Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Paul Tracy UK (talk | contribs) at 17:35, 15 August 2011 (→‎David Levine Photographer: new section). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions nor to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as CSD G6), or in articles for deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other XfD processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions on the template or on your talk page.

Note that requests for undeletion is not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

I would like to be emailed all of these articles. I was working on them when I was a noob to Wikipedia, and they got removed, as they were previously deleted. I would like to work on them now in my sandbox and try to get them good to go into the main space. Or if you'd rather just put them straight into my sandbox, that would be fine too. User:Ending-start/Sandbox/THE NAME OF THE DELETED ARTICLE. Thanks, -nding·start 04:14, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why is nobody going to do this for me...? nding·start 20:36, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done Probably no one did it before because it is four articles and so four times the work. Being AFD deletions you have an uphill battle to get them back to article space. Anyway I have emailed wikitext and attribution history to you. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:43, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. This page was deleted after a deletion discussion at WP:Articles for deletion/Nick Webb (author) so, as stated at the head of this page, it will not be restored here. If you consider that the discussion was wrongly decided, or you have new information, you should approach user Cirt (talk), the administrator who closed the discussion; then, if your concern is not addressed, you can go to WP:Deletion review. Stormwind (band)

  •  Done While deleted at AFD in 2005, (with the closer saying he counted votes, in those days it was "votes for deletion") a later version was deleted as an "uncontested PROD", I've restored that version. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 13:09, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Leuven Cricket Club

Hi, I am contesting the speedy deletion of Leuven Cricket Club, and request you to restore it kindly. The page is for an official cricket club affiliated to the Belgian Cricket Federation. There is no personal propaganda material there. Just because somebody else had made a not so notable page earlier, does not mean the current page was also bad. I was expecting feedback to improve it and in any case, I see that it is better than many other club pages. Many such club pages already exist on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Lancashire_League_cricket_clubs http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accrington_Cricket_Club http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nelson_Cricket_Club http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Todmorden_Cricket_Club -Davalumni (talk) 13:16, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - As announced at the top of the page, this process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially and has no applicability to articles deleted after any deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Leuven Cricket Club, it cannot be undeleted through this process. Nevertheless, if you believe that the consensus found at the discussion was in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user JohnCD (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:35, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Meghan Chavalier

I am not sure why Meghan Chavalier's Wikipedia page was deleted. She is a very notable person in the world of entertainment having released two published books and multiple cds. She is also widely know for her work in the adult film industry having made over 175 movies and being the first transsexual contract player in that industry. She is also widely known for her activism with the LGBT Community with her Stopping The Hate Organization. I believe she is more than notable for Wikipedia. -98.223.249.86 (talk) 14:55, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dan_Vaillancourt

Dan Vaillancourt is a well-known regional artist. I have a number of news articles to back up this claim and will add them to the Wiki entry if it is restored. In addition, he is the host of a popular online cooking show that has been featured on the front page of YouTube. I request that this page be undeleted. Thank you. -Jheditorials (talk) 16:30, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hall High Chess Team

The Hall High Chess Team is the primier high school chess team in the state of Connecticut and thus certainly merits an article. It was unjustly deleted by an admin who probably knows nothing whatsoever about the topic, and, moreover, doesn't care. -Kiernanmc (talk) 20:19, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:El nacional stadium.jpg

I received the Orphaned non-free image notice in my talk page when the image was removed by an IP user. So I quickly put it back into the article. However, it was quickly removed and replaced by User:Suckermonster and I received a second Orphaned non-free image notice in my talk page. So I proceeded to—again—put the file back into the article but AGAIN User:Suckermonster undid my edit. I don't understand why User:Suckermonster replaced the File:El nacional stadium.jpg with a render of the new stadium when that render was already in a lower section of the article AND the new stadium has already been completed thus making the render obsolete. Had I known the image (El nacional stadium.jpg) was removed a third time, I would've put it back in and asked him why he kept removing it without an explanation. -MicroX (talk) 21:19, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please attempt to resolve the issue with Suckermonster (talk · contribs) first. In general, we can only handle uncontroversial requests here. Such an image can only be restored if we are sure it will be used. Contact me with any questions, Arbitrarily0 (talk) 03:44, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done - now restored per Ron Ritzman and Mtking. If it becomes a problem again, be sure to bring up your reasoning on the article's talk page. Arbitrarily0 (talk) 13:34, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

High Impact Halo

Page was previously deleted as per Wikipedia:WEB in 2006. Page was recreated in 2007 and future creations of the page were blocked. Page should be recreated properly as per Wikipedia:Web noting the valuable historical significance of the website in question. Website in question is notable as per attention from Bungie, Halo.bungie.org, and the attention of over 16 thousand Halo (series) fans (see HIH member list). Page falls under the same situation as Halo.bungie.org, as both sites are extremely similar both in content and in recognition. Encyclopedic documentation for the site is long overdue. -Matortheeternal (talk) 05:32, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. This was deleted after a deletion discussion at WP:Articles for deletion/High Impact Halo so, as stated at the top of this page, it will not be undeleted here. I suggest you make a userspace draft and then approach user Mailer diablo (talk), the admin who closed the discussion; if he does not agree, you can take it to WP:Deletion review. I do not think the versions deleted in 2006 will be any help in making an acceptable article such as you describe. JohnCD (talk) 14:23, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

King Chilla

I wish to have the opportunity to fix the Unsourced BLP problem within the page. Thanks! -King Chilla (talk) 07:14, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

But how will you fix the conflict of interest problem, and the notability problem? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 12:05, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The COI concern is minimal as User:KingChilla has no edits to the deleted article. We solve the problem by allowing any logged in editor who is not the subject and has no connection to the subject to write a new sourced article. As far as the notability issue is concerned, that could be addressed at AFD if such an article is created and if someone elects to nominate it for deletion. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 13:21, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay - understood - thanks. King Chilla (talk) 14:40, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done feel free to properly reference or start an AFD. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:48, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ed Alleyne-Johnson

The article was deleted due to the musician failing to meet the criteria at WP:MUSICBIO (see AfD discussion). However, the musician has had an album on the British music chart and therefore meets the criteria at WP:MUSICBIO.[1] -194.176.105.135 (talk) 11:21, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If that's true then I wouldn't be opposed to allowing the article to be recreated but the version deleted was a poorly sourced BLP. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 13:13, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The link provided above provides the evidence -- you'll need to click "view album". --194.176.105.135 (talk) 13:28, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not done and will not be done As already stated, if a new, properly referenced article is created from scratch, and it meets all requirements for remaining on Wikipedia, it will be evaluated on its merits. The version that was deleted will not be undeleted (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 13:32, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, I misread Ron Ritzman's reply and though he meant if my statement was true he wouldn't mind it being undeleted rather than recreated. There was really no need to be quite so pissy about it. --194.176.105.135 (talk) 14:47, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jeremy_Robinson

Article was originally deleted because "BLP that has been unsourced since 2007. No coverage found other than local news. But there is a lot of coverage for Robinson and his books beyond local news (Booklist, Library Journal, etc). The page just needs to be updated. -Veago87 (talk) 14:55, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done – as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored upon request. I will notify user Michig (talk), who proposed it, in case he wishes to nominate it at WP:Articles for deletion. What the article needs is independent references to establish notability - those on the article are only his website and his publisher's website. (The third, labelled "an interview", just goes back to the publisher's website). JohnCD (talk) 20:37, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:FgwNewcoloursatPAD.jpg

File deleted without reason, I took the picture and as such I own the copyright of this image and as such it is freely available to be used on wiki as per wiki policies, Magog the Ogre has overstepped authority. -Fkmd (talk) 18:51, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done. There was no overstepping of authority. The image's description page didn't mention who the copyright holder was, just a claim that it was licensed freely. If you could, please clarify on the description page that you took the picture yourself to avoid this from happening again in the future. — ξxplicit 19:50, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Er, can we delete this again please? I've undeleted the Commons version, File:London Paddington railway station FGW Mk3.jpg and added the info, so no need for the en version to remain. -mattbuck (Talk) 20:50, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Podcast Beyond

This article is part of the IGN page and I feel that it is a very large topic. Podcast Beyond has grown into a pretty large gaming phenomonon and the page should stay on Wikipedia to inform people about it. -Tortilene1 (talk) 17:38, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not doneThis was deleted in 2010 after a deletion discussion at WP:Articles for deletion/Podcast Beyond for lack of notability, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources, and re-created and deleted again recently. If you think you can find independent sources to show notability, approach the most recent deleting administrator, user Peridon (talk); then, if your concerns are not addressed, you can go to WP:Deletion review. I am requesting this article be reinstated to Wikipedia. The Rebel Legion is an international Star Wars costuming organization created by, of and for people interested in creating costumes from the Star Wars mythos. Persons come here from all over the world to research, create, build and improve costumes in a place where costumers with similar passions share skills, tips and ideas. Jedi, Rebel Pilots, Troopers, Princesses and even Wookiees.... we've got them all. The Rebel Legion first appeared in mid-1999 and in the years since its formation, the group has grown from a few dozen Rebel costumers that talked to each other on the internet, to becoming the premier Rebel costuming group in the Star Wars community. Our membership is constantly increasing, and we have established our own presence in the world. We are recognized by George Lucas and all of his staff as the leading "Star Wars GOOD GUY" costuming organization on the planet. We have

  • 30 Bases in North America & Canada
  • 8 Bases and 1 Outpost in Europe
  • 1 Base and 2 Outpost in South America
  • 2 Bases and 5 Outposts in Asia/Pacific Area

This represents an increase over last year due to the expansion into more areas of the country and the world. While it is not sponsored by Lucasfilm Ltd., Lucasfilm recognizes the Rebel Legion as a premiere volunteer Rebel costuming group. Star Wars, its characters, costumes, and all associated items are the intellectual property of Lucasfilm. Rebel Legion members appear at public venues, such as conventions, parades, fundraisers for charity, visit children’s hospitals, support educational and science centers, as well as a wide variety of other events. Our Mission is to bring Star Wars costume enthusiasts together by giving them a collective realm in which to operate. To promote the quality and improvement of Star Wars Costumes, and to follow the lead of Lucasfilm Ltd. By giving back to the community through charity work and volunteerism. We value each member regardless of gender, race, religion, creed, sexual orientation, nationality, or physical handicap. We also value the goals set down by LFL by giving all we can to the community. We have been recognized frequently in the Star Wars Newletter, "BANTHA TRACKS", have been featured at various functions including STAR WARS WEEKENDS at Disney, and have worked with Lucas and his staff on multiple conventions to make sure that the persons attending have a memorable experience. We are not the 501st and even though we work closely with our sister organization, we are a separate entity altogether.

If the reasons above arent enough reason to have the REBEL LEGION reinstated to WIKIPEDIA, please feel free to contact me personally and I will give you more infomration considering I am one of the Base Executive Officers for Virginia and West Virginia and the Merchandising Officer for the entire Rebel Legion.

Not done - article was deleted after an AfD discussion that, though it had only 4 participants, extended over most of the month of May. This followed up on one proposed deletion that was undone as a refund after it had expired and been deleted. There's been plenty of time and opportunity given to show that this niche business could be shown notable in sources. It was not. - Smerdis of Tlön - killing the human spirit since 2003! 04:06, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I was the person who proposed this article for deletion and I endorse the userification of the article for this purpose. --Nat Gertler (talk) 17:06, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

cloud engineering

This is an emerging discipline, and there are growing interest and discussions in the industry about this important practice. There are discussion forum and user group establisehd for this, and more research and development are under way that are exchanged and published in the key cloud conferences. Cloud engineering is a critical branch of cloud computing.

Please undelete the article, and advise what further changes should be done. We are working hard to improve this entry as we have planned to add the "cloud engineer" professional skillset to the article, which has shown up a lot in the job boards.

Just because there are two David Levine's doesn't mean one, the younger should be deleted. His work is on of the 80's defying styles of photography. The Culture club "Karma Chameleon" cover along is Iconic. It seems to me the deletion of David Levine is a personal as my entry meet your standards and was published.

The Culture club "Karma Chameleon" cover along is Iconic. It seems to me the deletion of David Levine is a personal attack on him by who ever asked for thew deletion as my entry meet your standards and was published. David credentials are sound. his work has been published in many magazine including UK Vogue Rolling stone and many many more his images have been on record sleeve in the millions he is the brother of Producer Steve Levine and is still working with many of those including Boy George. -paul tracy (talk) 17:35, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
