Kundali Bhagya[1] is an Indian drama television series which broadcasts on Zee TV. It was premiered on 12 July 2017 and airs Monday to Friday at 09:30 PM (IST). Shraddha Arya, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Manit Joura and Anjum Fakih respectively portrays the lead roles in the series. Kundali Bhagya is initially a spin off of Zee TV popular series Kumkum Bhagya. The show is doing really well and it attained highest TRP ratings securing first position. The series Kundali Bhagya mainly focused on the tale of Luthra brothers Rishabh and Karan (Manit Joura & Dheeraj Dhoopar) and Arora sisters Preeta and Srishti (Shraddha Arya & Anjum Fakih), respectively.[2][3]
Plot
The show narrates the story of two sisters of Pragya (Female Protagonist of Kumkum Bhagya), Preeta and Srishti and their attempt to reunite with their mother Sarla and their dynamics with the Luthra family. The elder son Rishabh Luthra’s celebrity management firm manages Abhi’s music career. His younger brother Karan Luthra has an effortless swag that makes him an unabashed Casanova before the star cricketer he is. The journey of sparks that will fly as the paths of Preeta and Shristi intersect with Karan and Rishabh's, when Preeta who is a physiotherapist gets hired to work for the Luthra family. Shristi has a job in helping decorate and plan Rhishabh's engagement and wedding. Preeta and Karan hate each other at first but as the show progresses, they slowly start to feel attracted to each other. Rishabh on the other hand has one sided love for Preeta, (Preeta only thinks of him as a friend), however he is later engaged to Sherlyn who has intense hatred for Preeta and tries to ruin her [3]because she thinks preeta and rishab are in a relationship. The only reason Rishabh agreed to be married to Sherlyn in the first place is because when his mother first showed Rhishabh who he was getting married to she said that the girl next to his grandma is the one they chose but both Preeta and Sherlyn were standing next to her, so Rhishabh thought that he was getting married to Preeta and agreed. After realizing his mistake there was no way to take it back, because he would have to admit his feelings about Preeta and make his mother upset. Meanwhile, Shristi and Sameer(cousin of Luthra brothers) are shown to start falling for each other. On the other hand, Sherlyn, who is still in a relationship with her ex-husband Prithvi, only wants to marry Rishab with bad intentions and for his wealth. Preeta and Karan work together and slowly get closer when they try to uncover and prove that Sherlyn is cheating on Rishabh and that she is marrying him for his wealth. To stop Preeta from coming between her and Rishabh, Sherlyn asks Prithvi to get into an arrange marriage with Preeta and then destroy her.

Development
Talking about introducing a spinoff of a popular show on a primetime Deepak Rajadhyaksha, Deputy Business Head of Zee TV, says, "Zee TV has always strived to experiment with formats and bring its viewers unique and fresh content. After the success of Kasamh Se, Pavitra Rishta, Jodha Akhbar, Kumkum Bhagya and Brahmarakshas, we are extremely happy to associate yet again with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms to bring an innovative narrative Kundali Bhagya. It introduces a new set of characters in an all-new world and will replace our hit primetime show, Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, which was not only a strong differentiator but met with an overwhelming response and has had a glorious run of two years."[4]
