Hey Arunvrparavur! Thanks for your contributions so far. I came across a few of the photos you uploaded here to Wikipedia - I was wondering if you took all the photos yourself? Just want to make sure, since I've seen a few of the pictures circulating around the internet. Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 06:18, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Paravur Municipality.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 20:59, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

File permission problem with File:Technopark Kollam Logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Technopark Kollam Logo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 07:29, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Better source request for some of your uploads

Thanks for your uploads to Wikipedia. There is an issue with some of them, specifically:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the images because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the images, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image files themselves. Please update the image descriptions with URLs that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 03:15, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't upload any more photos that you have not taken yourself

Stop icon Hi Arunvrparavur. Please don't upload any more copies of photos that you find on the Internet. Such images are copyright and we don't have permission of the copyright holder to display them here. Further violations of copyright law will result in you being blocked from editing Wikipedia. -- Diannaa (talk) 06:20, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As an emerging Port city in India, nowadays Kollam Development Authority is doing their job very well. I think Kollam Development Authority is the most active one among the development authorities in Kerala. They had already proposed a long list of new projects in the 'Partner Kerala Meet' for the city development of Kollam[1].

Almost all the important cities in Kerala have their own separate pages for the respective Development Authorities[2][3][4]. So I think a new separate page for the Development authority of this emerging city is a needed one. I request you to create a separate page.

Thank you for uploading free images/media to Wikipedia! As you may know, there is another Wikimedia Foundation project called Wikimedia Commons, a central media repository for all free media. In the future, please upload media there instead (see m:Help:Unified login). That way, all of the other language Wikipedias can use them too, as well as our many sister projects. This will also allow our visitors to search for, view and use our media in one central location. If you wish to move previous uploads to Commons, see Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons (you may view your previous uploads). Please note that non-free content, such as images claimed as fair use, cannot be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons. Help us spread the word about Commons by informing other users, and please continue uploading! --Gauri Wur Sem (talk) 21:05, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Merge discussion for Kollam Airport

An article that you have been involved in editing, Kollam Airport, has been proposed for a merge with another article. If you are interested in the merge discussion, please participate by going here, and adding your comments on the discussion page. Thank you. Trinidade (talk) 09:48, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My opinion is, we we should keep the separate page for Kollam Airport. Because of the importance. So many people may check for the info regarding the first airport in the state of Kerala in India. So its better keep those pages separately. Thank you. Arunvrparavur 15:43, 29 September 2014

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited ThinkPalm Technologies, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sunnyvale. Hi Arunvrparavur. The content you recently added to History of India and three other articles has been removed for various reasons by other editors. Some of the websites you used as sources are not acceptable to link to. For example, the articles that people have copied onto SkyscraperCity are copyright violations. We shouldn't be adding links to copyright violations or using them as sources. And it's best on the English language Wikipedia to use English language sources so that the content is verifiable by other editors, and so that we can check whether or not the prose added to our wiki is not copied from elsewhere in violation of copyright law. Please let me know if you have any questions. -- Diannaa (talk) 22:37, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Also, if you copy material from other Wikipedia articles you must put a wikilink in the edit summary to the article you are copying from & say you've copied from that article. If you do not, that is also a copyright violation. Dougweller (talk) 13:40, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:ThinkPalm Logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:ThinkPalm Logo.jpg, which you've attributed to http://thinkpalm.com/.

Thank you. Diannaa (talk) 22:38, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: File:ThinkPalm Logo.jpg was a camera click from me. And that was for the creation of their own Wikipedia page. Nobody has the right over my click I guess. No misuse intention behind that post. And that particular logo was created by the designers team. That image is not a copy-pasted one from any of their website or publications. That was taken from their front-office only. Arun (talk) 06:25, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Quilon Aerodrome

Hello Arunvrparavur. There is a primary difference between an airport and an aerodrome. As mentioned in the aerodrome Wikipedia article, - The term airport may imply a certain stature (having satisfied certain certification criteria or regulatory requirements) that an aerodrome may not have achieved. That is to say, all airports are aerodromes, but not all aerodromes are airports.

Quilon aerodrome did not have a terminal nor a hangar. Hence, calling it an airport is misleading and incorrect. At best, it could be termed as a landing ground or aerodrome. Also, in those days, many aviation facilities were termed as aerodromes or airfields. For example Juhu Aerodrome in Mumbai, Drigh Road Airstrip in Karachi and Great West Aerodrome in London, which is now Heathrow Airport. I suggest it is best to keep the Quilon Aerodrome name. Why have you added the name Kollam airport, and where did you get the name from? Thanks -Trinidade (talk) 18:21, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: Hi Trinidade, I just put Kollam Airport as a native name because, people of Kollam are still calling that old aerodrome property as Kollam Airport. That is the only reason for giving that name. For the natives of Kollam & the whole Kerala, this native name is necessary to identify this particular topic. As a proof, I am submitting a Thesis' web link. Please check the History section in Page Number 2. http://dyuthi.cusat.ac.in/xmlui/bitstream/handle/purl/3380/Dyuthi-T1357.pdf?sequence=1

If you think that the native name Kollam Airport is inappropriate even after checking this link, you can remove that. Thanks - Arun 05:38, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Thevally Palace, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.nativeplanet.com/kollam/attractions/thevally-palace/.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Proposed deletion of Cutchery

The article Cutchery has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no indication that this neighborhood is notable. None of the refs are RSs about the neighborhood itself.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Cheena Kottaram requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from here and here. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Repeated copyright violations will result in you being blocked from editing. Diannaa (talk) 04:00, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Bishop Jerome Nagar

Hello Arunvrparavur,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Bishop Jerome Nagar for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Josu4u (talk) 17:33, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Josu4u, Wishes!!

I think Bbb23 have explained the reason for 'Why do we need to keep Bishop Jerome Nagar article". A well known place in the historic city of Kollam, generally known as "The hot spot for Kollam city's shopping activities" - That is what "Bishop Jerome Nagar" for us. Made that article as in the same format of other pages (Sakthan Thampuran Nagar, Shanmugham Road). The difference is, Bishop Jerome Nagar is a closed-type shopping destination and others are open-type or street shopping destinations/neighbourhood/road.

If you propose Bishop Jerome Nagar article for speedy deletion, then propose the same for Shanmugham Road article too. Because of the same reason, "the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia." It is worth to write articles regarding places and important streets rather than spending time for making articles related to movies and other entertainments.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Karikode, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: karikode. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

Hello, Arunvrparavur. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Karicode, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Alvin the Almighty (talk) 06:31, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on List of hotels in Kollam, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Speedy deletion nomination of The Quilon Beach Hotel

Hello Arunvrparavur,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged The Quilon Beach Hotel for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

Name change

Hello Arun, More appropriate name for the article Annual passenger earnings details of railway stations in Kerala for would be "Railway stations in Kerala" --naveenpf (talk) 11:11, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi naveenpf, thank you for the message. The actual intention behind that article was to give an idea about Kerala railway stations' annual passenger earnings details. That's why I kept the name so. My suggestion is we can create a new article with details about all the railway stations in Kerala with the title "Railway stations in Kerala" -- Arunvrparavur (talk) 12:08, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Earnings is one attribute in the present article. maintaining same information in multiple article is not recommended. wW have to add more railways stations from palakkad division -- naveenpf (talk) 15:33, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Sro23, those info were there since 2-3 years. And the user who removed that is continuously trying to vandalise the other pages including Calicut, Kalpetta and Kannur. Other Wikipedians and regular readers have already complained about his edits. He is always trying to replace the skyline images with images that have no relation with the city. So as a regular Wikipedian of this article, I will protect the info at any cost. A "History" page cannot mention all the transport related info about the city. So next time, try to go through the info that you have reverted. Thanks Arunvrparavur (talk) 08:54, 26 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of List of hotels in Kollam

The article List of hotels in Kollam has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NOTDIR. Not a notable list topic as none of the entries are notable in their own right

Nomination for deletion of Template:History of Kerala Airports

Template:History of Kerala Airports has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page.  LeoFrank  Talk 15:32, 28 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi  LeoFrank , Kerala is a state with having 300,00,000+ population. It is the state in India having only International airports(Calicut, Cochin, Trivandrum), which is very rare in the country. And the state is going to get its 4th International airport(Kannur). The construction works are progressing fast at Kannur. The state is now all set to initiate the works for another international airport, which will be the 5th one from the state (See this link: http://www.newindianexpress.com/states/kerala/2016/nov/17/land-identified-for-erumeli-airport-says-cm-1539437.html).

Within 3-4 years, the state of Kerala will become the first Indian state having 5 International airports. And the Government is already prepared the plans for 2 more airports in the state, other than the above mentioned 5 (See: http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/kerala/protests-mounting-against-panamaram-airport-in-kerala/article5216706.ece, http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/specials/flight-plan/poised-for-takeoff/article7937677.ece ). So my point is, the wiki article links in this template will go high within 2-3 years and gradually the users will definitely find it easier to switch between the already operational/ under construction/ closed airports in the state. Considering the air traffic and high number of international airports in the state, its good to keep this template.

Hi Jaya Prakash, thank you for the message. It's true that Kollam-Punalur line is not the first rail line in Kerala.

Pattambi-Podanur: 1862
Beypore-Calicut: 1888
Shoranur-Cochin: 1902

There were 6+ operational railway lines in Kerala before the inauguration of Kollam-Shencottah rail line. So I think, mentioning about this line somewhere in our Kollam article is meaningless.

List of Kerala cities

Hello Arunvrparavur,
I'm undoing your undo of my edits to the List of Kerala cities by population page. Let's use the Talk:List of Kerala cities by population page to talk further about this. I base my decision on-
(1) On similar pages with lists of cities by population, the 'city' refers to an urban agglomeration, and not merely the area that falls under the municipal/corporation authority.
(2) The numbers cited were wrong, and were from a non-official website. I am sure that you will agree that the official census website is a much more authoritative and authentic source than a private website with no references, or methods of data collection, whatsoever.
I'll copy this on the article's talk page, and if you disagree, we can debate it there. I request you to keep the info on the page as it stands now (with references to the official census data) until an agreement is reached.
Thank you!
--Neogarfield (talk) 21:20, 18 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Neogarfield, thanks a lot for your message.

But I'm going to undo your edits. I've clearly mentioned on the page that this is regarding the city-based population(City Corporation, Municipality, Panchayath based) and not related to UA population or Metropolitan Area population. For such cases, there are several other articles, but this article is for city corporation based population and it's a part of several articles coming under one umbrella:- List of Kerala cities based on several facts.

If you want to mention the Metropolitan Area based population, please create another article for specifically mentioning those details.

Thanks - 08:50, 19 June 2017 (UTC)

I Have re-edited the location

Halo dear Arun V.R Paravur, you are in misunderstanding. The new proposed Greenfield Airport near Sabarimala, is in Manimala Panchayath. Also and a part of the estate is in Erumely Panchayath. The Nearest Town to this Airport is Manimala. 4.5Kms away. And have done this edit, because not of my native place and only because of clear evidence. So, please don't be misunderstood.

Please stop moving this article around, especially in and out of draft space. This belongs in article space, not draft space. — Diannaa (talk) 12:29, 29 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Diannaa, I have changed the name once. That's all. I didn't tried to moved it after that attempt. But I have objections about this article. The name, "Sabarigiri International Airport", itself is an imaginary thing. Please check the associated citations thoroughly. I'm sure that you won't be able to find find even a single citation mentioning about a project in the name "Sabarigiri International Airport". It's true that there is a new airport is in the planning stage. But the name is "Sabarimala Greenfield Airport".
A guy from the neighbouring area is trying to give hypes to his place, Manimala. He is renaming the article again and again. He even tried to abuse me verbally, for pointing his mistakes, some days back. Actually that place has no relation with the airport. Its around 24 km away from the proposed site. He is putting up hypes for his place. He even tried to call this airport in various names , like Kottayam International Airport, Kanjirappally International Airport. But the reality is that, the Government of Kerala is still facing issues related with this proposed site and the final confirmation is yet to come from their side. The announced name has no relation with his imaginary titles.
So my opinion is to check the background things related with this project and better keep the real name as title for this article - Sabarimala Greenfield Airport. Otherwise the entire article would become a misleading thing. You can check yourself and can decide accordingly. Thanks a lot for your message anyway.
Arunvrparavur (talk) 17:43, 29 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, this message was intended for the other user. The edit history is confusing, as are all the page moves, so I got mixed up. It doesn't look like the airport actually has a name yet ("greenfield" simply means that the proposed site is currently vacant). — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 18:57, 29 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Annual passenger earnings details of railway stations in Kerala has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

per WP:NOTINDISCRIMINATE - an excessive listing of statistics

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. power~enwiki (π, ν) 18:17, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. GA Reassessments

Hi Arunvrparavur. You have opened a couple of GARs, but have not completed the steps. They are Kollam Junction railway station and Kollam Municipal Corporation. On the talk page you need to decide if you are going to reassess it individually or through the community. Click on the link you decide to use and then write a descriptionas to why you think it fails the criteria for a Good Article. Cheers AIRcorn (talk) 05:25, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited QLN, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Oceanside (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
