The HTC Rezound (previously codenamed HTC Vigor) is a smartphone by HTC and sold through Verizon.[1] [2] Along with the Galaxy Nexus and Droid RAZR, it is expected to be a major competitor to the iPhone 4S.[3] It was released on November 14, 2011.[4]. It is also the first phone to use Beats Audio technology, and comes with a special pair of the Beats by Dr. Dre's iBeats earphones in full black.

Before its initial release, the phone was rumored to be the replacement for the ThunderBolt, and even carried the name "Thunderbolt 2." The HTC Rezound is the second Verizon Wireless phone available that allows simultaneous surf and talk on the Verizon Wireless 3G network. This capability is due to the chipset provided by HTC (SVDO) which allows the user 3g radio to manage a digital voice and data connection at the same time.
