The Eurovision Song Contest 2010 will be the 55th Eurovision Song Contest. Two semi-finals will take place on 18 and 20 May, with the final on 22 May 2010.[1] The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has announced that it will work extra hard on bringing back Italy, Monaco and Austria to the 2010 edition of the contest.[2] This edition of the contest will be hosted by the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2009, which will be determined on 16 May 2009. At a press conference on 13 May 2009, EBU & Eurovision.tv confirmed that countries like Kazakhstan, Palestine & Qatar are not eligible to join in the future. Same goes for any country geographically located out of the zone. There are no new potential active member countries, as all eligible are already in. However, there may be some new member broadcasters in European countries already having one member.[3]
