Revision as of 17:49, 23 December 2015

Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

Current requests for increase in protection level

Place requests for new or upgrading pending changes, semi-protection, full protection, move protection, create protection, template editor protection, or upload protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

    Jerk

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Vandalism never stops. Word for an unintelligible person (as in "You are a jerk!") has spawned vandalism on this page. Disambiguation page needn't be edited so often. . Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 00:37, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Plus a bit of vandalism being suppressed for grossly insulting, degrading or offensive material. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 00:38, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Many logs for suppression by reason of RD2, which is further evidence of long-term vandalism. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 00:39, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Semi-protected for a period of 1 year, after which the page will be automatically unprotected.--Ymblanter (talk) 14:47, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    Bankstown railway line

Temporary pending changes: Anonymous user using multiple IPs continuously adding incorrect information with no justification. I've been attempting to revert the changes but my edits are undone soon after. The edit history of one of the IPs shows similar unsourced and politically charged edits have been made to other infrastructure pages. The page is otherwise infrequently edited with few contributions by anonymous users. Strata8 (talk) 00:37, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Declined. For me, it looks like content dispute. If the IP edits are vandalism, pls try WP:AIV with arguments why this is vandalism. The talk page of the article is currently empty.--Ymblanter (talk) 14:49, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    Brussels Airlines

Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – I'm insisting with this request that has been denied recently. The dispute about content keeps going through edit summaries and not via the talk page. Jetstreamer Talk 02:13, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    • Automated comment: A request for protection/unprotection for one or more pages in this request was recently made, and was denied at some point within the last 8 days.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 02:27, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Note: I tend to agree with MusikAnimal's decline as no one has used the talk page. NeilN talk to me 03:08, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    Ivanka Trump

Indefinite pending changes: Persistent vandalism – As long as Donald Trump is running, this will come under attack, and it does so too, almost daily. Perhaps a PC can be added to protect the "editors" from getting headaches when they are forced to undo the garbaaj. FreeatlastChitchat (talk) 03:47, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Pending-changes protected for a period of 1 month, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. MusikAnimal talk 16:47, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    Yoda

Temporary pending changes: Persistent vandalism – Good faith or not, edits have been reverted. George Ho (talk) 06:15, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of 1 week, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Edit rate climbing, and likely won't slow down. Vandalism vs the few good-faith edits just meets the threshold for semi in my book MusikAnimal talk 16:45, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    Blush (band)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent removal of sourced information which is being replaced by information that has no sources, the perpetrator in the past has been warned for their actions however communicating with the user fails to make any progress. I have warned them again just then. (124.176.147.122 (talk) 06:40, 23 December 2015 (UTC))[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of 4 days, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. MusikAnimal talk 16:48, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    LGBT in Islam

Temporary protection: Persistent vandalism. Serols (talk) 12:08, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    User(s) blocked. BethNaught (talk) 12:49, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    The Bold and the Beautiful

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Continued vandalism and disruptive editing from sock puppetry IP-hopper, who has been blocked from Wikipedia on multiple occasions, for multiple years. livelikemusic my talk page! 13:35, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of 2 months, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. MusikAnimal talk 16:49, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    Happy New Year (2014 film)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Page is subjected with IP edits. Have a look [1], [2], [3] and [4]. Cast name change, box office records are been vandalised. So better get good protected. D'SuperHero (talk) 13:36, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

In addition, i had requested an indefinite protection just because despite being protected a number of times, still disruptive edits happening on this page. D'SuperHero (talk) 13:38, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Semi-protected for a period of 1 month, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Resurgence of disruption appears to be limited to the past month or so MusikAnimal talk 16:53, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent changes that add deliberate factual errors, unsourced content, and/or vandalism. The article is also vulnerable to rumors that are circulating during the off-season. – Nascar1996 (talkcont) 14:35, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    User:Zhaofeng Li/public key

Indefinite full protection: This page contains my PGP public key which seldom changes. Please check the page history to confirm that the last edit is performed by me before applying the protection. I understand that I will not be able to edit this page once it's protected. Thank you for your time. Zhaofeng Li talk (Please {{Ping}} when replying) 14:42, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    • Automated comment: One or more pages in this request appear to already be protected. Please confirm.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 15:44, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    Hands to Myself

Temporary pending changes: Persistent vandalism – Page is already semi-protected. Vandal persistently adding false release dates despite being reverted several times by several different editors. Abi-Maria (talk) 15:31, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    Revival (Selena Gomez album)

Temporary pending changes: Persistent vandalism – Page is already semi-protected. Same vandal from Hands to Myself persistently adding false release dates despite being reverted by several editors and warned several times. Abi-Maria (talk) 15:38, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    Blue Is the Warmest Colour

    Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing.

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. MusikAnimal talk 16:48, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    El Clásico

Repeating vandalism and conflicts on this page ! Check the history ... all the time this happening - I propuse to be permanent blocked and to be edited just by registred users ! It is not possible - instead of create more and edit more on Wikipedia (I lose time reverting vandalism - or other people who revert it)--Alexiulian25 (talk) 16:58, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    James McClean

Semi-protection: High level of IP vandalism, usually of a sectarian nature. '''tAD''' (talk) 17:00, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Current requests for reduction in protection level

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Fuck (disambiguation), Maddox (writer), Ronald McDonald

Unprotection: Infrequent edits on selected articles. Pickuptha'Musket (talk) 14:04, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Note: Pickuptha'Musket, the protecting admins on all these articles are still active. You need to ask them first, please. NeilN talk to me 21:02, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ged UK, with this Ronald McDonald stuff, is it okay for unprotection? Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 22:55, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
WhisperToMe, okay for unprotection? In my opinion, I would instead go for the pending changes. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 22:55, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I don't want Fuck (disambiguation) to be unprotected or else you may get "fucked" with how much "fucking" high amount of vandalism after the unprotection. Disambiguations aren't meant to be edited often. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 22:55, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    Qwertyxp2000 I'm fine with pending changes! WhisperToMe (talk) 05:10, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Current requests for edits to a protected page

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
