    Shortcuts

    Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in two cases. The first case is restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions (G6) or stale Articles for creation drafts (G13)), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. In the second use case, this page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be "userfied", i.e., restored as a draft or emailed to you; this way, the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here).

    This means that content deleted after discussion – through deletion processes – may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process but through deletion review instead. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided.

    Do not request that pages or media deleted under speedy deletion criteria F7, F9, F11, U5, A7, A9, A11, G3, G4, G10, G11 or G12 be undeleted here.

    Elaloro/sandbox

    So, an editor was a little confused. They were drafting an article in their sandbox, but then moved it to the mainspace by mistake. They then blanked it and it got deleted. However, I spoke with the creator, Elaloro, and they would like to continue working on it.     Imelda Trilogy

    Hi, hope you're well! I was wondering why the Imelda Trilogy page was deleted without further notice, instead of simply "flagged" as requiring more reliable sources and references? There are at least 20 more reliable sources and references for the three films that could be added in, and I am happy to include them. I was about to do just that when I realized that the page had been deleted. A lot of work went into creating this page, so instead of starting from scratch, I would appreciate building on what was already there before deletion. I could remove the references to festivals and awards, as well as to the filmmaker's websites, but I would like to point out the facts that the three films altogether have been presented in over 20 festivals, and that the second film of the trilogy did open the last edition of the Quebec City Film Festival: https://www.fcvq.ca/en/programmation/movie/imelda-2-le-notaire And that it did win the Cinémental Award, which is recognized by IMDb: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11608124/awards?ref_=tt_awd Having said that, I understand that these references could be easily removed, if not eligible and meeting Wikipedia's standards.     As the person who nominated the page for deletion, allow me to clarify a few things:

    Firstly, the page was not just "instantly" deleted without warning — there was a full week of discussion, about which you were duly notified, so you already had ample opportunity to both participate in the discussion and improve the article.

    Secondly, you appear to be misunderstanding what was said in the discussion. Nobody denied that the film was screened at FCVQ — but the mere fact of having been in film festival programs does not automatically make a film notable. The notability test for films is not "it's been publicly screened at a film festival" — the difference between notable and non-notable films depends on how much media attention has or hasn't been paid to the film by professional film journalists and critics, not just on whether the film exists or not. And nobody said it didn't win an award at Cinémental, either — but Cinémental is not a major film festival whose awards secure the notability of a film in and of itself. Every film award that exists is not always an automatic notability-maker for a film — in order to be an award that makes films notable for having won it, the award has to be a major award that gets widespread media coverage. The Oscars, the Canadian Screen Awards, the Prix Iris and a narrow élite selection of internationally famous film festivals like TIFF, Berlin, Venice or Cannes make their award winners notable, because those are awards that get broad and widespread media coverage — minor film festivals which are prominent only in their own local areas and do not get covered by national or international media, like Cinémental, Cinéfest Sudbury or FICFA, do not.

    So if you've got better references than were present in the article the first time, then by all means bring 'em on. But understand that there's a difference between reliable sources that help to make a film notable and primary sources that do not — the article is not guaranteed that it'll be able to stick around permanently just because you add new references, if the new references aren't good ones and don't support a proper notability claim.     • @Yourboi8: Not done This was written in a casual tone, much too casual for Wikipedia's purposes. The article also lacked coverage to show where this topic would be notable. Keep in mind that in-game clans or country specific user groups are typically not going to be notable per Wikipedia's guidelines to where they would justify an article or if they have enough coverage, anything other than a brief, trivial mention in the parent article for the game.     50 Classic Ski Descents of North America

    Soft deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/50 Classic Ski Descents of North America.

    It's a pretty important book among the ski mountaineering community. There are at least two notable ski mountaineers, Cody Townsend and Noah Howell using the lines listed in the book as part of a multi-year athletic pursuit. The old article did a good job of covering the lines and the reasons they are notable, and I was surprised to find it deleted.     Yes, actually. When it was deleted, the article was basically a coatrack for quotes from the group promoting their election-based conspiracy theories. There's very little content about the group, and that's borne out in the sourcing.     William LeGate

    Soft deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/William LeGate. I think this was deleted simply because no one opposed its deletion (that's my understanding, anyway). I don't know if I'm formatting this correctly at all but I think the article should be undeleted. LeGate is a prominent liberal political activist with a strong online presence. He's been on national television multiple times and has been the subject of multiple news articles, some primarily about him. Even if the initial deletion was justified (I don't believe it was), the recent incident surrounding the US stock market has seen him appear on multiple news sites as an expert on the matter. Given that LeGate is already a figure around whom a surprising degree of controversy exists (usually in the form of criticism from political opponents), having a Wikipedia page about him would be both useful and, to my knowledge, completely justified due to his notability. —Brumafriend (talk) 04:09, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    I don't understand why this image has been deleted for violation of copyrights. The source clearly states that re-using content with mentioning of the source is allowed. It is written in Farsi at the bottom of the webpage. I have received some notifications that images that are free to republish with mentioning of the source have been deleted. I noticed the user who requested my pages to be deleted is an English speaker from Canada with no knowledge of Farsi.     This is a request for userfication. Recently the AfD for Threshold Effect was closed as delete. Now I can't access the deleted content, so I'd like to request a copy of the deleted page and the deleted talk page to my user space or via email, or by whatever method you think best. The reason for my request is explained below.

    During the discussion (which was thoughtful, relisted, and as much about alternatives, as to deletion). I though the stub had potential as a broad concept, so I focused on improving it, rather than the AfD discussion directly. I posted fairly extensive comments on the talk page of the article, after which I decided to edit the article itself with some of those ideas to illustrate how it could be fixed. I turned the three sentence stub that was nominated into a much longer, more descriptive four paragraph article that was closer to start than stub (admittedly, my work only promoted it to a much better stub/start than it was before). After my edits, two drive by delete voters dropped the "It's just a stub TNT it" bomb, after which it was closed delete. That is fine with me I'm not trying to debate the outcome. Since the delete rationale literally has "start over" in the name that's what I'll do. If you look at the content I am requesting, I think you'll see why I'd like to look back over my page edits and my talk comments as I embark on the project of starting the page over in my user space.

The original reason for writing the article was that there are several other companies with the same name and this one is the one that ranks #1 on google with 10 thousand page views per month.

    Furthermore, there are several other Wikipedia articles written about similar job search engines in a similar format: see [3], [4]. It would be great if you could reverse the decision.
