Quadeucing.
Quadeucing is a serious hang signal going around near the local districts, and we've created this Wikipedia Article because it's an easy way to educate the students on what Quadeucing means, and how to Quadeuce. Quadeucing means a symbol of peace, and accepting them into their friendship. Please bring back our page, it really means a lot to us. We're just trying to help educate our classmates. Thank you for reading this.

Dear Sir,
As you can see the text you think is 'copyrighted' is NOT copyrighted at all. The text is actually free for distribution or other usage, such as WIKIPEDIA.
You should be more carefull before applying locks and other stuff on wiki-pages! Wiki is not for the single individual to decide which information is useful. This information is VERY useful for a lot of readers AND it is COPYRIGHTED FREE, again! Ask the writer, damned.
Sincerly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.130.14.82 (talk) 15:57, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
- For starters, I can see nowhere that verifies the content is free to use. Have you had it verified through WP:OTRS? Second, if even the content is free to use, doesn't mean we want it. Third, edit warring over the content wasn't helping anything. Had you simply bothered to write the relevant information in your own words, there wouldn't be a problem--Jac16888 Talk 16:27, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
Sire, I will prove to you that the content is NOT COPYRIGHTED, if I do so, can you please unlock the information.
Secondly: you write: 'doesn't mean we want it', who is we? Do you think you and a copple of friends are Wikipedia? Do you think the philosophy of wikipedia is 'information for everyone' or 'information for a few persons, who think to decide what is useful for lots of viewers? What a wrong attitude you are spreading about this... in my personal humble view... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.130.196.218 (talk) 16:30, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not interested, bear in mind that I have never seen that page before, never interacted with the person who kep removing the content and no interest with the subject, I am entirely neutral. Wikipedia is written by our editors, not copied from other sources. As I have already said, if you make an effort and instead of just being lazy and copying it, not very good attitude in my opinion, you actually write out the content you believe should be added on the talk page in your own words, using the page as a source, then it will probably be added--Jac16888 Talk 16:54, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

- o be included on the list they need to have an article, and before you rush off to write one, please note that to have an article they need to be notable, and that notability needs to be verified through the use of multiple reliable 3rd party references. In addition, the content you included on your userpage was blatantly promotional, Wikipedia is not a place for you to advertise--Jac16888 Talk 17:21, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
Hi there. I have reverted your prod again. A myspace page, while not reliable in the sense of notability, is still a reference that a person exist for the sake of referencing BLP. From my experience, using a person's homepage as a reference in such cases is common practice. If you think differently please nominate the article for a full deletion discussion. Cheers, De728631 (talk) 21:59, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- I'm sorry but I think you're completely wrong. A myspace is not reliable source, in any way whatsoever, it fits in with an "external link" at best. Please restore the blpprod, if the person is noteworthy then you should be able to find a real source--Jac16888 Talk 22:17, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- It seems we're disagreeing about this. A myspace site is a reliable primary source when it comes to musicians. Notability though is something completely else. The blp prod is solely about verifying any random fact from the article and thus the myspace profile fits that purpose. De728631 (talk) 19:04, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, De, but no, a MySpace site is not a reliable source for anything but the most trivial factoids (but not date of birth, for instance). I've replaced the PROD, with my apologies. Drmies (talk) 00:57, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

About article Author’s Certificate
We have known from User:Edcolins you deleted our article “Author’s Certificate” by the following reasons: G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement of http://encyclopedia2.thefreedictionary.com/Author%27s+Certificate".
1. Why you have not told us about it?
2. Great Soviet Encyclopaedia (GSE) let to use its articles with activated connection with GSE. Moreover, Copyright http://encyclopedia2.thefreedictionary.com/Author%27s+Certificate" belongs to GSE http://bse.sci-lib.com/article097541.html from 1926. Why the article “Author’s Certificate” was deleted?
3. Why was broken the deleted procedure?

About date of priority of Author’s Certificate
Russian Patent Law about Author’s Certificate was firstly made in Russia in 1919. GSE published the article in 1926 (see volume 1, GSE). From the times it republished a few times, one of them had been shoved by you.
- I'm not exactly an expert but I would imagine the copyright is valid from the most current edition, not the earliest. Either way, written by you is better than copied --Jac16888 Talk 23:08, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

About separation of our account
Separation of our account is impossible since we work on together. If we do duble (mirrow) of our account that it will Sockpuppet. Suspicion on the Wiki’s rule breaking with our account had place on russian Wiki. That case considered Michgrig.
Inventcreat (talk) 18:35, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

I see you're plunking in some of the english translations I've requested over at Ata Hussain Fani, and thanks for that, the article greatly appreciates it too! But I was hoping I could convince you not to do anymore until I've finished with the copyedit (should be today), as it's always possible that when I go back and review, I make a bunch more changes that may invalidate some of what I've done before (or in this case, some of what you've done too!). I wouldn't want you to do any more work than is necessary, and like I said, I'm almost done, you'll know for sure when that happens because I will remove the {{GOCEinuse}} template from the top of the page. Thanks for just a little bit more patience :) --Despayre (talk) 15:31, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
- Wasn't so much translation as just googling the word to be honest, I did the ones I could, and another look suggests I missed linking Sulook in the Spiritual history section and adding (shrine) after Khanquah in the bio section, so you could add those if you like, and I believe that just leaves "Khilafat" and "Khilafat-o-Ijazat", which I'm not sure about, Khilafat Movement doesn't seem relevant, maybe something to do with Caliphate or Khalifatul Masih--Jac16888 Talk 15:43, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, a little more research could help, I usually go through an article 2-3 times, and reduce problems down in layers, I *may* have gotten to some of the translating, but more likely I would (and probably still will end up with) sticking some kind of "expert in this field please look at this" type of banner at the top. But even just getting the Khanquah translated is a big help, it certainly helps my understanding of the sentences much more, and I see it means I have to do a little bit of prose touch-up on those too now, not to worry! Thanks again, and please feel free to add more useful stuff in too! (as soon as I take that banner off ;) ) If you just can't wait, and want to add stuff before you forget, another suggestion might be to just add a little note of your own to the talk page too, I can either incorporate your suggestions, or leave them for you to do next, either way works for me. I'll copy your note about additional edits (above) over on the article talk page too, for reference as soon as I get back to it today (and we can probably continue talking over there if needed, instead of us jumping back and forth between pages). --Despayre (talk) 17:11, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
- I'll leave it to you now, if there are any more translations you can't do just tag them as before and I'll have a crack at them or list them at WP:PNT. And re your edit summary, I meant I literally google searched the words, for things like that its often better than using google translate--Jac16888 Talk 18:36, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Template:lang2iso
Hi Jac16888, Do you know if there is another way to generate a language from an ISO code that gives an error if something that's not a language is specified? I'm working on User:Calliopejen1/Expand language sandbox which will hopefully soon be replacing {{Expand language}} and all its progeny like {{Expand Spanish}}, and I want to force people to write a language name that the template understands - and if they fail to do so, to give them an error. Obviously I could clone Template:Lang2iso but then both would have to be maintained separately, which probably doesn't make sense. Thanks, Calliopejen1 (talk) 21:15, 28 March 2012 (UTC)

Sorry if I've been a bit too hasty...
I apologize if I've been a bit too hasty to take already-present "rough translation" tags and post the article on the "needs translation" webpage. I was left a bit scarred by copyediting Richelieu class battleship and discovering that I had been mis-handling "tons" because someone failed to properly translate the French to specify metric tons or tonnes. - Sorry, I was probably a bit bitey there myself, it's just that some of these machine translated articles are just terrible (take a look at Expropriation of the Princes in the Weimar Republic or [4] before I stubbed it), trying to deal with them all is getting to me a bit since often they're incredibly difficult to fix and it seems like I'm the only person bothering. I would suggest that for the time being you refrain from listing them at PNT (the 40 odd articles already there aren't going anywhere fast, adding another 400 would make it worse) except for the worst ones you come across maybe, and also bear in mind that some of them do just need a good copy-edit without any language skills needed (often it's just a case of fixing grammar, word order and removing the unintelligible bits), my own language skills are not exactly very good but I can handle a lot of them--Jac16888 Talk 20:27, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
- OK, no problem. (In terms of how bad articles can get, how about ones written by someone who is using their native grammar - most frequently Hindi or similar, as far as I can tell - with (mostly) English words? Then try telling whether or not an edit to such an article is vandalism... I see what you mean with regard to Expropriation of the Princes in the Weimar Republic and the other one, though. Sheesh! The worst part of it with the Expropriation one is that apparently the German version is a very good article, if it could only be better translated...) Allens (talk | contribs) 21:00, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
- When it comes to these articles I generally go with the rule of if in doubt, throw it out, even if it means dumping masses of content like I did with the abbey one, it's rare that I get reverted. The Expropriation is like the white whale of PNT, nobody wants to start it because it's such a huge task, and yet its the one most in need of attention, it's even full of [1]s and [2]s.--Jac16888 Talk 21:23, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

Good afternoon! At the April, 2 you proposed for deletion this article. Can you prove me a reason of deletion? This is well-known redactor and painter. I've just added new reference, but it is in Russian. With respect--Stellsman (talk) 16:59, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi - there seems to be an issue here with this users attempts to add that Lola Monroe was a stripper - diffs - I see you have warned them - they are continuing adding the disputed content in a coatracking manner now to Amber Rose - Youreallycan 19:59, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- I know, I'm watching the situation--Jac16888 Talk 20:01, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
Well now that I know "coatracking" is not allowed then I won't do it, but JAC16888 Youreallycan said he removed it because he didn't like it not because it was coatracking. Had he said it was coatracking then I would've left alone.--Ron John (talk) 20:09, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- And where exactly did I say that? I said it was a blp violation, which it is--Jac16888 Talk 20:11, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
Why did you remove the stripper information? I thought if someone was on camera stating something you could include it in wikipedia articles? She stated she was a stripper, so why did you remove it?--Ron John (talk) 20:18, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- Because it's not a reliable source and because the details of her past have already been removed in the past as a blp violation despite a more reliable source [5]. If she was a stripper, find a source, a reliable one, try and reference that youtube video again and I will block you--Jac16888 Talk 20:21, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- Here's what you told me on my talk page with regards to youtube, so I'm only following the advice you provided on my talk page. "Because we don't allow youtube videos as reliable sources, it would only be of use if it was Lola herself saying "I was a stripper". If she was a stripper, there will be a real source out there somewhere. Bonjour, j'aimerais savoir ce qui cloche avec mon site. Car cela fait maintenant deux fois qu'on me le supprime. Merci.
Sorry for French, I mean I would like to know what doesnt work with my page Carbone Neutre Antarctique. I mentionned reliable sources as the Antarctic Treaty website, the French polar institute Paul Emile Victor, the own website of the organization. So why is it deleted?

Episerver wikipedia page
Hi ther Jac, I can see that my conversation regarding the episerver page has been moved to you. Basically I am trying to get a previously deleted page reinstated by putting in proper references and making sure that it complies with the guidelines. You can see the current draft at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:KrisRandal/sandbox and previous correspondence with editor JamesBWatson here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:JamesBWatson#Episerver_wikipedia_page.

Don't you consider this misrepresentation a tad bitey, especially coming from a sysop? I wish it were so, but it's not. Regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 16:09, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- Misrepresentation? Generally we do not allow editors to edit with a conflict of interest, particularly if said edits are promotional in nature, unless I missed the memo saying we'd started allowing that. --Jac16888 Talk 16:18, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- And to answer the main point, I don't think it's bitey, it's clear that they have been told to come make those edits as part of their job, they need to be told that what they did is not something we allow, and pointed to the correct method of updating the article in a way that benefits both them and us--Jac16888 Talk 16:20, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- The COI policy says that such editors are "strongly discouraged". There's quite a space between that and "not allowed." Indeed, there's an ArbCom initiated RfC going on right now about whether or not to delete the COI policy as, in effect, meaningless because, among other things, it allows paid publicists to edit WP in its current form. Regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 18:15, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
OCCUPY GP
Hi Jac this was not an add nor a promotion. We wanted to translate it to english. But you are right We should create our pages on sandbox and release them when they are ready. Yes, it looked like that because we are new and we were experimenting on the wrong place... We planned to change it and add sources where we get it from... But you are right, we are now experimenting on sandbox, and read more rules, so I hope it will be not deleten when it is ready... :)

Hi there, I noticed that you tagged that one as a possible copyvio. To me the article seems to be a translation from it.wiki rather, so maybe we should check if the Italian text was actually copied or paraphrased from somewhere else. - Take a look at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2012 April 12, the original version (of which the current is pretty much the same with some formatting) is clearly a direct machine translation of the original Italian version, which itself looks very much like a copyvio (and the Italians have tagged theirs as a suspected copyvio too) --Jac16888 Talk 18:21, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

Deletion contribution article Ysbrand (Michael) Rogge
Hello,
I am not sure what part/s of the article you consider to be biased or non-attributable, nor the CoI? (Sorry,It's very confusing bouncing back and forth, between all these pages)
It is important to get it right, so please can you expand on where I should be looking please?
Thank you Debbie Green Artslooker (talk) 18:20, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
- The general tone of the article comes across as something of a promotional piece, it could do with being rewritten in a more neutral way, also if you take a look at Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, it should help you apply the references you have to specific points within the article instead of just a list, and bear in mind that you can't just reference a person (i.e. Vernon Holt), the best references are to things like news articles or art reviews. As for the COI, you said yourself that you know Mr. Hudson, so you just need to be aware of the possibility you may be unknowingly biased--Jac16888 Talk 18:27, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

- The issue is that of notability, which the article did not demonstrate, it needs to be shown through the existence of multiple reliable 3rd party references--Jac16888 Talk 13:57, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
Ok, thank you for the information.
Is it enough with links to compo-results and demoscene databases or is much more references needed?

- compo results from Revision 2012 in Saarbrücken, Germany
- video of Jolt being first out in the Revision 2012 PC demo compo

- Have you every attempted to tidy a bad translation? It is extremely difficult, harder than actually just translating an article in the first place. Or perhaps you would like to go and have a shot at tidying Expropriation of the Princes in the Weimar Republic? There is procedure in place for creating articles here from other language wikipedias, and it does not involve adding a terrible translation and leaving it to someone else to tidy up. The fact remains that Hot cake has a very poor grasp of English, to the point where they do not seem to grasp some of our important policies such as not canvassing. and it would be better for all parties if they were to just edit their own language wikipedia--Jac16888 Talk 13:18, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Deletion of the Pesterchum page
If you look at the pesterchum page which is hopefully still viewable by yourself, You will clearly see that I have included reasons of notability. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Irockz (talk • contribs) 18:22, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

The American College of The Building Arts-just a few questions.
Hello Jac16888
I understand that you deleted the page posted by me yesterday. I'm curious of the reasoning behind the deletion and whether or not it is possible to make the page better and re-post it. I very new to Wikipedia and the project was forced upon me by my college professor.
Thank you for your time — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sdonnorummo15 (talk • contribs) 21:14, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- I didn't delete it, I moved it back where it started: User:Sdonnorummo15/sandbox, because a) you moved it to the wrong place (see Help:Move) and b) because it is not currently in a fit state to be a legitimate article, it is overly promotional and badly formatted. I recommend you read Wikipedia:Your first article and that you recommend your professor read Wikipedia:School and university projects and get in touch with us so they can do a Wikipedia project properly--Jac16888 Talk 21:21, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
Okay so how do I decrease the promotional aspect? I was aiming to give as much information as possible, from the few sources my group could find on the topic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sdonnorummo15 (talk • contribs) 22:54, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- Well you're probably better off starting from scratch. Try and find other articles about similar subjects to get an idea of what you should be doing, and what you should and shouldn't include (for example I would say descriptions of all the board members is overkill, starting off with "The ACBA dedicates itself to teaching and preserving the building arts for the coming generation" is the kind of content you would find in a brochure, not an encyclopedia--Jac16888 Talk 22:58, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
Okay so should I remove the topic of board completely or just leave their names? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sdonnorummo15 (talk • contribs) 23:36, 30 April 2012 (UTC) also I'm looking through that help:Move)option your showed me but I cant figure out what topic it should become. All of the options seem pretty vague to me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sdonnorummo15 (talk • contribs) 23:50, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- I'd get rid of it altogether. The option is (article) but if you move it now it will most likely be deleted as promotional --Jac16888 Talk 09:58, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
Okay I've removed the board all together. ive also gone through and tried to get rid of everything potentially promotional and leave in only facts. How do I chack to see if an article is good to go? Sdonnorummo15 (talk)--Sdonnorummo15 (talk) 21:43, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
- You could ask at the Wikipedia:Help desk perhaps, or submit it to Wikipedia:Articles for creation. However it still needs a lot of work, Have you looked at related articles as a guideline? For example it still needs an intro "The American College of the Building Arts is a .... in the town/city of ..., founded ....." Then you would want to have a history section describing it's inception, creation and early years, combine it with the purpose section which needs toning down i.e. "master artisans". Have a read of Wikipedia:Tutorial to learn how to format internal and external links properly and how the article should generally be styled, and get rid of the "mission" section--Jac16888 Talk 11:00, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi Jac16888, Thanks for moving my Barbarella Casting page to my user sandbox. I wasn't quite sure where to put it.
I have one question for you. When I'm ready to move it to it's on page on the main wiki site. What is the best way to do that? Last time I chose Article:Barbarella_Casting, but I was shown some sort of error message that I needed to move it to my user page. What is the best way to properly place the page on the Internet when I'm ready to publish?
Thanks for you help! --Eric — Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.77.219.105 (talk) 16:17, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

- Your edit comment "beans" appeared to me to imply that the link to the vandalism was unimportant; the sockmaster has been very persistent and in using so many aliases, other editors, myself included, were not able to see the connection to earlier vandalism. For example, I devoted a well-meaning discourse with one of the socks on the article talk page only to have a knowing admin come in and rightfully strike all the commentary. If you look at the article history, editors have often been "tricked" into believing there were AGF submissions. FWiW Bzuk (talk) 16:39, 12 May 2012 (UTC).
- WP:BEANS, it means don't don't give them any ideas, allowing a vandal to get credit for a page being protected for all to see is just an encouragement to them--Jac16888 Talk 16:42, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

3 Dimensional Sudoku
21:52, 7 May 2012 Jac16888 (talk | contribs) deleted page 3 dimensional sudoku (Expired PROD, concern was: Not notable; how a 4x4x4 or 6x6x6 cube puzzle could be related to Sudoku is beyond me; written by the author of a book, the discussion of which takes the majority of the text; speculation)
Hi Jac,
I see you deleted my page ? I assume the text copied above was written by you ??? Does that mean that anything that is"beyond you" gets deleted. If standard sudoku is based on a 9x9 grid and you extent it into the third dimension then it is based on a 9x9x9 cube. But that is a bit cumbersome to make a puzzle out of, hence the reduction to 4x4x4 or 6x6x6.
I am an engineer not a math major and my reason for trying to get something on Wikipedia is to try and find some boffins who might be able to take on the maths. My book Sudoku-Stak is the first book in the world of 3 dimensional sudoku puzzles. Please feel free to search the internet yourself and find anything similar.
If you are up to modifying my post so it is acceptable, please do so. I have contacted Mensa associations around the world giving their members the link to the page and hope that they will be able to add the intellect that you desire to the page..... but I have to have something to start with.
Thanks,

- No it was not my text, it was the text of the person who nominated the page for deletion, and since nobody protested I deleted it after the week expired. I can restore it if you wish, but you should be aware that it will probably be deleted again shortly after. For starters you say it is based on your book, that makes it promotion, and gives you a conflict of interest. Second is that there were no reliable 3rd party sources in the article, and if your book is the only one of its kind I doubt there will be. Wikipedia is not for making something notable, it is for reporting on subjects which are already considered notable, which this does not appear to be--Jac16888 Talk 10:43, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
Serious request translation
Hello, I see that you removed my cleanup-translation header at the Serious Request page. However I really feel that there are a lot of mistakes in this article. For example the following sentences all sound really shaky to me:
- Due to this switch he said the radio station was vulnerable,
- Between 19 and 24 December 2005 another house of glass was built at the Neude in Utrecht.
- Sander Lantinga and Giel Beelen, last year's occupants of the house, decided not to enter it beforehand and were unavailable to be chosen:
- Also from Leuven DJ Otto-jan Ham will leave for The Hague and Geneva with a bucket of water.
- The Dutch Government promised to donate 2,5 million Euros if the Dutch people raised the same amount of money before the end of the project.
- Previously, in 2007, French-speaking Switzerland organised an action in Gevena.
- However, a lot of companies and Netherlanders took this as a sign to be even more generous this year.
There are a lot of tenses I'm not sure are correct, like the overabundance of the past continuous, so I think the article should be looked at. EllaLM (talk) 15:10, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- It does need cleanup, but from a translation point of view, it just needs a good copy-edit. There is nothing that requires a translator--Jac16888 Talk 15:13, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, I figured since most of those mistakes are because of a strange translation I would use the translation template. I guess I could make it just a copy-edit template? I thought maybe that would be very broad and not so useful... EllaLM (talk) 15:23, 20 May 2012 (UTC)

- Yeah, I usually just remove non-english content when it leaves an english page behind, in this case the vietnamese is just a translation of the english (or vice versa) so I've removed it, I'd leave it up to the creator whether or not to copy it to the viet:wiki, you could if you want to, but I'm not sure they'd appreciate it, and it would be hard to sort the navbox/templates & cats--Jac16888 Talk 13:23, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you kindly for your reply Jac. Being as I'm uncertain of the subject's notability in this case, I wouldn't dare attempt to move it to the Vietnamese wiki on my own, especially as English is the only language I'm able to read and write. This article was created by a new user who I'm trying very hard not to bite, so I felt it was important to get the details and a good second opinion from someone in the know, just to make sure the issue was dealt with correctly. I appreciate your fast and friendly response. Have yourself a great day Jac, stay well, and happy editing! :) -- WikHead (talk) 14:28, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
- No problem, not so sure on the notability myself. Same to you, think I'll go back to enjoying the sunshine--Jac16888 Talk 14:32, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

- Heh, here in the UK we're having a beautifully sunny week...which will probably be our only summer, and it will rain all june, july and august--Jac16888 Talk 15:04, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

- As I assumed might happen, the article's creator has returned to revert all our efforts, and I'm probably running a bit too close to the 3RR red-line to do much about it. If it's not against the rules for me to ask in this situation, I'd really appreciate you taking another look. :) -- WikHead (talk) 20:53, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
- sigh. Some people just have to be awkward. I'm removed the content again, and some fluff. And then I went through their last few edits which were for some reason of engvar violations and introducing spelling mistakes --Jac16888 Talk 22:02, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

Heh, you're too kind, it's always buoying to have a pleasant conversation with an actual wikipedian as opposed to the usual "hey why u delete that its mine give it back its not spam its just to make more people aware of it" bleh. You deleted Storify and apparently believed Abductive's claim that "A search for references failed to find significant coverage in reliable sources to comply with notability requirements. This included web searches for news coverage, books, and journals". Abductive needs to improve their internet search abilities, because there is actually ample coverage in reliable sources. Even when you deleted it, the article linked to http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,2087815_2088159_2088158,00.html, which should have been sufficient for you to realise that deletion was not uncontroversial - a requirement for PROD. I've restored and edited the article. Please take more care when assessing PRODs. Fences&Windows 10:21, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
- Nobody objected in a week, and I didn't consider a single entry in a "Top 50 websites" link to be enough to object myself, I stand by my deletion of the article as it was--Jac16888 Talk 10:30, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

Hello,
My information in my sandbox was deleted. I am unfamiliar to writing in wiki and thought that I was doing things correctly. Can you please call me at <redacted> thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Roundtablemedia (talk • contribs) 22:39, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not going to call you, it was deleted because it was pure and blatant advertising. I suggest you read our rules about using wikipedia for advertising purposes, conflicts of interest and role accounts before you go any further, or you may be blocked as a advertising only account--Jac16888 Talk 22:50, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Just received your email and you stated I might need to change my screen name and that all the work I did early has been deleted?? I don't understand this. If this is MY wikipedia page why do I not get to choose what is on my page?? I do not want to be associated with Emmanuelle. Something I did years ago! I am currently involved with a lawsuit over this. The movies where never suppose to even make it to the US. I really can care less what else is on the page..even though I thought I gave you a better pic..but I would be very happy if you would be so kind to remove all stuff about Emmanuelle or being a soft core porn star. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Veggieboomboom (talk • contribs) 20:30, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry but thats just how Wikipedia works, it's not your page, it's wikipedias page which just happens to be about you, you don't get to pick and choose what's included, this isn't facebook. I've removed the bit about Emmanuelle from the introduction, as it's not necessary for it to be there but I've left the rest in the article. You're free to request changes and corrections to the article on it's talk page using the {{editrequest}} template, and ignore the bit on your talk page about changing your username, thats just part of the template, I was trying to draw your attention to our policies about conflicts of interest--Jac16888 Talk 20:43, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

Deletion
The page I submitted was deleted. Can you help me get it submitted? It said it has too much advertising but a similar company has almost the same information. This is my first experience with submitting a page to Wikipedia. Any insight you can give me would be wonderful!

- Firstly, the existence of other articles is irrelevant, no article can be used to justify the existence of another. Second, your attempt at an article had two major flaws, both of which were the reason it was deleted. One, it was pure and blatant advertising ("Lifemax is pursuing a vision, a World Vision, which involves people from every community, every walk of life and every corner of the globe" seriously?), if you're looking for somewhere to advertise I suggest you try facebook, because we do not allow it. Two, it had zero reliable 3rd party references to demonstrate notability. Since you're clearly connected to this company, you therefore have a conflict of interest and will be unavoidably biased, which we also do not allow. If the company is notable, then someone else will write about it in time, and they will be able to do so properly --Jac16888 Talk 17:26, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

You may want to reconsider the length of the protection on this article. Basically it's a spill-over due to Ploughshares Fund and Joseph Cirincione being under lengthy (and in one case indefinite) semi-protection, so the vandalism has spread to that article instead. A quick look at the history of those articles will show you how long it's been going on for, so it'll probably be back at RFPP in a month's time anyway. 2 lines of K303 11:15, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
- Meh, it's a few months between the protection on those two and the vandalism starting on this one, give it a month and we'll see what happens--Jac16888 Talk 11:18, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Userpage protection
I was (mildly) surprised to see that you declined an editor's request to semi-protect their own user page based on "Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection". These types of requests are generally granted as the protection policy notes "User pages and subpages are sometimes protected at the user's request, or if there is evidence of vandalism or disruption" (bolding mine). --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 17:01, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
- No these pages are sometimes protected, by admins who don't realise or don't care that they're just feeding a hat collector and applying utterly pointless protection--Jac16888 Talk 18:31, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. So it is your personal choice, it wasn't something specific in this particular case. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:35, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
