Dakshin Chatra is a census town in Baduria CD Block in Basirhat subdivision in North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Demographics

As of 2011 India census, Dakshin Chatra had a population of 7,275; of this, 3,697 are male, 3,578 female.[1] It has an average literacy rate of 80.12%, higher than the national average of 74.04%.

Healthcare

There is a primary health centre at Dakshin Chatra with 6 beds.[2]

North 24 Parganas district has been identified as one of the areas where ground water is affected by arsenic contamination.[3]
