Speedy deletion nomination of Max de Rosee

Hello Arthistorian1977, I am still working on the Max de Rosee page and have used the information from the De Rosee Sa architects website for a short CV. Please can you let me know which bits you think are promotional and I will consider rewriting them, although I had tried to keep to short facts in the first instance. Many thanks Thedoubleunit2016 (talk) 14:31, 5 September 2016 (UTC)Thedoubleunit2016[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Omar Albertto

Hello Arthistorian1977, thank you for writing me the note. I was really just getting started on the Omar Albertto page and had no intention of leaving it as incomplete as it is at the moment. Mr. Albertto was instrumental in introducing the 'real people' style of model in the late 80's that absolutely revolutionized the industry, the original GAP ads that Herb Ritts shot most of were largely influenced by his contribution to the modeling world. They even used him in one of the ads as a cameo to illustrate this. He was also Tyrese's first agent who introduced him to Hollywood, now he is starring in one of the biggest box-office movie franchises in history, The Fast And The Furious. Please reconsider the deletion. Much appreciation and have a good day. Maxadamia (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 15:24, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for editing Johny ML page and need help in Prof. R. Nandakumar page

Thank you for editing Johny ML page. Appreciate your efforts. I have a challenge with this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:R_Nandakumar R. Nandakumar has received prestigious awards from the Government of India and Kerala and his works have been extensively referred by National and International authors and writers. However, he has very limited online reference. I came across his information from a research library and did quite a lot of ground work to bring out this extensive page - but it is being rejected again and again. Need help in this, actually do not know how to proceed from here. Any support or guidance will be appreciated. Thank you. Tirutirutiru (talk) 10:56, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Government of Jefferson

Im sorry but I don't understand how it is a a duplicate it's not even close to being a duplicate it's barely a duplicate. Im just adding the stuff that the website and the State of Jefferson says will happen if they are allowed to become the 51st state. So you must have been mistaken because it's not close if it was it would be everything or almost everything there from Jefferson (proposed Pacific state) so get back to me as fast as possible because your mistaken. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheHistoryKnower (talkcontribs) 08:22, 1 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Kettle and Fire

Hi there, thanks for your note. Which lines specifically do you feel are promotional? What I find interesting about the business is that it is first-of-its-kind (shelf stable) and the founder has received notable awards. Is there a better way to phrase some of the claims or facts? --Ryanckulp (talk —Preceding undated comment added 06:51, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Speedy deletion nomination of Sayed Zulfikar Bukhari

I think that your suggestion that this be deleted is erroneous for a number of reasons. Please reconsider in view of the subject's political links. While this may not be significant to you, it is of key importance to the 200 million people who are directly affected by Pakistan's political landscape as well as those beyond it. It is also significant from the perspective of the milieu in which the subject operates - about which all too few coherent sources are available. The piece is adequately referenced with source material from publications both in the UK and in Pakistan. These are sources of record (The Wall Street Journal, The Daily Mail, The Sunday Times). The information is addressed factually and in terms of the business interests mentioned, other similar pages already exist (such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_and_Nick_Candy, for example). Given the subject's political importance, I respectfully request that the deletion nomination be removed. Suburb 77 (talk) 08:30, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Speedy deletion nomination of Gay European Tourism Association

Hey i don't think it is to promotional. Its FAR less promotional than the (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Gay_and_Lesbian_Travel_Association) IGLTA, which is the equivalent. I think it's purely a description of a trade association. --Rajsolanki7119 (talk) 12:28, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Vardi kahana requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Bazj (talk) 10:31, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You need to add some references to the article to make your claims "credible". This is doubly important for biographies of living people. If you go to preferences (link at the top of the page), then gadgets, and turn on ProveIt you'll find it a lot easier to add references. Bazj (talk) 11:11, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Arthistorian1977. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Vardi Kahana, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:48, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. There are three issues with this article: Firstly you can't unfortunately simply translate an article from another Wiki without including the attribution on the talk page, after all, the article was someone else's work. Secondly the article is totally unsourced and that is almost a reason for an immediate deletion for a BLP on en.Wiki. We are very strict here about sources for BLPs - far stricter than other Wikipedias. Finally, it appears that she is notable for only one thing: winning an award, and that award on its own is not enough. On Wikipedia being famous does not necessarily equate to being notable. What we need here are multiple, independent, reliable sources such as articles about her in the established press. For more information please see WP:CREATIVE. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 12:20, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Tamír Triad has been reverted.
Your edit here to Tamír Triad was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://coolingpearls.wordpress.com/2009/10/28/the-tamir-triad-by-lynn-flewelling/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Talkback

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Society_&_Culture/Herzliyamuse.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Replaceable fair use File:Sajan Prakash.jpeg

Thanks for uploading File:Sajan Prakash.jpeg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 17:06, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Society_&_Culture/Herzliyamuse.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Proposed deletion of Glimpses: A Collection of Nightrunner Short Stories

The article Glimpses: A Collection of Nightrunner Short Stories has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No secondary sources, just a library database entry and a LiveJournal. Fails WP:NBOOK.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Johann Paul Keller

Thanks for your message. I see your point, I thought that there we enough references on Wikipedia to his work that makes the stub relevant enough. speedy A1; vandalism

A1, no context , is only for use when it is impossible to identify the subject of the article. I therefore removed your nomination of Cold War Tensions and the Polio Vaccine, because it's clearly about polio vaccine. However, it probably does duplicate content in other articles, and hat needs to be checked. DGG ( talk ) 15:03, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Tayub naveed is not vandalism. Adding an article on a non-notableperson, even for the second time, is not an attempt to damage the encyclopedia. Vandalism is a very strong word, and should not be used except for more serious cases.

Please re-read carefully WP:CSD--the various criteria are interpreted narrowly. DGG ( talk ) 15:18, 25 March 2015 (UTC) DGG ( talk ) 15:18, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Ivan Buyan

I would like to discuss remove a page dedicated to Ivan Buyan. He is one of the most famous Ukrainian rappers, his concerts were held in every major city in Ukraine and Belarus and Russia. His latest video gained more than 100,000 views on YouTube. There are articles about him in Ukrainian and Belarusian Wikipedia and it's very important. In addition to all this he appeared several times on television. I think that's enough of it to an article in the Wiki. I have created this article a few hours ago and have not had time to fill it completely. --Ukrainebestintheworld (talk) 14:09, 19 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Edit page Ivan Buyan

Fully edited page, added the city where he performed and proof of the veracity these performances. I think that this information is sufficient. In addition, we must remember that the development of hip-hop in different countries is not the same. For Ukraine 100,000 views and statements in the CIS countries is already significant level. I hope for understanding and the fact that you will not remove my article. --Ukrainebestintheworld (talk) 16:13, 19 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

do not delete omniocracy

I was invited years ago by one of the major editors at Wikipedia to create a page for the term omniocracy. I did not do it then because I did not think there were enough references to include with the article. Now it has been discussed at length in 4 books. Two of the books came out in 2015. The term omniocracy is used at animal rights conferences, in speeches and in books. It makes a significant contribution to world knowledge. It should not be deleted. I can make the article longer if you want, but I was hoping someone else would want to add some paragraphs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lauracaluncle (talkcontribs) 21:11, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I've removed your speedy deletion tag from Omniocracy. I agree that its a neologism and likely not an article that will be kept in the long run but it does not qualify for speedy deletion. Each of the speedy deletion criteria are narrowly defined and only pages meeting those criteria qualify to be speedily deleted. CSD A1 is for articles that are very short and provide so little context that you can't figure out what its supposed to be about. While not great, the Omniocracy article does provide significant context, including who coined the phrase and where it was used.

Check out WP:PROD and WP:AFD for other ways to request article deletion when they don't qualify for speedy deletion. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. --NickContact/Contribs 21:20, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

New pages patrol

Hello Arthistorian1977

Thanks for patrolling new pages. Wikipedia appreciates your help. However, am aware that you often wrongly tag articles for speedy deletion such as this one you tagged as Vandalism or hoax. The article is actually not vandalism or hoax, its about one of our new editor, Nequi (talk · contribs) who is probably not notable. While we encourage editors to patrol new pages, we usually frown on wrong tagging and nomination of articles for speedy deletion. I suggest that you should slow down a bit in tagging pages for speedy deletion until you are more familiar with WP:CSD. Thanks! Wikigyt@lk to M£ 06:03, 26 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Wikicology, thank you for your suggestion. I would not say "often", while you mention only one article. Also, this one specific was clearly candidate for speedy deletion and it was clearly looking as a usual hoax teenagers post on Wikipedia. Regards Arthistorian1977 (talk) 06:27, 26 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The article, Rakhee Kapoor Tandon that you tagged for speedy deletion per A7 is clearly notable. Asadulla pasha that you tagged for speedy deletion per G11 is not eligible for that criterion as well because G11 does not applies to minor promotional wording. I noticed this ones because I'm aware of them. There are others I may not be aware of. The fact that an article is a candidate for speedy deletion does not mean it should be deleted under any criteria for speedy deletion. Deleting pages with the appropriate criterion does not only help the article creator to know the exact reasons why their page got deleted but also enhance the justification of such deletion. Wikigyt@lk to M£ 06:59, 26 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I would allow myself not to agree with you. The fact that the person is a daughter if an prominent businessman and a blogger does not support a notability claim. As well as with Asadulla pasha, the original article was heavy promotional and Speedy Deletion criteria defines this as "Pages that are exclusively promotional, and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to become encyclopedic" Wikipedia:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion#G11. As we both know, speedy deletion can be contested and in case author misspell the name, which does not allow to find reliable source or wants to rewrite am article to comply with Wikipedia criteria, nothing stops her/him from doing it. At the end, our aim as new pages patrollers is to bring admin attention to the articles we suspect as wrong and the final decision lies with admin. So, I am still not being cleat what is your problem with me. Regards. Arthistorian1977 (talk) 08:20, 26 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You probably do not know how things work here. Do you? Am also puzzled by your last comments that "So, I am still not being cleat what is your problem with me". Wikigyt@lk to M£ 08:31, 26 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Arthistorian1977 . I wrote on the "contest" page of the speedy deletion note but I haven't removed the tag. This article about Mashaba is important especially for South Africans. Many who look up to him for his story of rags to riches in a very harsh climate of Apartheid. He deserves a wikipedia page.

Hello. Let see what other editors have to say. Arthistorian1977 (talk) 18:59, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Australian artists

The information in a plain list without intellectual content is not copyright in the US, but making an article by copypaste is a very poor idea. When you do copy lists, it is very wise to alter the material in some way, such as by changing the sequence or selecting significant items, not reprinting the entirety. You should concentrate on the essentials: Works in major museums (each individual work needs to be cited with a separate reference, preferable to the museum's web site or publication) and significant publications about the artist (mere notices about an exhibition are not significant publications, and each reference needs to be used to document the relevant specific point in the article.) Statements about what the artist is trying to do , if derived from the artist, need to be so indicated, and given a specific published reference. Comments by others about the artist's work need specific documentation from a RS. Gallery publications accompanying an exhibit at a commercial gallery are press releases, not reliable sources. I would normally limit the list of group exhibits to ones of special prestiges, and consider limiting the list of individual ones similarly. Articles constructed the way you have been doing are very vulnerable to deletion. It's up to you to do it better, though it takes considerably longer.

To avoid doubt, it is indeed possible for the gallery to donate the text. But they must not merely permit WP to use it, they must formally donate it according to the detailed requirements of WP:DCM, observing all of the formal steps specified there, which give everyone in the world an irrevocable license to reuse and modify it, even for commercial purposes. A general statement is insufficient. The permission must also be given by someone who is in fact the owner of the copyright. (If they copied it from a statement provided by the artist, the artist probably is the one who owns the copyright) If you are the owner, see the following paragraph about conflict of interest.

Additionally, some of your recent articles seem to be based on material published by the same gallery. If it should be the case that you have some conflict of interest with the gallery, especially a paid conflict of interest as an employee or contractor or paid writer, you must declare it, according to our Terms of Use, particularly with respect to paid contributions without disclosure. This is not optional. The best place to do it is on each article's talk page. DGG ( talk ) 01:42, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

DGG - Well, thank you indeed for a thorough explanation. Those articles are not mine and have no relation to the gallery. I stumbled upon one article of them as new created article. noticed they have more and tried to make them better, mostly by adding independent source for the list of exhibition, since art is my primary interest and most articles I work on are art related. This is the reason I've tried to make author, who is related to the gallery, judging by the name :) to note they are going to be deleted unless they properly release copyrighted materials. So, the explanation goes to Sulliva_strumpf. I've actually tried to reach them about another issue of their article, but the look like ignoring the talk page :( Arthistorian1977 (talk) 06:48, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've copied my advice to the other editor . Since Notability is based on those two factors I've mentioned&, the other parts can be eliminated ,which should solve the problem. if demonstrated can stand on their own. I may go there and simply remove those sections now myself. It's up to you if you think they are important enough to clean up further DGG ( talk ) 06:54, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I think this will be a good idea. Actually you gave some information to think on, since in the articles about Israeli photographers, I've created I've used lists of all their exhibitions. So, I think it would be wise for me to remove those, which does not have any references, but Artist own page. Which actually bring me to the question - if I see the exhibition mentioned on Artist's page and some galleries, which definteley not related one to each other, may I consider it credible. • Hi again, I see that the article is now deleted. Can you explain the rationale? Can you point me to a specific entry in the notability guidelines? Also, I just did the following search in Google News: "Remi Eriksen" "dnv gl" -site:dnvgl.com. So there are currently "About 3,750 results" about him in sources that Google understands as news. Wouldn't this make him notable, even if he wasn't CEO of a multinational organization? In advance thanks for your response. I don't know the guy, so I'm not going to take this personally ;-) Bjornte (talk) 11:17, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This organization has been in existence for 9 years, including a physical museum/gallery located in Fort Myers Fl for almost four years. Most of the activities and files have been hidden, tucked away or lost. We are in the process of tracking down all or at least most of the past activities and creating our virtual presence, under the leadership of Cathy Oerter, Chairwoman of AOTO and widow of the late Al Oerter. We will / are linking to videos, articles, press coverage and other documentation to validate the organization and all of its accomplishments as you - Wikipedia - require. We've started with an Instagram account and last week we created the "Art of The Olympian" YouTube channel that now has a dozen videos including a 30 minute documentary video narrated by 1968 figure skating champion and AOTO artist Peggy Fleming. As well we will be improving our existing website.

The "Art of the Olympians" were given permission to use the USOC Olympic Rings and the word "Olympian", an act protected by congress. We are in the process of becoming an official IOC (International Olympic Committee) recognized organization.

I am one of the founding members. My name is Roald Bradstock, 2 time GB Olympic javelin thrower, former world record holder and current masters world record holder for over 50. I am also nicknamed "The Olympic Picasso" by the media and am now in charge of the Art of the Olympians (AOTO) organization. It is essential that we have a Wikipedia page for this organization.

Update Acision? (or merge with Xura?)

Hi there Arthistorian1977!

I noticed that you recently moved Comverse to Xura and made other related edits. Thank you!

I was wondering if you might be interested in making the appropriate changes to Acision, whose merger with Comverse was part of the reason for renaming? One could merge the two pages, though I think it would be more appropriate to continue to have an Acision page in the past tense that notes the merger, similar to the Comverse Technology page. I defer to your judgment.

I would consider doing it, but I work for Xura (not in marketing or anything, a programmer from the Acision side) which may be a conflict of interest, and in any case you seem to a more experienced Wikipedian than I and would do a better job of it. I did update the Comverse name to Xura on the Comverse Technology page, that seems harmless enough :)

I do think it would be better if it were done by someone who has had no exposure to internal company communications... but if you have any questions - perhaps you're looking for citations or something - I'll be glad to help as much as is appropriate. I don't check Wikipedia very often, so feel free to reach out at my personal email, which is found on my user page.

Thank you!

Hi,

I have removed the promotional content on this article, because of your request. It's just now the article is incredibly bare, just one sentence. Do you have any suggestions of how I might write it so it is not promotional and encyclopaedic? I do not know an awful lot about x10hosting, except what I have gathered from using it. I felt x10hosting deserved an article as it's been around over 10 years and the Comparison of free web hosting services article required an x10hosting article in order for me to add it to the table there. Btw, I hope this doesn't come across as personal, I thought someone would see that article as promotional, just didn't think it would be enough to warrant a deletion.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Information icon Hello Arthistorian1977. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1), content (CSD A3),or significance (CSD A7) moments after they are created, as you did at Indian Birds. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks.Template:Z149.

Well, it's hard to say that 30 minutes are moments after page is created and as I mentioned on article's talk page, I did search for sources. You mentioned credible sources, when you've removed my speedy deletion template, but when I look at the article, I see only links to magazine itself or some blog. It hard to believe that such esteemed science magazine, existing for 11 years does not have any mention somewhere. So, I will allow to myself not to be convinced yet. Hi Arthistorian1977. I noticed from your user page that you are in Category:User ru-N. Would you take a look at the sources for Draft:Alex Gilbert at this list of sources by DmitryPopovRU at User talk:Cunard#Alex Gilbert and determine whether they provide substantial coverage of the subject and establish notability?

Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2015 August 24#Alex Gilbert was closed as "deletion endorsed". A subsequent DRV at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2015 October 29#Draft:Alex Gilbert was closed as "No consensus to allow recreation. Please don't renominate unless something significant changes." The DRVs didn't have enough fluent Russian speakers to evaluate the sources so no clear consensus was reached. Thank you, Cunard (talk) 05:23, 3 December 2015 (UTC) @Cunard: Hi. I've red thru the links mentioned. They are all related only to the story of finding his parents in Russia and helping other children to find, but this activity is only briefly mentioned without significant coverage of it. I didn't find anything related to any other activity. Hence, my assumption, after reading Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2015 August 24#Alex Gilbert and Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2015 October 29#Draft:Alex Gilbert, it's an additional argument not to recreate the article. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Draft:Kurt Warnekros, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://zagria.blogspot.com/2011/12/kurt-warnekros-1882-1949-gynecologist.html.

It is possible that the bot was mistaken and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Regarding article - Sridhar

Sir,

I had created two pages today accidentally for Cinematographer sridhar .

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sridhar https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sridhar Cinematographer

These pages were deleted since I wrote the trademarks and personal quotes on the wiki page, which i had already posted on his IMDB profile ( check Imdb Profile link below ).

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm7819649/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cr4

I checked several wiki pages so that i comply with the rules. Now that I have removed removed all the content I had already posted on IMDB related to his personal quotes and trademarks and have also created a subpage for you to review and advise me of any corrections.

Subpage link : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Thekeenwatcher/Subpage_Sridhar

Bottom line .. I want to follow the rules and policies following your guidelines .. Please help me ..

Hello Hamdan Munir, the tags put to your articles are not Speedy Deletion. The tags give you a grace period of seven days to provide verified references that support claim of notability. if you continue to remove the tags, you may be considered vandal and be blocked. Arthistorian1977 (talk) 11:09, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Wait guys, I think there is a misunderstanding (but maybe I am wrong). WP:PROD says:
PROD must only be used if no opposition to the deletion is expected. It must never be used simultaneously with an AfD, and it may only be placed on an article a single time. Any editor (including the article's creator) may object to the deletion by simply removing the tag; this action permanently cancels the proposed deletion via PROD.
So I think that Hamdan Munir is allowed to remove the PROD tag, to indicate that Hamdan Munir believes the article should not be deleted, and then Arthistorian1977 has to start a AfD discussion if Arthistorian1977 still believes the article should be deleted. Please check if I am correct. @Hamdan Munir: Please do not lie in your editsummaries, like you did here. Thanks in advance, The Quixotic Potato (talk) 19:31, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Articles for deletion

Thank you Arthistorian1977 for nominating the Karaylar page for deletion. I wholeheartedly agree, as well as the Turkic Karaite page which I already nominated for deletion since it fits the speedy deletion criteria, but was sadly contested by a user [1] who seems to really want nothing to do with it. It seems to me that these are two controvercial and marginally used titles that wikipedia could really do much better off without. Were it not for the ongoing discussions at Talk:Crimean Karaites and Talk:Keraites I would have nominated it for deletion myself. Turing it into a disambiguation is something of a compromise to appease other users. YuHuw (talk) 07:41, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I found the article you mean. So, construction like "Permanent representative of the Catalan Government before the EU" is not quite English. So, I think article will need some cleanup. Arthistorian1977 (talk) 20:33, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Just a quick FYI - I declined the speedy you placed on this article, since it seemed likely that the subject was notable. There are multiple books hits from his published work in particle physics, as well as references citing his work as a basis for groundbreaking projects in the 70's and 80's. There's also prominent obituaries, including one from CERN itself, that indicate some level of notability. I've added a lead and refs, though there are more to be added and some work yet to be done. Seems pretty clear that we have a new editor who didn't know what was what - I'll leave them a message as well. Thanks. UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 21:18, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Removed a speedy

Hi, I removed a speedy deletion tag you placed on GI Flybike under A7. I don't think this fits because the references show that there's at least a "credible claim of significance". A7 doesn't have anything to do with notability, as notability is a much higher criterion. However, Wikipedia processes are set up such that A7 is really only used for cases that would result in a deletion on WP:AFD unanimously. So I think it'd be best to give the author some time (based on my search there's still sources out there), and if it still doesn't meet notability and the author hasn't worked on it for a while, then it may be worth discussing whether the article should be included on Wikipedia.

I should note my general philosophy is that it's much better to have a few more articles on Wikipedia for a little longer, give the author time to write everything, and then determine whether it really doesn't fit Wikipedia and couldn't be made to. Then I think it's best to go through AFD. I dislike the CSD process used in general situations just because that's really designed to keep Wikipedia clean of copyright violation and hoaxes and unverifiable articles. Expanding those any more generally compromises the consensus-based approach that's all over Wikipedia.

Anyway, that's somewhat of a justification of that removal of the tag. Appable (talk) 20:13, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion as no content

Hi. I don't think this article (relevant diff) would be considered "no content" since it does contain some content. The content is clearly not worth including on Wikipedia, but I don't believe speedy deletion under no content is the correct reason. Appable (talk) 17:03, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy-deletion of Gran Melia Ghoo

Hello friend,

Thank you for your message on my Talk page. I hereby want to reply to the message you posted on my talk-page, regarding Gran Meliá Ghoo. I'm an avid contributor to Wiktionary, but this has been my first ever contribution to Wikipedia. I believe the article is important 'enough' to be worthy of having its own Wikipedia entry. This is one of the largest luxury developments in Iran. I have travelled around the world, and while googling a destination, it is not that strange to find out that some shopping mall in Thailand might have its own Wikipedia entry.

This project carries even more weight as it is a large project containing a new luxury hotel, two residential buildings, and a shopping mall. Donal Trump has a Wikipedia entry for every building he develops, even if are relatively insignificant. Furthermore, there are other Hotels in Iran, see this page for example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Hotels_in_Tehran. I think the page for Gran Melia Ghoo fits well.

If you still believe it does not deserve a place in Wikipedia, I welcome your arguments on my user page. Thank you for your time. Amin wordie (talk) 07:03, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Need help creating pages - Darren Rhodes, Daniel Lacerda and Yogananth

Hi Arthistorian1977,

Glad to see you are passionate about art! So am I.

I am a new Wikipedian, and as such, I have been very discouraged when the page I created for Darren Rhodes has been nominated for speedy deletion and then deleted.

I have messaged SwisterTwister editor, who have reviewed a bunch of my pages. I got no reply, so I went ahead and posted the page for Darren Rhodes.

Please take a look at Dharma Mittra page and explain why Darren Rhodes page I created has been deleted? Are they not both yoga authors and owners of yoga studios in the US?

Here is the message I sent to SwisterTwister:

"Thank you very much for reviewing my pages, I really appreciate it.

I have been creating pages for several yoga poses and plan on continuing to do so, first according to the List of asanas page, and then expanding beyond that as well. I am very passionate about yoga poses and this is a fun and important project for me.

I wanted to introduce a few books that feature yoga poses I'm writing about, since I feel it might help the Wikipedia readers expand their understanding of the poses.

I keep referencing the same 5 books, which I have in my library. I noticed that only one of the authors of these books has a Wikipedia page: Dharma Mittra.

I'd like to create the pages for the following authors, and I thought I'd run it by you to get your feedback, since I am new to Wikipedia and you have been very helpful and encouraging.

1. Darren Rhodes

I saw it was reverted before I had a chance to answer you - it is not our policy, at present, to note all the artists with works in our collections. By doing so in this article you are ignoring that this same statement can be said for all these artists here and in such showing favoritism - or so I feel. This is not an exact science. Instead, what we have done for all the artist we work on, we add a link to items that are online from our collection created by the artist see larry Abramson for example using this template. Take care Drkup(IMJ) (talk) 14:47, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Drkup(IMJ). I am a bit confused by the answer, since I am really not getting it :) I come across the article as a review and as en editor noticed her works are part of IMJ collection which I reflected in the article. I don't see any sign of favoritism in it. Arthistorian1977 (talk) 15:26, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Nour Machlah

Dear Arthistorian1977

The article is talking about a public figure, A Syrian young man who ran away from the war in his country and became a public speaker talking about many topics specially the migration and refugees crisis. Nour has been doing a lot of conferences all around Europe at universities, schools, and governments institutions. also he is trying to show the importance of the youth role to face the challenges of our days. Turkey, Portugal, Spain, Romania and recently France where his speech there went public with Millions of views from all around the world. Nour is trying to pass the message of Millions of immigrants and refugees not only the Syrian ones, and he trying to build bridges between those people and the new communities where they had to move for. The article will be edited soon with more details about his work, with links for the videos and photos. You can google the name "Nour Machlah" and you will see some of the work he has done. This page should not be speedily deleted because similar articles exist for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and for 2012 GOP nominee, Mitt Romney (Planned presidential transition of Donald Trump and Planned presidential transition of Mitt Romney). In the interests of impartiality and balanced coverage, it is only right that a similar article be created regarding arrangements for Clinton's own Presidential transition. Ahmad Abughaush Page

The difference between your edit and mine is you are using the word "relocated" and I use the word "expelled". My word has a complete Wikipedia page with all the possible point of views, while your word has no reference at all. Moreover, I have provided the report "The Palestinians. Minority Rights Group" which is used in many other pages as a reference for the Palestinian exodus.38.130.106.156 (talk) 22:04, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Relocated is a neutral word, when we don't know the exact events that led to Ahmad Abughaush parents moving to Amman. Expelled means forcefully removed from their home, which does not have any verifiable source. Also, exact date is not know when they moved to Amman. Hence, please, stop adding information that can't be checked. There are a lot families who left before the Palestinian exodus, there are families who left on their own will and there are those who were expelled. So, and I am repeating myself here, unless there is a proper verified source, this information is unsourced and hence does not belong to the article. You say here "Since there are some references it can't be PROD". You may be thinking of WP:BLP PROD, which is for living people with no references or sources. New deal for page patrollers

Hi Arthistorian1977,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:28, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Review - newsletter

Hello Arthistorian1977,
Breaking the back of the backlog
We now have 799 New Page Reviewers! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog. Now it's time for action.
Mid July to 01 Oct 2016

If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.

Second set of eyes

Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.

Magnus Böcker

Hi. I saw that you nominated Magnus Böcker for speedy deletion on the grounds that the article did not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject. The article claimed that he was CEO of the Singapore Exchange and president of NASDAQ. Those alone are clear claims to significance (a lower standard than notability), so I think the nomination was inappropriate and have removed the template. Information icon Hi, Arthistorian1977. Thanks for your work on patrolling new pages. I've declined your deletion request for Sheikh Badin, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, under criterion A7 because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. The topic of the article is out of A7's scope Please take a moment to look at the suggested tasks for patrollers, criteria for speedy deletion, and particularly, the section covering non-criteria. Such pages are best tagged with proposed deletion or proposed deletion for biographies of living persons, or sent to the appropriate deletion discussion. Thanks! Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

A7 on Thorgate

Hello Arthistorian1977. Speedy deletion work is important and I do appreciate the effort. I would just ask that you please review the criteria carefully because accuracy is also important. On that issue, I have declined your speedy deletion nomination of Thorgate as an article that does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the topic under CSD A7. That criterion did not apply because being a major company in its field is a credible indication of "importance or significance". Remember that CSD A7 is a lower standard than what is required to demonstrate notability – it does not, for example, require that the article's text already contain citations to reliable sources that would be necessary to prove notability, but only that it contain a claim that, were it true, might reasonably make the subject a valid encyclopedia topic (if proper sourcing could later be found).Template:Z158 Adam9007 (talk) 21:40, 11 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Julie Thompson Klein PROD

Hi, thanks for all the contributions. I have added a citation to the AACU website. Also, a list of publications by the topic. What else could I do to help the process? The genesis of this article was my work on the Meditations article. That led me to Friedrich August Wolf, which led me to several broken links to Julie Thompson Klein.

To me, she appears to satisfy notability. Was I wrong? I would appreciate any feedback. I have no horse in this race. I only want to be a good member of the community. Informata ob Iniquitatum (talk) 22:34, 21 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Review - newsletter No.2

Hello Arthistorian1977,
A HUGE backlog

We now have 799 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.

Hitting 17,000 soon

The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.

Second set of eyes

Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.

Abuse

This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and

  1. this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
  2. this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
  3. This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.

Coordinator election

Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

Voting for coordinators has now begun HERE and will continue through/to 23:59 UTC Monday 06 March. Please be sure to vote. Any registered, confirmed editor can vote. Nominations are now closed.

Still a MASSIVE backlog

We now have 799 New Page Reviewers but despite numerous appeals for help, the backlog has NOT been significantly reduced.
If you asked for the New Page Reviewer right, please consider investing a bit of time - every little helps preventing spam and trash entering the mainspace and Google when the 'NO_INDEX' tags expire.

Discuss this newsletter here. If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself from the mailing list. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 15:35, 21 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Verz Design

Hello Arthistorian1977. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Verz Design, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Article claims coverage in reliable sources. Thank you. SoWhy 13:14, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, User:Arthistorian1977/sandbox
