows as leading characters and was nominated for Seiyu Awards in its first edition. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 15:33, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
