Cleanup calendar : Newest | Earlier this month | September | August | Old | Instructions

Please read Wikipedia:Cleanup process for instructions on maintaining this page. There may be more suitable pages for requests, see the resources for collaboration box on the right.

For articles that just need wikification, you should use the wikify template. See Category:Articles that need to be wikified for articles that need wikifying.

If an article needs further cleaning up, add cleanup to the top of the article. To see articles with this tag added, see Category:Cleanup

Some editors prefer that helpers work on leftovers and older articles, just to deal with them and get them out of the way. See the cleanup calendar for requests from previous months. But either preference, new or old; all help is appreciated. If you have a cleanup routine, add your name and your routine preferences (how often, old/new articles, what subjects, etc ) to the cleanup routine list.

October 28: List of 1500 malformed wiki brackets for cleanup

I've got a list of wiki pages with malformed syntax - in particular malformed wiki brackets (not closed or opened properly). At first I tried fixing these pages myself, but quickly realised that there were far too many for just one person to do - so I am posting to Cleanup asking for help. For each item there is a link to the article that has the problem, a description of the problem (the type of mismatched brackets), and the beginning of the line that has the problem (so all the problems should hopefully be easy to locate). -- Nickj 00:56, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)

• Incarnations of Immortality - needs copyediting badly. Could use some more information other than spoileriffic plot synopses, plus a lot of wikification. Copyedited "On a Pale Horse" and "With a Tangled Skein" sections, but needs a lot of attention from someone who has read the other books recently. Munkymu Oct 25, 2004
• 3dmm - unwikified text dump. I'm convinced this is a copyvio, but I can't find where from. RickK 05:11, Oct 25, 2004 (UTC)
• Oera Linda - The book itself is almost suredly a hoax. The atricle does not make this clear. See http://www.earth-history.com/Europe/eur-oera-intro.htm http://www.nsm88.com/articles/oeralindabook.html and others. If this book is going to shake up the known history of Europe, why doesn't the article tell us what it says? RickK 04:56, Oct 25, 2004 (UTC)
• Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand, Duke of Brunswick-Luneburg - Not an encyclopedia article at the moment, in that it talks entirely about his role in the Valmy campaign. Plus, it's at the wrong place, since he was Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. Plus, Duke of Brunswick oddly redirects there...and so forth. -- john k 04:52, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)
• Politics of Hong Kong - Need to update and refactor the summary of the Article 23 controversy. Need to Tidy information imported from the CIA factbook. The lists of political parties, leaders, and pressure groups should be merged with List of political parties in Hong Kong. It would be nice to have short summaries on the list page of their positions, but the NPOV requirement may make terse summaries problematic. -- Beland 04:33, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)
• Hong Kong Basic Law Article 23 needs to be re-factored. Right now, it's too much of a chronology of news events. It also needs (another) copyedit and NPOV/fact check. See the talk page for more notes. -- Beland 01:02, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)

• Leech (comics) - was tagged but it seems never listed. I was halfway through cleaning it when I realized it looks completely bogus. Google wasn't too helpful. • The talk page has a big discussion about this problem from an old VfD. Someone went in and fired off pages for all of them, now they sit stagnant. Half a year ago there was much talk, but nothing was done - the VfD essentially didn't go through. If the deletion call succeeded, you'd probably end up with something like the TTC subway, which I prefer, personally - stations are listed on a page for their line, rather than a page for every station. The other extreme is the London Underground approach. The difference between the Paris and London pages, of course, is that there were enough Londoners (and there was possibly enough history) to flesh out a good number of the London station pages... • T.J. Hamblin - notable person? Peter O. (Talk) 17:37, Oct 15, 2004 (UTC)
• Wikified, deleted the part that read like a resumé. Is he notable though? -R. fiend 19:52, 16 Oct 2004 (UTC)
• Isaac_Asimov_Complete_Bibliography partially wikified by a number of wikipedians, but a lot more needs doing. Any Isaac Asimov buffs ready to help out? -- Cje 11:07, 15 Oct 2004 (UTC). I've added a number of wikilinks. Ray Dassen 16:19, 2004 Oct 15 (UTC)
• Some details would be nice, like publication dates and whether the book is fiction or non-fiction. MK 07:11, 23 Oct 2004 (UTC)
• Chemical hazard, Nuclear hazard - basically empty. Peter O. (Talk) 05:36, Oct 15, 2004 (UTC)
• List of biographers - This article is so incomplete it's a joke. Obviously it can never be truly "complete", but right now it's a list of random authors that must have popped into someone's mind. Of the thousands of biographers out there I don't know why these few made the list. Needs work or it should go. -R. fiend 04:30, 15 Oct 2004 (UTC)
• Autonomous Learning - don't know if this is nonsense that should be deleted. It certainly needs a cleanup. GreatWhiteNortherner 03:19, 2004 Oct 15 (UTC)
• I see some potential in this article. Corrected grammar, set as stub and deleted POV paragraphs (which was half the article). --Sw5000 16:30, 15 Oct 2004 (UTC)
• Cyropaedia (Xenophon)--wikify, style, verify?

has anyone tried the link on this "article" the info is almost an exact copy and needs to be either changed immediatly or deleted--Larsie 21:42, 14 Oct 2004 (UTC)

• Particle (band) - are these guys notable? I'm thinking of listing of VfD if not. - Ta bu shi da yu 02:52, 14 Oct 2004 (UTC)
• I'd be inclined to VFD - one album on an independant label, it seems. I'd probably vote to delete. —Stormie 11:21, Oct 24, 2004 (UTC)
• Hydrogen fuel - section headings, there may also be a duplicate to merge this article into. Rhobite 00:12, Oct 14, 2004 (UTC) Note: It's copied from a USGov site, so it's not a copyvio, but it still needs cleanup and possible merge. Rhobite 01:46, Oct 14, 2004 (UTC)
• Part can be merged with Hydrogen, part with fuel cell. Should probably redirect to fuel cell. Mgm|(talk) 13:30, Oct 14, 2004 (UTC)
• Whitby Town F.C. - nonwikified and very long JFW | T@lk 11:29, 14 Oct 2004 (UTC)
• List of state leaders in 2004 - The list of Asian countries is far from complete Aecis 14:34, 14 Oct 2004 (UTC)

• Pneumoconiosis#Incidents - Ominous tone. Peter O. (Talk) 22:04, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)
• Skytrax - unwikified. RickK 19:47, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)
• List of Charmed Good Beings/Temp - a mess. Unwikified, uses British terminology (series instead of season) for an American show, uses phraseology which sounds like it's copied from elsewhere -- "Her face lined with years of wisdom, her hands the fountainhead of a power beyond belief, the Warren witch" for example. I assume this is about the TV series Charmed? The article certainly doesn't SAY so. RickK 19:40, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)
• Rudolf Benesh - unwikified text dump. RickK 18:59, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)
• Captain George Shelvocke - a mess Sarge Baldy 14:58, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)
• Toxic mold - Needs less conversational tone. Peter O. (Talk) 13:31, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)
• First pass at POV cleanup. added info, needs more scientific info. Zen Master 21:02, 16 Oct 2004 (UTC)
• Peace of Passau - needs to be reworked, am reading around subject but anybody who knows about it want to have a go? edd 08:48, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)
• Vladislav Vancura - Oy! RickK 07:26, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)
• Alson Weber - POV, non-Wikipedia standard format. RickK 07:18, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)
NPOV-ified, rewrote in more standard format. Is he actually in the hall of fame individually, or as part of the team? May need to be rolled into a page on Kitchener-Waterloo YMCA Volleyball Team, unless he did something else notable. Munkymu 18:27, 27 Oct 2004 (UTC)
I did some POV expungement and added a couple appropriate wikilinks. It might now have grown from substub to stub. —Anville 23:13, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)
