Welcome!
[edit]Welcome to my talk page. If you have a question about Wikipedia, or any of it's Policies, procedures, and guidelines, feel free to ask a question below. I will get back to you as soon as possible. Once I have contacted you on your talk page initially, I will continue the conversation on my page. This keeps everything in order. Have a nice day! Your RfA
[edit]Hi! I think I ought to advise you that it was far too early to request Adminship. It is highly unlikely that it will succeed. If you wish to keep it open, so that you might learn what you need to do to make the next one more likely to gain support, then do so - but there is no shame in closing it yourself per WP:SNOW (in fact, taking the decision yourself may appear better in a future application). Whatever you decide, don't be discouraged! Enthusiasm for the job is a key quality, but it is likely that people will want more edits so that they can make a decent judgement. Cheers. LessHeard vanU 00:41, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
I've closed your RfA.
[edit]I am truly sorry, but it is far too early for you to be an admin. For example, I made my first few edits in February, however, I am not an admin myself. Once again, I am very sorry, but your RfA had no chance of succeeding. JONATHAN Go green! 00:46, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
You marked the article Elite Exbanded Timeline patrolled, but there were still many problems on it. I have tagged the article so that it may receive the attention it needs. If you are unsure about whether an article still may need improvement or tagging, or merely want a second opinion on it, please do not mark it patrolled. Thank you. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 21:30, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks and Happy New Year
[edit]Firstly, let me wish you a very happy New Year and thank you for all your help in the Milhist Tag & Assess 2007 drive.
Military history service award | ||
For tagging and assessing 250 articles in Tag & Assess 2007, by order of the coordinators I hereby present you with this Military history WikiProject Service Award. --ROGER DAVIES talk 11:18, 2 January 2008 (UTC) |
Secondly, although the Tag & Assess 2007 drive is now officially closed, you are very welcome to continue tagging and assessing until 31 January 2008. Any articles you tag and assess during this time will be credited fully to your tagging tally for further award purposes.
Thirdly, if you can find the time, it would be good to have your feedback/comments on the drive at the Tag & Assess workshop
Thanks again for your help, --ROGER DAVIES talk 11:18, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Response to Reward Board (Furry Articles)
[edit]For the furcadia article, I ran through and fixed some last minute, minor (but oh, so important) problems, and nominated it for Good Quality Article. I will continue to keep you updated on its progress. Have a nice day!
Vistro (talk) 00:09, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- That's good news; however be aware that you will probably not get much of the credit for raising the article to good article status, as the changes you made do not appear to be numerous or significant. The actual act of nomination is not part of the reward - it is the raising of the article itself to the required standard that counts. If subsequent issues are raised by the GA reviewers and you take the action to fix them, that may be another matter. GreenReaper (talk) 01:04, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your help on Furcadia, but I don't think it will get a GA status yet, as most of the information in it is still unsourced. -kotra (talk) 00:45, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
I have reverted this article to one that doesn't include a huge copy-paste, but I admit the article doesn't really assert notability. Feel free to take it to AfD. J Milburn (talk) 17:02, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
New! BCAD drive from Milhist
[edit]Can I invite you to particpate in our new assessment drive? It's strictly for experienced editors and has a degree of friendly competition built-in. It involves re-evaluating around 3500 Milhist B-Class articles to ensure they match our new criteria. As ever, we're offering a range of awards as our way of expressing our thanks. The drive doesn't start until 18:00 (UTC) on March 10 but you can sign up in advance here. It would be great if you can spare the time, --ROGER DAVIES talk 05:33, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit]I'm the primarily author of Weather beacon. When I started the article, I thought that there would be only a few to list. The total list of the number of weather beacons is around seventy. I didn't like the list because I thought it was sloppy and the footnotes unwieldy. So I began putting the information in a table in my sandbox: User:SDC/sandbox#wb. Now the table seems unwieldy. Can you give me an extra pair of eyes? I'm not sure which direction to go in. SDC (talk) 23:48, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Your recent edits
[edit]Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 04:51, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Re lowercase with template attributes and interwiki links
[edit]Hi Vistro! Your recent pipe-linking at Walter Chrysler to bypass the redirects was good. The capitalizing of template attributes actually breaks the functionality, so I restored lowercase. With the interwiki links, lowercase is standard. I'm not posting here to bust your chops, just to let you know why I restored the lowercase in those spots. Cheers, — ¾-10 17:12, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Re Crataegus crus-galli page
[edit]Hi Vistro. Just to let you know that your latest change to the Taxobox on the Crataegus crus-galli page has meant that the Taxobox won't display. I can't figure it out (except that capitalizing the components seems to be part of the problem). Nadiatalent (talk) 18:46, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
AdminHelp
[edit]I read an article in the news about how users that have edited to the Barack Obama article, points how he refuses to publicly show his birth certificate, and his affiliation with Ayers, have been banned repeatedly. They have even cited thier sources. What rule are these edits breaking? We can't just favor one side, the entire article is full of praise, certainly we need to allow edits that don't praise him, as well.
I just needed an admin's opinion on this. I try to tell people that Wikipedia isn't just a big joke, but it's hard for me to say that when these things come up.
- You can't get "banned" just for adding that kind of information. I haven't found any proof that anyone's gotten blocked for editing the president's article. More than likely they're either adding the information without reliable sources (like, they're citing to a blog or something) or they're violating WP:3RR. Nintendo task force membership update
[edit]I am currently gauging the active membership of the Nintendo task force. I have split the members list into an "active list" and an "inactive list" and have moved all members (except myself) to the "inactive list". To confirm that you're still an active participant in the task force, please go to the membership list at WP:NIN and simply move your name from the "inactive list" back onto the "active list". If you no longer wish to be a member, simply remove your name from the list. After two weeks (around 23 March 2009), I will remove all names on the inactive list. Thank you, and hope you're still interested, MuZemike 20:38, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Your edits to User:Jimbo Wales
[edit]I rollbacked the above edits since they are vandalism - you are changing what Jimbo says. The "you may edit this page" comment is directed at making useful additions, and not what you did. Since you are a long time contributor I shall not be making a formal warning, but I would strongly urge you not to do it again. LessHeard vanU (talk) 22:01, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Vistro, this is an automated message from SDPatrolBot to inform you the PROD template you added to 1952–1953 United States network television schedule (weekday) has been removed. It was removed by DGG with the following edit summary '(one of a series-- not appropriate to delete this one by itself without discussion.)'. Please consider discussing your concerns with DGG before pursuing deletion further yourself. If you still think the article should be deleted after communicating with the 'dePRODer,' you may want to send the article to AfD for community discussion. Request reason:
I was told that if I logged on I would still be able to edit. Erm... please help?
Decline reason:
Clearing an autoblock
Due to the nature of the block applied we need additional information before we can decide whether to unblock you. It is very likely that you are not personally blocked. If you are prevented from editing, it may be because you are autoblocked or blocked because of your IP address. Without further details there is nothing further we can do to review or lift your block. Please follow these instructions:
- If you have a Wikipedia account, please ensure that you are logged in.
Your account name will be visible in the top right of this page if you are.
If it isn't, try bypassing your web browser's cache. - Try to edit the Sandbox.
- If you are still blocked, copy the {{unblock-auto|...}} code generated for you under the "IP blocked?" section. This is usually hidden within the "What do I do now?" section. If so, just click the "[show]" link to the right hand side to show this text.
- Paste the code at the bottom of your user talk page and click save.
If you are not blocked from editing the sandbox then the autoblock on your IP address has already expired and you can resume editing. Q T C 05:30, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Block message:
Decline reason: After checking with the blocking admin, who said he's 80% sure you're the user who vandalized, I looked at your contributions and the IP's. I discovered that you have no activity since November 15th prior to today; that about an hour after the block, someone at the IP address made it clear they have a previous account; within an hour after that you make your first unblock request. This appears to be a reason to think that you are the person against who the block is intended. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 14:09, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
Consulting with blocking admin. He probably meant a soft block, which wouldn't affect you while you're logged in, but I think I should check with him, just in case there's a reason for it. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 06:21, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

[edit]I am confused as to the tags added to this article. I as the major contributor do not have a connection to Otto Binnig. Which Erskine Thomason has, no matter how unnotable he may be.

Your request for rollback
[edit]Hi R000t. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Salvio Let's talk about it! 18:45, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

Strain (surname)
[edit]You have complained that my edit to Strain (surname) was unconstructive. If you have another look you will see that I reverted many paragraphs of text added without any references or support of any kind. It looks just like original research and I reverted it as such. - Sorry about that. I assumed a massive removal of content was unwanted. I truly apologize. I've added you to my software's various ignore lists so I don't accidentally revert your work. Thanks for letting me know! I am r000t (talk) 13:05, 19 October 2011 (UTC)

- Is that so? In order for somebody to have been Rick Roll'd, you'd have had to trick them into viewing Rick Astley's "Never Gunna Give You Up" music video. Please just stop. You've made it incredibly easy for me to find out where you live based on the information on your userpage, and I'm especially bored right now. This isn't a good combination. Speedy deletion declined: Colyn Fischer
[edit]Hello R000t. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Colyn Fischer, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: importance beyond what is required for A7. Thank you. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 10:17, 28 March 2012 (UTC)

Armenians seem to have taken it All! The music in Stalker film is a pure azeri music called mugam - check it on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mugham if u want to know what mugham is. As the composer of stalker was an armenian and there are bad relationships between azerbaijan and armenian - he would never say that mugham is azeri.! I just wanted to express my frustratins on ignoring my correction on stalkers film. Wikipedia is welcome to missinform people as they will. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.144.63.158 (talk) 14:59, 20 September 2012 (UTC)
PGP-Key
[edit]Hello R000t,
you tell us on your user-page that you have a PGP-key, but you don’t provide it. Could you please use a pgp-template with an ID-field (like Template:User PGP)? Also it would be great if you could send me your key-ID by wiki-mail or leave it on my talk-page. Thanks :-). --DaB. (talk) 16:49, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
Huggle 3
[edit]Hey r000t! I am Petrb, one of core developers of Huggle, the antivandalism tool, which you are beta testing (according to https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members#Beta_testers). I am happy to announce that Huggle 3 is ready for some testing. You can read more about it at WP:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta. Please keep in mind that this is a development version and it is not ready for regular use. That means you must:
- Watch your contribs - when anything happens you didn't want, fix it and report a bug
- Frequently checkout source code and build latest version, we change it a lot
If you find any problem with a feature that is supposed to work perfectly, please let us know. Some features are not ready yet, it is listed in known problems on Huggle3 beta page, you don't need to report these - we know it! So, that's it. Have fun testing and please let us know about any problems, either using bugzilla @ http://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/ or #huggle connect. Please respond to my talk page, I am not going to watch your talk page. Thank you Petrb (talk) 10:57, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

filey
[edit]hi, i edited the filey school page because 1n the 1980s i was bullied for many years at this school and since then there are many more cases of bulling even some which have ended making the local paper. also if you check the local bbc website you will find evidence of a case in the 90s which ended up with a child spending 4 months in a coma in scarborough hospital. i am not doing this for any other reason except i think people need to know the truth before sending there children here. i haved lived in filey all my life and all i have told you is truthful — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.23.209.23 (talk) 20:12, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
Huggle 3 beta is out - and we need more feedback!
[edit]Hey r000t, how are you? I am Petrb, one of huggle developers, and you are currently subscribed as a beta tester of huggle on meta (meta:Huggle/Members. You may not have noticed, but this week I released first beta precompiled installers for ubuntu and microsoft windows! Wikipedia:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta has all the links you need. So if you can, please download it, test it and report all bugs that is really what we need now. Don't forgot that as it's just a beta it's unstable and there are some known issues. Be carefull! Thank you for helping us with huggle Petrb (talk) 16:24, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
We need your help testing latest huggle
[edit]Hello,
I am sending you this message because you listed yourself on meta:Huggle/Members as a beta tester. We desperately need attention of testers, because since we resolved all release blockers, we are ready to release first official version of huggle 3! Before that happens, it would be nice if you could test it so that we can make sure there are no issues with it. You can download it packaged for your operating system (see Wikipedia:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta) or you can of course build it yourself, see https://github.com/huggle/huggle3-qt-lx for that. Don't forget to use always latest version, there is no auto-update message for beta versions!
Should you find any issue, please report it to wikimedia bugzilla, that is a central place for huggle bugs, where we look at them. That is i mportant, if you find a bug and won't report it, we can't fix it. Thank you for your work on this, if you have any questions, please send me a message on my talk page, I won't be looking for responses here. Thanks, Petrb (talk) 15:15, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
New huggle 3.1 is going to be released soon
[edit]Hi r000t, we are to release a new major version of huggle, but we did receive almost no feedback from our beta testing team, which you are a part of (see https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members). It would be of a great help if you could download it (if you have windows, all you need to do is getting http://tools.wmflabs.org/huggle/files/huggle3.1.0beta.exe and putting it to a folder where you have installed huggle) and test it. You can always get a help with making it @ #huggle connect!
Major changes:
- Multisite support - you can now log in to unlimited number of wikis in 1 huggle session and get a huge queue of all edits made to these wikis. This is good for smaller projects which gets overlooked often.
- Ranged diffs - you can select multiple revisions and get a huge diff that display all changes done to them.
- Fixes of most of bug reports we had so far
In case you found a bug, please report it to bugzilla: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/buglist.cgi?product=Huggle&list_id=147663 thank you! Petrb (talk) 10:13, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
Huggle message
[edit]Hey r000t! You are receiving this message because you are subscribed at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members#Beta_testers
I have recently launched a new downloads for beta testers that contains nightly builds of huggle, eg. versions that are built every day from our master branch and contains latest huggle. These builds are currently provided only for Windows and Ubuntu. You can find them here: http://huggle.wmflabs.org/builds/
Please keep in mind that these don't have any automatic updates and if you download and start using nightly build, you will need to update it yourself! So don't get yourself to running old version, it's possible to install both stable and nightly huggle, which is what I suggest.
Keep the bug reports coming to phabricator: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/maniphest/task/create/?projects=Huggle Many thanks! Petrb (talk) 10:01, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

Possible removal of AWB access due to inactivity
[edit]Hello! There is currently a request for approval of a bot to manage the AutoWikiBrowser CheckPage by removing inactive users, among other tasks. You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. This is purely for routine maintenance of the CheckPage, and is not indicative of wrongdoing on your part. You will be able regain access at any time by simply requesting it at WP:PERM/AWB. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 23:36, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
