St. Anselm, I'm not sure I appreciate you following me around Wikipedia, it's beginning to feel like stalking. The changes you've made have disrupted what was already there; I added a few categories, following existing previous capitalization. In ictu oculi (talk) 01:54, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Baghdad church attack 2010

Hi, Anselm. How certain are you that it should be Coptic Orthodox and not Coptic Catholic? Thanks. --Kenatipo (talk) 16:47, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'd be pretty certain. It is, of course, a vague claim - and I thought that when al-Qaeda mention Coptic they mean the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria. Looking at the Coptic Catholic Church article now, I see the strange statement "The Catholic Coptic Church does not have Coptic only monasteries." Hence, an unspecified "Coptic monastery" is almost certainly Coptic Orthodox. StAnselm (talk) 19:36, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: List of Hebrew Bible events

St. Anselm,

Thanks for your edits and internal links. I looked over your contributions. It must take lots of time to accomplish what you have accomplished. I have noted how incomplete the Hebrew Bible story list is. Hope to work on it from time to time. Also, since this is the Hebrew Bible, I thought that it should be arranged as the Hebrew Bible is arranged. Thanks again for your help.

Systematic theology article

I apologize if you're not the right person to ask, but I noticed you'd edited the article some and thought I might ask you.

In Systematic theology, the lists of theologians associated with it are becoming rather long and unwieldy, and the section is adorned with one of the dreaded cleanup tags. I wanted to split the list of Catholic theologians into two columns much like how the Protestants currently are there, but I saw there are three distinct alphabetical lists of scholars there. Do you know what the difference between these three lists are, and whether they could just be merged? (I might also wonder if some of the names could be trimmed somewhat, but that is another question entirely.)

Thanks for any help. Kansan (talk) 20:01, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Advice Needed

I'm not sure if you remember me, but I once asked you to help solve a dispute... which you did admirably. I have a different issue now: What is the proper way to go about reporting/documenting inappropriate behavior or personal attacks by other users? Any and all info will be appreciated. I figure if anyone knows, it's you. Thanks in advance. -Blueman33 (talk) 12:13, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the advice over on my page. It's interesting... as you said would happen, the first crowd of people at the discussion seemed to be trying to not only hold athletes to a higher standard of notability than others, but to an even higher standard than the given policy on athlete notability. Fortunately, a few cooler heads have now arrived at the discussion. -Blueman33 (talk) 18:58, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rob Bell Draft

1) The debate on the book has been on-going since 4 March. 2) "No one" appeared to be interested in writing a draft. 3) It had gotten to the point where comments started focusing on individual editors rather than the issue at hand so I wrote a draft to kick things off. If this draft is "too vague" or "won't do at all", I would think that this page would welcome a viable alternative as the overwhelming opinion is that "something" should be written. Considering there are editors on this page who have been fighting ANY insertion of critical comments, I was trying to strike a balance. Ckruschke (talk) 20:00, 29 March 2011 (UTC)Ckruschke[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at 1965–66 Ashes series. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please read Template:Main/doc and adhere to that template's proper use. StAnselm (talk) 09:55, 19 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How can reversing deletions be vandalism? I am now using converting my cricketing articles to the template, which I think you did for the 1954-55 Ashes series, I can see why you would not want to do this for all my articles. Should I continue? I also think that 200px is too small for the Ashes Urn picture as it leaves a space around the frame, 300px fits better. Philipjelley (talk) 10:05, 19 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
We appear to be going around in circles here, do you onject to my adding links to the other articles? The only reason they are separated is because they are too long to all be in one article. I think you mean I should be using "See also" instead of "Main Article", but it is difficult to tell. Philipjelley (talk) 10:17, 19 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The other thing is, I have no idea why there needs to be both MCC tour of Australia in 1965–66 and English cricket team in Australia in 1965–66. Is there a subtle difference between the the MCC and the England team? Because the England team article starts off with "The MCC..." StAnselm (talk) 10:23, 19 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
They formed one article, but it was too long and had to be divided into mtwo. Strictly speaking the MCC organised the tour and the state matches were played as the "MCC", but in the Tests they were "England". The England team in Australia is more a discription of the England Test team, though it also covers the MCC team. I have rewritten the beginning 1965-66 Introduction with the sub-articles in bold so that they will not be overlooked, they are rather important. If this is OK, I can rewrite the others in a similar style.

The 1965-66 Ashes series consisted of five Test matches, each of five days with six hours play and eight ball overs. It formed part of the MCC tour of Australia in 1965–66 and the matches outside the Tests were played in the name of the Marylebone Cricket Club. M.J.K. Smith led the England team with the intent of regaining the Ashes lost in the 1958-59 Ashes series. The Australian team was captained by Bobby Simpson in three Tests and by his vice-captain Brian Booth in two Tests when Simpson had a broken wrist and later chickenpox. Holy Saturday/Easter Saturday confusion

I'm struggling with your recent good-faith edits to Easter Saturday and Holy Saturday, specifically regarding the former being used to mean the latter in a piece of NSW Public Holiday legislation. Saying that such a terminological switch occurs "sometimes" seems a bit misleading to me. Does usage in a single (?) law qualify as "sometimes"? While government documents are important primary sources, they can introduce errors just like any other type of document. Easter Sat. and Holy Sat. have a long history of being distinguished. Why should a single (?) piece of legislation void this distinction? Or more to the point: should non-standard/uncommon usage be highlighted in the lead paragraphs of these articles? I maintain that the NSW usage is erroneous (and I want to discourage further eroding the distinction between the two dates). Let's discuss. — HipLibrarianship talk 16:48, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pippa Middletone deletion

Hi there. You posted on my talk page that I did not complete the nomination for deletion process for the article referenced above and I replied stating that I am frankly unsure as how to complete the process. In other wikias you nominate a page for deletion and the template automatically creates a discussion page for it. The procedures guiding Wikipedia are not very intuitive and i am lost in pages upon pages of instructions linking to dozens of pages - each of which have instructions etc. So if you could show me how to go about the suggest/nominate for deletion process, I'd appreciate it. Thank you. CarrieBee (talk) 20:49, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well I disagree. Cluttering wikipedia with every tom dick and harry who had their five minutes (literally) in the press is not very encyclopedic. I still dont understand what it is you are supposed to do in order to get a page nominated for deletion. What exaclty is it that i didnt do? And yes i read through all those pages and it is just confusing me. I am not a computer person, I dont know anything about programming or any of the wikipedia weird codes. I asked to please explain to me the process, not just refer me to yet another bullshit wikipedia instructions page that links to 20 other instruction pages ans so forth. If you are an admin, then the appropriate thing for you to do would have been to fix the issue and advise me of it, instead of just removing the nomination altogether because i didnt "do it right." If it is your goal to deter new people from editing on your holy grounds, then I guess your approach is the best one. Thanks for abso f*^cing lutely nothing. Your famous edits

"Famous" is by no means always a PEACOCK term, and in many cases it would be misleading for the lead not to mention the fame of its subject. In particular you should not remove or tag uses of this or other terms in the lead without reading the rest of the article to check whether or not the claim is expanded and referenced below, as was in fact the case at Jane Eyre and other articles. ⚠

Thanks for uploading File:The Odessa File - Frederick Forsyth.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 03:44, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request for comment

This message is being sent to you because you have previously edited the Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English) page. There is currently a discussion that may result in a significant change to Wikipedia policy. Specifically, a consensus is being sought on if the policies of WP:UCN and WP:EN continues to be working policies for naming biographical articles, or if such policies have been replaced by a new status quo. This discussion is on-going at Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (use English), and your comments would be appreciated. Dolovis (talk) 17:35, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request for wisdom

I am writing to you because you and I have recently edited some of the same pages. As has User:Hrafn. On the page of the seminary and Bible college Wales Evangelical School of Theology Hafrn repeatedly puts a tag suggesting that the page should be deleted. This user also fought to have Jonathan Stephen and College Church deleted. To me and many others, the AFD on College Church [4] seemed like an especially "pointless deletion" [5]. So, I would appreciate it if you would look and see if this admittedly small college merits a page simply because it is a college? Or if it it is appropriate to delete it?I.Casaubon (talk) 15:40, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Newfrontiers

I have reverted your most recent edit on the Newfrontiers page. I agree the recently added content was unsourced, but not the older comments you deleted. Both are sourced, both support the related claims (exclusivity and spiritual abuse respectively), both have stood the dual test of quite some time and experienced wikipedia editor scrutiny. Besides, the text remaining after your edit did not make sense as it stood. EutychusFr (talk) 05:15, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The quote as it stood is the result of previous editing of the page. Rather than go back and dig out the previously disputed comment, for my part I'll accept its removal whilst expanding the quote from Walker's book to clarify the point he is making (which, as it stands, is about the movement not the person, although if you care to get your hands on the book you will see what he has to say about Virgo in the immediate context)EutychusFr (talk) 05:57, 8 June 2011 (UTC).[reply]

Ron Holmberg

Please provide specific examples of what problems you are referring to.

At this point I am clueless as to what I need to do to satisfy your concerns since I have provided extensive references throughout the page. So far I have provided a lot more references than provided on other similar pages.

I don't see similar objections for wiki pages for other similar persons such as John Newcombe and Barry MacKay that do not have as many references as I have provided.

Unless you provide specific examples of what your objections are, I cannot address them (and I doubt I can continue to devote as much time as required to satisfy every one of your concerns).

Please note, the biography section is based on the write-ups posted on both the Southern and Eastern USTA Hall of Fame inductions. I can try to provide additional references for the biography section, but I would assume the USTA would have verified the validity of their write-ups. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rnr7144 (talkcontribs) 07:36, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Glutton (film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Film in pre-production. WP:NFF

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. BOVINEBOY2008 15:33, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
