Double Decker Express are fully air-conditioned two floor express trains. They have high priority and are considered among fast trains in India.

Formal Routes

Non-AC Double Decker trains

Flying Ranee is the only Non-AC Double Decker Train. The formal train used Double Decker rakes were: [2]

  • Sinhagad Express: First train to have Double Deck rake in India. About ten coaches were attached but were removed eventually.
  • Deccan Queen: Used to haul Double Decker bogies during 1980's but were eventually removed. [3]
  • Deccan Express: One or two Double Deck coaches were added. This did not last for long and the coaches were removed.
  • Sahyadri Express: Hauled Double Decker coaches between Mumbai and Pune and vice versa. But today has Single Decker coaches only.
  • Mumbai - Pune Passenger: This train used to haul Double Decker bogies.
