:Listen up, you need to stop your general religious POV-pushing. Otherwise, if you are lucky, your next restriction is going to be a ban on anything to do with religion, the Bible, etc. If you are unlucky, it will be an indefinite block. We edit here from a neutral point of view, not a Christian POV, not a Muslim POV, not any religious POV. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 14:55, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

Revision as of 16:31, 10 October 2012

I noticed the cleanup you did on the Phys Ed article. I've been meaning to get around to work on the article and do a bit of tidying up but it kind of slipped my mind. Thanks for the help, WM2 19:09, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Shinji Tarutoko requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hello, Andycjp. You have new messages at Shashwat986's talk page.

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 04:47, 20 June 2010 (UTC) [reply]

Romanization for words of English origin

On the MOS:JP talk page, a discussion has been started about including or not including romanizations for words of English origin, such as Fainaru Fantajī in Final Fantasy (ファイナルファンタジー, Fainaru Fantajī) (for the sake of simplicity, I called this case "words of English origin", more information on semantics here).

Over the course of a month, it has become apparent that both the parties proposing to include or not include those romanizations cannot be convinced by the arguments or guidelines brought up by the other side. Therefore, a compromise is trying to be found that will satisfy both parties. One suggestion on a compromise has been given already, but it has not found unanimous agreement, so additional compromises are encouraged to be suggested.

One universally accepted point was to bring more users from the affected projects in to help achieve consensus, and you were one of those selected in the process.

What this invitation is:

 • You should give feedback on the first suggested compromise and are highly encouraged to provide other solutions.

What this invitation is not:

 • This is not a vote on including or excluding such romanizations.
 • This is not a vote on compromises either.

It would be highly appreciated if you came over to the MOS:JP talk page and helped find a solution. Thank you in advance. Prime Blue (talk) 11:37, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

move

Hi I'm proposing a move to a contentious title of diaoyu/senkaku islands. Please come to take a look: (Discuss)Senkaku IslandsPinnacle Islands — A recent discussion about the controversial use of Japanese name over a controversial land seems to suggest that neither Senkaku and Diaoyu is predominate common name. Search results show that both names are common, in which the Japanese one yields more results in Google Book search, while the Chinese name yields more in Google News and General Google search. The title was hence moved to Pinnacle Islands following the example of Liancourt Rocks and Sea of Japan, which neglects who administrate and controls the place, but pick up a neutral generally known name. In this case, although the name Pinnacle Islands does not seem to be predominately popular than the rest of two, it achieves the highest degree of neutrality required by wp:name. An admin (nihonjoe) and I have moved the page to Pinnacle Islands for neutrality, but the move is disputed by a user. --Winstonlighter (talk) 05:26, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is the only warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits.

If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at User talk:YellowMonkey, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. -- Cirt (talk) 06:37, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

YM vandalized the page I was working on, I took his star away- Clearly he does not deserve it. That is not vandalism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andycjp (talkcontribs)
Yes, it is. One has nothing to do with the other. What you did is the type of vandalism referring to as page-blanking or subsection-blanking. Please do not do so again, for you will likely be blocked. -- Cirt (talk) 06:46, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you disagree with the deletion of the page, politely ask him to restore the page—at least into your user space so you can continue to work on it. If he declines, take the matter to WP:Deletion review. Deleting legitimate comments (awards) from his talk page is petty vandalism and, as Cirt noted, could leave you blocked and unable to work on the article. —C.Fred (talk) 06:50, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please sign your posts

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you must sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. -- Cirt (talk) 06:50, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Intellectual disability and mental retardation

Referring to this change:

2010-10-09T03:12:31 Xqbot (talk | contribs) m (37 bytes) (Robot: Fixing double redirect to Intellectual disability) (rollback | undo)
2010-10-09T00:54:08 Andycjp (talk | contribs) (37 bytes) (moved Mental retardation to Intellectual Disability: Rosa`s law)

The only discussion I can find about this is post facto and shows a lack of consensus for this change. The article is currently a mess, with the introduction inconsistent with the new title (which had to be corrected by a bot), no references supporting the title, and the title itself being referred to as a euphemism and superset of what the introduction refers to. These are all issues you should have dealt with, or sought help for, as preparation for the move or immediate tidying up afterwards.

With the help of a search engine I was able to deduce why you did this, and I might even have agreed if given the chance to, but it will probably be necessary to get the article moved back until someone can do it tidily, unless you are able to finish the job "fairly soon". I can wait a day or so for your response before taking any further action... Mirokado (talk) 23:53, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I now see that you did do some initial tidying up which was reverted. I have reorganised the lead a bit and it looks as if another editor is intending at least to suggest more sources. Mirokado (talk) 14:45, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Regeneration

I noticed your revisions to regeneration. I had recently fixed the headings and see that changed it again. This is a work in progress, but please do not put humans as a special category. Humans are not a special category in regeneration or in biology in general. We are vertebrate animals belonging to the mammalian order and as such should be treated the same as mice from a regenerative standpoint. I will be returning to that page to fix it up, but I'm asking if you are going to revise the headings that you read the discussion page first where I had mentioned the structure and style. It is difficult at this point to put a particular structure to the article because it is still in an early state. Regeneration (biology) actually needs lots of work and I will be picking away at it and it would be great to have your input. Thanks.Thompsma (talk) 21:22, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edge of Heaven

Thanks for your interest in the article. I think you've noticed something that deserves some attention. Namely, that the comparison of the two faiths' views of Abraham that appear in the movie deserve to be expressed properly in the summary. My first thought was that we should stick to what actually is mentioned in the movie, but perhaps it is a good idea to link to the stories referenced as they are recognized or understood by each faith. Either both or neither. What do you think would be better for the readers? I don't want to pretend that the characters have a complete theological historical understanding, but neither do I want to leave readers in the dark. --Ring Cinema (talk) 05:02, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi -- I don't think that Terje Lømo is a very good solution. Ill-considered remarks

In response to this idiocy:

 1. New topics go at the bottom of the page -- I really cannot be bothered searching my entire user talk to find where some random editor has hidden a new remark.
 2. I've probably been a regular on Noah's Ark longer than you've been on Wikipedia, so the stalking claim is ludicrous.
 3. I still can see no relevance between trhat article and one on [Fudai, Iwate|an obscure village in Japan]].
 4. The claim that "Islam was heavily influenced by both Judaism and Christianity, and reinterpreted their traditions in its own terms." is unsourced and so should not have been restored without a source, per WP:BURDEN.

HrafnTalkStalk(P) 05:29, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In response to your continued spamming of my talkpage, I draw your attention to my talkpage header, which states:

 • New threads belong at the bottom of talk pages (pressing the 'new section' link at the top, or here, will do this automatically for you). I reserve the right to summarily remove (without responding, and possibly even without reading) any new threads placed here at the top of this talk page.
 • Discussion directly pertaining to a specific article belongs on that article's talkpage. Where such discussion is erroneously posted here, I may move it to article talk, or (if I'm feeling lazy, crabby, or for any other arbitrary reason) simply delete or revert it -- so best to post it where it belongs in the first place.
 • I likewise reserve the right to curtail (by reversion, deletion, archiving or otherwise) any thread on this talkpage that I (on my sole discretion) feel has become, or is is likely to be, unproductive. If you object to such curtailment, then by all means don't post here.

You broke the first two, so I applied the third -- now kindly keep your pointless spam off my talkpage. HrafnTalkStalk(P) 05:50, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fine, stop lying about me and pointlessly reverting good edits and you will hear no more from me.andycjp (talk) 05:52, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Given that I never started either activity, that's not exactly asking much. Discussion of articles belongs on article talk, new threads belong at the bottom, wild accusations belong nowhere. If I "hear" anything from you in violation of those three points on my user talk, you can be sure I'll revert them. HrafnTalkStalk(P) 05:58, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yaoi

Hi! Someone pointed me out to http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Yaoi&action=historysubmit&diff=437170587&oldid=437170553

I have the book in question. I can check for the exact wording, but the thing you "fact tagged" is sourced to the same book as the rest of the material in the paragraph. Everything comes from "Pilcher, Tim and Brad Brooks. The Essential Guide to World Comics. Collins & Brown. 2005. 124-125."

As for the characterization as "moral panic" I'll see if the book uses that wording. WhisperToMe (talk) 08:01, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Linking of common English words

Hi, thanks for your contributions. I noticed than in many recent edits (e.g. [1] and [2]), you have been systematically wikilinking common English words like 'art', 'error', 'language', 'conceptual', 'rigour', etc. Wikipedia linking policy explicitly says:

An article is said to be overlinked if it links to words that can be understood by most readers of the English Wikipedia. Overlinking should be avoided, because it makes it difficult for the reader to identify and follow links that are likely to be of value.

You have also taken specific links and replaced them with less-specific links: programmable thermostat -->programmable thermostat [3]; Ladies' Aid Societies --> Ladies' Aid Societies. In the latter case, this is perhaps because there is not yet a Ladies' Aid Societies article; but that is OK, because it makes sense as a potential article.

I'd appreciate it if you could revert these edits. If you disagree, let's continue the discussion. Thanks, --Macrakis (talk) 15:51, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't use one page to discuss two things. If there is also a movie by that name and you believe it is notable, Please create an article for it. --Muhandes (talk) 12:48, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The main issue here is that the page is about the song, not the words "Ballad (Namonaki Koi no Uta)". If the movie is notable, it should have an article. If not, it shouldn't. But whatever the notability status is, the article is about the song, not the movie. If, however, the movie is based on the song, that's another thing. But this needs to be sourced. --Muhandes (talk) 12:58, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please familiarize yourself with WP:VANDAL and especially WP:VANDNOT before calling someone else a vandal. The fact that we don't agree does not make my edit vandalism. --Muhandes (talk) 13:03, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

August 2011

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Ballad (Namonaki Koi no Uta). Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.

In particular, the three-revert rule states that:

 1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
 2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Muhandes (talk) 13:07, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Shaka Labbits requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about it should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you can assert the notability of the subject, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

See the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Jerzyt 06:39, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I declined your speedy there; I do sympathize with your concerns but I think this is a candidate for a merge rather than speedy deletion. Let me know if you would like more help or advice. --John (talk) 04:04, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And if you are going to propose a merge you need to make a case in article talk for this action. Actually, in this instance it might be better at the main Talk:QI page. --John (talk) 07:20, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your interest in imroving wikipeida. However I strongly disagree with your replacements, such as "Mufriate" into "Muftiate". Such brute force "killing" of red lins is in fact misleading, since the concept of "Muftiate" is not reducible to the concept of "Mufti". When seeing a red link, someone may write a missing article, thus really improving the coverage of the subject in wikipedia. Minor edits - Geology

Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Geology, as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. -- Andy, I quite agree with the revisions you made. "Evolution", which really deals with biology, doesn't apply to geology. But labeling these edits as minor is improper. Evolution is a hotly debated topic in and of itself. The minor edit box should be used only when tpyos typos, etc., are corrected. --S. Rich (talk) 05:38, 30 December 2011 (UTC) [reply]

Ichthus: May 2012

ICHTHUS

May 2012

From the Editor

This month marks the observation of Pentecost, one of the most important feast of the Christian liturgical year. It is our hope here that all of you, regardless of your religious affiliation (if any), find that the holiday, and its accompanying activities, an enjoyable and beneficial experience. We also hope that this "Birthday of the Church" is one which gives you the same joy as the birthday of yourself or your loved ones.

Ichthus is the successor to the long running WikiProject Christianity newsletter, run under the WikiProject Christianity’s Outreach department. As such, you will continue to see information about our latest featured and good articles, DYKs, as well as new members who have joined our project. You might also see links to Christianity related news from the mainstream media!

With that, I wish you all happy reading!

John Carter, Asst. Editor

Help Bring Wikipe-tan "into the fold"

As many of you may know, our unofficial mascot, dear Wikipe-tan, hasn't yet indicated any particular beliefs. However, yes, as we all know, ahem, some people might object to our beloved mascot running around in a French maid outfit. People do talk, you know. ;) If anyone might be able to develop an image of the dear lady in a image more, well, "Christian," I would like to see perhaps a vote for next month as to which, if any, image of the dear girl we might make our own unofficial mascot. Please post your images here.

Christianity in other wikis

As many of you might now, there are a large number of other Wikimedia Foundation projects, including WikiSource, Wiktionary, Wikibooks, WikiQuote, and others. I certainly believe that Wikibooks and Wikiquote might be among the more directly relevant sister projects. If any of you can think of any particular efforts in these other projects which you think would benefit from more input, please let us know here, so we can help spread the word around.

Spotlight on the Outreach department

Ichthus will spotlight a different subproject or workgroup of WikiProject Christianity. This edition will spotlight on our vital Outreach department. This comparatively small, but vital, project unit is dedicated to welcoming new editors to Wikipedia and the Christianity related content, and to providing information to the various project members, in forms like this newsletter.

The scope of articles with which this group deals is truly enormous, and, given the wide variety of material with which we deal, we would very much welcome the input of more individuals, particularly individuals who are particularly knowledgeable of the less well-known and less frequently monitored articles related to Christianity.

Speaking personally, I would be very, very gratified if we were to have this become a very, very large and active unit, with members from the broad spectrum of Christian beliefs, practices, and groups. The broader the spectrum and areas of expertise of members we have, the better we will be able to help manage the content. Please consider whether you believe you might be able to contribute in this vital area.

Church of the month

Frauenkirche (Church of Our Blessed Lady) in Munich, taken from the tower of St. Peter's Church

Contest of the month
We currently have a remarkable lack of Wikipedia:Wikipedia-Books. Right now, Category:Wikipedia books on Christianity contains only 12 books. We certainly could have at least one book on each major grouping within Christianity. One of the challenges for this month, then, is working to put together books on relevant topics. For this month, one contest is for editors to assemble the basic Wikipedia books for each of the main topics of the extant related projects. When finished, they should their creation of the books at the main Christianity noticeboard, and at the end of the month the project will award barnstars to those who have made a significant efforts in developing this underdeveloped content.

Also this month, we are going to have have a challenge to create and improve some of our more important missing or low-quality articles. As biographies are often a bit easier, this month we are choosing two biographies: Karl Behm, which has yet to be started, and the currently Stub-class article Nerses IV the Gracious. A barnstar will be awarded to any editor who can get these articles up to DYK quality level and ultimately selected for the DYK section of the main page.

Calendar
Thie coming month (mid-August through mid-September) includes feasts dedicated to the honor of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Bartholomew the Apostle, Nativity of Mary, and the Exaltation of the Cross.

Featured content and GA report
Since the last report, William de Chesney (sheriff), Knights of Columbus, and Angelus Silesius were promoted to GA level. Our thanks and congratulations to all those involved.

Wikinews is our sister site for developing news stories. Several events relating to Christianity, like the installation of bishops for instance, do not necessarily merit extensive coverage in wikipedia encyclopedic articles, but can and easily could be covered at greater length in a news article format. Given the number of significant news events that relate to religion, including claims of miracles, assignment of bishops and other religious leaders, church conferences, and other events, this site provides an excellent opportunity to provide in-depth coverage of current events at greater length than wikipedia.

One of our newer editors, User:David_FLXD, has recently gone through much of our content related to Methodism and assessed it. We are very grateful for his efforts, and that of all the editors who have had a role in developing that content. We have every reason to believe that this will make it significantly easier for the Methodism work group to create and develop content relevant to Methodism. To help that along, we certainly encourage everyone to do what they can to help David and the other Methodism editors to bring the content relevant to their tradition to the highest possible level of quality.

Wikimedia Foundation report

As some of you may have seen, the Simple English Wikipedia has been experiencing some difficulties lately. This particular entity could be of great value to several individuals who are trying to learn English. As some of you who do speak foreign languages know, one of the most easily available, and, in general, useful learning aids for people is a text they know already, which allows them to focus on the specific words of the new language. Various recorded readings and translations of the Bible are among the best examples of this. Any efforts to try to enhance this vital means of informing a large segment of our readership is more than welcome. People interested in helping develop it are encouraged to leave a note regarding their specific articles of interest at the Christianity noticeboard. It would be wonderful if we could report some significant contributions to this sister site next month. And, of course, if we do have something to report, those involved would receive our greatest thanks.

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did at Walking, you may be blocked from editing. --Fama Clamosa (talk) 14:21, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Walking, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. HCA (talk) 20:20, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is the very last warning before I bring this before the administrators. Attempting to censor the word "evolution" or references to it just because you don't accept it is vandalism, pure and simple, as if your attempt to insert religious claims unsupported by scientific evidence. You seem to be an otherwise productive editor, but this sort of axe-grinding in unacceptable and counterproductive, and I will bring it up at the administrator's noticeboard and request a temporary ban if it persists. You clearly have much to contribute elsewhere; don't taint those contributions with this petty sniping. HCA (talk) 03:28, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.

Hello Andycjp. I see you are currently editing but have not yet responded to the ANI thread. I would strongly recommend you edit there to acknowledge that you have understood further violations of WP:NPOV on your parts will not be tolerated. Take this as a final warning from an uninvolved administrator. Fut.Perf. 07:20, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
 • I'm going to repeat my explanation here of the problems with your editing, to make it clear that you have been properly warned here on your talk page. Firstly, you must not censor scientific articles to remove reference to evolution - amongst biologists, it simply is not controversial. And you cannot use religious texts as reliable sources for scientific/factual issues - they can be used as sources for what the texts themselves say or as references for what their followers believe, but not as reliable sources for factual claims. Now, the scientific consensus might indeed be wrong about evolution and the age of the Earth (though it is pretty overwhelming), but even if it is wrong it is still the job of Wikipedia to echo it - that's what encyclopedias do; they don't try to correct or argue against consensus. Anyway, if you agree to stop trying to promote your religious views or change scientific articles away from the scientific consensus, I see no reason for any sanction other than a warning/notification on your talk page (though others, of course, might disagree with me and the consensus might be a block now - as with Wikipedia articles, I can't go against consensus). But if you continue, then it's pretty certain that you will be blocked from editing, probably indefinitely. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 08:55, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

'Were you there when I made the world?' Book of Job 38:4

This sort of behaviour is exactly why there is an issue at hand. Bible quotes are irrelevant and will not alter the decisions currently being made at AN/I. In case you haven't seen the discussion, it's apparent that you are likely to be topic-banned because of trying to promote your god, your religion, your religious text, and your interpretation of said religious text on articles, while censoring scientific evidence and fact. I strongly urge you to reconsider this stubborn behaviour and accept that this is a community where people must work together from a neutral point-of-view. – Richard BB 11:57, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

By practically unanimous consensus on ANI, you are henceforth topic banned from making evolution related edits, broadly construed, anywhere on Wikipedia. Tijfo098 (talk) 03:19, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

'You will be arrested and taken to court' Gospel of Mark 13:9

Comparing your self-earned situation to the early Christians is an insult to those persecuted for the Church. This had nothing to do with religion and was totally about you censoring what is accepted as a scientific fact by mainstream academia. If you want to make this about religion: Christians were involved in your topic ban, supporting it. Young earth creationism is not Christ, nor the only way to Him. Has Christ been divided? Paul was not crucified for you, was he? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? 1 Corinthians 1:13. You cannot honestly and sanely pretend that this is a religious persecution. Ian.thomson (talk) 04:18, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What Ian said. Your comments are an insult to Christianity and poisonous to the religion. Start thinking for yourself and stop quoting bits of text you don't appear to fully understand. As I mentioned on WP:ANI, I could point to your edits over the weekend, and claim you should be sentenced to death per Exodus 35:2, but that would be equally silly. You're now under a topic ban, which everyone who expressed preference said was deserved. Is that what you really wanted? If you respond with a Bible quote, I will assume you are incapable of forming your own thoughts and opinions. However, I'll leave you with this quote which I think does apply in your situation from Romans 12:21 : "If your enemy is hungry, give him something to eat; if thirsty, something to drink. By this, you will be heaping red hot coals on his head". Or, for the atheists on Wikipedia : Don't fight fire with fire. --Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:48, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Andycjp,

Following community discussion you have been topic banned from any edit concerning evolution (in word or concept), creation (of the universe, the earth, or its creatures), or the origin of species (broadly construed), in article or article talk namespace indefinitely.

If you wish to appeal this topic ban, I will try to find you assistance to do so. I am also attempting to find you an experienced Wikipedia editor who may be able to help out.--Tznkai (talk) 14:09, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your topic ban is to be broadly construed, and per this edit to philosophy of science, I recommend you stay away from all science articles, period. Almost everyone, including myself, agreed at your topic ban thread that if you stayed away from this subject you would be fine to continue editing. I doubt you will get as much WP:AGF next time around. Heiro 03:19, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nice to meet you
Hello. I am User:Jasonasosa. I've been asked to provide you some assistance during your experience on Wikipedia. Your enthusiasm to be part of a well known growing online encyclopedia is much appreciated! I would like to have conversation with you, get feedback from you, and just go over a few things first before you begin editing. Please seek me at my talkpage at User Talk:Jasonasosa at anytime, for any reason. Just to reiterate, please do not edit until we get a chance to talk first. May your experience on Wikipedia be enjoyable and successful. Thanks,   — Jason Sosa 17:19, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Starting fresh

I noticed you said "Hi" on my talk page. It was nice to see you there. I would like to take a moment to just say that we have an opportunity for a fresh start. I am not concerned about whatever disputes you had before this point. We can work together as a team and move forward. We need each other right now... because 1. You need me for my assistance to ensure that you do not get blocked and 2. I need you so that I can work with people to improve my communication skills and interactions. So are you ready to work together as a team?   — Jason Sosa 02:35, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What does that mean, bro?andycjp (talk) 07:47, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, for starters, the first thing that we should do is talk to each other first before making word changes to articles. I noticed you made some minor edits, and that's cool. I can appreciate the link fixes and small adjustments. I must agree with the others, though, that you should avoid making any edits/updates/changes to any science related articles. It is best to just leave those alone for now. Many editors are watching your progress so let's just stick to simple stuff. If you are wanting to make any title changes or word changes, I strongly encourage that we talk about it first before doing anything. One thing about editing on wikipedia is learning: patience. Patience is the key. The best way to edit on wiki is to ask everyone if its okay to make word changes. We can do this by posting on the article's talk page. Its not necessary to ask about small changes like fixing wikilinks, spelling, or minor grammar, so you are doing really good there. :)   — Jason Sosa 09:05, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Has the ban grown- I thought it was just evolution related?andycjp (talk) 09:35, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You can check with whoever handled your case if the ban has grown... But, to be safe, isn't there other articles of interest, other than science related, that can be worked on?   — Jason Sosa 09:47, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for eaves-dropping, but I feel that I can answer this question. The ban in question was for "any edit concerning evolution (in word or concept), creation (of the universe, the earth, or its creatures), or the origin of species (broadly construed), in article or article talk namespace indefinitely"; So "science" in general is perhaps incorrect. I expect if you wanted to edit the article on black holes or carbon, for example, that'd be fine. They're science related, but they do not come under the scope of this ban. I realise the "broadly construed" part makes this very subjective, but, from what I can tell, science edits that do not relate to evolution, creation, or origins seem to be safe. – Richard BB 10:22, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, thanks Richard. We really appreciate your clarification. Your input is important to us, because as I've stated before, many editors are watching our progress.  — Jason Sosa 10:46, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Theroadislong. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Language without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 11:36, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Andycjp, This edit is a big change that requires wp:consensus, as I mentioned on my talkpage. To be considerate of others, it is better if you post a new comment on Talk:Language to explain why you would like to see the removal of what you took out. However, what you removed seems rather controversial in nature... so I would leave that alone. But I am open to having conversation about what bothers you on the Language page, if you would like. Again, please do not make large edits, even the removal of one word, without talking about it with me first. Remember, we have to act as a team. Thanks,   — Jason Sosa 11:57, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hyperlinking your replys doesn't help your case, Andycjp. Please talk to me about what it is that you want to do to make this encyclopedia better. Thanks,   — Jason Sosa 13:05, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If the editors of this wiki continue to pour scorn on the Bible it will not end well for wikipedia...

Andycjp,

It is my belief, that if you choose, you can find yourself editing happily and well on Wikipedia, where many people of deep and competing convictions work together. However, you must choose to. I asked Jason Sosa to give you guidance and advice because it seemed that it was as much an issue of language and competing culture as anything else. He is a fellow contributor, and to get momentarily religious, a brother in Christ, so I had hoped you would respect him and his advice. He certainly deserves your respect. If you intend to edit collaboratively, please say so, and please listen to him. If not, Wikipedia is not the place for you. Likewise, could the peanut gallery please stay out of it for the mean time.--Tznkai (talk) 16:08, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
