Do Not Delete Robert Brizel

'Do Not Delete Robert Brizel I am one of Wikipedia's principal boxing writers, photographers and contributors. I get millions of hits each day on my Saddoboxing website. In another smile of WIki stupidity, some dodo deleted my Henry Hascup boxing historian) entry on Wikipedia, citing my own article on my own site as a a copyrighjt infringement of myself! In fact, Wiki was written first, and my Saddoboxing article on Hascup was written thereafter. Many of articles are written specifically to provide Wiki references when no other sources are available......Robert

Sorry Robert, whether or not it is deleted isn't up to me. I only brought up the fact that there were no independent sources on the article. It looks like a lot of people have been sending you links and giving advice on how to show notability so you'd be better off asking for help from them; I'm still pretty new here. Comatmebro (talk) 06:10, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Acknowledged, thanks. Presently my main focus is covering boxing events as a well known boxing reporter, I just don't have more time for Wiki.. I appreciate your kind words, though. Thanks....Robert

Hi, I have added references to Kirayadar and Kaanch Ki Deewar. Please look through it. Torreslfchero (talk) 07:38, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

I tried my best to find the ref for these articles and added only the one I found. It's quite hard to find refs for Indian movies pre 1990. I won't mind the actions you have taken. Torreslfchero (talk) 17:34, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

speedy deletion nomination of Koninklijke Oost- en Westvlaamsche Kring

Hello, I just wanted to let you know that I removed your speedy deletion nomination for Koninklijke Oost- en Westvlaamsche Kring. The article asserts significance, so it is not eligible for speedy deletion. You may still nominate it for deletion through the WP:AFD process if you wish. Cmprince (talk) 16:07, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse season articles

I removed the notability tags you placed on the individual season articles. Splitting up TV program episode lists (such as the List of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episodes) into separate seasons is common and acceptable. For more info about it, see: Template:Episode list/sublist#Sublists. -Dwimble (talk) 17:43, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

How are you?

Hey, you've stopped asking me questions, so I guess you are all good with Wikipedia now! How have you been generally?! Kinkreet~♥moshi moshi♥~ 20:22, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Haha, I'm definitely getting better with Wikipedia but don't get too comfortable because I'm sure I'll come to you with more questions. I've been pretty busy with exams and papers so I haven't been able to edit as much, but I'm gonna start getting after it again soon. Generally, aside from being busy, I've been great! It was nice of you to check in on me. I feel special :) How have you been doing? Have you learned any new cool stuff around here lately? Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 02:37, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
LOL. "exams and papers", sound just like me (when you say paper, do you mean just reading it, or do you mean writing it, what field are you in if you don't mind me asking). I have to read a 13-page paper about Get3, probably make a Wikipedia page on it after. I guess a lot of Wikipedians are busy around this time of year. Otherwise I have been good as well! Just wanted to make sure you're OK, glad you are. Good luck with exams and papers! Kinkreet~♥moshi moshi♥~ 10:45, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
haha, reading and writing unfortunately. I'm currently open to different fields, but my focus is Econ for now. Good to hear you're good. I'm ready to do some more editing. Come at me Wikipedia! Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 01:42, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
I actually do have another question (see I told you I would). I've used the lists with 'all articles needing copyedit' and 'all articles needing to be wikified' to find pages to work on. Do you know if there's a place to find all of those kind of lists; The ones that show of all pages with a certain kind of tag on them? I'd like to look through those because they're a great source for finding pages to fix, and that way I can learn some different ways to contribute too. Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 23:25, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
You looking for something like this? Or more like this? Peace x Kinkreet~♥moshi moshi♥~ 11:11, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
Yes and yes. Those are awesome, thanks! Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 23:57, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

Wikification of Wilton Lackaye

I noticed that you marked that you had Wikified Wilton Lackaye; however, a review of the article shows that the Wikification was incomplete. Particularly the article was missing a large number of Wikilinks that should have been added. Adding Wikilinks is generally the primary aspect of Wikification; although, adding section headings, persondata, infoboxes, and wiki markup are still important. Ryan Vesey Review me! 05:12, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Ah, thanks for the heads up. I normally add wikilinks as part of wikifying but I must have just not noticed the lack of them on this particular page. Probably because it didn't have a ton of content. I'll pay more attention to that on the next ones, thanks. Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 00:37, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

Deprod of The Fire Engines

I have removed your proposed deletion tag from this article because your rationale of "Non-notable myspace band" was, to be frank, ridiculous. Please read up on what proposed deletion is for and our notability guidelines for music topics before making any further deletion nominations. Thanks. --Michig (talk) 07:04, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

That message seems a bit harsh. Whatever happened to wp:AGF? I was focusing mainly on sourcing when I was checking for notability. Out of the 4 sources on the page, 2 were Myspace pages and 1 was a blog. Most of the results from searching the band name were youtube videos or pages that just list the albums. Based on that and the fact that none of the individual band members were notable, I thought it didn’t pass notability guidelines. I didn’t realize that the notability guidelines for music were less strict than others, so I will look over the guideline more closely, but I don’t think it was “ridiculous” to think that band might not be notable. Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 16:42, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
The Fire Engines - a band that had hit albums/singles in 1980/81, with lots of coverage out there (e.g. [1]). Myspace - a website launched in 2003. There was already an Allmusic link in the external links that amply demonstrated that the band passes several of our notability criteria, such as releases on important independent labels, and at least one of the members is individually notable - we just don't have articles on them yet. AGF is all well and good, but we get articles deleted because people make snap judgments on articles, and I pointed this out in the hope that it won't happen again. How any band from the early 1980s can be a 'Myspace band' is beyond me, that's what I found ridiculous. Regards. --Michig (talk) 17:26, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
I made a mistake. I apologize. I always learn from mistakes so you can be assured that it won't happen again. Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 17:30, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Va Vai Va

Hello Comatmebro. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Va Vai Va, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A9 does not apply if the artist has an article. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 04:03, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

OK no problem. That one I was a little confused by because the reference given went to a diff artist than the one listed on the page. I should have just used the A7 tag. Looks like it was made into a redirect anyways which is good. Thanks for letting me know. Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 05:57, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Removed your edit

You added the following, uncited, to the Human rights in Tunisia page on August 10:

The authorities have tight restrictions on freedom of expression, association and assembly, and government critics are harassed, threatened and imprisoned. Former political prisoners are also harassed, intimidated and subject to restrictions. Torture and other ill-treatment in police stations and prisons are reported. People prosecuted under the anti-terrorism law are sentenced to long prison terms after unfair trials. Death sentences are to be imposed, but the government maintains a moratorium on executions.

I found the following in the 2011 Amnesty report:

The authorities maintained tight restrictions on freedom of expression, association and assembly, and government critics continued to be harassed, threatened and imprisoned. Former political prisoners were also harassed, intimidated and subject to restrictions. Torture and other ill-treatment in police stations and prisons were reported. People prosecuted under the anti-terrorism law were sentenced to long prison terms after unfair trials. Death sentences continued to be imposed, but the government maintained a moratorium on executions.

Your addition has been removed.

Please deal with this problem

I've looked through your contributions and they're just loaded with copyright violations. Maybe you weren't aware of what that means, but you need to check this page and the Terms of Use, then fix all of these... if it means deleting them, then fine. I wouldn't do this if it weren't so serious... you add a lot of good things to the encyclopaedia so I'm pretty sure it's just a misunderstanding, but please, fix this problem quickly. PhnomPencil talk contribs 15:46, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

Hey I read through it and for that one above, I certainly see what you mean. As far as it being loaded with violations, is that referring to the plot summaries? I didn't think that was copyright infringement. Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 16:46, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for your quick reply! Yes it is... there's an example of an IMDb Copyvio in here for you to see. Please don’t do template edits beyond your level of competence

You recently added a {{Reflist}} tag to the {{Pussy Riot member}} template (which was not intended to have a reflist) without bothering to check what it would look like on the pages transcluding it (which have their own reflists). While this fixed the error notice when viewing the template directly, it caused style/layout errors on the including pages that induced other editors to remove the reference to this template entirely without checking. Fixing all this took more work than I should have had to do. In the future, please learn what the <noinclude></noinclude> and <includeonly></includeonly> tags do before making edits that require their use.

Opting in to VisualEditor

As you may know, VisualEditor ("Edit beta") is currently available on the English Wikipedia only for registered editors who choose to enable it. Since you have made 100 or more edits with VisualEditor this year, I want to make sure that you know that you can enable VisualEditor (if you haven't already done so) by going to your preferences and choosing the item, "Enable the visual editor. It will be available in the following namespaces: $1". This will give you the option of using VisualEditor on articles and userpages when you want to, and give you the opportunity to spot changes in the interface and suggest improvements. We value your feedback, whether positive or negative, about using VisualEditor, at Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback. Thank you, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 18:23, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

A question

Hello Comatmebro!

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (your reason here) -- (talk) 06:22, 28 January 2014 (UTC) I want to write a page about a person that when I went to the chat room everyone agree he was note worthy. Over the 30+ year Reggie Foutain started a company of his namesake. Has personally won 100s of races. Hold the water off shore speed record for v bottom racing boats (177mph). Is a living legend in the power boat arena and is about to have a 40 year biography released about him. His competitor Don Aranow has a wiki page and he's been dead for over a decade. Google Reggie Fountain articles and you will get over 20 years of news to cite. There are dozens of YouTube interviews and racing clips to support his achievements. Do not because of me being a novice at writing a wiki page delete or discredit a man worth being written about on many topics. Instead of easily dismissing or deleting (lazy way out) why not encourage people that want to contribute actually notable person the correct way to submit, Thank you, Ryteme — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ryteme (talkcontribs) 06:31, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi there. it wasn't my intention to upset you by nominating the Reggie Fountain article for WP:CSD, so for that I apologize. I understand adding material to wikipedia can be difficult. If the statements you make are true, that by googling Reggie Fountain I can find articles about him, I suggest you take some time to read over the Wikipedia guidelines for creating the biography of a living person. These guidelines can be found at the following links: WP:BLP WP:Afc WP:REF. Like your chat room came to the consensus that Reggie Fountain was notable and worthy of a wikipedia page, "our chat room" (or the editors here at wikipedia) has come to the consensus that certain criteria need to be met in order to have a page posted on this website. I hope you take the time to review the links I've attached, and I would be happy to help edit Mr. Fountains page the next time you decide to create it. Best, Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 19:35, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Some days ago you improved my article 'Hans Rudolf Thull'. Thank you for your help as I am not so experienced in wikipedia yet.

So please allow one question: In its top the article is still qualified as a "new unreviewed article" that should be "reviewed by someone other than its creator ". So do you know how to find someone to review my article? Or can even you do such a review?

Thank you very much for your help!

With kind regards, WaldeBeck

WaldeBeck (talk) 19:48, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

Hello WaldeBeck! The "new unreviewed article" tag will be removed when more editors have gotten a chance to look over your newly uploaded article. An editor could remove the new unreviewed article tag and give the article different, more specific tags relating to the content of your article. Right now I would hold off on removing the unreviewed article tag (although the article looks pretty good from what I've seen) and give it at least one month from when you uploaded the article before removing it. I will keep my eye on the page, and if it hasn't been removed in the next couple of weeks I will remove it for you. Happy thanksgiving! Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 20:06, 28 November 2013 (UTC)

Chikara Season One

Hi! Thank you for reviewing Chikara Season One. I appreciate your feedback.

Chikara Season One is one topic and is related to Chikara. If I was to break it into sections, it would be choppy and possibly confuse the reader, as many different stories are being told within the course of one year. The stories are often intertwined and interconnected, adding another difficulty to adding sections. I will not be adding sections, but I did update and shorten the introductory paragraph per your suggestion.

Thanks again, Babs BabsChikara (talk) 01:05, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi BabsChikara . I just wanted to give you a heads up that creating the page for Chikara, and having your user name and information be solely dedicated to your work with Chikara, is a clear violation of WP:COI. The page I just linked notes, "when advancing outside interests is more important to an editor than advancing the aims of Wikipedia, that editor stands in a conflict of interest." Your profile content reads, "BabsChikara (also known as just Babs) is the creatrix, hostess, editor, and producer of CHIKARA in 15 Minutes or Less, a weekly CHIKARA/Wrestling is news podcast. She also created, maintains, and produced the UStream channel, The CHIKArmed Forces Network, to stream #IAmCHIKARA rallies and other events. In addition, she is a writer and maintains the website Writing Femme." It is clear to me from your personal page that you have a vested interest in seeing Chikara promoted via wikipedia. While I do not have any intentions of deleting your articles, someoneelse will surely figure this out and suggest that your articles be deleted. I suggest you read up on the wikipedia policies regarding WP:neutrality and tailor your personal page and the pages you have written regarding CHIKARA accordingly.

Best, Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 19:12, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

I put that there to let the audience know that I am subject expert, rather than just a random fan. I do not work for the company. I am very sorry that you misinterpreted the purpose of my profile. I am interested providing accurate and detailed information on CHIKARA, which is a valid and worthwhile subject. I will put that disclaimer in my profile, so it is clear. My entries are full of information that can be verified through independent sources and are not trying to sway anyone to a particular opinion. BabsChikara (talk) 03:20, 2 February 2014 (UTC)

By no means did I mean to discredit your knowledge of the subject, or the notability of the subject, with that comment. Like i said it is not my intention to remove any of your posts. I simply wanted to give you a heads up regarding some of the rules of wikipedia that some people may not be all to familiar with. I think if you read [[WP::COI]] you will see where I am coming from in regards to the issues between the articles you wrote and your personal page. I think putting a disclaimer on your profile is a great idea and doing that should prevent anyone from deleting your post. Best, Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 05:20, 2 February 2014 (UTC)

How is it statistically viable to delete Carla Howe article

I am looking at this from a google algorithm approach. Mainly, I am basing it on the statistical odds of a google search of "Carla Howe.""carla+howe"&rlz=1C1TSNF_enUS525US525&oq="carla+howe"&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i59j0l4.7924j0j4&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#q=%22carla+howe%22&tbm=nws

Even just a recent news search highlights that her alleged affairs have created global news reproduction and interest. While agree that flirting does not make it viable to be in Wiki, I did not know if I could use alleged affair even though it was reported and documented...

With one of the biggest stars of Manchester United and one of the biggest Heavy weight champions in modern time, it would appear that her actions are much greater in terms of society impact then many playboy models that are listed with wiki pages that really only did a reality show...Thoughts? ````danandrewsreporter — Preceding unsigned comment added by Danandrewsreporter (talkcontribs) 02:52, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

WP:BLP1E notes the following:
Wikipedia is not news, or an indiscriminate collection of information. Being in the news does not in itself mean that someone should be the subject of a Wikipedia article.
This section of the Wikipedia biography of a living person policies states that an article should be removed from Wikipedia if, "reliable sources cover the person only in the context of a single event" IMHO, Carla Howe, is covered only in the context of a single type of event-hooking up with celebrities. Therefore, she is not notable by wikipedia's standards. If you disagree with this, I completely understand, and I will not attempt to edit or remove your page any further. Your justification for adding Howe is solid-a google search of her name will direct a person to information regarding her alleged affairs. I am simply arguing that the fact that she is known for being promiscuous is not notable enough for her to have her on personal wikipedia page. Best, Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 05:08, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

OK, cool, this is my first go at it and since I spent a number of hours on it, I am going to give it my best shot. The thing that got me really thinking this should be a wiki page is because if someone Googles "carla howe" using a tor project browser then you will see literally the top three automatic searches are "carla howe instagram" then "Carla Howe Wikipedia" is the number 2 searched topic then the number three is carla howe amir khan... Which is pretty much how I got into this because I figured if google is saying that the public has such a strong interest in this individual that the second most requested topic carla howe wiki...then it should be done. Also looking at the Google Analytic trend over the last 90 days [1] as you can see her name is starting to pick up steam. Both due to affairs and her Playboy modeling. I am going to try to convey this and put a little more into this project, but at the end of the day, I feel if Google thinks via it's predictive search engine that someone needs a wikipage then well someone should do it Danandrewsreporter (talk) 05:57, 3 February 2014 (UTC)danandrewsreports

I think the things you recently added to her page definitely improve the article, so I commend you for that. However I think you are missing my point, and I don't agree with your logic whatsoever. You said, "I figured if google is saying that the public has such a strong interest in this individual" that she deserves a wikipedia page. Nowhere in WP:BLP does it say that "if a person has a lot of hits on google, you should probably go ahead and make them a wikipedia page." Further, your google trend results are completely insubstantial. The google trend graph notes that, "numbers represent search interest relative to the highest point on the chart. If at most 10% of searches for the given region and time frame were for "pizza," we'd consider this 100. This doesn't convey absolute search volume." From this I do not think google trends is a means to justify creating a page for this person. Being "googled" does not make you noteworthy, the actions that a person does in his or her lifetime are what make a person noteworthy and this is clearly explained in the WP:BLP guidelines. Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 16:46, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

Thank you so much for your input. In fact your advice actually supports my claim! In reading the Subjects notable only for one event... This absolutely validates my point. Please refer to [2] She had multiple high level celebrity affairs. In fact it is strongly arguable that she is an American version of Carla Howe. If Wiki guidelines allow for Rachel Uchitel to have a Wiki page and that she is noteworthyable then the absolute same discussion must be validated for Carla Howe. Fixed citation in Jane Fortune

Hello Comatmebro,

Thank you so much for your help reviewing Jane Fortune: I have updated the citation for her page as you well pointed out. What is the best way to have this reviewed for the updates? I appreciate your time.

Rachelmychajluk (talk) 23:57, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

I've removed the citation style tag. The references section looks much better so I commend you for that. The only other piece of advice I would give you is to go through your citations and add titles to them. You will see in red on several of the citations "missing or empty|title=..I am not familiar with how you cited your sources, it looks far more complicated than the method I typically use. The easiest way to cite something (lets say from the web for example) is to click the "Cite" button on the top right corner or the edit box. A drop down menu with the word "Templates" with an arrow pointing down will pop up underneath the edit tool bar. From here, click on "cite web". A pop up box will appear that will ask you to type in some information (including the title of the source you are citing) and then it will generate a citation for you. I hope this info helps! For future reference, this only applies to BLP articles created after 18 March 2010. Ernest Blake is neither a BLP, nor was it created after that date; it was created on 5 June 2007‎. :) Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 16:45, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

I understand and I apologize for the hasty edit on the page. TBH I glanced at it, noticed it could use some additional sources, and figured BLPPROD was the politest, most efficient way to potentially acquire some more sources for the argue. Do you think the quality of the article could be improved if some additional editors added some material to the page?Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 02:22, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

Hello Bnatelle, Adding additional sources to the article I flagged for BLP PROD will keep it from being deleted. I'd be happy to remove the tag as soon as some references are added to the article. By using the "edit source" tab on that same article you will be able to add references to the page without any problems. I hope this helps. Best Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 05:45, 8 March 2014 (UTC)

Dan Senor

I don't see how Dowd's quote violates WP:RECENT. Senor was an advisor in Iraq during the Bush administration -- the first Bush administration at that. And Dowd doesn't say he was "responsible for the war in Iraq." Nor does she say "the war in Iraq was the biggest foreign policy bungle in US history." She says it was "one of the the biggest foreign policy bungles in US history." I honestly don't understand why you think Dowd "attacked" Senor here. What she wrote is valid criticism -- criticism which, I remind you again, appeared in a reputable U.S. newspaper. I don't want to get in an edit war either. How about if I reinsert the quote and make it clear Dowd wrote about Senor's role in the early stages of the Iraq war? The Iraq war is a continuously unfolding fiasco, 14 years in the making, but I agree, Senor isn't responsible for all of it. I'll make that clear in my revision to the article. Chisme (talk) 22:39, 19 June 2014 (UTC)

Chisme I apologize for the confusion, but I was speaking in regards to your justification of adding the quote back to the BLP as a violation of WP:RECENT. You stated on Senor's talk page, "In light of last week's events (advances by Sunni terrorists in western Iraq, collapse of the Iraqi state army, Iranian revolutionary guards reinforcing Shiite Iraq militias) aren't Dowd's words truer than ever? " Using this as a justification for keeping the quote on Senor's page violates WP:RECENT. Senor's BLP is not a venue for describing how the Iraq War was a failure and Dowd's quote doesn't belong on a BLP for the various reasons I've already cited. There are multiple pages on wikipedia that this quote would be more appropriate on. For example the Iraq War page would be a better fit, or even better, the Criticism of the Iraq War page. Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 16:22, 20 June 2014 (UTC)
The confusion? Yes, I am confused. I think I've demonstrated to you pretty well that the quote belongs there. I already compromised by shortening the quote and by qualifying it. Let's meet halfway. Chisme (talk) 16:31, 20 June 2014 (UTC)

Maureen Dowd's article starts the following way:

Mr. (Paul) Ryan bemoaned "the slaughter of brave dissidents in Syria. Mobs storming American embassies and consulates. Iran four years closer to gaining a nuclear weapon. Israel, our best ally in the region, treated with indifference bordering on contempt by the Obama administration." U.S. foreign policy, he said, "needs moral clarity and firmness of purpose."

The article is initially about comments made by Paul Ryan at the Values Voter Summit held in Washington DC. Dowd's comments proceeding the following way:

Ryan was moving his mouth, but the voice was the neocon puppet master Dan Senor. The hawkish Romney adviser has been secunded to manage the running mate and graft a Manichaean worldview onto the foreign affairs neophyte.

Her article starts with Paul Ryan's comments, but then directs negative criticism about these comments to his “neocon puppet master” Dan Senor. I don't see that as "valid criticism," I see that as a WP:ATTACK.

Further, at what point in this article does Dowd ever cite a credible source? I understand that in one of your earlier comments, you used the following rational to keep the information on the page. “What she wrote is valid criticism -- criticism which, I remind you again, appeared in a reputable U.S. newspaper.” I would ask you to take a look at this article and this article. I think this makes it pretty clear that just because a piece of information comes from a “reputable source” like the New York Times, does not make it factually accurate. From WP:PUBLICFIGURE: "If you cannot find multiple reliable third-party sources documenting the allegation or incident, leave it out." At any point in this article does Dowd make a tangible connection between Senor and “one of the biggest foreign policy bungles in US history?" While Dowd’s comments are not supported by facts, there have been several other reputable sources that have published articles regarding the public out lash against Dowd for her comments about Senor in this article up for discussion. See [2] and [3].

While combing through Dowd’s article, I also came across the exact same quote that you recently “paraphrased” into Senor's article that you cited from Chandrasekaran’s book Imperial life in the Emerald City: Inside Iraq’s Green Zone. The information you added was “Chandrasekaran wrote about Senor, ‘Off the record: Paris is burning,’ he told (reporters). ‘On the record: Security and stability are returning to Iraq.” First, by stating “Chandrasekaran wrote about Senor” and then quoting “Off the record: Pairs is burning,’ he told (reporters),” this gives your citation a false sense of credibility. Senor didn’t tell Chandrasekran that “Paris was burning” he, allegedly, told unnamed reporters this. Secondly, this quote is nearly identical to the one included in Dowd's NY Times article that has been the topic of this debate from the get go. From ( “Off the record, Paris is burning,” Senor told a group of reporters a year into the war. “On the record, security and stability are returning to Iraq.”

I think the fact that you added an additional quote from Dowd’s controversial article, claiming it came from Chandraeskrana’s book, while we are still going back and forth about this initial quote from Dowd, is inappropriate. With that being said, I am respectfully removing the material you added to Senor's page and if you add the material back, I intend to file a case to WP:ANI.

An article of this nature is not permitted on Wikipedia and certainly does not belong on a BLP. Below is a list of Wikipedia policies it violates:

  • A negative comment (with loaded words) made by one of Senor’s critics is not notable, see WP:NOTE (events) and WP:UNDUE

Wikipedia is not a news source: it takes more than just routine news reports about a single event or topic to constitute significant coverage-tabloid journalism is not significant coverage. Even a large number of news reports that provide no critical analysis of the event is not considered significant coverage.

  • WP:VALID Wikipedia policy does not state or imply that every minority view or extraordinary claim needs to be presented. Good and unbiased research, based upon the best and most reputable authoritative sources available, helps prevent NPOV disagreements.
  • WP:IMPARTIAL states that editors must not quote directly from participants engaged in a heated dispute; but instead, summarize and present arguments in an impartial tone.
  • The quotes are WP:COATRACK for commentary on the Iraq war. Senor’s page, or any BLP for that matter, are not vehicles for spreading claims about the Iraq war failure. As stated before, perhaps criticisms and quotes of the war in Iraq should be added to the Criticism of the Iraq War page, where it would fit more appropriately. When a biography of a living person is a coatrack, it is a problem that requires immediate action. Items may be true and sourced, but if a biography of a living person is essentially a coatrack, it needs to be fixed. Removing the quote will prevent a potential WP:ATP.
  • Maureen Dowd's opinion that the Iraq war was one of the biggest foreign policy bungles in US history is of no importance to Senor's BLP. Senor is not responsible for the war in Iraq, and it is a stretch to say that the war in Iraq was “one of the biggest foreign policy bungles in US history.” It’s not Wikipedia’s job to be sensationalist, see WP:BLP
  • Senor's BLP is not the place to cover an event currently unfolding in the Iraq, see WP:RECENT. Though your material wasn't a recent quote, you supported your add by claiming, "with what's unfolding in the Middle East, aren;t Dowd's words truer than ever." This remark fails to support for violation of WP:RECENT. Best, Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 16:05, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
Rather than go to such lengths to discredit a reporter for the NY Times, maybe you ought to ask yourself why you have this burning need to defend Dan Senor. I mean, come on... This is weird. You come on like a truth warrior for Wikipedia when really you're just preventing an opinion about a public figure from appearing in a public forum. All public figures are subject to criticism. Sheesh. Chisme (talk) 16:53, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
I am not saying the quote "does not belong in a public forum." I have suggested several different pages in my previous comments that the quote could be included in (i.e. the Criticism of the Iraq War page). My argument is that because the article up for discussion is so biased towards blaming the Iraq war on Senor et al, and because of the way it is written, that it should not be cited on a WP BLP. There are certain standards that need to be met in order to include material a on a WP BLP, this article does not meet several of these criteria and, therefore, does not belong on Senor's page. Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 17:31, 24 June 2014 (UTC)

One of the issues is whether it is original research to cite to elements in the film itself (including props, dialogue, and a statement in the end credits that it was "filmed on location in New York City") to establish setting.

Thank you for helping me with Arthur T McCormack

Thank you for the edits you made to my article on Arthur T McCormack. Last week, I moved an article about his father, Joseph McCormack, from my sandbox to the main space. That's the only thing I've done so far on Wikipedia. I'm not really an editor; I've learned only enough to add that one article. This morning, I wanted to start the article about Arthur McCormack. I meant to begin it in my sandbox. But, somehow I created something in the public viewing space. I can probably 'finish' it this week, but I'm wondering if perhaps it wouldn't be better to move it back to my sandbox and work on it there. I don't know how best to 'delete' the article, fix in in sandbox, then move it when it's ready. Any suggestions? (talk) 20:08, 10 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi Drvalsummers, I would suggest working on the article in your sandbox. Once you have a final product in your sandbox, you can then just copy and paste it into the Wikipedia article. Leaving the current Wikipedia article is fine for now - just make sure to update it when you are finished. I think that would be the best option! Good luck! Thank you

Hello Comatmebro,

Thank you very much for reviewing "my" new article Horst Geicke. Sometimes I don´t feel sure about grammar and especially word order (I´m mainly contributing in the German WP and both lanuages are so similar that it´s confusing sometimes). I just see that you are in the Grammar WikiProject: Maybe you can have a look on the Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh Stadt also. It was my first English article, still not reviewed. Is the English not good? Or should I add more soures?

In advance many thanks for helping and let me know if you have any questions or wishes regarding the German WP (we have almost 2 Millions article now even our notabilities is pretty strict).

Kind regards--F.Blaubiget (talk) 11:22, 21 July 2016 (UTC)

Hi, -F.Blaubiget! Happy to help out - just went through your second article and made some minor changes. For the most part, I thought it looked great! Let me know if there's anything else I might be able to help you out with. Cheers Comatmebro User talk:Comatmebro 19:13, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
Hey Comatmebro, Very nice, thanks again. I really should avoid writing too long sentences... (which is a German bad habbit). A friend started to study in UK, and his first thesis gave the professor back during 2 days telling him to rewrite it in normal English... I hope I can improve and contribute a lot in English Wikipedia. I just saw that you welcomed a Indonesian guy. This international touch is really great here. Thanks again and have a relaxing weekend.--F.Blaubiget (talk) 03:11, 23 July 2016 (UTC)
F.Blaubiget Anytime! The best writing advice I ever received was to write everything out and then go back and try to eliminate as many words as you can from each sentence. "Short and sweet" as they say here in the US! Cheers Comatmebro User talk:Comatmebro 00:22, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
"Short and sweet" - I like that. Good advice, thank you. And let me know if you have any questions or tasks in the German Wikipedia. Greetings to the United States!--F.Blaubiget (talk) 04:42, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

See WP:CLOSEAFD for how the process goes from here. While the expansion of the filmography and fixed links definitely help improve the pages overall quality, the improvements don't necessarily make him notable enough for his own WP:BLP. I think you've made some significant steps to improve the article since I tagged it for deletion, which is great! I will add a comment to the deletion discussion noting the improvement. It will be up to the admin who reviews the deletion requisition to determine whether or not the page meets the criteria for WP:GNG and WP:Artist and should be kept. Permanently deleting Page Issue warning that article is being considered for deletion

Hi Comatmebro. You reviewed William Tunberg (artist) and inserted a Page Issue warning (deletion). If it is unsatisfactory, please be specific as to what you'd like to see changed and I'll revise. I would like to remove this warning as soon as possible. I appreciate your help. Thanks. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/William Tunberg (artist)

11/18/16 Comatmebro, I will redo my argument in favor again tomorrow, but I'll do it on my computer and copy & paste into Wikipedia so I don't lose it. This has been so discouraging. We started out building the page with joy and excitement. It's been one bad thing after another. Now I've been accused of voting twice, which isn't true. I was just trying to let you know that I was having trouble getting an argument up on Wikipedia.Cstwct (talk) 05:05, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

11/18/16 Hi Comatmebro. Yesterday, I left a long dialog in support of why you should keep Tunberg's page. I countered SwisterTwister's objections. However, I cannot find what I wrote on Wikipedia. It seems to have disappeared. Again, I feel this page should be kept. I'll keep looking for my argument in support and update you when I find it. It may be in another section. Negatively qualifying Tunberg's page because of one editor's opinion is unfair, and it is damaging to his reputation.Cstwct (talk) 02:26, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

11/18/16 Comatmebro, please confirm you received my Keep argument for Tunberg's page. I spent a long time tonight writing it and it doesn't show up again. This is the second time this has happened. I'm not sure if Wikipedia is knocking me out because I take too long. Maybe it goes into a section that someone reviews before posting. I don't know how this works. But I didn't save it to my computer again! I'm ready to give up.Cstwct (talk) 03:39, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

Hi Comatmebro. I saw that you closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/William Tunberg (artist) because you were withdrawing your nomination. You can withdraw your nomination for sure, but I'm not sure you should close the AfD per WP:NAC. Another editor SwisterTwister did !vote that the article should be deleted so such a close is possibly contentious. I think it would be probably better for you to just add a comment on why you've changed your mind and leave the closing up to an administrator. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:06, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

I came here to state the same thing. You should undo your lose and simply state you are withdrawing the nomination without closing it. A non-admin close from a withdrawn nomination should only occur if all other opinions expressed were keep, and in this case there was one delete. -- Whpq (talk)
Just tried to follow your instructions - let me know if I need to do anything differently. Thank you for the help! Cheers Comatmebro User talk:Comatmebro 01:30, 18 November 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for taking a look at this stub I created for one of the newest justices of the Arizona Supreme Court. I'm just curious as to why you chose to leave the "New Unreviewed Article" tag in place after your changes? The article is marked as a stub, and will hopefully grow over time, but I think it's sufficient to be considered "reviewed" and am curious if I'm missing something on that count. --NDSteve10 (talk) 16:08, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

Hey there. I just removed the tag! Best of luck with expanding the article. Comatmebro User talk:Comatmebro 18:29, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

You reviewed Swoon Editions, without tagging it for any problems; I think there is so little indication of significance that I have listed it for SpeedyA7.
You also reviewed Melissa Aldana without adding any tags, even though there was only a single unsatisfactory reference to "webarchive", which is fact turns out to be an archive of the unreliable . If the iformation there is accurate, she is in fact notable, but this is a BLP, and it needed to be tagged for better sources. (Its also a close paraphrase of the source) . Similarly Church of the Immaculate Conception, Żurrieq is notable, but the very brief stub had no third party sources, just its own web page. Major sourcing problems like this need to be tagged. The objkect of patrolling recent changes is not just to see if the article should or should not be deleted, but to indicate at least the most critical problems. BLP PROD tag on Peter P. Gudo

Hi. I removed the WP:BLPPROD tag you place on Peter P. Gudo. BLP PROD requires that there be no sources of any kind in the article. The article did have sources, and so it is not eligible for that deletion that method. It did have a previous AfD, so I have tagged it per CSD G4, but you should generally not tag an article with BLP PROD the same minute it is created, even if it is eligible. That's pretty much WP:BITE and doesn't give editors the chance to create articles that might be useful for building the encyclopedia TonyBallioni (talk) 21:28, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

December 2016

Information icon Hello Comatmebro. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that there is consensus that we shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and/or content (CSD A3) moments after they are created, as you did at Booso booso and Amrinder Nagra. It is also suggested that pages that might meet CSD A7 criteria not be tagged for deletion immediately after they are created. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course still be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks.  {MordeKyle  23:17, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

Dang it! I can honestly say I am not attempting to upset the patrol Gods with my CSDs. Thank you (to you and a few other editors) who have corrected me in a polite and respectful manner. I will do my best to "not bite the newcomers" since you guys are doing an awesome job of not biting me! Again, apologies for not following protocol, and thank you for your feedback! Comatmebro User talk:Comatmebro 23:27, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
PS: Isn't a page titled Amrinder Nagra created by a new user names "Nagra.Wiki" with 0 other edits a little fishy? Maybe I was quick to tag, but understand I saw no content, only a picture with a primary source cited in the info box, and a brand new user with the same name of the article in his title...WP:COI maybe??? Comatmebro User talk:Comatmebro 23:30, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

You have deleted my page "Editor Venkat " Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/EDITER VENKAT stating that the person is very insignificant person. Why have you not deleted them? can you please explain? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dilsoft (talkcontribs) 20:48, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

Let's clarify that statement a little bit: I nominated your article for deletion per WP:GNG. Then, several other editors weighed in on whether or not they thought he was notable. Consensus was "no" and therefore, the article was deleted. Feel free to direct any "insignificant persons" articles my way! I'd be happy to review them, see if they meet WP:GNG, and determine whether or not those pages should be nominated as well. Cheers Comatmebro User talk:Comatmebro 23:09, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

Nomination of Justine Hardy for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Justine Hardy is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Justine Hardy until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. KDS4444 (talk) 22:50, 17 December 2016 (UTC)

I declined your deletion nomination of Omareyah School because it is about an educational institution; educational institutions are explicitly out of scope for A7. A7 again

2016 Mexico fireworks incident was very much not an A7. It claimed that two international news organizations were covering it, and a two-second Google search yielded tons of hits for very recent news. Current event, yes. But almost certainly significant and most likely notable (remains to be seen though). Appable (talk | contributions) 01:00, 21 December 2016 (UTC)

I understand - what tag would you recommend in this type of situation? I was thinking WP:TOOSOON maybe? Comatmebro User talk:Comatmebro 02:13, 21 December 2016 (UTC)
I would recommend tagging it as a current event and watching it. It's definitely covered in reliable sources, so I'd wait a few days and see whether there's sustained coverage, then potentially tag for AfD if not - the main concern would likely be WP:NOTNEWS as an event with no sustaining notability. In this case, it's a non-routine and fairly major event so I would expect it will have some lasting notability. That remains to be seen though. Appable (talk | contributions) 02:52, 21 December 2016 (UTC)

Tsendiyn Munkh-Orgil is 100% notable

I feel a need to tell you that your attempt to prod delete the article on Tsendiyn Munkh-Orgil was totally unwise. This type of behavior especially against new users is what keeps Wikipedia with too few editors, and in this case reinforces systemic bias. The foriegn minister of virtually any country is default notable, one in a country entering the news at the level of Mongolia is totally notable without question. I was able to find sources from multiple foriegn ministries, from Reuters, from Bloomberg and so on. I just hope that the editor involved will not be forever scarred away. is adding first footnote sufficient to remove "needs notability established" template?

Dear Comatmebro, I noticed you put a "needs notability established" template on the George Makdisi article I put the first footnote on the article. Would this be enough to establish notability? My notion is that subsequently I and possibly other Wikipedia editors could add additional footnoting/references, but in the meantime I would like to remove the template. What do you think? Also, notice that five books are mentioned in the article as being authored by the article subject. Would this authorship be enough to establish notability? Greg Dahlen (talk) 06:41, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

Hey, Greg! The issue I had with the page when I looked for sources is all that I could find were obituary articles. While this is an indeed a source, it's not one that can really stand as the sole source of a WP:BLP. I would compare it to using Facebook or iMDB as a source for a wiki article (it's a source, but not a great source, does that make sense?). What you can do to establish notability is find additional sources, above and beyond the obituary page, that explain why Mr. Makdisi is notable. The books are a great start, but a lot of those sources are simply "hey you can buy this book here" and again, those don't really explain why he is notable. You are free to remove the notability tag (I won't add it back), but I can't guarantee someone else won't come along, see the same issues I saw, and simply request that the page be deleted. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course still be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. -KAP03(Talk • Contributions • Email) 22:24, 28 May 2017 (UTC)

Apologies for jumping the gun. Cheers Comatmebro User talk:Comatmebro 22:24, 28 May 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for quickly deleting the page I wrote -- that was my first attempt and I saved one sentence and then walked away. I have since created that I believe meets the guidelines. Unfortunately, I failed to properly capitalize the title. It should be Nathan Asher and The Infantry. I am not allowed as of yet to change the title. If you wish to change the title to the proper capitalization, please do. Thank you. I plan to write more articles as I find ones that meet the criteria. Comatmebro, thank you for your helpful edits and reviews of my articles! I have been trying to become more active and been making more contributions to pages about cricket. A couple of my articles are under AfD, and I would appreciate if you could have a look at them and provide your thoughts, too. All best, Climate7298 (talk) 06:33, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

Philippe K Ziade is back, after being deleted.

Hello, Comatmebro. While looking through new articles, I came across Philippe K Ziade. The article is terribly promotional - at first I tried to clean it up but I suspect that it might be a lost cause. Then I found that you had proposed an article by the same name for deletion just a week ago. I can't see that original article - can you comment on whether this is still as bad, and should also be deleted? --Gronk Oz (talk) 14:19, 1 July 2017 (UTC)

I should also ping the other editors involved in deleting the original article: Reddogsix, Rawad00. --Gronk Oz (talk) 14:22, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
Done Never mind; the article has since been Speedy Deleted. --Gronk Oz (talk) 23:41, 1 July 2017 (UTC)

Rawad00 Dears, Philippe Ziade is a living entrepreneur and there's another Philippe Ziade on wikipedia which creating many confusion. I am an aerospace engineer and not an expert editor like you on wikipedia. I created myself the article gathering online references after watching many TV interviews featuring this guy and wanted to be my first article and learn more wikipedia tweaks to participate in other scientific articles. The intention wasnt in any way promotional and I hope you can help me creating the article in the correct wikipedia guidelines. Could you guys help?

Reddogsix Gronk Oz Comatmebro Please help in making the article suitable for wikipedia guidelines, instead of deleting the article, help me creating it in the right way, it's not in any way intentionally made for any promotional reasons. I have contacted the Wikipedia information team who assured that admins will help instead of going to the easiest solution of deletion. But instead making an effort in contributing.

  • Hello, Rawad00. An admin, Drewmutt, took a different approach - instead of deleting that article, he/she moved it to a draft, at Draft:Philippe K Ziade. This will allow you (and others) to work on the article before it "goes live" and is held up to more scrutiny. The cut-down article there now is much better. Your first step should be to collect sources that are independent (not written by the subject or his company) and which discuss him in some detail. Then write the article based on what those articles say, without adding your own personal knowledge or point of view (that is often the hard part). Also, you should look at cutting down the excessive list of external links; it is not apparent why most of them are pertinent (there is a good guideline on what should not be linked at "Links normally to be avoided "). --Gronk Oz (talk) 01:52, 4 July 2017 (UTC)
  • Well, just to be clear, I'm not an admin. But everything else is true, and thanks for the compliment! Drewmutt (^ᴥ^) talk 01:57, 4 July 2017 (UTC)
  • Gronk Oz Drewmutt, Thank you, will keep improving it and any collaboration you provide is highly appreciated. --Rawad00
