Deara is a census town in Barasat II CD Block in Barasat Sadar subdivision in North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is close to Kolkata and also a part of Kolkata Urban Agglomeration.

As of 2011^[update] India census, Deara had a population of 11,994; of this, 6,018 are male, 5,976 female.^[2] It has an average literacy rate of 60.64%, lower than the national average of 74.04%.
