Revision as of 14:42, 8 April 2010

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages that were uncontroversially deleted. Articles deleted via proposed deletion and pages deleted under certain speedy deletion criteria, such as G6, can be restored through this process. This page also serves as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere.

Note that requests for undeletion is not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion, and you are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here. To request the undeletion of images, you may also tag the file page with {{ImageUndeleteRequest}}.

Possibly more of a history merge, as the initial article dates back to 2008, whilst the current article is only a year old -Londo 06 03:01, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Under this title I cannot see any deleted revisons. Rather it seems that it has been created by you as stub two years ago.[1] and has never been deleted but only been moved. So unless the story is more complicated, there does not seem to be a need to a history merge. Maybe the confusion arises from a major rewrite prepared by User:Slater582 in his sandbox? --Tikiwont (talk) 07:53, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cam Folker

I wish for this article to be undeleted because I added it because this person was not only interesting but famous with no information about him, it showed the article was deleted because of A7. I did not know it was published because I was await review, but the article is more than valid. Check the reference page and how many fans both nationally and internationally. He hasn't been on facebook for very long but has a ton of fans and a lot of buzz around utah, he's been on several radio stations and knows a lot of famous people to boot. Please reconsider the submission, what I stated was short and factful without copying what was put on facebook. This is not opinion. Check his name on search engines. Thank you for your time. -97.117.99.51 (talk) 06:55, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done - the page has been restored to your userspace at User:FootsieWootsie/Cam Folker. You may work on improving the article's assertion of notability at its new location, but please contact Kubigula (talk · contribs), the administrator who deleted the page, before moving it back to the article space. This article was deleted because of article 8. I would like to fix it and resubmit. thanks. -Simurg16 (talk) 11:54, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Question: There has never been an article with that title. Can you give the exact title of the article you mean? JohnCD (talk) 13:23, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Paolo Iovannone

Paolo Iovannone is a canadian songwriter/producer from Montreal working under different names and groups. He is the recipient of a Juno Award for the recording project Capital Sound. (Best Dance Recording - 1995) Paolo has also received a Certificate Of Achievement Award for Songwriting by Billboard Magazine. (More Than Friends - 1990)

The main reason the page was deleted based on the feedback was unverifired claims and orphaned links and was then referred to link to allmusic.com so here's a link to allmusic.com

http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:dvfoxztgldfe

There are other links available and once page is up, we have no problem with editing info to meet Wikipedia's standards and edit the text to meet those as well. Blueskinge (talk) 13:47, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done I have restored the article. What you need to do is sort out the references: two that I sampled do not seem to mention him, and the "Juno Archives" one didn't work when I tried it. The article asserts that he has won a Juno award and has sold a million discs in Canada alone, but it has been annotated to say that those claims are not supported by the references given. You should either find reliable sources to confirm the claims, or remove them; and it would be best to remove references that do not actually mention the artist. The allmusic link you give doesn't say anything about him, much less confirm the claims in the article - it just gives a list of songs. JohnCD (talk) 16:36, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kate Kennedy Club (second application)

(see also similar advice at first application further up this page.)

This page was originally deleted as it required further citations or verification/ it did not meet 'general notability guidelines' and required further reliable secondary sources. This page, should, however, be restored as it is an accurate account of an exceptionally active and world renowned club which has an extensive history. The Kate Kennedy Club exists to preserve the Kate Kennedy Procession which dates back to the 15th century. This Procession remains a key feature of the calendar of both the town and University of St Andrews as a result of the Kate Kennedy Club. Furthermore, the club remains committed to its three aims, and is one of the most active clubs at the University of St Andrews. Finally, the Kate Kennedy Club is renowned as one of the most exclusive gentlemen's clubs in the world, and is referenced in numerous other Wikipedia articles, not to mention national press. Many more secondary sources can be added to the article to add to its credibility and further verify it. It is simply outrageous that such a notable and active club with such history should be removed from Wikipedia, and as such I hope it can be restored. - — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rdg22 (talkcontribs) 20:37, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kate Kennedy Club (third application)

This is an article that I would greatly like to see restored in the light of the significance of The Kate Kennedy Club and its activities. The Kate Kennedy Club is renowned as one of the most exclusive gentlemen's clubs in the world, and is referenced in several published books, many other Wikipedia articles, and many articles that have featured in national press. One only has to type the club's name into Google to see its significance in Scotland as a steward of one of the UK's greatest processions, its worldwide reputation as a gentlemen's club, and it's reputation as one of the most active student club's in St Andrews. This is highlighted by the many events that the club organises for the benefit of the St Andrews student population including the two biggest balls in the country. Furthermore, the club is renowned as for its charitable works, giving away approximately £15,000 to charity every year, Finally, The Kate Kennedy Club is renowned as one of the most exclusive gentlemen's clubs in the world (according to wikipedia, among other sources!). Numerous other gentlemen's clubs and societies have articles devoted to them on Wikipedia - eg. the Pitt Club, The 16' Club, the The Strafford Club etc. I see this as a positive thing in the light of the interest they attract, but so many of these club's have considerably less history and are also considerably less active than The Kate Kennedy Club. All of this goes to show that The Kate Kennedy club is more than significant enough and attracts enough interest to merit its restoration on Wikipedia. Many more secondary sources can be added to the article to add to its credibility and further verify it, and I do hope that this can be done after its restoration. I look forward to discussing this issue further, and seeing the articles restoration soon. As stated twice before here and here, these are arguments suitable for Deletion Review. This page (Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion) only deals with noncontroversial requests, which this article (having been deleted by consensus at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kate Kennedy Club) is not. — Korath (Talk) 01:31, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article was nominated for deletion for having no content whatsoever. Then deleted for failing to meet unspecified minimum standards and also with a caution against original research.  Done - the page has been restored to your userspace at User:YouAndMeBabyAintNothingButCamels/Proactive policing.. Power of Omens

The band Power of Omens satisfies several of the WP:MUSIC guidelines. I do not know why it was deleted. A quick Google search will reveal the band's prominent position among quite a number of online music encyclopedias and webzines, too many to catalog here, and is featured in a number of reviews. The google references are pages and pages deep, which is one indication of a band's popularity, influence and success. Power of Omens is notable for being on the original lineup of ProgPower USA, which has its own Wiki article. Power of Omens is notable as a highly original and influential band in the technical progressive metal style. -66.25.43.43 (talk) 19:33, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done There was no claim in the article that the band was at all important, let alone satisfied WP:MUSIC. (The entire article consisted of a list of members, a list of albums, and a link to a myspace page.) I'd suggest you register for a free account and write an article yourself. Cheers! --Fabrictramp | talk to me 01:14, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Meghan Kabir

I don't know what the previous articles said as I didn't create them. Meghan Kabir is a singer/songwriter and lead singer of the band Flashmob, which has recently signed a record deal with Warner Bros. She is thus a notable artist and many articles are available for references. Please allow this page to be edited. If you're looking for a page to be unprotected, you need to request that at WP:RPP, not here. Just as some friendly advice, before making the request there, I'd suggest starting a draft at a subpage of your userpage, such as at User:Elephantmusic44/Meghan Kabir. That will give you plenty of time to get a quality article together (WP:FEED can help you with that), and show the folks at WP:RPP that you have something worth unprotecting the page for. Thank you, Arbitrarily0. Let the record show also that the original nominating edit by Scythian77 (talk · contribs) appears to have violated the PROD process by using the unclear edit summary "Added tag"; yet this defect was evidently not regarded as disqualifying by deleting editor Nihiltres (talk · contribs). -AHMartin (talk) 14:29, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The process at the link says: "Nomination: ... 2. Provide an edit summary that clearly indicates that the article has been proposed for deletion. ...". Yet the entire text of your edit summary is "Added tag". -AHMartin (talk) 16:16, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

infant potty training method

There was no discussion about proposed deletion or other warning about possible deletion, so no one had a chance to present counter-arguments about possible deletion. Moreover, the page is mainly about a book and its contents. Just because the book is about a topic discussed on another Wiki page does not mean the book page should have been deleted. There are many book pages on Wikipedia and there is no reason to remove this particular one. Thirdly, if there are objections to the text, the page needs to be reinstated in order to allow people to edit it. Finally, if there is a problem with the title of the page (infant potty training method), I first attempted to give it the actual title of the book which is "Infant Potty Training" but this title kept getting redirected to the "toilet training" page so it was not possible to create a page for the actual book title. If this would satisfy a Wikipedia requirement and if someone can make it possible to direct "infant potty training" to the book page, please advise how this can be done. -Thirdsecond (talk) 15:37, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The page isn't deleted, it has just been boldly redirected. You can undo the most recent edit in the spirit of WP:BRD. –xenotalk 16:24, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your quick reply. Could you please explain what you mean by undoing the most recent edit? Does this mean that the original page will reappear? I'd like to start editing my page so as to show that it's about a book and should therefore not be included in another article that discusses the same subject, but not the book. --Thirdsecond (talk) 22:33, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, if you were to undo the edit, the previous version of the page would appear. Based on what you say, it sounds like you might want to create the article (on the book) at Infant Potty Training (book). Hope this helps, Arbitrarily0 (talk) 23:07, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

IslamTube

Some admins have deleted the page islamtube because it is not significance but it is significance and the reason for this is becase there is NO other like it because it allows users to share videos, audios and images and it is The Worlds first SUNNI sharing site/organization and there is no other sunni site that conatins video, audio, image content and this is related to Ummah channel as it has their tv programs on it as the owners of islamtube work for sky channel 828 ummah channel and terfore put the programes on islamtube for the sunni's and if it is not significance pls provide link to a sunni video sharing site that offers videos, audios and images and they have to be sunni muslims not wahabi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wahhabi here is the wiki link to sunni http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunni_Islam so pls leave this up and please don't delete it as it the only one of its kind and sunni don't have any other option. the only reason it was kept on being re submitted was because i thought it was still at the point of me explaining the reason for not deleateing it i didn't realise that it was already deleted and herfore when i saved the page it re submitted it so it was a mistake and anyways it is has even more content and many good sources so pls help me and let me create the page one more time and this time i will make it so it is perfect i promise pls understand it is my first time and i am not a expert respect to our reply -89.242.30.95 (talk) 23:48, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fryrender

Other articles like Maxwell_Render, Indigo_Renderer, Vray, Mental_ray and Kerkythea would have the same problems of violating wikipedia article rules as the article Fryrender, if there is actually a violation. If the other articles about specific render software products are not deleted as well very soon, the consequence must be that the article Fryrender is recovered! Please also see the user talk of GrahamColm and the history and discussions of the article Fryrender. -195.14.217.140 (talk) 15:42, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Render engines should have a place in Wikipedia, CG has become an important thing, there's nearly no Hollywood Movie or Television Ad without CG = without use of a Render Engine. -- Kausalitaet (talk) 19:45, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done - the page was deleted because it was "unambiguous advertising or promotion". However, you are welcome to recreate the page yourself, but remember to include references that help establish a neutral point of view. Regards, Arbitrarily0 (talk) 23:27, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, if the Fryrender article is not undeleted, the other articles I mentioned above need to be checked and most probably deleted as well! Everything else would totally be injustice and a shame on the whole wikipedia imho. By the way, I myself included one neutral reference in the Fryrender article as a start, before it was deleted. --Morphosto (talk) 20:24, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I made the Article which was deleted. In the Comments I wrote, it's "to make a start". My Article was neutral and did nothing else than explain what fryrender is and a list of features. I don't understand how this can be taken as Promotion/Advertising. Nothing else than - for example - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtualdub or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CINEMA_4D.
I understand if an Article needs improvement, but if it's just deleted, there's no chance for working on it. -- Kausalitaet (talk) 20:42, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, according to Wikipedia policy, "blatant examples of advertising masquerading as articles can be speedily deleted", and this is what the article was designated as. Again, you are more than welcome to recreate the article with this in mind. If you believe there are other articles which violate this policy, I encourage you to pursue their deletion as well. Let me know if you have any questions, happy to help, Arbitrarily0 (talk) 22:01, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Team Starkid

It was deleted because it was not notable and the sources were unreliable. Their soundtrack clocked in at No. 11 on the national Billboard charts and this was supported by a report from the official Billboard website asserting that it was the first student musical to ever make the charts and might play at the New York Fringe Festival. Their A Very Potter Musical has generated talk and legal issues, backed up by statements from professors of law. Several of the sources were official interviews with Team Starkid but, being in podcast format, might have been considered unreliable. Other sources could be found to replace these, sources that would be more acceptable.
On a side note, A Very Potter Musical is as big as (if not bigger) than Potter Puppet Pals, which enjoys a spotlight on Neil Cicierega's page. (Yes, I do realize this is a faulty analogy.) And although Neil Cicierega's page is much more official and professional-looking, it has had contributors working on it since 2004.
I created a page for the creative team, because (popular as it is) A Very Potter Musical does not fulfill the Wikipedia criteria for notability, but the creative team is notable. Respectfully, Overduejustice (talk) 19:53, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

HOODYWOOD RECORDS

we don't know why the article was deleted nor have we been told why? We did not receive an email, or phone call (Nothing!) The Wikipedia article is a true and accurate account of how my company "Hoodywood Records was started and has been posted for years and we would appreciate if it is restored to its original form.(we have an opinion as to why it was removed and it is as follows) we believe our article was removed maliciously because of the efforts of Mrs Marian Franklin of the "Shaka Franklin Foundation" she was very upset with this article because I Antheiaus Conquest when I was being interviewed about my company gave a true and accurate account of my experience with the "Shaka Franklin Foundation" information which she (Marian Franklin) found objectionable. After discovering that this information made it into the Wikipedia article she was quite upset and has made several demands of me to have it removed and or edited or censured and I have refused. Now, (correct us if we are wrong)but if the Hoodywood Records Wikipedia article was removed as a result of this angry woman's and her Shaka Franklin Foundations efforts and objections, this totally violates and contradicts your policy on neutrality... right? If you need any corroborating documents regarding our company and its history please contact or call we are willing to send you what ever you need including the heated email exchange between Marian Franklin and Myself etc.

reasoning -Filmteknik (talk) 04:29, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is improved by the existence of this article, which is about one type of 3D technology and is poorer for not having such an article. This is a technical area and it may not be possible to come up with the numbers of references in the popular media that some editors are insisting on having to prove notability. Further, even within this field (cinema technologies) there is not that much in the way of PRINTED media coverage. The fact is that most of the technical discussions about these things among technicians and users is actually taking place online (places like film-tech.com). How does one assert notability? That doesn't mean that this is such an obscure thing that it doesn't deserve an article. On the contrary, the person coming home from the cinema from seeing a 3D film and recalling the brand name on the glasses and is curious what it means ought to be able to come to Wikipedia and be able to find out.

3D in cinema is all the rage these days and there are a number of technologies which all work in completely different ways. Dolby 3D, Master Image 3D, RealD 3D, XpanD 3D, IMAX 3D all work in different ways. And within the last two weeks there is now also Technicolor 3D, yet another system working in yet another way. The fact that in each case a viewer is handed a pair of glasses doesn't mean they all work the same. I would think a person who is wondering what these terms mean ought to be able to consult his/her friendly Wikipedia and find an article with a brief explanation for each. Most of these others do have articles. This one should too.

I note Wikipedia has an article on "Disney Digital 3D" which isn't even a process at all but just a marketing name they stick on all their 3D movies which are then shown by ALL of the above mentioned systems (except Technicolor 3D...they have not signed up for that as of this writing). Kind of funny that an article about something that is just piece of marketing puff can stay but one about something that is real and in use in hundreds of cinemas should be pulled. And I'm not suggesting removal of Disney Digital 3D. People ought to be able to come here and look it up and see that it's just a name just like they should be able to look up XpanD 3D and learn how it works and why it doesn't need a silver screen when most of the others do and interesting things like that.

I have no vested interest; I do not work for any of these firms, hold stock in them, or profit in any way from their use.

Done G4 deletion out of process as no discussion ever occurred. However it is still likely to be deleted due to lack of notability, so please add more text. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 05:40, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It was a BLP issue. The article consisted entirely of weakly supported derogatory allegations several of which were based on copies of primary sources hosted on scribd. There was a repost which didn't have this problem but which had no references whatsover. It seems that people looked into this and found that there were not sufficient third-party reliable sources to justify having an article at all. There would be nothing to source except the negative information, and that only to unreliable sources. That's my take, at least. Having any article at all is a BLP disaster waiting to happen. IMO it should be salted against any recreation. Yworo (talk) 14:24, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you can't make any headway there, you can take it to deletion review, but make sure you talk to Nick-D first. HTH--Fabrictramp | talk to me 13:30, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've responded to this editor on my talk page declining this request on the grounds that the only reason they want to create the article is to promote it (their stated reason for wanting the article was "this page was built with no advertising intention at all, it was simply a page that told people like myself about the hotel and where it is and what it has to offer" - which is pretty much what an ad is). As their user name is also the hotel's street address (see here) the conflict of interest is pretty obvious and I've blocked them. Nick-D (talk) 09:32, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article, as originally written, failed to demonstrate the site's notability. Please understand that notability and deletion rules aren't a judgement on the worthiness of the topic; they're a judgement on the quality of the article. A properly written and well-referenced article about the site might very well be kept, and the fact that one version of the article got canned doesn't mean the site can never have an article, either — it just means that this version of the article, as written, wasn't cutting it.
We're not obliged to keep or to undelete a poor-quality article just because one of the site's own administrators comes back after the fact to make unreferenced notability claims that were never in the original article in the first place. But you are always free to work on a new and better version of the article, which makes notability more immediately apparent, if you'd like.
Incidentally, the article was originally tagged for prod by User:NawlinWiki, not by me; I just deleted the article after the prod notice expired. Bearcat (talk) 21:47, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Aquarian Christine Church Universal, Inc.

because it is relevant & is linked to other related articles & pages/articles re: other organizations of lesser significance have not been deleted, so it would be unfair to our organization if ours was deleted. We still feel our page article was suggested for deletion out of religious PREJUDICE and not of any substancial argument for deletion. -Jwaqua (talk) 19:32, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The only article with a similar name that seems to have existed is Aquarian Christine Church Universal, Inc. · ( talk | logs | links | watch ) · [revisions]. It doesn't seem to be linked to from other pages as stated. If there are other articles with similar problems, please point them out so they can be properly dealt with also. What leads you to accuse Nyttend (talk · contribs) of deleting it out of prejudice instead of his stated reason? —Korath (Talk) 19:46, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
