Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited What You Gave Me (song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page That's the Way Love Is (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver).

Thanks for uploading File:Crimson and Clover - Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 05:02, 22 December 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Dance With Me - Orleans.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:27, 30 December 2018 (UTC)

I have reverted your actions with respect to This Girl's in Love with You. WP:RM requires discussion and consensus to disambiguate a title with incoming links. Also, please review WP:TWODABS. A disambiguation page is merely a navigational tool, and is entirely unnecessary if navigation can be accomplished with a hatnote. bd2412 T 14:46, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

Discretionary sanctions alert for articles and content relating to post-1932 American politics - you've had one before but they need to be renewed every year

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have recently shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited David Pack, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Michael McDonald (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Information icon Please refrain from uploading disruptive images with no encyclopedic value, such as A Taste of Honey (album). It is considered vandalism. As explained here, your image has no relevance to the infobox; it is not an image of any album cover but of a 45 rpm record titled "Boogie Oogie Oogie". Dan56 (talk) 03:07, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

Dan56 -- Good faith edits should never be considered vandalism. My history of contribs speaks for itself. I did, however, fail to notice that the image is a 45 (because of its small hole, usually a 33 RPM) and I apologize for that. - JGabbard (talk) 12:51, 20 March 2019 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Willow Weep for Me - Jan & Dean.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Discretionary sanctions

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

Tgeorgescu (talk) 01:09, 30 April 2019 (UTC)

April 2019

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Amygdalin. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. Alexbrn (talk) 04:53, 30 April 2019 (UTC)

Notice

This may not be news: Please note that Wikipedia is not a forum for propaganda, the promotion of pseudoscience and conspiracy theories or for proselytism. User:JGabbard#Perspectives/Protesting abuses! appears to indirectly attack fellow editors by implying dark motives. I would like to remind you of WP:MEDRS. We are expected to edit according to policies and guidelines and must understand that editing here is a privilege, not a right. Also relevant: WP:RIGHTGREATWRONGS, WP:POLEMIC, WP:AGF, WP:PSCI, WP:FREESPEECH, WP:NOTWEBHOST ... Since the rest of the page is more relevant to Wikipedia, instead of nominating it at WP:MfD I will take the liberty to boldly blank that section. Speedy deletion nomination of Tamko

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tamko, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Yogiile (talk) 06:00, 15 July 2019 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on File:Ring My Bell - Anita Ward.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. I have sent you a note about a page you started

Thanks for creating The Southern Sea.

User:Rosguill while reviewing this page as a part of our page curation process had the following comments:

I'm wondering if this might be better to point at South Sea. There appears to be very little use online of "The Southern Sea" as a name for the Gulf of Mexico, and there appears to be at least one animal that has "southern sea" in its name (the southern sea otter) and lives nowhere near the gulf.

To reply, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Rosguill}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ .

@Rosguill:Hi, thanks for your note. You may do as you wish with the link; I don't strongly object. But being originally from Gulfport, Mississippi, I do know of its historical and cultural use as an alternative term. I can tell you that along the coast it is almost as common as the term "The War of Northern Aggression" to refer to the US Civil War, but instead of redirecting there it redirects to Names of the American Civil War. Anecdotally, "The Southern Sea" was used as an alternative descriptor for the Gulf of Mexico, especially during and for some time after the Mexican-American War, and retains minor use even today. In popular culture, the most notable use of the term I know of is in Three Dog Night's song "Yellow Beach Umbrella," nicely covered by Bette Midler[1] and others. - JGabbard (talk) 20:08, 26 July 2019 (UTC)

Nomination of Tamko for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Tamko is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

Please don't change chart section formatting to suit yourself

Hi. Please don't change chart sections to combine charts and certifications like you did here. I created the article for "Sucker", and I don't see how in any way that benefits it. First of all, on most "modern" song articles (as in, on most articles from the 1990s and beyond), the section header "chart history" is not a thing—I know you've probably added it to thousands of song and album articles from the '80s and earlier, but it's really not used very widely outside of those. Charts and certifications are also rarely combined anymore, because most active chart editors stopped combining them years ago and some even went about actively separating them. That might be how you prefer to format chart sections on articles you created, but please stop doing it to articles you didn't create. If I notice you reformatting charts sections to how you prefer them on articles you did not create, I will revert you. If you edit war or disregard WP:BRD, I will report you to an administrator because you have reverted me indirectly for undoing you in the past, probably hoping I wouldn't notice, and it has been a pain. Your history of adding unreliable sources for old charts (using IP address websites and blogs for chart positions) and poor formatting choices (like putting a space between a reference and italic markup) honestly means you should be monitored more than you probably are. I do not wish to be pinged by you, because I know you will type out a paragraph defending yourself and having a go back at me for "condescending" to you or whatever, but I'm not having an argument with you. Last time I sent you a message you typed altogether too much and the argument was a waste of time. I'm just telling you what I will do if I see you reformat chart sections to suit your outdated personal preference—and before you try to level the same accusation of personal preference at me, separating charts and certifications was done long before I did it. Thanks. Ss112 22:16, 14 November 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Brighteon.com

Hello JGabbard,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Brighteon.com for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Edit warring and genre warring at Peg (song)

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to change genres without discussion or sources, as you did at Peg (song), you may be blocked from editing. isento (talk) 22:52, 18 November 2019 (UTC)

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Peg (song) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. isento (talk) 22:52, 18 November 2019 (UTC)

Ways to improve Hold Tight (Bread song)

Hello, JGabbard,

Thank you for creating Hold Tight (Bread song).

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

It would be good to add a source to support the billboard rankings, since they form part of the song's claim to notability. Please check the other tweaks I made, and note that there seems to be a problem with the image. Cheers

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Girth Summit}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Liz Crokin article

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:Liz Crokin a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Liz Crokin. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. -- Netoholic @ 19:48, 4 May 2020 (UTC)

Important Notice

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in pseudoscience and fringe science. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

A conspiracy theorist is not a whistleblower

Why on earth did you make this edit? -- Valjean (talk) 16:55, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

Because Dr. Mikovits has been at best mischaracterized/misunderstood, and at worst, smeared/defamed. It's unwarranted, and it's also a WP:BLP violation. - JGabbard (talk) 17:05, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
We write what RS say, and in this case they are right. "Whistleblower" is not based on RS, but is OR made out of whole cloth. -- Valjean (talk) 17:30, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

Topic banned

Per consensus of the community, you are banned from editing the topics of vaccination, conspiracy theorists, and COVID-19, all broadly construed. Generally this means you may not edit articles nor participate in discussions related to these topics on any Wikipedia page, subject to regular exceptions. This restriction has been logged at WP:EDR. Violations of this restriction may be enforced by more aggressive sanctions which may include your account being blocked from editing. If you are in doubt about whether a page is covered by this restriction you are encouraged to ask before editing. Thank you. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 20:55, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Freeman Hospital, Joplin Mo.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Freeman Hospital, Joplin Mo.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. King of ♥ 15:29, 12 May 2020 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Category:Joey Levine songs requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

Liz Read! Talk! 16:52, 18 May 2020 (UTC)

Weary Blues comment

You wrote "The song is notable in and of itself". Can you explain what you mean by that? Thanks.
Vmavanti (talk) 15:10, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

Sure, the song is notable because it is a "perennial jazz standard," the topic of academic works, and also because its view counts are higher than even for the artist himself. Plus, the cover by the McGuire Sisters became a chart hit. So if anything, I would redirect his article to the song before I would redirect the song to him. - JGabbard (talk) 15:30, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
Do you understand the differences between the everday use of the word "notable" and Wikipedia's rules about Notability?
Vmavanti (talk) 16:37, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Vmavanti, JGabbard said that the song is the topic of academic works - it sounds like they have a solid understanding of Wikipedia's rules about notability. GirthSummit (blether) 16:42, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
Don't butt in, Mrs. Kravitz. That's treating people like babies who can't speak for themselves. This doesn't involve you. There was no offense intended in the question. It's a simple question of fact. It deserves an answer. It's civil and proper to answer plain, direct questions.
Vmavanti (talk) 16:56, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
I don't see how anyone could be proud of calling themselves a "talk page stalker" or how this fits into any of the nicey-nice talk about collegiality and civility on Wikipedia. A stalker is a bad thing.
Vmavanti (talk) 16:58, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
Vmavanti, the (talk page stalker) template is widely used, and even comes with a link to a humorous essay explaining what it means - I think it fits in just fine with collegiality. I'm not sure what you mean by addressing me as Mrs. Kravitz (I don't know who that is, and since you haven't provided a link, I can't easily find out), but I'm happy to assume that it's friendly banter and not an insult. Please don't tell me not to butt in though - absent a request from JGabbard that I don't post here, I'll make whatever observations I wish. Best GirthSummit (blether) 17:49, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
You feel that butting in is productive and helpful? Have you done an internet search for Mrs. Kravitz yet?
Vmavanti (talk) 22:12, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
Vmavanti, no, I haven't. If you'd like to give me a link I'll look at it; alternatively, you could just explain what you mean? I don't accept that commenting on a talk page equates to butting in: I've never heard anyone say anything like that before here, it seems unconventional. GirthSummit (blether) 23:22, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
I don't try to be unconventional, but it does work out that way sometimes. I'm talking about prudence. How often do you peek into the neighbors' windows? I'm leaving aside whether you have some connection to JGabbard, so if there's some understanding that you speak for this person, then I guess it's okay. I've seen this phenomenon before, and I'm trying to understand it: Two people have a conversation, then someone shows up, interrupts the conversation, often trying to bring it to a halt. It's something like ventriloquism. Given that discussion is the foundation of Wikipedia, this strikes me as bad form, as does tut-tutting simple, direct questions. I know that we're free, within certain limits, to write posts on the Talk pages of others. But that's not what I'm talking about. I'm curious about whether certain comments and actions are prudent, helpful, wise.
Vmavanti (talk) 23:32, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
Regarding "I don't know who that is, and since you haven't provided a link, I can't easily find out". How long have you been using the internet? You really don't know how you would solve that conundrum?
Vmavanti (talk) 23:38, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
Girth Summit -- I consider Vmavanti's retorts to you to be highly rude, and I'm very sorry that they saw fit to lambaste you as they did. Talk pages, mine included, are open to all. Btw, Gladys Kravitz was a colorful character from the 1960s American TV show "Bewitched," and again, that reference was also inappropriate and their entire demeanor uncalled for, even apart from the fact that you are an admin. I am declining to respond any further to him/her. - JGabbard (talk) 03:42, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
Vmavanti, if by 'peeking into neighbor's windows' you mean 'looking at my watchlist, which includes the talk pages of numerous editors I've interacted with in the past', then the answer is 'daily'. You've seen this phenomenon before because it is entirely commonplace for other people to join (not interrupt) discussions on what are public talk pages - you surely can't have expected to be able to question JGabbard's competence in private? Notwithstanding your coyness about what you meant by the Kravitz remark (I'm still none the wiser - never having watched the show, I'm not sure what I'm meant to infer from the comparison), you say that you are in favour of simple, direct language, so I will be frank: I thought your question about whether they understood notability was quite silly, in light of what they had just said to you, so I pointed out that if what they said was true, there would be no question of notability. I did not comment on your follow-on question, asking whether they would be willing to add sourcing to the article to demonstrate the truth of what they said - that seemed reasonable, so I left it alone.
Now, I don't imagine that JGabbard wants the pair of us bickering on their talk page, and they have said that they no longer want to respond to you. If you want to continue to discuss talk page etiquette, you would be welcome to do so on my talk. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 09:47, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
If "Weary Blues" has been a "topic of academic works", would you be willing to add sourced material to the article using those works as sources?
Vmavanti (talk) 17:00, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
People on Wikipedia have a habit of taking literal questions figuratively. I discourage that kind of thing. I avoid it because encyclopedias are about facts, not opinions, agendas, or reading between the lines. I encourage people to read the lines rather than the blank spaces between them. Figurative language takes us into the clouds and is best left to poets. I'm an American with his feet happily on terra firma, though I do own a West Highland terrier who also loves terra firma—but he's an American Westie, right? I can see why people are afraid to talk to me. I'll take honest American plain speaking, insults even, over deception and concealment any day of the week. The phenomenon I referred to earlier? The ventriloquist act? I know what you're doing. I admit, it took me a while to figure out. I had to see it happen several times. Then calling me "coy", something that has never happened, was also a giveaway. I don't care much for this kind of thing. Very likely it will self-destruct.
Vmavanti (talk) 14:15, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
Vmavanti, I have literally no idea what you're talking about. Ventriloquist act? You know what I'm doing? Please feel free to explain, but again I'd urge you to do it on my talk page, rather than JGabbard's - your continuing to comment here after they have indicated that they don't intend to respond to you any further could be seen as intrusive. GirthSummit (blether) 14:33, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
This smokescreen has obscured the question I came here to ask JGabbard: If "Weary Blues" has been a "topic of academic works", would you be willing to add sourced material to the article using those works as sources? Now that's a simple, relevant question that ought to be easy to answer.
Vmavanti (talk) 14:15, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

User:Girth Summit, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

Any chance you could reformat the references? They are listed separately, but I think that ref 1 and 4 are the same book, as are ref 2 and 3. Publisher, page number and ISBN would all be helpful too to help readers verify the information. Thanks

To reply, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Girth Summit}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ .

@Girth Summit:I will look into reformatting at least one of them when I am able to revisit the project, if no one else has done so in the meantime. - JGabbard (talk) 17:55, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
JGabbard, thanks. With online sources I'd do it myself, but not having the books I can't add page numbers - better for someone who has access to the offline source to do it. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 18:10, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

Laura Branigan 'Dim All the Lights' US Dance Club Songs chart peak

Hi, just wondering where you sourced the US Dance chart peak for Laura Branigan's "Dim All the Lights" from, as it is not currently listed on her chart history on the Billboard site. I've noticed that the site is missing some peaks for some artists, but if you could provide another source, that would be appreciated.Nqr9 (talk) 04:09, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

I simply imported that entry from the notation which is already on the song article. - JGabbard (talk) 10:59, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
I don't know what you're referring to, sorry. The only reference cited for Billboard Dance Club Songs peaks on the page is the Billboard URL, which does not display the peak.Nqr9 (talk) 11:56, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

Hello. Please see this discussion. Bionic (talk) 17:54, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

Woodstock (song)

In your edit of 05:44, 24 December 2019 of Woodstock (song), you introduced the markup [[UK Singles Chart|UK]] <ref>{{cite web|url= |title=Official Charts Company |website=Officialcharts.com |date= |accessdate=2019-12-24}}</ref>. Two problems, one fix: {{cite web}} requires a valid URL. The accessdate parameter also requires a valid URL. I commented out the ref for now, but will you please edit the article and supply a valid URL in support of UK Singles Chart? —Anomalocaris (talk) 23:01, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

Sure, no problem! — JGabbard (talk) 01:56, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Category:Mel and Tim songs requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Kimberly Klacik, Candidate for Maryland's 7th Congressional district.jpeg

Thank you for uploading File:Kimberly Klacik, Candidate for Maryland's 7th Congressional district.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:34, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

A couple of discretionary sanctions notifications

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people.

Bishonen | tålk 11:46, 15 September 2020 (UTC).

This edit is a BLP violation, and your edit summary is especially offensive. Bishonen | tålk 11:46, 15 September 2020 (UTC).

It wasn't my edit; I only restored what had already been there previously. The edit summary reflects not my own opinion so much as prevailing attitudes in political circles. WP:BLP cannot be used as cover for politicians classified as RINOs by WP:RS. Be it offensive or not, Romney certainly has this type of coverage, so how can he be an exception? JGabbard (talk) 15:07, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
If you restore content that has been removed as belonging in an "enemies list", you take responsibility for it. It's not useful to tell me, here, on your own talkpage, that there are reliable sources. The trick is in providing those sources in the article. Bishonen | tålk 20:58, 15 September 2020 (UTC).

Hmm does this sanction still stand? I see other entries at Wikipedia:Arbitration enforcement log with one expired, but not exactly about this. In case it stands, this movie is somewhat under the topic (conspiracy theories propaganda) and thus risky territory... —PaleoNeonate00:49, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for the word of caution, Paleo. The topic is different and the pertinent phraseology was added just a few hours ago, but either way will take that under advisement. Its deletion discussion is looking anything but favorable right now anyway. - JGabbard (talk) 01:19, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

Archiving talk page

Hi, JGabbard, You have over 400 notices/discussions on your user talk page which makes it difficult to navigate. Please consider archiving or deleting old messages that are no longer relevant, say, those over a year old.Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 16:39, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi, Liz: After perusing the page detailing the archiving technique, I have no interest in navigating its complexity, nor am I feeling a compelling urge to do that in the first place. But thank you for the suggestion. I may choose to revisit it in the future. - JGabbard (talk) 23:37, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
JGabbard,I can set it up for you if you like. You just have to stick a template at the top of the page and a bot will do the heavy lifting. Ping me if you're interested, ignore me if not... GirthSummit (blether) 23:40, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
Sure Girth, if you're willing to do that, go for it! Thanks very much. - JGabbard (talk) 01:52, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
JGabbard, that ought to do it. Nothing for you to do now, a bot ought to swing by at some point and wave its wand. GirthSummit (blether) 05:53, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
Excellent, thanks again! I appreciate your help. - JGabbard (talk) 11:56, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
Threads that don't have a timestamp will not be automatically archived, so you may want to move/delete them at your discretion. It would be possible to find when they were created and add a timestamp, but considering that they're old and that some threads were also blanked in the past, it may be more trouble than worth. If you need to prevent the bot from archiving particular threads, they can also be marked with {{subst:DNAU}}. —PaleoNeonate03:52, 19 September 2020 (UTC)
Noted, thanks, Paleo. Is there a way to access and/or index the archive? - JGabbard (talk) 11:33, 19 September 2020 (UTC)
The {{Talk header}} template above should automatically display links to archive pages when they'll exist (and also allow to search them). —PaleoNeonate12:36, 19 September 2020 (UTC)
I noticed that because the |count= parameter was wrong the pages the bot created were not visible for the template to auto-index them. I have moved the pages and adjusted the parameter. Feel free to ping me if any trouble surfaces, —PaleoNeonate09:22, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
PaleoNeonate, thanks for fixing my mess - that count parameter was my bad. GirthSummit (blether) 09:44, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
@Girth Summit: the intention was good and to err human. Speaking of errors there's a redirect I inadvertently left at User talk:JGabbard/Archive 9 but then CSD tagged for technical deletion. —PaleoNeonate10:07, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
PaleoNeonate, gone, cheers GirthSummit (blether) 10:08, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

A bit late but

An IP editor recently undid these edits of yours to Vicarius Filii Dei (which is what brought them to my attention), where you cited this source to claim that the phrase "Vicarius Filii Dei" was consistently used for centuries in papal canons and other Catholic publications.

However, that source is a single primary source that fails to demonstrate a trend. It also does not discuss the use of the title "Vicar of the Son of God" in Catholic history. It does not even refer to the pope as the Vicar of the Son of God. It is not even about the pope, but Fernando Póo being appointed over Thailand (Rivi Muniensis) as a Vicar of the Apostles (vicariatu apostolico). It was not even signed by the pope. The closest it comes to the pope was that it was issued by some bishops on behalf of an office the pope is technically in charge of.

However, I see that you have since moved on to music edits, where I can only assume that you are editing far more in line with our policies and guidelines (such as WP:V and WP:NOR). May you have plenty of fun making good edits there. Ian.thomson (talk) 07:26, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
