Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College (MSEC) (Tamil:மீனாட்சி சுந்தரராஜன் பொறியியல் கல்லூரி) is an engineering college in Kodambakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.[1]

History[edit]

The Engineering College was founded in 2001 by Professor K.R.Sundararajan.[2]

Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College is a part of the prestigious KRS Group of Institutions which also includes the renowned IIET (Indian Institute of Technical Education, est. 1947), the well-known Meenakshi College for Women and the recently established Meenakshi Sundararajan School of Management, all under-graduate and post-graduate education in the fields of Engineering, Arts, Science, Commerce and Management.

The College is now having its own building adjacent to the Meenakshi College for Women in the KRS Educational Campus. This is a three storeyed building (with a foundation to hold six storeys) in a total area of 83000 s.ft. having all infrastructure facilities such as a vast and spacious library, a total of 10 labs for Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science and 15 class rooms. There are two air- conditioned seminar halls and an air - conditioned conference hall both with pantry facilities.

The civil engineering block with a total area of 27,000 sq.ft. is having Strength of Material Lab, Fluid Machanics Lab, Soil Engineering Lab, Survey Lab, Computer Lab, and six class rooms. The facilities in the KRS Educational Campus such as Meenakshi Sundararajan Auditorium, KRS Auditorium, seminar halls, Cricket ground, Tennis Court.[3]

Every year students participate in various sports activities like cricket, basket ball, Foot ball, carrom, badminton etc within and outside premises, one of the salient features of which is students of civil engineering department won basket ball match in Anna University.
