Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by AndrewPierre (talk | contribs) at 14:29, 16 October 2013 (→‎User:AndrewPierre: new section). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in "articles for deletion" debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions on the template or on your talk page.

Note that requests for undeletion is not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

I would like to have the change to re write the article, there are a lot of information about apps that is missing in wikipedia. -Nadiarivas1987 (talk) 12:17, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well the A7 criterion does not apply to software, and I expect you could write it in a less promotional way. So try again. You can ask the deleting admin User talk:RHaworth to reconsider. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 05:35, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Paul Dumol

the article was deleted through PROD. One can find references on the net about Paul Dumol. By googling you can find site like Rotary, PCCED, etc. -Lafem (talk) 02:24, 4 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. I have added a single source to avoid prompt deletion under WP:BLPPROD, however in its current state the page could still be considered for deletion. Please add references to reliable sources in order to verify the information in the article. Yunshui  12:46, 4 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
OK I have added two references. Lafem (talk) 05:30, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

David Rhodes (musician)

This looks like it was deleted because the text was the same as on the website www.davidrhodes.org. That's because I created and maintain that website and I wrote the Wikipedia article years ago. Since the bio I had already written for the site seemed like a good Wiki entry, that's what I used. Please advise what I can do to verify that I wrote/posted both pieces to eliminate any questions about plagiarism and to restore David's Wikipedia entry. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me! -Staciedee9 (talk) 07:04, 6 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The simple way to do this is to attach a copyright statement to the web site that has the same license as for Wikipedia ie CC-BY-SA-3.0. You could do this by putting it on the page http://www.davidrhodes.org/copyright.html for example. This will prove that you are the same person that owns the web site material. Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Les Brown (Actor)

Just Want A Quick Appeal
Noticed this deleted and went through the routine motions described therin. The person is also The EQ Alert Guy and recently did a radio show, however all totaled may still not qualify for a Wikipedia page. Thank-You!!!Lesbrown99 (talk) 00:49, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

(This user used the preload form for AFC undeletion, but did not specify the name of the AFC draft they would like undeleted. Consider checking their deleted contributions.) Lesbrown99 (talk) 00:42, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank-You!!! (Delete This Entry???)

With all the work now completed on this request, it seems this entire entry COULD NOW BE DELETED. If anyone else who was involved in this matter or an Administrator would like. . . please make this whole convo go away. Thank-You!!! Lesbrown99 (talk) 04:13, 16 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New R. S. J. Public School Senior Secondary

my page was deleted due to speedy deletion. My intention was not to promote my page. I promise that i will not do so again. So, please undelete my page. -Pratham 09:11, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Not done. That was much too promotional in tone - it was an advertisement, the sort of thing the school might write to promote itself and say how wonderful it is. Wikipedia does not allow promotional stuff like that anywhere, so it will not be restored, and I have deleted the copy of it in your sandbox. An encyclopedia article needs to have a neutral point of view. If you are connected with the school, read the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. In any case, if you want to try again, read Wikipedia:Your first article and then use Wikipedia:Articles for creation, so that an experienced user can check it. Restaurant Kokkeriet

I would like to change the article, so it is more informative like true encyclopedic content should be, and not promotional. My article was deleted because of a G11 statement -Franksdatter86 (talk) 11:41, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: I think there's more than "a [single] G11 statement" - the "article" looks like it belongs on Wikitravel, not in an encyclopedia of notable subjects. Very few restaurants belong on Wikipedia - its existence doesn't guarantee inclusion. See WP:NCORP ES&L 11:59, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - the article doesn't appear to be salvageable. If you have any association with this restaurant, please read WP:COI and use WP:AFC to submit the article for review instead of publishing it to main article space directly. ~Amatulić (talk) 22:26, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Several G4 image undeletions needed

Hello, I'm on the road and only have a few minutes; I'd like to undelete some images that I deleted a few days ago, but I don't have time to find them. Please look for images that I've recently deleted that were uploaded by Beast from da East; you can check my talk page for links as well as checking for some deleted contributions from Stefan2 — Beast uploaded them, Stefan tagged them as G4, and I deleted them, but the "Various boxing posters" section of Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2013 October 6 reveals that they probably shouldn't have been deleted. If you're queasy about undeleting these images at my request, just please remember that you're effectively doing the self-revert that I'd do if I could. Nyttend (talk) 17:11, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Done. I shall keep any credit, but refer all complaints to you. JohnCD (talk) 13:37, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Valerie Loo

Hi there, it has come to my attention that you have deleted the page Valerie Loo and I would like to request for you to undo the deletion. Valerie is a young and budding Singaporean artiste and she has a growing influence among Singaporeans after her involvement in the television program Campus SuperStar (season 4). It is vital for her to have a wiki page for people to find out more about her. Some of the other contestants do have articles about themselves as well thus we see no reason as to why her page was marked for deletion even though it has even more adequate references cited about her. Please do consider undoing the deletion. It seems that it has been marked for deletion as it wasn't clearly stated enough about her significance in the Singapore music and online industry. We will be happy to make any changes to the article after the undoing of the deletion so as to improve the article. Thank you -Winstonbegone (talk) 03:38, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles about music. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning musicians or music groups will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. Sorry, but Wikipedia doesn't cover the up-and-coming, only those who have already arrived. Check out WP:MUSICBIO - Youtube and coming 7th in a competition is not nearly enough. reasoning -Futonic 07:38, 8 October 2013 (UTC) The page requested has been live for a long time and is in no way different from pages such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moz_(marketing_software) or even https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everest_(company). There was no one item on the page that could be seen as being promotional and was all factual based on our companies history. I don't understand why this page seem to be unfairly targeted, when there are much worse "company pages" like the ones above which seem to live on... Any advice how we can make remain on Wikipedia would be gratefully received. (The page is now redirect to a page covering the subject of Metabolism.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Futonic (talkcontribs) 07:58, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles about companies. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning companies will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject.
That's the boiler-plate answer, but I will explain a little more, since we do not explain clearly enough to new users the important fact that Wikipedia is not a place for companies or people to tell the world about themselves. Please read the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide.
The argument What about those other articles is not generally accepted, but I will point out that the two you reference differ from yours in giving a large number of independent references which show notability, whereas yours had only your website and your founder's LinkedIn, plus one which did not mention Metabolics; also, if you look at them, the Everest article was very obviously not written by the company's PR department, and the talk page of Moz contains considerable argument with the company's representatives. Wikipedia:Article Incubator/List of female video game characters by role

Please userfy to my user space. I was intermitently working on it and had plans to rework some of its content to make it suitable for inclusion (possibly as part of Category:Video games featuring female protagonists and its related pages), but it was deleted from the incubator without notifying me (as I requested it to be incubated). I want to keep a copy at my space, with the full history for attribution to the other authors, to continue working on it at my pace. -Diego (talk) 11:10, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Done to User:Diego Moya/List of female video game characters by role. Check with Ruslik0 (talk), the deleting admin from the MfD, before moving this back to the main space. JohnCD (talk) 08:05, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Important of lead aVR in identifying high risk patients with coronary artery disease

82.114.178.184 (talk) 13:22, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Question: we have not had an article, or an AfC submission, with that exact title (nor with "Importance" in place of "Important"). To help us find the page you mean, can you give its exact title (capitalization is important), or alternatively the name of the account or IP which submitted it, or was notified of its deletion? Abubacker

reasoning -Johnadamsmithh (talk) 14:18, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why the article deleted often. I want to create article about famous notable person in south India. His name K.A.M. Mohammed Abubacker( The State general secretary of IUML in Tamil Nadu ).

Reference :

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Union_Muslim_League#IUML_in_Tamil_Nadu

http://indianunionmuslimleague.in/taxonomy/term/58/0

So am requesting to not delete this article named Abubacker. Now the page was protected. Please enable this article.

Not done. This title, and K. A. M. Muhammed Abubacker, have been protected because unacceptable articles were repeatedly created by user Kamabubacker (talk). Writing about oneself is strongly discouraged in Wikipedia, for reasons explained in WP:Autobiography. The first few versions were in Tamil; the last was in English but was sourced only to a blog and seemed to be a personal manifesto, listing his objectives. An encyclopedia is not a place for people to tell the world about themselves.
If you want to write an article about Mr Abubacker, you should start from scratch. Read WP:Your first article and note the WP:Verifiability policy and the need to establish notability by references showing significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. Click on Help:Userspace draft and fill in the title; that will make a draft page for you to work on. Make sure to maintain a WP:Neutral point of view and do not try to promote. When it is ready, approach user Peridon (talk), the administrator who protected the title, for permission to post it. JohnCD (talk) 22:01, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. I looked at it, but there is nothing there - what was submitted was a blank page, with only the title and a link to Jack Rubinacci, nothing more, no actual content. person is noteworthy, I just need to get help editing a better article. -Wikimikesd (talk) 18:16, 9 October 2013 (UTC) Article was deleted because "postdlf" said " It has repeatedly been established that Aguirre is just another wealthy businessperson running for office" This seems very biased, untrue, and not wikipedia standard. Please undelete and I will have someone who is more versed in the wiki guidelines create the article. thank you, Mike Wikimikesd (talk) 18:16, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: As per the WP:POLITICIAN side of our Wikipedia standards, "Just being...an unelected candidate for political office, does not guarantee notability, although such people can still be notable if they meet the primary notability criterion" ES&L 18:46, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am sure that Richard Aguirre will meet the primary notability criterion. I just did not know what these were when I created the article. I will have my friend write the article because he is proficient in the wikipedia standards and criteria.Wikimikesd (talk) 19:14, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. This Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Mr Aguirre has been the subject of no less than four deletion discussions: 1, 2, 3, 4, so the title has been protected against re-creation and the article will not be undeleted here. if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the most recent discussion, user postdlf (talk). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at WP:Deletion review. JohnCD (talk) 22:20, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Jeffrey Fisher

reasoning -TrishaHoffman (talk) 19:09, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. What has actually been deleted is Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Jeff Fisher. I have not restored that, because there is a much better draft article at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Jeffrey Fisher. This has not yet been deleted, but is liable for deletion because it has not been touched for over six months, but if you now make any edit, even a trivial one, that will avoid immediate deletion. However, you are encouraged to edit it to address the issues raised when it was declined, and re-submit it; "Articles for creation" is not for the indefinite hosting of material found to be unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. I will notify user Giftiger wunsch (talk), who proposed it. Unless the article is drastically improved, with more substance and with references to show how it meets WP:Notability (films), it will certainly be nominated at WP:Articles for deletion, which would start a debate lasting seven days, to which you would be welcome to contribute. The_Singhs

Meets criterion #1 on [[1]] : "Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent from the musician or ensemble itself." Since the original Wikipedia article was published, additional reviews, interviews and articles about the band have been published in multiple credible/non-trivial sources, including The Boston Herald (major metro daily newspaper) Jam Magazine, Diffuser.fm, the Popdose blog and the Vinyl District blog. Band leader Jeet Singh has also been invited to join the board of directors of Berklee College of Music in Boston, relevant for notability criterion #7. -Andreakremer 21:20, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

  • Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Singhs, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Crisco 1492 (talk · contribs). Please read Wikipedia:Copy-paste and Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Also, references to staff websites and lists of publications are not enough for a Wikipedia article, which requires references to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources to demonstrate WP:Notability. New Aristocrats

reasoning -Freestyle music (talk) 19:25, 11 October 2013 (UTC) The article New Aristocrats was deleted, but meets Wikipedia reguirements for a music act to be in Wikipedia. The New Aristocrats, active today, and are both Knight Time (Vendetta Records/A&M Records) and Knight and Day (Rhino Records), which are the same and on major labels with a Billboard dance hit and have the main song in a Hollywood movie Assault of the Killer Bimbos. These acts are back on the scene under the name New Aristocrats. People want to know that. Rent My Vacation Home USA

I was adding references when all of a sudden it is deleted while I was doing it why ?

NEW INFO:

  • Rent Reviews and Variable Rents by D.N. Clarke & J.E. Adams (1 December 1984) p.38
  • Perpetual Income: How-to Generate Cash Flow from Low-End House Investments by Bryan Wittenmyer (1 July 1999)

Why would you delete this when I was working on it with references. Someone does not want this on here. 98.122.39.11 (talk) 02:04, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comment from a participant in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rent My Vacation Home USA: Even though the closing admin didn't say so in his closing remarks, the AFD was closed after only 4 days instead of 7. This is permissible if there is WP:SNOW but otherwise not. As to whether there was more than a snowballs chance in Hades of this article being able to demonstrate that the company was notable before the 7 days were up, well, if you are an admin (I am not), you have access to both the AFD and the full article history so you can judge it fairly. Given dates on the books above pre-date this company, I very much doubt they can aide in demonstrating that this company meets WP:Notability. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 02:52, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
And another: David is right but it doesn't really matter. This facility is for reversing deletions by uncontroversial PROD. This article was deleted as the result of a deletion discussion - Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rent My Vacation Home USA - and so the only appropriate place for review is the talk page of the deleting admin and then WP:DRV. Stalwart111 03:04, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, slap me with a fish. My bad. I should've pointed him to WP:Deletion review straight away. However, I very much doubt that the AFD will be overturned. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 03:40, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rent My Vacation Home USA, it cannot be undeleted through this process.  Comment: - this has not been deleted, and you are welcome to edit it and re-submit. What it needs is references to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources to establish WP:Notability.
Tip: to make a link to another article, you don't need to repeat the word, e.g. [[Connecticut Connecticut]], just [[Connecticut]] is enough, producing a link like Connecticut. See WP:Wikilink for details, but also read WP:Overlink - don't overdo it. JohnCD (talk) 13:31, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dave Considine

The article was deleted through PROD and would like to request that it be undeleted, I believe he is more than notable and I would like to update the page with accurate up to date information, links ect. One can find references page after page on the net about religious demonologist (Dave Considine) by googling you can find dozens of articles about him, his work and research, book / magazine interviews and radio interviews of him, feature film & multiple documentary film work ect. Thank you -64.252.133.118 (talk) 23:25, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. I will notify user GiantSnowman (talk), who proposed it, and who may choose to nominate it at WP:Articles for deletion, which would start a debate lasting seven days, to which you would be welcome to contribute. Ayaan Chawla

I wanted to create Ayaan Chawla article and I have discussed with Mark Arsten who deleted this Ayaan Chawla article and wanted me to add this request. Reply As Soon As Possible. AdamCharles89 (talk) 03:07, 14 October 2013 (UTC) -AdamCharles89 (talk) 03:07, 14 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No, I suggest you post to WP:DRV, which is a different board. Mark Arsten (talk) 03:09, 14 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. This page is only for restoring uncontroversial deletions. As the article was deleted after Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ayaan Chawla, it will not be restored here. You have taken the correct first step by approaching Mark Arsten, the closing administrator; as he told you, the next step is WP:Deletion review. JohnCD (talk) 10:31, 14 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

☒N This page has not yet been deleted. However, since it is clear that you wish to contest the proposed deletion, I have nominated it at WP:Articles for deletion/Naqvi Orientation. That will start a debate, normally lasting seven days, to which you are welcome to contribute, but please read WP:DISCUSSAFD first. JohnCD (talk) 09:37, 15 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Paris Lees

Article was deleted due to WP:A1 (insufficient context to identify article subject). I suspect it was talking about this Paris Lees, about whom I'm planning on writing an article. I'd like the article userfied so I can double-check it's about the same person, fix it up, then move it into article space. -—me_and 11:56, 15 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

☒N Not Done. There was NO content here beyond the title and the boilerplate from the article creation wizard. There is nothing at all worth restoring. The creator apparently started the creation wizard, entered the title, and clicked save without entering any further information. DES (talk) 12:59, 15 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OTRS 2013092210007036 raised with an offer to release copyright - I would like to see the image page for additional verification before confirming. This does not preclude speedy deleting if verification fails or if unsuitable for other (non-copyright) reasons. - (talk) 13:25, 15 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Done. I have reset the clock on the di-no-permission tag. You can replace it with the OTRS permission or leave it to expire, as you choose. JohnCD (talk) 19:03, 15 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

User:AndrewPierre

i don't have any intention of promoting certain party. I was assigned by my lecturer to create a wiki page about an agency. if the content turned to be too "promoting", i am really sorry. however, i follow the format from several similar page which turn out to be fine. I will try to make another one, and if it still contain promotional content please leave it, at least until my lecturer grade it, after that I'll delete it my self. aside from that, can somebody please tell me where did i go wrong? and if possible could I retrieve the content. it would means a lot to me if someone can help me. -AndrewPierre (talk) 14:29, 16 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
